Honest Outlaw love your videos Bro and the fact that you support homeless shelters and youth shelters my hat goes off to you bud as a youth I made a couple knuckle headed decisions and ended up in Eldora,Iowa being a rebellious teen. Great video, I have carried many pistols over the years and did carry the S&W Shield for a few years. I then was introduced to the Sig P365 and it was a game changer ! Lighter weight, more capacity and very accurate shots. I have now carried the P365 for a few years and feel very secure as a carry pistol, loaded with Federal HST 124gr.

I carry P365 with12 round mags so I can get a good grip though the 10 round with pinky extension works fairly well for me. Wrist and hand issues make racking my Shield 2.0 led to me selling it. I haven't tried racking this new Shield. I like how the Shield shot for sure. I got a Shield 380 EZ for those days when my wrist and hands are really hurting thus I can always carry. Some of us old guys need such options.

I picked up the Shield Plus on Monday evening, and it's quickly moved itself to the top of my list as well. I went in to the store just to hold it, and that was all it took for me to bring it home. The only thing the base model is lacking, IMO, is those night sights that come standard on the base model 365s and Hellcats, especially given that all are around roughly the same price, at least in my area.

    • @sluggo5260

Agreed! Just went to gun store to handle/feel all the above...the Shield Plus, like you, hands down best feel. G 43x was 2nd. Hated the Sigs, both std & XL, as too skinny, & XL was top/slide heavy=felt out of balance/forward.

Great list. I'd pretty much rank them the same way. I do think the g3c should have made it into the top five somewhere, or at least an honorable mention. My two concealed carry pistols right now are the 2.0 Shield, and the G43x. I'll be upgrading to the shield Plus , and G43 MOS shortly.

  • @jasonquinn4516

I can confirm your opinions about that Shield Plus. I was in the market to purchase my very first gun and was shopping around in this category of compact double stacks.
I shot around 9 different pistols and my top three ended up being the 43x, the canik tp9 elite sc, and that Shield plus.
I found these three to be the most accurate and least recoil for me... especially the 43x and shield plus.
But only with the shield did I manage 3 bullseye shots on my very first magazine. As a total amateur shooter, this gun totally impressed me.
My only complaint would be the lack of a rail on the shield plus and also I found the shield's slide release button to be overly recessed for such a small and stiff button. So yeah, the shield plus is a phenomenal pistol, just be prepared to curse the slide catch.

After looking at several different concealed carry guns I picked the S&W 9MM sheild 2.0 . Good sites and grip without add on's were some of the things that sold me. Draw backs are tough spring to rack the first shot (sweaty hands on a hot day are going to be a problem) and magazine release recesed, I have to release my grip to release the magazine.

  • @jarrodgilbert9909

Tried the Hellcat, tried the 365, tried the 43x (which was my least favorite because the lower is so uncomfortable and it kicked like a mule), and tried the shield. Bought the shield plus and have not found anything better for the category. It fits my hand, does not kick much at all, is accurate, not issues after 200 rounds, and is a simple gun to take apart. My wife will probably be getting the same thing to carry for herself. Highly recommended. I was shooting at 30ft on the first time using it and was surprised at how accurate it was. I am pretty new to gun ownership, so it amazing me how easily it hit the target.

That trigger on the M&P shield plus is freaking awesome! I bought 2 of them to cerakote 1 in grey and the other in FDE. Apex did make the trigger for the shield plus I believe don’t quote me on that exactly but that’s what I’ve heard because the trigger does resemble apex’s triggers.

I have both and love both. The 07 is marginally more concealable. The 01 is my sweetheart. The 01 is cajunized and the 07 was upgraded with MCARBO springs. I wouldn't sell either. The 01 is the non-Omega version, BTW. The entire question comes down to how you want to use the gun and what expectations you have for customization. Plenty of holster and accessory options for either..

    • @DougMcHone
      @DougMcHone 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@sethdesselle6420 In that case, I'd start with the 07. The 07 is Omega and part of that means that the trigger isn't quite so curved. You can get blisters from a standard CZ trigger because of how curved it is. Also, the MCARBO kit is like $20 and comes with a super helpful video to walk you through it. The Non-Omega 01 has a sear cage that can be upgraded by a non-gunsmith, but not without lots of swearing. The 07 also has a lower opening price point AND the magazines for it are compatible with the P-10 series.
If I could only have one, it would be the P-01. In your case though, I would suggest the 07 to you. Good luck!

    • @tomrod2569

Very good video, very informative. I don't know if you have ever tried the Glock 48, but I have the 43, and really wanted something with just a bit more grip purchase, which led me to explore the 43X and the 48. I am a military veteran and have been employed as a law enforcement officer in Houston, TX for more than 30 years and as such carry a weapon on a daily basis. I am also approaching my 60's so for me having a longer site radius became important, hence making the 48 more ideal. As far as my work gun, I wear plainclothes and with the shootability and larger magazine capacity, the Sig P 365X was just the ideal every day gun.

