Kang falling into the engine could have been how he developed timeslipping and in Kang Dynasty we see him timeslip around the multiverse affecting things.
@@Eireternal the theory provided by this channel was that because he was sent through the time door by Sylvie using He Who Remain's technology, that that caused the timeslipping. But it wasn't confirmed in the show itself so still just a theory
None of the slipping made sense. Remember he was time slipping and could see himself in the past or future? Then next thing he is time slipping to the past into his same body so there isn’t two of him in one place. No one paid attention to that. They should have gave some explanation to that. I understand that if he went back in time to try to fix things over and over for centuries you can’t have 100, 000 lokis on screen, but explain it, sheesh

I think replacing Kang with doom based off of the failure of Quantumania is extremely idiotic. The main thing everyone praised was Kang & Jonathan Majors performance, and in Loki one of the best performances was from Kang. Kang isn’t the problem, it’s the direction that they’re taking him that is making him look less of a presence than what he actually is. If they could refocus and actually properly plan this out Kang could easily be seen as a major threat
Kang has been a mess, he's not a threat and he's not a very compelling character to begin with. They should have always been building towards Doom because Secret Wars has always been about Doom, not Kang.

Kang has been defeated. Twice now. We don't need a loser back -- it would simply destroy any reason for Loki Season 2 -- one of the best parts of phase 4 -- from even existing. Let's not retcon yet another freaking show's world building and character development.
Doom should’ve been introduced in Civil War, as Ross was addressing the Avengers about the Accords…he mentions that Sokovia has actually divided into two countries after AOU…the western part is still called Sokovia and is aligned with the US, hence the Accords but the eastern part is now Latveria and is ruled by one man…a call back to how eastern and western Germany divided after WW2…and from there we can see in the background Doom’s influence in gaining technology and weapons during Black Panther (vibranium) Ant Man and the Wasp (Pym particles) Black Widow (Taskmaster program) Captain America and the Winter Soldier (SS serum) then he could’ve had his own official intro, like Werewolf by Night…and feature a glimpse of the FF4 in it…now Doom is established and you can still have Kang as he has been in the MCU so far.
The MCU didn't have the rights to use Doom or the Fantastic 4 that early. They didn't get the rights till after End Game. Though that would have been cool.
This would help make sense of the hydra men from antman who left with the wannabe pym particles. Them working with Doom the whole time would have been a killer twist

Unless.... they know something about Majors we don't. They cannot bank BILLIONS off someone that might be canceled. Everything I've read about it indicates he's innocent and it's a false accusation. Marvel obviously has more info than us. But at same time, there would have to be some irrefutable evidence bc Majors's accuser and any prosecutors are essentially going up against one of the most powerful corporations on Earth. Which actually convinces me a different direction. Even if he were guilty, and. Marvel knew that, they can probably make it go away for an 8-figure amount. Give her $30 million and she'll change her story. But it cannot get out that Marvel paid her off. So it's a huge risk they may just want to avoid
Just show that Doom is researching the multiverse/timelines in every post credit scene until Secret Wars and that he's planning on taking the throne from Loki. Secret Wars 1 could be about Doom stomping all the multiversal heroes on his way to Loki. He would then dethrone Loki and destroy the timeline where the council of Kangs are hiding. Since all the Kangs are Johnathan Majors, they could say that Kang is a nexus being and the death of all of them causes massive amounts of incursions. Doom would use the loom throne to create battle world while Reed or Loki creates a lifeboat to save some of the multiversal heroes, setting up Secret Wars 2 and a phase of battle world movies. Secret Wars 2 would be about Reed/Loki and his team of heroes overthrowing Doom. Reed/Loki can create a singular timeline where the MCU can reboot with all of their characters and some of them could be returning actors while others could be new actors.
This unlike most bad guys in the MCU I want them to fight doom in more than one film. And not a two part film like they did Thanos I count that as one movie.
Doom should have came before Thanos or Kang. In Secret Wars he fights Thanos who is already killed off in the MCU so none of this seems like its going to work out right but I guess the can just pull the multiverse card or reincarnation card like they keep doing over and over.
According to the Weekly Planet Podcast Johnathan Majors had a clause in his contract where only he could play Kang variants. He did this realizing the potential of the Multiverse, once all his legal stuff gets resolved either he will void a morals clause or he goes back or something else.
I think it sucks they are trying to cancel him over legal issues that haven’t even played out. I understand production must go on, but there have been so many actors that have continued to play staring roles while their legal teams resolved issues.

This is how I think it should happen: Dr Doom was a brilliant scientist born into a wealthy family in latveria but after his mother and family died and his country went into poverty and ruins he created time travel technology and travelled throughout timelines meeting kang variants and in order to avoid being pruned by the tva he used kang variants as a decoy causing a war between them to distract the tva
To be fair to Kang - those weren't just 'ants' - they had highly evolved technology, each bigger in size compared to Kang and they vastly outnumbered him.

