This video you watched is a shortened version of the extended blooper reels from the DVDs they released. That's why they're uncensored with all the cursing. These clips never actually aired. If you search for it, you can find about 45 minutes worth of the full Whose Line bloopers.
Whose Line is it Anyway- Wayne Brady and Melissa From the Audience Just YT search exactly that and your day will instantly become better. Pretty sure it wasn't even fully in the uncensored video. You...are..welcome...
They can edit about 4 to 6 shows from one 3 hour taping session. That is why they are wearing the same outfits and have the same audience in multiple shows. These censored blooper clips never made it on the original shows. I'm glad they weren't just discarded.
Britt, some games had audience members participate, but usually in a passive way such as that game where they pretend they are actors who die while performing. Colin is usually the one who doesn't die and needs to keep the show going by moving the dead actors and saying their lines. The best audience participation game is called sound effects. Colin and Ryan act out a scene but two audience members do the sound effects, which usually they don't or in hilarious ways. Worth a watch as most of the sound effects games are really funny.
Drew, as a comedian, was on fire in the 90s and early 00s. He definitely got some chances to shine there on stage with the cast at times. His standup was really quite good.
Colin Mochrie is Canadian, born in Scotland (so he has that British sense of humour that I love) and Ryan Stiles is American-Canadian, born in Seattle and raised partly in my hometown of Vancouver. That's why their comedy is what it is. It seems polite and laid back, but it creeps up on you into uncensored territory quickly.
11:12 Yes, she is an audience member. If you join the studio audience, you can become part of the show. Especially when Ryan is on the loose. Cameras aren't safe either. Network cameras, not people cameras.
Since I am in my 50's now, I remember first seeing Bob Saget as a 'dirty' comedian in 1984, and wondering how the hell he ended up on a sitcom as a dad. I remember one of the first jokes I ever heard him tell was, "I married my girl of seven years. That's her age. I'm going to jail! ... I'm nuts over her .. she's THIS tall!"
Is Britt aware that Drew was a very famous stand up before he had his show and Whose Line. Of course the man is naturally funny, that is how he started.
Did you read it as “I didn’t think he was funny”? I read it as “I didn’t think he told *those* types of jokes” She also mentioned the frequency of his jokes, which again yeah if they’re all getting cut out there are less. But nothing stating or implying he wasn’t funny?
Yeah. So many clips of the stage manager or whoever he is cutting in to correct them, or say they can't air that, and it's usually Ryan in the background either pantomiming killing the manager or himself while he's distracted talking to Drew. Absolutely hilarious if you're in the audience watching it.
Britt Show has continued today since 2013 with Aisha Tyler taken over as host with Wayne, Colin, and Ryan. Show has other former people from the past as 4th person as each episode aired on CW. There are plenty of footage with both Drew & Aisha that uncensored material saved for this purpose.
Unfortunately, the version with Aisha was cancelled by the CW after they were bought out by Nextar. I would love to see a streaming service pick up the show.
One of my most favorite names Colin gives himself as an anchor during Weird Newscasters is, "Welcome to the 6 o'clock news. I'm your anchor, "Puffy Don't Need Combs."
There’s so many good games they had on this video….weird newscasters (Colin’s puns!!), video dating service, helping hands (so funny!), let’s make a date, party quirks….press conference is another good one; same with any of the question ones (questionable impressions…Collin is terrible at impressions; questions only, questions with wigs/hats, etc). They have to only ask questions and Ryan and Collin are usually on the opposite end of the stage because then they end up working a scene together and they just work off each other so well 😂😂
These are outtakes, that were on the DVD releases. Some of the lines did make it to air while being heavily censored, but a lot of it didn’t. I would imagine some of it was done to keep the audience engaged as well, since they did play a part in the overall show
Hell yea, these are so good xD There are even more bloopers/uncensored ones if you can find em. I couldn't find a compilation, but press conference is a hilarious one they didn't do nearly enough IMO. Colin gives a press conference but doesnt know his character and has to guess who he's supposed to be playing based on the questions the other people are asking him. It's a bit like their other game newscasters.
The show started in 1988 with Clive on the BBC in England. The last season was 1999 and filmed in Hollywood as a hand-over to Drew Carey. The outtakes showed up on "blooper reels" in the States but dont let that fool ya. In the U.K. that stuff was live on BBC 4. They knew they were going to package every inch of film for redistribution elsewhere. It's approaching its 30th year and there's also an Australian version.
Thank you for this video. I just had the worst day at work - just an absolutely time-dilated, zero-dopamine, autopilot-disabled slog of a day, and your reaction cheered me up to the extent that I might actually enjoy today's remainder. I love your content and your positive energy. Stay gold.
The original Who’s Line in the UK ran from 1988-‘99, while the American version with Drew hosting ran from 1998-‘05 then it was revived in 2013 with Aisha Tyler who’s still hosting today.
The game with the two chairs and two women where Colin was spanking the girl with Ryan's hand is called Dead Bodies. It's Colin in a scene with usually three people and it's like, he pretends they're all dead and he has to move them in different positions to create the scene. Watch a clip on TH-cam and you'll see what I mean.
Shows doing "blooper reels" at the end of the season is a tradition. They used to be just for the wrap parties, but we often get to see them now. That one you didn't get...the prop looked like a hand, and Colin folded down all the fingers but the middle one.
From what l saw here, the best place for Drew is behind desk where he can do the least harm. LMBO, the man is a menace and the place would've gone up in Flames.