@@philips2870 muzzle flip accuracy and comfort of shooting. On an anecdotal level when shooting something like the 365 the total circumference of the grip allows the gun to rotate side to side and makes it to where you almost have to walk the bullet into a tight group. The shield grip and design is much easier to hit point of aim from a quick draw. Now this is something that may totally be anecdotal but everyone who is shot mine has all came to the same conclusion. The 365 and the 365 XL are revolutionary and will always hold that innovative spot as the original. But when you take the shield design and put it on paper especially with the new trigger nothing comes close. It's really something you have to shoot to understand how unbelievably comfortable recoil reset and shoot ability this pistol holds for a package as small as it is. I have time behind the Glock 43x hellcat and both 365 models. I have not shot a Ruger Max 9 but I can honestly say The shield is will be the only thing in my waistband for the foreseeable future

I have the top two pistols on this list- 1. M&P Shield Plus. and 2. Sig P365 ....objectively the shield is probably a slightly better gun because of its trigger and because it’s larger size makes it more comfortable to shoot than the p365, but honestly I shoot the p365 better. The shields trigger is basicslly TOO good, and I can predict when it is going to go off and I tend to flinch more and pull my shots to the left (I’m not the best shooter and don’t get to practice a ton). But again that’s just me, it’s not the guns fault. The p365 is just a better gun for me all around because I can’t predict when it’s going to go off as easily so I flinch less and shoot straighter. It’s less comfortable to shoot though after 50-100 rounds at the range, but that’s not it’s purpose. It’s purpose is to be small, light, concealable, and effective as a self defense Gun which it is. The P365 is a little more concealable so I tend to carry it more often when i need a minimalist setup with a tight fitting outfit. I consider the shield a better gun all around, but when it comes to concealed carry, the p365's smaller size is just more convenient and allows me to carry in more positions comfortably. the p365 is also posslbe to pocket carry unlike the shield. I suppose it’s possible to pocket carry the shield but it’s kind of pushing the boundaries of pocket carry and you might need to be wearing bigger pockets. I use my ruger LCP 2 for pocket carry as well, fantastic gun. the LCP 2 Ive carried more than both of these due to its insanely small size and light weight, but its not as good of a gun as these to shoot at a range, and I would rank it slightly lower in reliability and durability. It gets the job done though. Lately I’ve made the switch and my p365 is all I carry. I take it with me everywhere, and I keep it in my car. The others I keep in my house. My LCP II i take to walk my dog sometimes. My shield collects dust, bc these days I only pocket carry (I hate iwb carry bc uncomfortable), I’ve considered selling it, but didnt - another thing is I got the performance version of the shield plus and I regret not getting the standard version because the white dot sights are way better than the performance sights imo

@@cashmoney9256 vedder light tuck or tolster holster. I hate carrying iwb personally bc I just think it’s uncomfortable and I prefer pocket carry but that’s what I would use if I did carry iwb. The light tuck with the claw attachment will conceal best but it takes up my room in your pants and is a little more uncomfortable. The tolster holster is probably more comfortable and smaller overall, but doesn’t have the claw, which means it’s not going to hold the gun snug against your body so the butt of the gun will probably print more and be visible in the outline of your shirt
I prefer pocket carry holsters, my fave being vedder pocket locker, but the shield is a bit too big to for pocket carry. I mean it’s possible, but just kind of pointless compared to the much smaller p365 or ruger lcp ii. Btw my preference has changed since I made this post and the p365 is my favorite in all areas now, because I shoot it better than I shoot the p365. That’s just personal preference though, the shield is still a great gun. I just like the p365 better, I tend to pull the shield to the left when I pull the trigger. the shield probably has a better trigger but honestly I’m not the best shot and the p365 trigger kind of “fools” me into shooting straight with its less predictable trigger wall- less expectation and less flinch

The trigger was super nice and actually light. The grip was super comfortable too. I actually like the p365 tigger too but it’s not as light. I also love the stippling, night sights, awesome grip ergonomics, ability of flush 10 rounds and go up to 15 if I want, front serrations, attachment rail, and aftermarket stuff straight from sig. I just ordered the p365x slide with the Romeo zero already mounted. I love the p365 and is the gun that converted me from Glock to other firearms lol. Thanks for the honest, practical and experienced gun reviews. Another reason the Glock should be on your short list is it is the only one that has polygonal barrel. As you know polygonal hammer forged rifling has more pros than cons. Its projectile has tighter tolerances, higher velocity, better accuracy and longer life. The only real con is that it is not compatible with lead ammo due to fouling, but most people are buying brass ammo so that really isn't a con for most people. Unfortunately, there are only a few manufacturers who upgrade to hammer forged polygonal barrels (H&K, Walther, Glock, CZ, Kahr PM, Beretta APX). Personally, I would have put the Walther at the top of your list for a number of reasons, including accuracy, less recoil, thinner, the 3 threes (3:rounds, 3 yards in 3 seconds), the best value of all.