Kang was able to shoot Lazer beems from his hands , he had telekinesis (moving things with his mind) ,how do ants defeat that guy, even if those ants were worthy of lifting Mjolnir. They are still ants.

You have some great ideas here. I also agree that ditching kang is the wrong way to go. Your arguments for keeping him are much more compelling than mine and i hope they do keep him and let doom be another big bad on his own.
I like Ryan's ideas for rehabilitating Kang. I agree that the "He who remains" Kang was the best. But I think his best point was that regardless of what's decided, there needs to be good writers. Maybe they could hire him as a consultant :-)
I totally agree. Some of these channels have great ideas that would be beneficial to both MCU and DCEU. And they probably wouldn't have to pay them nearly as much, just let the channel(s) have some exclusive content and bragging rights.
You think HWR is the best because of season 2. Was he the best when you thought he died in season 1. The Kang from Antman will return and you will see what his plans are. Then he will be the best. You only have seen 2 Kangs for goodness sake!! 2. Victor Timely doesn't count. Even though he was menacing when he dropped Ramona off the boat.

Victor Timely never rose to the level of villain in my view. Anyway, I acknowledge it's possible they can find a better Kang, but of the 2 Kangs so far, he seemed by far the best to me.
I mean I didn't mind Kang losing in Quantumania, I wasn't aware of Kang at first and I found it weird that he died, but when I did some research on Kang and read the necessary sources, I understood why Kang lost. Kang is a character who cannot be beaten by death as easily as any other human. He always has a way to come back stronger, more threatening, and smarter to beat his enemies. He is a master manipulator of time and he knows how to shape it to his own will. How do you kill someone who controls his life as well as Kang? I mean, we literally witnessed it in Loki Season 2 when HWR explained that he won't just let himself get killed that easily without a plan. Getting rid of Kang entirely ruins his character as a threat because he is supposed to get beaten to come back stronger until he becomes almost unstoppable. Kang NEEDS to stay!!!
If the rumors about Majors's contract is true, recasting Kang would infringe on the agreement. His contract is said to include an exclusivity clause, meaning that any and all versions of Kang and his variants can only be portrayed by Johnathan Majors. A smart move by him, if it is true. It also makes the hasty switch to Dr. Doom understandable. I agree though that Marvel needs to commit to Kang to make this saga work. I think the key is He Who Remains and that the key power that can make him even more threatening is something we've already been introduced to in Loki Season 2: Time slipping. HWR knows about Time-Slipping and likely has mastered the ability. HWR likely has orchestrated Loki's ascension to the God of Stories so that Loki will hold things together for him while the Multiversal War reignites and he can go on to defeat his own variants without worrying to hold the multiverse together. Also, having Loki perched at the end of time holding the strands of time actively removes him from interfering in the multiversal war. This is because he can't just prune or let go of one branch to save countless others. He needs to hold them all or risk having countless others escape his grasp. Loki's new glorious purpose is to allow the multiverse to exist, not prune or interfere. That's the new role the TVA has in this continuation.

In the Secret Wars (comic) Doom specifically mentions Kang is a future version(variant) of himself. I could see them using that to transition from Kang to Doom.
It would be funny if they put that thing down flipped it and reversed it. I'd love to see an evil louder, more arrogant Doom just zapping a Kang variant and laughing as they dust away mocking Vader's "Luke i am your father"

The Multiverse is a franchise killer and Kang is integrated tightly with the Multiverse. Frankly, my favorite stories are when the stakes are a person, neighborhood or city (see Batman, Spider-Man, …). Comic books are a lot about the graphic images and benefit from wild images, but wild images in movies just break the immersion. When they are in the quantum realm I just find myself zoning out and losing the outlandish aspects of the plot. I look at the background for interesting images while losing the plot and stakes.
No Doom should not replace Kang. Doom should get his own story. Thanos too a long time to set up, and doing this would be a waste of building up Kang and weaken Doom.
@@BaithNa Sure but switching to Doom would mean all of this time, and all of this build up would have been a waste. It would also appear, to those on the outside, that the loud minority on Twitter would have gotten their way (again). If you think the backlash over The Marvels is bad this would be worse in comparison. There is not enough time between now and Secret Wars / Kang Dynasty to establish Doom in the movies. Thanos was introduced in Avengers (2012) and hit the big screen in full 6 years later. Doom needs similar time of which there is not enough of.
I don't think Kang should be recast (unless he is found guilty). I hope Marvel is writing the Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars now, doing principle filming, and then working backwards this way if Majors is needing to be recast then they would have done all the necessary work and filming they needed to complete the saga. Even without this issue with Majors after this phase they were not going to use Kang again.
I originally predicted that Doom would be introduced as a Kang variant during Loki, even thinking that Victor Timely would become Victor Von Doom. This can still be done to an extent, and would probably be the best way to introduce him at this point.
I think he was also referred to as a doctor at some point. Considering that "Timely" is clearly a stage name, his actual last name isn't revealed. I assumed given all of this, that they were setting Victor Timely up to become Dr. Doom.
I feel like giving the “original” Kang the power of the Beyonder in Kang Dynasty and having his appearance be a massive event only for that power to be stolen by Doom in Secret Wars Part 1 is a way to get the best of both worlds.
I think the end of Loki perfectly sets up a return of Kang, that is actually orchestrated by Dr Doom. Since Loki is the God of Time/Stories, and he just ended a situation with Kang, he’s going to think the threat is Kang. That give Doom the space to manipulate things behind the scenes, and completely avoid Loki & the TVA who are focused on Kang.
My opinion is Kang is being dealt with by the TVA, right? There should be no way he'll ever be a problem again. Let Doctor Doom be the villain for phase 4 or 5, another big one for 5 or 6, and... So remember when I said the TVA had it handled? Yeah so that's out of hand now. Set him up as the next big bad to end a saga, they didn't cram Thanos as a primary villain in every other marvel film for a reason

