Once she dyes her hair black, Mikasa will die. As soon as she shaves her hair off, Connie will die. Didn't she have a scene where she got bitten by a.. horse head? Oh god, Jean is in trouble!
Shooting Sasha is when her negative arc and warped ideology reaches it's lowest depths and shooting Eren is the point where she truly starts to redeem herself and become a hero of the story.

This episode is basically a callback to the previous seasons. We got a shot of Sasha, Annie is back, scouts fighting titans with the incredible 'Barricades' ost. Just loved the episode.
Let's not forget the numerous parallels to season 1 scenes. I was surprised to see that no reactors caught them. For example, 6:42 the two titans looking inside the building at cadets is the same as the Season 1 scene where Jean is looking at 2 titans who broke the wall while the cadets run away (it's even in the same kind of building). In that scene Jean was coming into terms with the harsh reality that humans could never beat titans, but in this scene he's the one slaughtering them with other scouts. Then at 10:42 there is a parallel to the scene where they blind all the Titans at once in the elevator. Just showing us how much we've progressed.

10:00 There is a huge irony in this scene, as few episodes ago they were refusing to take lessons from him (and ended up beating him) because "the titans were not the enemies, anymore". So not only the man they all turned against is now saving their lives, but defeating the titans, which were the very teachings he was giving them is now proving to be useful.

They should've at least wait with this until the training was over. Yaegerists can teach them nothing. That's why they literally dropped like flies back then, lol

He was like: I want you all to survive and that was what I tried to teach you from the start.
And the situation he found them in was caused directly be the two brothers. Zeke called the titans while Eren (for reasons that we don't have to discuss now) let the titans rampage over Paradis even after taking Zeke with him. So the both men they used to worship would be the direct cause of their death.

Remember Yelena's discuss about how the TWO brothers would save the save the world? That's why not only Yelena (someone who would follow Zeke to hell) tried her best to keep Eren safe while Zeke was not around, but also Floch (someone who would follow Eren to hell) tried to make sure no one would harm Zeke before the brothers meet again.
The thing is after the rumbling, yeah, the yeagerists are only those who remained with Eren and support the rumbling plan.
Chadis - no longer just a bystander
Jean really stepped up again as a leader. I always saw him as the true successor to Erwin (after Hange, of course. I don't want anything to happen to Hange, but poor Hange has been stressed out to the brim).

There's many times Jean lead Survey Corps even the in their training days he is good in decision making because he also sympathize weak.

Yeah right... finally someone mentioned it. I have seen so many reactions and post about this ep. but none of them talked about armin in action.
This is also the first time we see Jean killing a titan on screen since in 1x08 we know he did but it was out of screen since the others were also killing their own titans, after that we just saw him hurting them but never a kill. We also have never seen Connie or Sasha killing one on screen.

If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time we've seen Armin kill a titan with ODM gear onscreen. Unfortunate though that it was Pyxis.

connie is not necessarily acting out of character. he's always been the most impulsive scout after eren ofc, sasha grounded him cause the scouts are like family but after she died, he's formed a resentment towards not only scouts but eren specifically, bc to him it's like 'wtf were we even fighting for'. and now the rumbling has happened, the world is in chaos, there's an ongoing revolution in paradis and the scouts aren't safe anymore after pyxis gone and hange/levi gone, so he just prioritizes the person he loves the most and wants to use whichever opportunity to escape this war and live with his loved one. it's very normal, just as armin basically froze when he realized annie was alive, or gabi not wanting to fight anymore and just wanting to save falco,they're probably gonna be conflicted and distracted as well just like connie, it's a rlly similar pattern.
like you just have to realize how tired they are after fighting for 5+ years, they're all basically veterans now and you'll see them go through this conflict from now on, bc ppl really require a big reason, or motivation to go straight into war(which is why they put in a lot of effort to avoid it), which they lack as of now. you'll notice reiner lost weight, armins tired, connie basically ran away, mikasa's been conflicted and traumatized (eren told her he hates her this same day), jean's tired and traumatized, they all have to find it within themselves to continue whatever mission they have planned
I'm very proud of Mikasa, Armin, Jean and even Connie they become the best soldiers of paradis. Since Levi is kinda disappeared.
That titan attacked kaya was Nile.....#RIP Nile and rip pyxis😭😭
The Jean scene is exactly how I would have approached it. So much internal conflict I would probably be convincing myself this is the right thing to do because "they deserve it" when that line of thinking is EXACTLY why the AoT world is the way it is. Genocide won't stop human conflict as it has been mentioned many times in the story that humans won't stop fighting until 1 is left.
Conflict won't stop obviously but racially based hate and conflict towards eldians would stop that's what's being said they know there's no way to stop conlict completely there was literally 2 military coups on Paradis but they both had the same end goal

