THIS STORY IS A TOTAL LIE!! Anyone who actually graded with Gamestop knows that this is not even possible with the way their process is! If he lost $375k worth of carss he would have had to grade 1875 cards at $200 value per card! The declared value can only be $200! So if he is sending 1st ed Zards at $200 declared value... silly mistake then.
#2: YOU CAN ONLY DO 100 CARDS PER ODDER! So he would have had 19 different submissions that just evaporated out of the system?? Hmmmm. Weird.
#3: YOU SCAN IN EACH CARD 1 BY 1! You dont just hand them 1000 cards and walk out the door. You go through each card 1 by 1,and have to say yes or no right there on the spot!
#4: THEY TAKE PICTURES EVERY 20 CARDS FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES! They get sent to you in the email confirming that you sent them!
#5: A REGULAR EMPLOYEE STORE LEVEL IS NOT ABLE TO MAJORLY OVERRIDE THE SYSTEM TO DELETE ORDERS. Cmon, you dont think Gamestop thought of that?
STOP THE GAMESTOP HATE! This is a cool program for people that dont want to pay all the crazy fees to be a platinum club member! I myself am a platinum card member and still sent cards with GS because its cheaper if you are doing 20 or less cards!
If you watch any GS grading video, you would instantly see all the holes in this story! Why didnt he show a receipt? You have to pay grading fees upfront!

i had a discussion about grading thru gamestop with someone who submits with me, and i help them as a middle man. The main thing it comes down to is TRUST. cheaper yes but doesnt always mean better.
I submitted 1 card just to test it out to see how it goes. hopefully they guy gets his stuff back cause that would suck.
Come to think of it IF they were to add like say a voided tag that would prevent theft, as long as the owner of the cards signed off verifying that yes its sealed, then PSA can verify received if still intact. extra security there.
For incoming, void sticker would work as well so long as picture of owner of cards is taken to verified they received their cards and signature required just like if you got a submission.
just a small idea for them to get away from that and theft within the company. far as insurance well psa or gamestop would need to pay out

Where it can get kind a of funky is GameStop actually only sends off a parcel to PSA when they have at least 20 cards ready. So if your store is a low traffic area when you dropped off your 4 cards if 16 other cards weren’t waiting to go out your cards could end up sitting for a few days. Just FYI though, once your cards are sealed in the tamper evident bag in front of you they will be immediately placed in a locked special drawer, in a locked office, that only management has access to

Who would use GameStop for $375k of submissions.....lol. You could literally use a 3rd party broker and/or overnight the cards with $100k+ in insurance and require signature for release directly with PSA. This seems like a fake story.

I really like your channel but I feel like this story failed the smell test and has some inaccuracies. 1. What he claimed the value he submitted is impossible. They have a max value they are able to submit per card and it is checked in the system based on the card. In order to submit then thousands of cards to meet this threshold would take multiple days of multiple workers to handle in addition to actually store work. 2. Did he show receipts? You need to pay for submissions at the time of submission. Show the receipts! 3. GameStop has $5billion in the banks which makes it one of the most cash rich companies in the US and won’t go bankrupt anytime soon. Please follow up with the story if it is indeed real or call him out for being a scammer.

This story can’t be real. It doesn’t even sound real. 375k at a GameStop? Like really? Lol. I haven’t finished the video but I’d like to see some actual evidence on this. Did GameStop make a comment on this? Did the police find anything? Did the customer show a receipt of his payment to GameStop to show proof? Sounds like an insurance scam or just downright defamation of GameStop.

I find it extremely difficult to feel bad for someone like this. He messed up on so many different levels. 375k submission? Really? The average GameStop employee makes less than 30k a year. You’d just hand that to them and walk away? There’s not even 375k worth of stock in that entire store, lol. And why would you mail that in anyway? You have 375k to blow on cardboard made for children, but can’t spend the money on a plane ticket for a walk in submission? None of this makes any sense 😂 it’s either bogus, or this guy is really, REALLY dumb.

You got that much in possible card value, just drive to PSA headquarters yourself and submit. Why on Earth would you trust any third party OR the shipping service (USPS, FedEx, UPS) with your cards? Too many hands. Too many variables. I get like if the shipping costs or the distance is an issue, but then don't submit that all at once or if it's just a card or two, then I feel you should be doing it yourself. Wild!

The switching out of cards is what worries me most about these services. Removing a perfectly centered, no whitening near pristine copy and swapping in a NM slightly off-centered with a white dot. Submit the NM copy with the customer and the employee taking the other and just submitting it themselves. Would be incredibly difficult to prove definitively that there was something going on.

The guy who submitted the cards seems like a complete idiot. Gamestop replied to him saying that his cards are not lost but he isn't accepting that as an answer because neither the store or PSA has the cards. Seems like the cards are in transit to PSA and this guy is freaking out over nothing. Also he sent retro Star Wars cards which are only valuable if they are PSA 10s (they are basically worthless raw) so his submission probably isn't worth close to 300k.

    • @angelaserafini6029

It is not worth anywhere close. He posted a video this morning with a case number and a receipt that showed he paid below $200 since the first number was a 1 and he was attempting to scramble the receipt. I believe it was 159.92 which would mean he submitted 10 cards at 15.99 and I pointed that out since he said in another video he submitted 22 cards which would be near $400 dollars. he has now removed the video but if you look up on google Cardboardgems Mason Ray his video shows a link but goes to a dead video now. he would have to Submit all of them as Golden Rod C-3PO Error cards and even then 10 PSA 10s would barely equal over half based on the one i found for $21k. He also commented in another video he was getting 11k in a settlement and may go for more in court. I would be taking them to court with a vengeance if they offered that to me for $375000, looks like he's thinking of gambling to get more.
I am hoping my comment messed up and was not removed that i was editing a minute ago because that doesn't look good. I like your videos Rattle but the research on this one was lacking as I made a comment on this guys Tiktok stating facts and he removed it in what i believe is attempt to cover up the receipt now.

I submitted mine on November 8th and have had the same thing. Cards are shown as graded but when I click on their website to see the grades it just says NULL. I went on on Thursday to ask what was going on but the employee just seemed like he was over the holidays and told me to come back when the manager is there. Went in yesterday and asked a different employee and he told me they had graded cards there that have come back but that they haven't gotten around to calling the people to pick them up or even entering them in their system. Seems like it's just up to if the employees at the store you submitted want to even bother with adding them to the system or calling the customers.