Those monstrous accusations against JM, they impacted the character of Kang more adversely than Quantumania. Even if he's found not guilty... It's just a mess. Based on acting skills alone, he's good enough to save that character's arc. We'll see what happens.
Doom needs his own movie to introduce him. Give bits of the backstory in flashbacks, but have Dr. Doom protect Latveria from invaders but have him be ruthless in that defense. No mercy. It creates complexity to his character that makes him a relatable villain. Much like Magneto.
That would be cool but as much as I love marvel, they can't pull of multiple major villains at the same time. Not in the infinity saga and not now. Maybe in the future but I dont think that kang would last that long
This is all under the assumption that Doom wasn't the plan the whole time. When they announces Kang Dynasty followed by Secret Wars, i digured KD would end with Kang beating all the heroes only for Doom to swoop in and demolish Kang. What better way to show how dangerous he is than for him to just wipe the floor with someone who just beat all the Avengers.
THANK YOU! I've been thinking about Quantum Entanglement being the decisive factor between Kang's variants since Loki s1, and given the context Quantumania provided... Well, it might just as well be the key piece that puts all this chaos together (including irl issues, recasting and such). Also agreed 100%, Kang can't just be benched after these last 2 years. Specially when F4, A5 and Secret Wars are so close to each other in terms of release dates.
Marvel should fully commit to this version of Kang. Have Kang assume the entire role of Doom in the lead-up to Secret Wars. The Kang variant we see in Quantumania becomes he who remains. They are the same variant at different times in their narrative. Kang the conqueror wasn't killed he was cast into the void at the end of time. From here he is outside the normal flow of tie and evades other Kangs and Loki. It is there that he meets and tames Alioth. He will use Alioth to wage a revenge campaign against other variants. He hopscotch reality recovering weapons from various heroes and adding to his arsenal- stealing the ten rings, the quantum bands, and celestial tech, Tiamat’s body becomes the citadel at the end of time.ect. Kang or his variants should connect to every hero. Immortus fights Thor and Hercules, Scarlet Centurion fights Shang Chi, Iron Lad forms the Young Avengers, and Rama Tut Fights the Fantastic Four. He who remains’ threat grows every time he is successful in reclaiming his power. Each variant he who remains defeats he absorbs their essence and power. Slowly he eliminates all rivals. Each time he does so he creates an incursion and destroys the reality of the Kang he killed in the process. Like Doom in the secret wars, Kang gathers survivors of these realities to work as his black swan harbingers. The Black swans fight against Dr. Strange, Clea, and their black priests. Eventually, Kang should weaponize Loki the way Doom weaponized Molecules man in the comics so he can absorb every remaining Kang’s essence. Doing so triggers the end of everything and the battle world is crafted from the remains. He who remains or his variants would appear in Deadpool 3, Thor 5, Eternals 2, Shang Chi 2, Dr. Strange 3, and Young Avengers. His influence should also be felt in the Sony movies more subtly by working with the villains of those movies. Doing this might risk overexposure but the scale of the threat is emphasized.
I think it's the writers and the directors problem in making the movies/story good. As much as I love Major's performance, the writers and directors ruined it. Re-writes and changing shit doesn't make it better not to mention what has been happening outside Marvel and that chick just ruining his image. I love his acting alot! I hope they keep him and give him great character development and have us, the fans, connect and be attached to him like we did in Loki Season 2!