In his message to all subjects of Ymir, he said his goal is to protect his people on Paradis. So it's pretty clear that one big reason he's doing this is to save his friends. There's also that flashback to remind you of that.
You cant blame them for having some doubt tho.... With this show you never know lol

Armin's first confirmed titan kill of the show, very poetic
What’s interesting is how far Paradis has come when fighting titans. In the past seasons they would all get slaughtered and start pissing for their lives, but now it seems like they have a foe they’re more familiar with rather than human beings with advanced weaponry. Killing titans for the Eldians may not be a walk in the park, but they’re more proficient at taking them out now.
Thunderspears did most of the work this episode and they only came around Season 3 which is around the time the scouts stopped facing pure titans as their main enemies.

I don't think what Connie's doing is right but anyone who says they don't understand should really evaluate what they would do if their mother was in such a hellish state and they had to sacrifice the life of a stranger to restore her
Exactly! And people need to remember that Connie has also been through a lot. And honestly he’s never rlly been the same since sasha’s death. He’s lost everything and he just wanted to finally be able to bring his mom back. He’s always thought about her and the possibility of bringing her back since like season 2.
Not to forget that his father and younger brothers cannot be brought back.

He's not a genius like Armin or a combat demon like Mikasa or a Special Person like Eren. He's just a normal guy who's been trying to do what's right and it never works out for him. His whole family is gone, his friends betray him, his "other half" gets shot and killed right in front of him. He sees a chance to bring back his mom after all this? Of course he's going to take it.
It does seem kinda outta nowhere the first time you see it, but like basically everything else it makes a lot of sense once you look at it a bit more.

Gabi's character development is one of the best in this show. Like a kid going through all this shit, making mistakes, seeing everything from different POV, realizing she was wrong, and still trying. This scene with her, Kaya, and Nicolo is awesome, and when she asks him what should we do, It felt really for the first time like she's just a lost kid. Annie is finally back😂❤️
And killing waaaay too much people for no reason xD, u kinda forget that, how many people, bad, and good and kinda neutral people she killed before the character development .-. maybe 50 or more?
@@gonzalocornejo9267 who in this show didn't kill people? If we're gonna hate on any one who killed people, then there's no one to love in this show. This anime isn't black and white, it's realistic in its concepts. If you'r looking for the very pure character who's always kind, innocent, never makes mistakes, and never hurt a soul, then I hate to tell you this is the wrong one.
And in the war we don't ask why this person killed that person. Armin and Eren killed much more innocent people, just saying.
Your description of her could literally be about Eren as well, which is why I find her character so great. She's literally so similar to eren, yet people can't let go of their hatred towards her to see that. It's pretty funny, but also just genius writing by Isayama
@@LJlax20 exactly, we find excuses for Eren or any other character when we find it convenient because we love these characters. Also, yes I love the resemblance between them so much. They both grew up in different environments and look at them both now and what they have become.

