Got my first gun this Christmas. I have always been afraid of guns but it was time to learn to protect myself in today's environment. My nephew is nice enough to give me lessons. I chose the Sig P365XL manual safety because I have small hands and was having difficulty with the mag release of an old Makarov my husband has. I really love my gun. Thanks for all the reviews.
Good for you! Also being afraid of guns before you research and learn is a very good thing. You understood how serious handling a fire arm is and I can almost guarantee you learned a lot faster than people who weren’t afraid or people who don’t take it seriously.
Cyndi Kirby. I've got broad, thick hands, but short fingers, and the Sig P-365XL fits so well, I carry 2, "New York Reload" style!!! Try it with the 15 rd extended mags!!! I think you'll like it!!! And forget the manual safety. You won't need it!!!

I could swear i saw another video where you rated the Mossberg MC 1 as one of the worst pistols. Was that a different mossberg, and I'm mistaken?
Oh one more thing. My Glock 43, shoots better than my friends 43x, and he was trying to trade me after he bought it haha. Could just be a malfunctioning G43x he purchased
Oh, sorry for the rants, but also...I purchased a Sig P365 in May. Just 2 months ago, and I sold the junk after testing about 500rounds to see what ammo worked better. None worked better. It had double feed issues constantly and was literally worse than a hi point in my opinion. Once again, I prob received a messed up gun from the factory. Instead of going through the sending it back process or whatever, I just sold it for $500
I feel like the PPS M2 should be higher on these lists but at least people like it enough for it to make the list. It's the nicest shooting single stack I've had and it has never messed up on me. I wholeheartedly agree with the #1 spot though. The Sig 365XL replaced my PPS M2.

I even ran it through wolf steel was great
I think self defense the 115 sig v is too jumpy iim gonna get some 124 or higher see if threes is less recoil

That’s a solid top 5. I think the top 2 are very on point. I would of loved the shield to be number one but I’m not mad at the p365XL! It’s a great choice.

I love my shield too, its what other manufacturers have been trying to beat, nobody beats it for under $500.00

@@mrrogerdatone it's a very noticeable difference. Less slack, cleaner break, less reset. Also it's a one piece trigger and not the Smith lower hinge style.
Should it cost what it does? Probably not. Is it worth it? yes.

I've had my M&P 1.0 Shield 45acp for years, every time I shoot it I am amazed it's a 45. Handloads, 200 grain gold dot at 1000fps. The trigger on mine is very good and I'm a 1911 trigger snob. Love it.
Bought the walther PPS m2 as my first gun a bout 1.5 years ago. I regularly shoot it to keep up with skills and it has never jammed on me once. I’m amazingly accurate with it to my surprise. I almost went with the shield 2.0 9mm. The only other gun I was just as accurate with. Love my M2 overall 🙏🏽
My PPS M2 always finds its way into my EDC rotation.

Nice review! I had a Shield as my carry for many years. I recently switched to the P365 w/ a 12 round mag for more capacity in a small form factor and I love it. I would have probably preferred the P365 XL but got mine before I knew the XL was coming out.
I fell in love with my p365 XL. Shoota like a big gun, conceals like a EDC.

I truly love my P365 XL and my P365 nra edition. P365 is a great pocket carry weapon but the P365 XL is an excellent EDC.
The p365 sas shoots well, and is easy to master for a new pistol owner because of its ported barrel.
I just got the 365 XL yesterday. First subcompact/micro gun I've ever bought (Owned about 20 different handguns throughout the years) and I'm having a hard time grasping just how small this thing is. It's even crazier that it has a 12 round capacity. I mean the thing is just freaking tiny compared to everything else I've owned. Smallest handgun I've owned before was the P320 compact and that thing is chunky compared to a lot of guns let alone the 365 XL. Still, it feels amazing in my hand. Super easy to conceal, and I know looks don't matter but god damn does it look sexy. Was comparing it to the regular 365 which was 80 dollars less, but with the flush 10 round my pinky was hanging, everyone said the XL just shot better, and I prefer the flat trigger so it was a no brainer.