I agree, Doom is miles ahead of Kang in popularity. However, my real concern is that they will bungle Doom like they have the the last few times they have tried to do him. Every cinematic Doom has fallen on his face and burned. Nothing against the actors that have portrayed him, but NONE have had the gravitas, one would need to play Victor Von Doom. So I hope they get this one right but I'm not holding my breath on this one. Ryan, Thank you very much for an excellent video and much respect for the time and energy you put in to these. Saying Marvel’s problems all lie within the writing hits the nail on the head. It doesn’t matter which way they go, the writing has to be on point. Disney screwed it up with their greed and allowing anyone with a little bit of talent do what they wanted instead of sticking to the storyline. Now we have a ton of characters that showed up and disappeared. That’s one of the most frustrating things for me.
the difference between ALL other superhero movies and shows and Marvel movies up until tthe last few years is the great writing and stories. without that, everything is basically SharkNado or whatever is on Sci-Fi channel
I’ve only known Doom from the old F4 movies (As I’m not that well into comic lore yet) an based on those, I would wait an finish Kang. As a non comic book reader tbh I just didn’t find both iterations of Doom not interesting. If all my friends who read comics are right an Doom is as awesome as he is I’d rather marvel take the time need with Doom and just finish Kang.
A bizarre creative choice to tease a villain as menacing as Kang, tease his return in Kang Dynasty but still continue to dish out villain after villain in their movies and expect the audience to care about their overall contribution to the phase story. Loki has twice set the foundation on where the story should go, just follow that route. The audience already knows what lies at the end of the MCU story. No one cares what the Marvels are doing in space if it doesn't add any strong context to the overall storyline.
Doom was always supposed to replace Kang. The difference is it was supposed to be a shock twist that left the audience stunned. Now, it's a move we're now being told to expect from far away. I don't know how that change improves the story but we'll see...
I like your ideas and keeping Kang in it, even if it does sound a bit like Crisis on Infinite Earths. If you still have to recast Kang though for actor issues, then I go with Boyega. He could pass as a younger version of Kang or perhaps one of his variants who put his mind toward staying eternally young.
The essence of Kang's power was two fold. He's from the "future"; he knows everything about the heroes and already has counters for everything. Second, he can't be defeated because he always travels through time with endless variants and do overs.

He's got that Admiral Thrawn vibe in that he'll allow a "defeat" so that he can set up his next strategy. And him not recognizing Scott seemed like a flex: He's killed so many Avengers in his lifetime that he can't tell them apart.
Wow. The suggestion of having Doom replace Clea in Multiverse of Madness is such a huge improvement. Imagine if they did that and then had Doom appear in a post credit’s scene of Wakanda Forever. Then had Doom show up in Quantumania’s post credit scene alongside the Council of Kangs in the arena. Just having a through line would make people so much more excited for the MCU.

I really think there is plenty of time to introduce Doctor Doom. Just introduce him in Thunderbolts. I do also, however think that Kang is baked into the story but he hasn’t necessarily set himself up to be the ultimate villain and can easily be moved to a “dragon” role. ;”Dragon” is essentially a villain in a story who does a lot of the leg work. Think Darth Vader in Star Wars.
@@mrnegativepredictsthefuture I don’t know necessarily what the plot of Captain America 4 will be, but it rumored to be a globe trotting political thriller where everyone fights over adamantium. The Thunderbolts is supposed to be a follow up to that story. I assume Wakanda as well as every other major nation will have a vested interest in who ends up with this metal. This is a good opportunity to introduce Latveria into that conflict. Have Doctor Doom be a master manipulator in Thunderbolts who is maybe even pulling the strings of the events of Cap4 the whole time (potentially even having a hand in the creation of Red Hulk). There could even be a scene where the Thunderbolts go to Latveria and get their asses handed to them by Doom. I think Sentry(The Void) is supposed to be the final “villain” of the Thunderbolts, but Doom could definitely be a key player in the story. After that, it’s just a matter of placing him in influential roles in different movies (Doctor Strange3, FF, Armor Wars) and allow him to take center stage in Secret Wars. Then after Secret Wars, keep Doom around. Don’t kill him off.
I don’t think the end of Loki cut out Kang. What Loki did was allow the multiverse to exist. Meaning hes allowed the Kang variants to exist, so if they stick with Kang then Avengers 5 will likely include the TVA coming in to help
The best I think they can do without replacing Kang is just to have the council go after Loki directly somehow and then they fight over who is going to rule over the multiverse but in their conflict causes the Multiverse to collapse and needing to be rebuilt in secret wars
That's not true because Majors' countersuit against his accuser was immediately thrown out because he didn't have any evidence of her doing anything wrong.

