Taking off any part of the signature would be extremely frowned upon in Japan, let alone selling the signature if the artist' wishes were not to have that happen. By wiping off the portion of the signature, a chemical would have been used therefore, the card should be deactivated by PSA from tampering the card with an unknown substance. I would love to hear Rob's side of the story. Also the overall market these days with al these cons and people getting the signatures just to flip is cringe. As a store owner, I bought one Arita signature and it ended up feeling not very special as it wasn't me who got it signed in a special circumstance. I frequently see people bring in signature products just to flip and just feel it's not worth it for people to pay a multiplier cost from someone going up to booth for a signature when it wasn't themselves getting it from the artist.

It's not an opinion, you did the artist wrong and when PSA finds out you removed the personalization, they'll deactivate the certification and the buyers will be super upset because they won't be able to move the cards again if they needed too. It's shady and shitty
Just a heads up. PSA already marked any altered signatures as altered when you look up the cert. They will still authenticate the artist signature regardless if personalization was removed or not.