So these mostly come from the DVDs of the show. Had a friend who had the ENTIRE show on DVD and I borrowed and ripped a LOT of it. Sadly the hard drive I had it all on died long ago, and I lost basically the entire show, all the uncensored clips, and a lot of extras that the DVDs had. The show is still around today. I think the host is/was Aisha, or her name was something like that, I forget. I haven't watched in a long while. Used to be a website that hosted all of them, but I'm pretty sure it was taken down a few years back. If you're interested, the UK also had a version of the show.
"Filmed in front of live audience" is also why a lot of gen z don't like 90s and 00s sitcoms: they don't understand how it is more like live theater than TV show. The audience gets warm up acts, often stand up comedian that performs a 15 minute set. It is a show for them, and we get to see the best takes. I've never been in one but i've worked on the soundstages before and after a show season. It can be a full 5 hour show to make these, with catering in between, sometimes even musical acts.. You are seeing "behind the scenes", there is whole lot of audience participation, cast member breaking from character and just performing for the audience. It is a feedback loop. Younger generations think it is canned laughter, fake. For sure, a lot of editing is done, and when the show isn't that great... canned laughter is added but in the best shows... a lot of it is real. And to be fair, multiple takes means the audience laughter may not be that great but in sound mixing you can use several takes to connect the best laugh to the best takes. But the ideal always is that every first take is kept and me move on, keep the audience entertained while cameras or set changes.
That was great. I laughed till I cried. These would be good to see again just to laugh. I loved the original show and this just topped that off. 😅😅. Thanks for sharing.
The New York fan part was where Colin was holding up a styrofoam hand thing and it was given an image of a middle finger but that's what he came up with
When I was in a troupe like this there was a "rule" about vulgarity. In that one if you slipped up you had to wear a waste paper basket on your head. That is until a specific time of the evening when we knew had enough cocktails and would intentionally go vulgar to rile the audience. Improv comedy is very fun btw. Anyone who has the opportunity should try it out.
One of the games is were an audience member and the actor sit in a chair and the third person moves them and speaks for them, you should check out Party quirks where Wayne is king kong
the cameras, never stop rolling. The sensor is just for what clips are aired on television. That's why he apologized to the crowd behind him. They have no choice, but I'm sure they're told there could be some language. I've always wanted to be in the live studio audience for the show. Ans the golden girls was another one I always wanted to be in the studio audience because the "blupers" are the best. Friends was another good one for that. They would routinely just go off script.
There were games where audience members would come up. Three good ones are Whose Line is it Anyway: 1) Tarzan and Jane Talk (It's hilarious) 2) Wayne Brady and Melissa From the Audience 3) Maria Won't Kiss Colin's Head
10:45 yes that is a member of the audience. I can’t remember the name of that game but basically a member of the audience volunteers to be a puppet for the performance. There’s also a segment where they have someone come on stage, as a volunteer of course and Wayne Brady will sing them an improv long song. Idk then names of the games though, someone will probably say in the comments below.
A former supervisor of mine, her husband served with Drew in the Marines (we're all from Cleveland). M said that Drew is actually very shy. I know that Robin Williams was also very shy and had depression. It seems alot of comedians are shy/reserved in RL, but get them on stage and they're hams. I found out the other week that Drew's ex-fiancee was murdered several years ago. They did get the guy, but I'm not sure if he's gone to trial yet.
You need to go see "Whose Live Anyway" on stage. Ryan is still there, Greg and Jeff from the show are still with it. Joel is an addition. Still funny - and better live!
To be fair, most of American tv wouldnt air anything sexual at one point in time, so if anything was going to be cut, it was going to be all the blatant sex jokes
If you like subtle jokes about racism, one of the running gags on the show was that if they were on NBC, Wayne wouldn't be allowed on the show. They were on in the same timeslot as NBC's Friends, which infamously had an essentially all white cast for most of its run. Ironically, the first non-white character of any significance was Charlie, played by Aisha Tyler, who would later host Whose Line starting with the 2013 renewal.
If you like seeing Drew participate in games, you could try clips from Drew Carey's Improvaganza. It was a live show in Vegas between the end of the first American series of Whose Line and the newer one. Includes many original Whose Line cast members, as well as others who would go on to be in the new version, and Drew is a participant in many of the games, rather than just being a host.
I have to disagree Brit, the show wouldn't be canceled... I mean, it's still on. Different channel with a different host - CW, hosted by Aisha Tyler. But it's still putting out new episodes. Everyone always says "such-and-such would be canceled today." Most the time their wrong - most of us - the people that are considered to be the "cancel culture" snowflakes - aren't actually going around calling for cancelations. We can't help that there's a few eccentric lunatics out there, but comparatively speaking, they're a very small minority. The rest of us, if we have a problem with something, we turn the channel. What really gets me is that when Conservatives cancel something, it's not considered cancel culture. It's a boycott, or moral policing to protect children... from TV, or music, or books, or movies, or video games, or celebrities, etc. It's a double standard.
12:48 "Drew Needed To Be One Of The Performers Instead Of The Host" Well, Britt, in most of the "Hoedown".skits, drew would actually be up there with 3 of the 4 improv actors
Back when I drank caffeine, Dr Pepper all the way! Now I stick to ginger ale (Canada Dry) or root beer (Frostie, which is almost non-existent now, or IBC) when I bother to drink soda at all. I usually stick to water these days.