I completely disagree. Every time we have seen Kang on screen we see him lose. He is not being built up as a threatening or powerful character. Dr Doom is one of Marvel’s best known and popular villains. With the issues Marvel is having right now, switching to Doom is their best play. Hopefully they do Doom well.
One of the biggest easter egg that none of these channels talk about is the conversation Loki and He Who Remains had about "Losing". Loki said something along the lines of always Losing and He Who Remains said he knows about losing...
Your videos offer very solid ideas and is creatively interesting. I don’t understand how you can come up with such an amazing interesting story arc for Kang and you have high paid creators/executives that come up with any man defeating Kang solo.
Embracing the multiverse's narrative potential by recasting Kang and introducing him as a distinct variant could be a masterstroke by Marvel Studios. This new Kang could be portrayed as a formidable adversary, surpassing even the threat posed by the Council of Kangs we encountered in Quantumania. A scene depicting this new variant and his legion of counterparts obliterating the Council of Kangs would effectively establish this iteration as an even more menacing force. This narrative shift would also provide further context for the 'original' Kangs' efforts to prevent their counterparts from breaching the multiverse. The line "They are starting to touch the multiverse" could allude to the impending arrival of these alternate Kangs in the primary MCU timeline.
Imagine having a good villain that they give a bad story for, and then blame the bad story for why ppl may not like the character. Everyone loves Kang and want to see him in the story going forward. Yea Majors isn't looking so good because of a court case, but even still the character has massive support.
I think the MCU can fix everything by just USING their S tier/most popular villains and heroes, instead of the ones that no one has even heard of (talking about the non comic book fans). Things like Batman movies, spiderman movies, and Superman movies CRUSH because the average person recognize them and probably even know their basic lore
What if they try to claim that Doom is a Variant of Kang? They could try to just duck tape Doom to Kang to try and pretend he was there the whole time and label him as like a rogue variant similar to Sylvie. I’m not saying this is a good idea but it could be a what if scenario.

Kang is the "Descenedant" of Reed Richards but Victor Timely is from the past (year 1868 as a child shown on Loki 2) and is older than Reed given the MCU timeline. So how is that he is still the descendant?
Without watching the video, Im going to say that replacing Kang with Doom is a terrible idea. I get the legal issues with Majors... so cutting his run early might be necessary... but if you just shoehorn in Doom, you also end up doing a massive disservice to one of the most important "villains" in the MCU. Doom deserves a legit build up, this time.
If they HAVE to switch to Doom, it would be an amazing way to introduce him by making Kang dynasty and KANG winning then right at the end Dr.Doom just somehow comes in and kills him and all his variants to prove his power up front and then end of movie
I’m just going to say that, while I like kang as a big bad, if they do decide to go with doom, I absolutely want it to be Henry cavil. I’d love for him to be a good guy and get treated well long term, but being an avengers level bad guy would be incredible.

Here's a curveball idea that'll make everyone happy: keep Kang going into The Kang Dynasty and have the "prime" Kang defeat all his variants and have the heroes on their last legs and then out of nowhere the Parliament of Doom shows up and kills Kang. The Parliament of Doom then takes Kang's place and save the multiverse by creating Battleworld setting up the Parliament of Doom to be the main antagonists in the Secret Wars. Kang gets to defeat his variants, Doom gets to be the main antagonist and gets all the power, everyone wins.

I think replacing Kang with doom based off of the failure of Quantumania is extremely idiotic. The main thing everyone praised was Kang & Jonathan Majors performance, and in Loki one of the best performances was from Kang. Kang isn’t the problem, it’s the direction that they’re taking him that is making him look less of a presence than what he actually is. If they could refocus and actually properly plan this out Kang could easily be seen as a major threat

Kang has been defeated. Twice now. We don't need a loser back -- it would simply destroy any reason for Loki Season 2 -- one of the best parts of phase 4 -- from even existing. Let's not retcon yet another freaking show's world building and character development.
Doom should’ve been introduced in Civil War, as Ross was addressing the Avengers about the Accords…he mentions that Sokovia has actually divided into two countries after AOU…the western part is still called Sokovia and is aligned with the US, hence the Accords but the eastern part is now Latveria and is ruled by one man…a call back to how eastern and western Germany divided after WW2…and from there we can see in the background Doom’s influence in gaining technology and weapons during Black Panther (vibranium) Ant Man and the Wasp (Pym particles) Black Widow (Taskmaster program) Captain America and the Winter Soldier (SS serum) then he could’ve had his own official intro, like Werewolf by Night…and feature a glimpse of the FF4 in it…now Doom is established and you can still have Kang as he has been in the MCU so far.
The MCU didn't have the rights to use Doom or the Fantastic 4 that early. They didn't get the rights till after End Game. Though that would have been cool.
This would help make sense of the hydra men from antman who left with the wannabe pym particles. Them working with Doom the whole time would have been a killer twist

Just show that Doom is researching the multiverse/timelines in every post credit scene until Secret Wars and that he's planning on taking the throne from Loki. Secret Wars 1 could be about Doom stomping all the multiversal heroes on his way to Loki. He would then dethrone Loki and destroy the timeline where the council of Kangs are hiding.
Since all the Kangs are Johnathan Majors, they could say that Kang is a nexus being and the death of all of them causes massive amounts of incursions. Doom would use the loom throne to create battle world while Reed or Loki creates a lifeboat to save some of the multiversal heroes, setting up Secret Wars 2 and a phase of battle world movies.
Secret Wars 2 would be about Reed/Loki and his team of heroes overthrowing Doom. Reed/Loki can create a singular timeline where the MCU can reboot with all of their characters and some of them could be returning actors while others could be new actors.