Its weird that now, when eren isnt around with the gang, the show feels so uplifting 😵💫 even for a brief moment.
One of my favorite episaodes this season, the old school vibes with barricades playing in the background had me with chills the WHOLE time
I commented this somewhere else but this episode made me think a lot about when Pyxis was quoting someone else's phrase on Episode 11 of season 1:
- "If a power external threat were to appear, humanity would cease its wars and unite.” What do you think of that?
Maybe we had some foreshadowing there and just didn't think much of it. But now it's clear that this is exactly what's going on here. Eren became the biggest threat, the most powerful enemy of all times, and we're starting to see Marley and Paradis working together to try and stop him.

And eren replied with "it seems pretty stupid to me, titans are a great threat but we are not united at all" (I'm paraphrasing)
Pyxis stated that someome once ago said those words and we can pretty safely assume that it was the first king of the walls. Unfortunately, the show conveyed that the king's ideology was faulty. It pretty much works as foreshadowing for the opposite, as erwin said "people will continue fighting with each other until there is one or less humans left"

They recapped The Paths Eren speech to emphasize the "unhardening" of the walls to signify a a comeback of someone today :D

This episode just had so many emotional and amazing scenes. Seeing everyone starting to work together no matter who or what they were fighting for was just fantastic. There is so much to appreciate in this episode if you are a big aot fan. Also i feel like Connie's decision is extremly selfish but idk who i am to blame him, probably would of done the same in his situation. And a little fun fact, the scene where everyone jumps off with the thunder spears is a direct parallell to s1 when they were all trying to take out the titans in the supply room in season 1. The fact that Jean was the one screaming "fire" now when marco was the one who screamed "fire" back in season 1 aswell was so genius. Jean becoming the leader Marco always said Jean would become.
If you watched breaking bad you would know who Saul from "better call saul is" well actually Iseyama often draws famous peoples faces on titans throughout the show and manga, if you look closely when Armin and Connie are arguing the titan that charges at them is actually designed exactly like Saul. So much detail it's crazy.

You´re not supposed to "like" Gabi, you´re supposed to "understand" Gabi/ the authors intention with Gabi.
Alot of people fail at that, simplifing it to "Gabi shoot Sasha, I hate Gabi" without seeing how it came to that and how to break it.
when u look at gabi on perspective... she killed not only Sasha, but like other 40 people and a some of them innocent xd, so no, is not a character to "like", a lot of people got baited on the writing and love her now lul, bruh

Amazing callback episode! BTW, I think the first thing Annie heard was Eren's words. Remember that all the hardening came undone the minute the walls fell. Eren's declaration of mass genocide came a few moments after that. She might of been conscious enough to comprehend Eren's words. Talk about a rude awakening.
What surprised me of Jean was his suggestion about feeding Falco to Pyxis. This is the same guy that was against tossing kids off an airship, otherwise the cycle would never end. I wasn't expecting that from him.

I do think Eren’s main motivation is protecting his friends. Especially since when Zeke was about to scream, Eren yelled at him to wait. It felt like he was trying to avoid everyone turning into those titans. I’m not sure if he can fully control each and every titan rn though
I mean turning people into titans was mostly Zeke's plan. And Yaegerists, kinda.. meaning Eren alowed it, whatever.. but they are still his people, so it makes sense he still cares.

Legit he could have spoken with floch and the others to make it so it only *looked* like they drank the wine dumped the wine out and replaced it with good wine, then yelena would be none the wiser.

Connie's decision was definitely selfish but considering that he lost his family and Sasha, it makes sense that he'd want to save his family.
It's crazy Gabi has more character development than Mikasa, and she's only been in one season 😂 her character has definitely become one of the best in the show, just incredible writing

The point of armin was not that saving Falco would stop the Rumbling. His point is, that the Rumbling will destroy Marley and the whole world, why anger Reiner and his comrades even more by killing Falco which is completely unnecessary at that point. They lost utterly already.
I absolutely love that aot can have me hype from killing mindless titans even after 4 seasons. I love the scouts bruh.