Yeah, I have those DVDs. Lots of fun.
Some in this video did air but were bleeped out, but yeah so many of these just got tossed out because they were too much for TV haha
Whose Line is it Anyway- Wayne Brady and Melissa From the Audience
Just YT search exactly that and your day will instantly become better. Pretty sure it wasn't even fully in the uncensored video. You...are..welcome...
Now you definitely have to watch “the news according to Colin Mochrie” it’s probably Colin’s best work from Whose Line.
Drew Carey was a US Marine, so it makes perfect sense to me he has a filthy sense of humor, lol.
Dafuq? Was he really? Does that expalin his twisted sex needs, too?
I never knew that
He probably got it from a Swabbie. I mean, the US Navy supplies them with everything.
They can edit about 4 to 6 shows from one 3 hour taping session. That is why they are wearing the same outfits and have the same audience in multiple shows. These censored blooper clips never made it on the original shows. I'm glad they weren't just discarded.

Never been this early to a BrittReacts video, and she's doing one of my favourite shows ever?
I truly must be blessed.
Best of Ryan and Collin please! 🙏

Lmao, hearing Drew Carey uncensored is like hearing Bob Saget’s standup for the first time after only knowing him from Full House 😂
100% 😂
truth lmao its like great now my childhood is ruined but in THE BEST WAY
Since I am in my 50's now, I remember first seeing Bob Saget as a 'dirty' comedian in 1984, and wondering how the hell he ended up on a sitcom as a dad. I remember one of the first jokes I ever heard him tell was, "I married my girl of seven years. That's her age. I'm going to jail! ... I'm nuts over her .. she's THIS tall!"