Doom should have came before Thanos or Kang. In Secret Wars he fights Thanos who is already killed off in the MCU so none of this seems like its going to work out right but I guess the can just pull the multiverse card or reincarnation card like they keep doing over and over.

According to the Weekly Planet Podcast Johnathan Majors had a clause in his contract where only he could play Kang variants. He did this realizing the potential of the Multiverse, once all his legal stuff gets resolved either he will void a morals clause or he goes back or something else.

This is how I think it should happen: Dr Doom was a brilliant scientist born into a wealthy family in latveria but after his mother and family died and his country went into poverty and ruins he created time travel technology and travelled throughout timelines meeting kang variants and in order to avoid being pruned by the tva he used kang variants as a decoy causing a war between them to distract the tva
To be fair to Kang - those weren't just 'ants' - they had highly evolved technology, each bigger in size compared to Kang and they vastly outnumbered him.

I like Ryan's ideas for rehabilitating Kang. I agree that the "He who remains" Kang was the best. But I think his best point was that regardless of what's decided, there needs to be good writers. Maybe they could hire him as a consultant :-)
I totally agree. Some of these channels have great ideas that would be beneficial to both MCU and DCEU. And they probably wouldn't have to pay them nearly as much, just let the channel(s) have some exclusive content and bragging rights.
You think HWR is the best because of season 2. Was he the best when you thought he died in season 1. The Kang from Antman will return and you will see what his plans are. Then he will be the best. Victor Timely never rose to the level of villain in my view. Anyway, I acknowledge it's possible they can find a better Kang, but of the 2 Kangs so far, he seemed by far the best to me.
HWR is pretty solid. Victor Timely performance was horrendous. I miss Thanos.
I mean I didn't mind Kang losing in Quantumania, I wasn't aware of Kang at first and I found it weird that he died, but when I did some research on Kang and read the necessary sources, I understood why Kang lost. Kang is a character who cannot be beaten by death as easily as any other human. He always has a way to come back stronger, more threatening, and smarter to beat his enemies. He is a master manipulator of time and he knows how to shape it to his own will. How do you kill someone who controls his life as well as Kang? I mean, we literally witnessed it in Loki Season 2 when HWR explained that he won't just let himself get killed that easily without a plan. Getting rid of Kang entirely ruins his character as a threat because he is supposed to get beaten to come back stronger until he becomes almost unstoppable. Kang NEEDS to stay!!!
If the rumors about Majors's contract is true, recasting Kang would infringe on the agreement. His contract is said to include an exclusivity clause, meaning that any and all versions of Kang and his variants can only be portrayed by Johnathan Majors. A smart move by him, if it is true. It also makes the hasty switch to Dr. Doom understandable.
I agree though that Marvel needs to commit to Kang to make this saga work. I think the key is He Who Remains and that the key power that can make him even more threatening is something we've already been introduced to in Loki Season 2: Time slipping.
HWR knows about Time-Slipping and likely has mastered the ability. HWR likely has orchestrated Loki's ascension to the God of Stories so that Loki will hold things together for him while the Multiversal War reignites and he can go on to defeat his own variants without worrying to hold the multiverse together. Also, having Loki perched at the end of time holding the strands of time actively removes him from interfering in the multiversal war. This is because he can't just prune or let go of one branch to save countless others. He needs to hold them all or risk having countless others escape his grasp. Loki's new glorious purpose is to allow the multiverse to exist, not prune or interfere. That's the new role the TVA has in this continuation.

The Multiverse is a franchise killer and Kang is integrated tightly with the Multiverse. Frankly, my favorite stories are when the stakes are a person, neighborhood or city (see Batman, Spider-Man, …). Comic books are a lot about the graphic images and benefit from wild images, but wild images in movies just break the immersion. When they are in the quantum realm I just find myself zoning out and losing the outlandish aspects of the plot. I look at the background for interesting images while losing the plot and stakes.
Do not replace Majors. He's a great actor, and I've enjoyed him and his different portrayals of Kang thus far.
No Doom should not replace Kang. Doom should get his own story. Thanos too a long time to set up, and doing this would be a waste of building up Kang and weaken Doom.
Secret Wars has always been about Doom, not Kang.

If you think the backlash over The Marvels is bad this would be worse in comparison. There is not enough time between now and Secret Wars / Kang Dynasty to establish Doom in the movies. Thanos was introduced in Avengers (2012) and hit the big screen in full 6 years later. Doom needs similar time of which there is not enough of.

I don't think Kang should be recast (unless he is found guilty). I hope Marvel is writing the Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars now, doing principle filming, and then working backwards this way if Majors is needing to be recast then they would have done all the necessary work and filming they needed to complete the saga. Even without this issue with Majors after this phase they were not going to use Kang again.
I originally predicted that Doom would be introduced as a Kang variant during Loki, even thinking that Victor Timely would become Victor Von Doom. This can still be done to an extent, and would probably be the best way to introduce him at this point.
I think he was also referred to as a doctor at some point. Considering that "Timely" is clearly a stage name, his actual last name isn't revealed. I assumed given all of this, that they were setting Victor Timely up to become Dr. Doom.
I feel like giving the “original” Kang the power of the Beyonder in Kang Dynasty and having his appearance be a massive event only for that power to be stolen by Doom in Secret Wars Part 1 is a way to get the best of both worlds.

