This movie was originally made in Malayalam in 1993 Shobana was the best in the role of Nagavalli/Manjulika for me in Malayalam.

For people who are fighting based on which is better...it depends on the taste ...i am a malayali..i liked the original version better because it's made from my culture ..also it's a realistic take on psychology and astrology especially shobhana mams acting 🙌...malayalam movies likes to keep it real ...but i loved the Hindi remake too very much ...it's more of an entertainer and the songs are just superb...it's one of the better priyadarshan Hindi films...i think Hindi is the best remake out of all the 4 remakes or so...that too depends on the person..i am wondering how priyadarshan broke all the industry and language barriers at that time... really a Maestro 🙌🙌

watching the ORIGINAL movie since my childhood which is pure epic and also have a cult fanbase and seeing this after that..........maybe because i don't understand Hindi and compared to other remakes hindi remake is far better.......... I was constantly saying no one can match shobhana Mam's acting (still it is a fact ) and while compared to other remakes vidya balan does a commendable job

Mannnn .. this movie was something else 🥲 .. The horror , the comedy .. everything was just so fun to watch ... priyadarshan and AK combo .. Also thanks to Neeraj Vora (OM SHANTI 🥲), the man behind the screenplays and the dialogues of some really iconic movies that we enjoyed in the 2000's ..
I would also give credit to Neeraj Vora. He wrote the screenplay for this and most of priyadarshan comedies that we love.

Dude I seen manichitrathazhu like zillion times and watched BB like only a couple of times that too when I was a teenager but bruh maybe I had a different mindset back then, I really like BB back in the days but now i feel like this hasn't aged that well and i could still see Manichitrathazhu even today with the same excitement it's such a timeless classic the acting in Manichitrathazhu is infinitly better just only because bollywood is more mainstream the regional one gets ignored
Bhool Bhulaiyaa has aged well for me.
Manichitrathazhu feels much more over the top acting and hasnt aged well.

This movie was really hard for me to watch cause "Manichithrathazhu"( the og) is my favourite movie ever made. No issues with this movie.. but it doesnt hit the levels of perfection the og did
This movie is a remake of the Malayalam film "Manichithrathazhu". You should actually watch it with Syntell or something and compare the two. Both are unique in its own way.

May be you culturally relate more. Like the jokes and funny scenes in the movie are fun to watch. Agreed the story is completely copied but acting and funny scenes are the heart of this movie. Also actors we are used to cin more make a impact. Ofc og one will be the best and Noone can replace that but this was fun to watch as well.
Even as a non-Malayali I just feel that Manichitrathazhu is much better than Bhool Bhulaiya.

The malayalam version is the original one . Others are remakes . No offense the pictures were remade good and I respects the cast too but no one can beat the performance of legendary actress shobana in the malayalam version 🙂🤌💖💖💖💖💖

I've watched both versions (the original Malayalam one called Manichitrathazhu and this one) and I personally liked the original one more cuz I felt the acting was much better and it was made to be more scarier than this Hindi version. For the Malayalam one Shobana even won the National Film Award for best actress--and those are some pretty huge shoes to fill for Vidya Balan, but I think she tried her best. FYI Jaby & Achara, the National Film Awards are India's highest/most prestigious film awards :)
I'm still glad you guys are reacting to some version of the film nonetheless cuz this Priyadarshan (director) and Akshay Kumar movie combo is some of the best bollywood has to offer :)

Hey Jabs, you should probably check out the OG movie Manichithrathazhu (1993). Which was what Bhool Bhulaiyya adapted from. It won National Award for the Best Popular film and Shobhana (the lead actress) won the best Actress award that year.
0:06 the story is not original, its a remake of malayalam film. But yes this film has a different fan base bcz the director did some slight change in some of the characters and also the comedy is top class. And also the performance of vidya balan was very good

Seeing this watch along, I really wish you guys watch the original too. I'm not comparing with bhool bhulaiya but as malayali, I'm really proud of the original movie. It had a really progressive concept but still won the hearts of people. The concept is executed different in both languages according to the viewers interests too.