She also mentioned the frequency of his jokes, which again yeah if they’re all getting cut out there are less. But nothing stating or implying he wasn’t funny?
They record a huge amount of material, then edit it down. Being uninhibited is key. Inhibition stifles improvisation.
Yeah. So many clips of the stage manager or whoever he is cutting in to correct them, or say they can't air that, and it's usually Ryan in the background either pantomiming killing the manager or himself while he's distracted talking to Drew. Absolutely hilarious if you're in the audience watching it.
WLIIA with Drew Carey is one of my favorite shows of all time! 🧡👏🏻
They need to bring it all back 😊
Yes exactly they released season DVDs for them
No, they only released like Vols. 1 & 2 of the first season (uncensored) and also released a 2 disc set of the best of whose line (uncensored.)
Ok i didn't realize i had to be specific with every little integrated detail for people
Absolutely Coca Cola!
Britt

The new york fan was holding a foam hand and the foam hand was fliping the bird. Lol
Yeah, instead of the "We're Number 1" hand, it was the bird for New York.

2:50 “He’s so bad..” had me weak🤣🤣
Drew Carey’s improvaganza is a good one too. Same idea, but in Vegas. And a bit newer.
i like green screen show over improvaganza, but it is really funny

The more entire episodes that you can find, the better in my opinion. Short clips are great, but longer segments, better.

Wayne Brady is a god!!! 😂
As brilliant as Colin and Ryan and Brad were, Wayne always brought the heat nobody could top and they gave up.
They actually did air some unsensored versions on the comedy channel back in 90s early 2000s. Also the Britain versions were more unsensored too
yeah things are a bit more lax in britain. that’s why when josie was on here she said pu**y. and i’m sorry i comment so much. i post as i react
11:36... this is the first U.S. version of the show, and there's a second version hosted by Aisha Tyler. Both are streaming on Max.
Of the 3 difrent version of the show Drew was my favorite host
The uncensored audio is still recorded live, the censor audio is done in post editing so there is two versions that exist.
11:00... yes, that's an audience member, playing "Dead Bodies." BTW, this whole show is available on MAX, HBO's streaming service, if you have it.
Thank you for this video. I just had the worst day at work - just an absolutely time-dilated, zero-dopamine, autopilot-disabled slog of a day, and your reaction cheered me up to the extent that I might actually enjoy today's remainder. I love your content and your positive energy. Stay gold.

You should really check out Sound Effects and Helping Hands. (Then you'll see how well Ryan and Colin really know each other.)

The New York fan part was where Colin was holding up a styrofoam hand thing and it was given an image of a middle finger but that's what he came up with
They aired uncensored on the comedy channel here in Australia back in the late 90's early 2000's.
When I was in a troupe like this there was a "rule" about vulgarity. In that one if you slipped up you had to wear a waste paper basket on your head. Lol oh man I think he still feels bad about that one.
What did Drew said, something like 'it's a good thing you follow your mom's advice!'
this is why they have a live audience
COKE!

How did they get them? Yes, DVDs with bloopers/uncensored stuff. They don't release them now for newer seasons sadly.
The bloopers, of course, were always VERY funny. Your reactions to these, my dear Britt, were even funnier!
Glad you like them!

There were games where audience members would come up. Three good ones are Whose Line is it Anyway:
1) Tarzan and Jane Talk (It's hilarious)
2) Wayne Brady and Melissa From the Audience
3) Maria Won't Kiss Colin's Head
I still love watching the original British Version of the show.. it was very funny as well
YES! I love the whose line bloopers. Brad seeing Ryan swinging the dong, and hard selling it! So good.
That’s why British panel shows are so funny. Less censorship. :-)
Think it was called Dead Bodies. Everyone was acting on stage and they all died apart from Colin who had to keep the scene going.

Most the time their wrong - most of us - the people that are considered to be the "cancel culture" snowflakes - aren't actually going around calling for cancelations.
Exactly
I like the big three colas, Pepsi, Coke and Dr. Pepper. When Drew yawned then you did…then I did…yes yawns are contagious
They should have shot a cable only version where a lot of this could actually air.

"Drew Needed To Be One Of The Performers Instead Of The Host"
Well, Britt, in most of the "Hoedown".skits, drew would actually be up there with 3 of the 4 improv actors
5:22 Dr. Pepper
Back when I drank caffeine, Dr Pepper all the way! Now I stick to ginger ale (Canada Dry) or root beer (Frostie, which is almost non-existent now, or IBC) when I bother to drink soda at all. I usually stick to water these days.
DR. PEPPER!
Yes, they would involve audience members.