I think the end of Loki perfectly sets up a return of Kang, that is actually orchestrated by Dr Doom. Since Loki is the God of Time/Stories, and he just ended a situation with Kang, he’s going to think the threat is Kang. That give Doom the space to manipulate things behind the scenes, and completely avoid Loki & the TVA who are focused on Kang.

Those monstrous accusations against JM, they impacted the character of Kang more adversely than Quantumania. Even if he's found not guilty... It's just a mess. Based on acting skills alone, he's good enough to save that character's arc. We'll see what happens.

Doom needs his own movie to introduce him. Give bits of the backstory in flashbacks, but have Dr. Doom protect Latveria from invaders but have him be ruthless in that defense. No mercy. It creates complexity to his character that makes him a relatable villain. Much like Magneto.

This is all under the assumption that Doom wasn't the plan the whole time. When they announces Kang Dynasty followed by Secret Wars, i digured KD would end with Kang beating all the heroes only for Doom to swoop in and demolish Kang. What better way to show how dangerous he is than for him to just wipe the floor with someone who just beat all the Avengers.

Marvel should fully commit to this version of Kang. Have Kang assume the entire role of Doom in the lead-up to Secret Wars. The Kang variant we see in Quantumania becomes he who remains. They are the same variant at different times in their narrative. Kang the conqueror wasn't killed he was cast into the void at the end of time. From here he is outside the normal flow of tie and evades other Kangs and Loki. It is there that he meets and tames Alioth. He will use Alioth to wage a revenge campaign against other variants. He hopscotch reality recovering weapons from various heroes and adding to his arsenal- stealing the ten rings, the quantum bands, and celestial tech, Tiamat’s body becomes the citadel at the end of time.ect. Kang or his variants should connect to every hero. Immortus fights Thor and Hercules, Scarlet Centurion fights Shang Chi, Iron Lad forms the Young Avengers, and Rama Tut Fights the Fantastic Four.
He who remains’ threat grows every time he is successful in reclaiming his power. Each variant he who remains defeats he absorbs their essence and power. Slowly he eliminates all rivals. Each time he does so he creates an incursion and destroys the reality of the Kang he killed in the process. Like Doom in the secret wars, Kang gathers survivors of these realities to work as his black swan harbingers. The Black swans fight against Dr. Strange, Clea, and their black priests. Eventually, Kang should weaponize Loki the way Doom weaponized Molecules man in the comics so he can absorb every remaining Kang’s essence. Doing so triggers the end of everything and the battle world is crafted from the remains.
He who remains or his variants would appear in Deadpool 3, Thor 5, Eternals 2, Shang Chi 2, Dr. Strange 3, and Young Avengers. His influence should also be felt in the Sony movies more subtly by working with the villains of those movies.
Doing this might risk overexposure but the scale of the threat is emphasized.
I think it's the writers and the directors problem in making the movies/story good. As much as I love Major's performance, the writers and directors ruined it. Re-writes and changing shit doesn't make it better not to mention what has been happening outside Marvel and that chick just ruining his image.

I agree, Doom is miles ahead of Kang in popularity. However, my real concern is that they will bungle Doom like they have the the last few times they have tried to do him. Every cinematic Doom has fallen on his face and burned. Nothing against the actors that have portrayed him, but NONE have had the gravitas, one would need to play Victor Von Doom. So I hope they get this one right but I'm not holding my breath on this one. Ryan, Thank you very much for an excellent video and much respect for the time and energy you put in to these. Saying Marvel’s problems all lie within the writing hits the nail on the head. It doesn’t matter which way they go, the writing has to be on point. Disney screwed it up with their greed and allowing anyone with a little bit of talent do what they wanted instead of sticking to the storyline. Now we have a ton of characters that showed up and disappeared. That’s one of the most frustrating things for me.
the difference between ALL other superhero movies and shows and Marvel movies up until tthe last few years is the great writing and stories. without that, everything is basically SharkNado or whatever is on Sci-Fi channel

I’ve only known Doom from the old F4 movies (As I’m not that well into comic lore yet) an based on those, I would wait an finish Kang. As a non comic book reader tbh I just didn’t find both iterations of Doom not interesting. If all my friends who read comics are right an Doom is as awesome as he is I’d rather marvel take the time need with Doom and just finish Kang.
A bizarre creative choice to tease a villain as menacing as Kang, tease his return in Kang Dynasty but still continue to dish out villain after villain in their movies and expect the audience to care about their overall contribution to the phase story. Loki has twice set the foundation on where the story should go, just follow that route. The audience already knows what lies at the end of the MCU story. No one cares what the Marvels are doing in space if it doesn't add any strong context to the overall storyline.
Kang should have gotten an origin movie. Cast a great actor and give dr doom his own origin movie
Doom was always supposed to replace Kang. The difference is it was supposed to be a shock twist that left the audience stunned. Now, it's a move we're now being told to expect from far away. I don't know how that change improves the story but we'll see...

