It’s finally here! I’m really proud of this scrapbook as it took me quite a while to work on… I’m definitely not recovered from VidCon, even two weeks later! She also is the first princess that started out as a crossover.
I recently got into an accident. I got hit by a tow truck while on a bicycle. This caused me to shatter my femur, break my knee, and fracture my ankle, along with many bruises and a lot of road rash and swelling. I now have to use a wheelchair and eventually, crutches. I'm currenly non-weight bearing and can't feel my foot yet. I am regaining feeling though, as my foot often burns and stabs me;;
I sympathize a lot more with you now, even though my injuries are much different than your conditions. Getting around with a wheelchair can be hard and frustrating, especially since my house is quite small. Yesterday even just being out for 9 hours to go to the doctor and the store wore me out completely and I slept for half of today. I'm doing physical and occupational therapy every day and it's also quite tiring.
I can't imagine how hard it is to travel with your conditions, and I'm so glad you have the drive to do it anyways! That you push past your body to fulfill your heart and mind.
I just have a new perspective now that this has happened to me.

Clara being overly excited about going to Target is a big mood - I've never been to the USA but I feel like it would be the tiny things like going to a different supermarket or driving on the other side of the road that would be weirdest to get used to.

I never tire of foreigners touring southern California. As my backyard and playground for 29 years, I'm glad you guys had so much fun. Glad you got outta here before our heatwave. It was 113 F yesterday. The low last night was 98. (45C/37C roughly.)

Yessssssss, I love your channel for showing happy, healthy life and how your disability varies day to day. As a young person who’s newly diagnosed with a mobility problem, I say newly - it was in 2015, it’s done a lot for my mental health to see someone like you and helped me normalise my disability - at least that’s the excuse I give my boyfriend when he notices I’ve binged 20 of your videos... Thank you ❤️

I'm so sorry you felt minimized while in your scooter :(
My mom goes back and forth between needing a mobility device and just hobbling on her own, and I sometimes use a cane. Whenever I see someone in a chair or with another disability wanting to go somewhere (such as say, through a door,) I walk up, ask them if they're intending to go through, then stop foot traffic and hold the door and put up my hand to the others and let that person go through. It's just common courtesy! Nobody else would like passed by and stomped in front of, so why then would you do it to someone who is in a wheelie or using a walker or other device?! Able bodied, disabled, green, alien, doesn't matter. Be decent to others. Nobody is above or below anyone else and everyone deserves to be treated as an equal.
I'm glad though that you had a lovely time here in the USA. I wish you could have swung up to see Oregon, it is absolutely beautiful (and in most places, not so many roads, just lots of trees abundant growth. Some waterfalls.)
Also glad you got to not only be at vidcon, but speak at vidcon! I frequently use captions or subtitles when available because although I am hearing, I have frequently a ringing and buzzing in my right ear that drives me crazy if I'm trying to hear a voice.
My disabilities are invisible, but your channels positive effect on me is very visible! Okay that was corny.. but it is so uplifting, you're such a dear and I appreciate your advocacy and educational videos as much as I do the fashion and hair videos. Your videos make me smile often and appreciate what I do have instead of worrying about what I don't have. Also, you and Claud are just the sweetest couple!

I seriously love your scrapbook videos - I have to say, it'd be fascinating to see your take on how the US handles disabilities vs the UK, what you experienced that you'd appreciate seeing more of in one place or the other.
I normally use one single cane for walking (and it's difficult to get the better arm crutches they have in the UK!!), but I'm trying to do more outside the house, and I'm finding that ECVs/mobility scooters extend my spoons GREATLY, that was a real revelation, I'm glad to see they help you as well.

I can see why you're still not fully recovered, you pushed yourself hard. Can't say I blame you, you want to see EVERYTHING 😁. Plus you know once you get home, you'll start recovering slowly. I LOVE the scooter, it makes a HUGE difference. And yes you do feel kind of uncomfortable the first time using it. But you get over it soon enough. Glad to see you really enjoyed Vidcon. Feel better.

I started to cry when you got to hold the piglet. So cute! When you were shooting the pictures in the scenery with all of the pastels and vintage style rooms I kept thinking to my self "Goodness your aesthetic is so pleasing!" Thank you so much for telling me more about subtitles and closed captioning! I'll do my best to make my videos more accessible now. I hope that next year if you're invited back I'll be able to come to VidCon and meet you as well as many others. What a lovely trip!