This was a Very New Concept for Indian watchers. This Movie got so so much Love from Indian Watchers which BHOOL BHULAIYA 2 Can never get. The Way Akshay Kumar played this Role Kartik Aryan can never. The Way Vidhya Balan played the Role of Manjulika, Kiara Advani can never play a small part of it.
Bhool Bhulaiya 1 still makes us laugh and scare at the same time that Bhool Bhulaiya 2 can never. 🙂🙂🙂🙌🙌
You should be watching the original Malayalam version 'Manichitrathazhu' so that the north audience also knows about it. Hindi version was also good in its own ways but Malayalam was best for sure because of more natural acting.

'Manichithrathaazhu .. Malayalam version is considered as cult classic...It's a good decision to react to this remake movie as i think you won't get the momentum or get a good involvement in orginal one.. Malayalam version still tops though

Vidya Balan acted so well. I watched this movie in theatre when I was young and it gave me lifetime scar. Now I fear dark💀
While watching this, I realised that the BGM was nowhere near the spooky one in the original. The bgm in every scene of the original will give you shivers down the spine. Unfortunately, you are going to miss out on that unique experience.
Bhool bhulaiya focused more on comedy. That might be the reason they chowe this one to react

The comment section for this video is a bit sad to see. Can't we all just acknowledge that Bhool Bhulaiyaa is a great comedy, but also respect the original was a great thriller?
The OG had such a great story, and adapting that into a horror comedy is no easy task either. So both movies are well done in their own way 🤷♀
But they've a hard time accepting that the original movie was properly remade with a bigger budget and better technology and was made more palatable for the general audience. You know what's funny, a few days ago I was watching nanban, which is a tamil remake of 3 idiots, and the people in the comments section were praising the movie, nothing wrong with that, but they also said they liked nanban more than the original, which I don't think it was because they literally made a scene by scene copy of the original, but still I didn't have a problem with tamil people liking the remake, since it's starring Vijay, and they might be a little biased towards him.
I also watched a scene comparison of munnabhai mbbs remakes, one of them starred Kamal Hassan, and the comments section was filled with south indians calling the telugu version and the original a joke, and the tamil one a masterpiece.
It's good to be proud of your things, but you don't really need to downgrade or even downplay others to elevate your stuff.

Always the mainstream content with better quality cinematography , better and more famous actors will get the attention. Akki is very well know not only in India but also among foreigners who watch bollywood. Mohanlal otoh is not even a pan India actor. I just came to know about his name after reading rants from u guys .

It's a disaster for the fans of them not watching it in original Malayalam language, Hence proved always the original content fails to be on top content with such Great actors and great acting, it goes unrecognised especially Malayalam movies 😑😑.

You should have done the original Malayalam version. Hindi was plain too simplistic. Malayalam is fantastic to another level. Acting is average in this movie.
As if they care about acting and the storyline.....Tell them they'll get more views....Maybe then they'll try reacting
@@saturogojo1055 they do care about story telling. They have watched some good movies in the past with syntell. The original received national award that time for shobhana. National award then had meaning unlike now where they offer it up to average actors unlike kangana or Anil Kapoor?

@@indian7885 I agree that this version is a the latest one so has better quality visually. I am talking about the subtle nuances in the story, surrounding and the characters that made it really fresh. And I personally loved Shobhana, I mean she won National Award for a reason.

This one is far better than the new one i can even tell by the trailer .. this one had some good story to it... but the new one is gonna try to shove comedy in each and every scene and there won't be a good story to it....sad

Why can't many of you appreciate even if they're watching the Hindi version. If Bhool Bhulaiyaa hadn't been made, the larger audience wouldn't have known where it's actual story came from. Plus the Hindi version does have a huge fan base, not only for the scary story but also for top class comedy.

The sad thing is, many people still do not know where the story actually came from. There are people comparing Akshay Kumar's acting to Mohanlal's acting and Vidya's acting (as much of an amazing actor as she is) to Shobhana's national award-winning performance and saying that they did better than the original actors. It truly is a travesty.