If you still have to recast Kang though for actor issues, then I go with Boyega. He could pass as a younger version of Kang or perhaps one of his variants who put his mind toward staying eternally young.
The thing about Boyega is he’s been a vocal critic of how the sequel trilogy handled Finn. So I don’t know if he'd want to work with Disney again.

The essence of Kang's power was two fold. He's from the "future"; he knows everything about the heroes and already has counters for everything. Second, he can't be defeated because he always travels through time with endless variants and do overs.
But he couldn't tell the difference between Antman and Thor and he's died in every appearance he's made so none of that applies to the MCU Kang.

Imagine if they did that and then had Doom appear in a post credit’s scene of Wakanda Forever. Then had Doom show up in Quantumania’s post credit scene alongside the Council of Kangs in the arena. Just having a through line would make people so much more excited for the MCU.

I really think there is plenty of time to introduce Doctor Doom. Just introduce him in Thunderbolts. I do also, however think that Kang is baked into the story but he hasn’t necessarily set himself up to be the ultimate villain and can easily be moved to a “dragon” role.

@@mrnegativepredictsthefuture I don’t know necessarily what the plot of Captain America 4 will be, but it rumored to be a globe trotting political thriller where everyone fights over adamantium. The Thunderbolts is supposed to be a follow up to that story. I assume Wakanda as well as every other major nation will have a vested interest in who ends up with this metal. This is a good opportunity to introduce Latveria into that conflict. Have Doctor Doom be a master manipulator in Thunderbolts who is maybe even pulling the strings of the events of Cap4 the whole time (potentially even having a hand in the creation of Red Hulk). There could even be a scene where the Thunderbolts go to Latveria and get their asses handed to them by Doom. I think Sentry(The Void) is supposed to be the final “villain” of the Thunderbolts, but Doom could definitely be a key player in the story. After that, it’s just a matter of placing him in influential roles in different movies (Doctor Strange3, FF, Armor Wars) and allow him to take center stage in Secret Wars. Then after Secret Wars, keep Doom around. Don’t kill him off.

I don’t think the end of Loki cut out Kang. What Loki did was allow the multiverse to exist. Meaning hes allowed the Kang variants to exist, so if they stick with Kang then Avengers 5 will likely include the TVA coming in to help
The best I think they can do without replacing Kang is just to have the council go after Loki directly somehow and then they fight over who is going to rule over the multiverse but in their conflict causes the Multiverse to collapse and needing to be rebuilt in secret wars

I completely disagree. Every time we have seen Kang on screen we see him lose. He is not being built up as a threatening or powerful character. Dr Doom is one of Marvel’s best known and popular villains. With the issues Marvel is having right now, switching to Doom is their best play. Hopefully they do Doom well.

Yea Majors isn't looking so good because of a court case, but even still the character has massive support.

I think the MCU can fix everything by just USING their S tier/most popular villains and heroes, instead of the ones that no one has even heard of (talking about the non comic book fans). What if they try to claim that Doom is a Variant of Kang? They could try to just duck tape Doom to Kang to try and pretend he was there the whole time and label him as like a rogue variant similar to Sylvie. I’m not saying this is a good idea but it could be a what if scenario.

Kang is the "Descenedant" of Reed Richards but Victor Timely is from the past (year 1868 as a child shown on Loki 2) and is older than Reed given the MCU timeline. So how is that he is still the descendant?
Without watching the video, Im going to say that replacing Kang with Doom is a terrible idea. I get the legal issues with Majors... so cutting his run early might be necessary... but if you just shoehorn in Doom, you also end up doing a massive disservice to one of the most important "villains" in the MCU. Doom deserves a legit build up, this time.

I’m just going to say that, while I like kang as a big bad, if they do decide to go with doom, I absolutely want it to be Henry cavil. I’d love for him to be a good guy and get treated well long term, but being an avengers level bad guy would be incredible.

Start introducing Doom as a hero, then have him be the deciding factor to beat Kang in Kang dynasty. Only for him to betray our heros, leading to secret wars.
Here's a curveball idea that'll make everyone happy: keep Kang going into The Kang Dynasty and have the "prime" Kang defeat all his variants and have the heroes on their last legs and then out of nowhere the Parliament of Doom shows up and kills Kang. The Parliament of Doom then takes Kang's place and save the multiverse by creating Battleworld setting up the Parliament of Doom to be the main antagonists in the Secret Wars. Kang gets to defeat his variants, Doom gets to be the main antagonist and gets all the power, everyone wins.
