I saw a graph on the All-In podcast, and it showed how much Meta is going to spend in 10 years compared to the production of the iPhone, Tesla's Model S. Meta will spend 25 billion, the iPhone was produced for 3.6 billion (before Apple saw return of capital), and Tesla spent 5 billion on the Model S. So, you have to ask yourself, is this going to be worth it in the end?

They are demoing a wristband that detects micro muscle nerual activity and uses that as device input - however, it's just a fake/staged demo - and these kinds of demos for the exact same thing have existed for a decade on kickstarter.... Meta aren't any further than a conceptual demo reallly. But nevertheless, my point is still that this idea of doing micro muscle hand gestures to control a interface in your head set display is just rediculous at this point in time... No ones is gonna want to do that, that is my absolute set in stone belif. I'm sure that's gonna change - 15 years from now, when this headset fits inside a contact lens, and the micro gesture reading comes directly from your brain and not from your toes and fingers movement. But meta's bet on this inbetween phase is just hilarious to me. The board members in meta's ability to ignore criticism and to be stubbon about an idea even though all sharehodlers are sellling and exiting, is not just arrogant, it's dangerours - and it might be their fall.
I could be wrong obviously, but I don't think I am. And if I am, I will absolutly admint it, and give HUGE credits to Meta for being stubbon when everyone else was laughin and booing. Time will show 🙂
Welcome to the world of Game Reality
Hey guys
Cool video.
The part where you talk about spatial audio, you mentioned that meta is creating this tech specifically. Well what you were experiencing is not new at all, this technology is not new neither created by meta. There is tons of research in this field
Great video! Wearable Devices’ Mudra band also performs neurological detection but using surface nerve conductance which has shown to be far more accurate than CTRL Labs’ muscle-based device at precision gesture and pressure control.
In this talk, they mention showing eyes on the front of the headset just like Apple Vision Pro... Just goes to show you that Meta has already built similar devices than the Apple Vision Pro in their research labs.
Imagine you sent the wrong message and said, "Sorry my arm is twitching."
lmao You can do this on an Apple Watch since last year (Accessibility hand gestures)
Idk but if these tech showed to us normal people that’s means most of the big tech companies already know it and working on their own version. Is fascinating to see technology growing but still we need to wait for other companies to surprise us😂
Without users, the product will stop production and It's just a matter of time
Just one question, how are they gonna fix that I dont puke after 5mins of moving with a vr set.
I had motion sickness too when I started using VR, but it went away after a week or so. Just use it a little bit at a time and let yourself adjust. Once you're comfortable, VR is awesome.
Really looking forward to playing the video games that come out of this!!
It is a good thing for humanity that millionaire like Mark pours his money for making new way of using new techknowledge.
Umm u have gesture control already with every apple watch?
Its cool and all but I don't see this becoming a thing anytime soon. We're probably 20 years out at best
That will be determined by the gap it bridges. Once everyone helps to 4d scan the world around them, then we will have a true meta verse
I love the macbooks that have stickers stick over the apple logo
are they using Unity Engine for the demos 😍? who noticed Unity's Endless Runner asset
The stock got hammered and their was many memes but their research is amazing.
This concept has been around since the 80's.
If they were not falling down. they would not show this tech.
Anyone else here after the '22 Q3 earnings report?
Apple currently does this with an accessibility feature on Apple Watch
He knows Facebook is dead, he is trying to convert the company into a true tech company and not a Ad based company it has been
Need this in all emergency rooms and hospitals and doctor's offices
To do what? I didn't see a particular use case for healthcare personnel that should otherwise be focused on providing immediate care for the patients who are present and in need
No, we don't
@@JDubbs07 In the future they want to use this technology to train surgeons for high risk surgery for instance.
Thank you. Amazing display
Metta will runout of money before it get this metaverse anywhere, and still noone know what is the metaverse anyway
*20yearslater*
stranger: "Is your kid throwing up gang signs???"
Me: "No, he's doing homework in the metaverse"
ummm, sad to say but I call BS in these demos..starting at 2:50, dudes finger on his left hand seems to be triggering the response. I was gonna let that one go til I saw the next clip of the other guy swiping the exact movements the cat was making....very suspect. basically why front. why invite someone just to not give them a legit performance. I could be wrong, but doubtful lol
These people deserve to go out of business.
This is awesome! Nothing is deeper than the drive of man!
❤️✌🏾🦅💯😳🤔
The Holy Spirit works better. It cuts right through BS, and everything hidden. Great device if used for the betterment of people not, for any other reason.
Prayerfully, it’s safe for everybody even our love ones.
Thanks for sharing.
God bless you❤️✌🏾🦅
So before, Mark invests everything in Meta, He should make a new service for Facebook where people can have video conference discussions with other people of the same age with similar interests Regardless if they are friends or not, maybe friends of friends involved in the same topics... Make Social Media actually social before trying to reinvent everything with the Meta Verse.
You could also add something that throws rotten tomatoes at someone who is detected as bullying singling out an individual on the service and if they get enough rotten tomatoes they get kicked out of the discussion.
This is really Inspiring
I believe the gentleman in the red sweater has some kind of implant on his scalp. You know the fellow was Diego there. Am I wrong???
Meta has bold plans, but its Facebook ad platform still has a fairly poor/clunky interface so that should be a priority first really.
uh what? yea, they should slow down on all this meta verse stuff to fix there "clunky" ad platform on their existing pancake products? Thank god you are not their strategy planner. smh.
It is only matter of time but it is coming..
It will be the the next big thing.
Basically everyrhing we do on the computer like shopping, gaming, social networking and even work will be transfer to VR or metaverse.
Why we need this ?
Is it possible to create virtual smells. Or taste.
With the development of more powerful energy storage and better computers the Headset will likely evolve. I am envisioning a Tony Stark Sunglasses style product in next few decades
This tech has already been around for 10 plus years now
At this point why don’t just FaceTime
love him or hate him, people will adopt metaverse just wait and see .
Looking forward to apple’s AR/VR
Buying META when it gets around 70!!!
I just love everything about this, the big companies should work together to make the real Metaverse happen
Why don't Facebook just buy VRChat lol
Come back here after massive employees layoff from meta company, what a sight to behold
This is what happens when Mark Zuckerberg is surrounded by Yes Men, this is a horrible idea.
Give them time. Meta verse will change the world
no more Quest ions , thanks for the video!
That Hand Gestures Thing is Made/Developed by Google 8 years ago something and it's called/named as Google Soli
Nope, Project Soil was just very basic full body motion sensing, not hand gesture sensing
SUPER COOL!
Soon soon this will link with the chip
it will be great when apple start with it
6:41 literally a alien
Soon you won't have to move at all.
The ultimate consumer
We need a cardinal system
Crazy!🙏🏻
Invest $1k in meta. Thank me in 10 years
Meta looks all over the place with this. What is one thing they want to place on the hands of consumers by next year?
Good thing he's completely human because that means that everyone with money can use them!
Can't they use this technology for bionics?
Might have been better if Zucks had invested in a Stock Market Research Lab.😮😛