I've got my 1st gen M&P Shield 9mm on me 7 days a week and trust my life with it, I've added Talon grips and swapped the trigger for a Hyve Monarch trigger shoe...left all the other internals alone and love it! Now that the weather is getting colder I occasionally switch it out for my Glock 19 just because it the Glock gets lonely being left on the nightstand...I am really really torn between getting the P365 and the G43x and then that dang Hellcat starts winking at me from the gun counter, damn I love having all these awesome choices!
I have the Springfield HellCat...gone through 1000+ rounds...excellent, well balanced, 11/13 rd clips are great, my preferred gun as of now,
Another plus for the Hellcat is extended magazine price. I paid $50 for a 12-round P365 mag, whereas 13-round Hellcat mags were just $30. I'm liking that...
I wonder if it’s not on here because everyone in the gun industry got mad at Springfield?
Great Review and listing or your favorite carry guns. I have personally owned three of your top 5 and will stick with my Glock 43X. The Sig P365 was a great gun that eats rounds without any problem its just that the Glock fit my hand much more comfortably. Felt like a full sized gun in my hand but yet was a concealed model. I have a Sig P365. Never had a problem. I must use at least a 12-round magazine because I have big hands. It’s very accurate for such a short barrel. The only downside us that extra mags are expensive. For a small handgun, it’s perfect CCW piece. Thanks for the updates.

Springfield makes the highest quality guns IMHO.
I opted for the G26 over the 365. Biggest benefit is the familiar grip width.

Sig365 with the 365XL grip module is perfect for me. Love the modularity. Close to a thousand rounds and runs perfect. Excellent appendix carry gun even with the slightly longer grip. Retired my G43.

I have the Walther PPS M2... it's a fantastic carry pistol! I prefer it to the Glock 26 or any Glock that I've fired. The PPQ is an awesome pistol...very accurate! However it's a little big for me to carry everyday. I went to the range and the Walter dealer was there and let me fire his collection. Glad I did... I would have never given Walter a second look before that. I believe Walter is underrated and can hold up to just about any other pistol. Plus they don't break the bank!!!

Was carrying a Ruger 380 lcp.
Every time I'd go to the range I'd start off inaccurate. Its so short that being off a little would put you off a lot at the target. That kept nagging at me. I finally went and bought the Sig p365 and was immediately accurate with it. It felt great, never fails, and is accurate. A great investment.
I also would like to say that I think the overall ergos and grip feel goes to the shield 2.0!
I bought the Walther PPS M2 LE 9mm last year 2019 (true Walther with antler picture on left side of slide). Came with 3 mags 1- 6rnd flush mount, 1- 7rnd extend grip mag, and 1- 8rnd extend grip mag ; all are single stack. Phosphorus night sights and true to their word it's almost as thin as a Zippo lighter. Very accurate from 5 yards to 15 yards. It's also my favorite cc gun.
Same here, love it, polish the feed ramp and a few other points.. trigger perfect. everyone that shot it was impressed with the trigger. better than any S&W......

Been rocking the Mossberg MC1sc for about 5-6 months now. Beautiful gun. Flat face trigger, accurate, reliable, great price, great ergonomics, glock mags & Sig #8 sights. All from an iconic Americano brand. Call me impressed.

The 43X has become my favorite EDC and I love shooting it. I put TFX Pros on it, because it’s a Glock and that’s what you’re supposed to do. 😉🖖🏼🛸
I love my g42. Been cc it for 6 years. But it is overpriced if u put night sights and trigger upgrades. With all the upgrades, it is my fav.
My wife and I just got a couple of p365s. They came with 3-12 round mags. Love ‘em. I wish we could find more ammo to shoot.

From my experience with most of the guns on the list, my favorite to shoot and the most comfortable in the hand is the shield 2.0. that being said I carry the p365 exclusively. So yes I agree it's the best carry gun. And I bought it over the hellcat too. Didn't like the hellcat.

I agree with your list but think your honorable mention P938 should have been in the spot of Mossy, #4. Best selling by far at my gun shop are P365 and 43X. The new M&p 9EZ belongs on there with std shield for those with grip strength issues.
I agree with this list but instead of the Mossberg I would put on the list the Kahr CW9.
PM9 is my EDC - CW9 is well designed and made and a great value option. Not everyone can appreciate Kahr's differences, but it all added up to meeting my needs exactly.

Great video has always! Everytime I consider carrying something else I end up right back to my Taurus g2c.
True Randy. I’ve got numerous 9mm, but the g2c lb for lb is still my favorite. Ergonomics, price, accuracy, is hard for anything else to compare. Walther is too damn ugly to own and might be a good gun, but it’s ugly.

The Shield has served me perfectly for many years. I did stray and owned a P365 fur a while. I also tried the Walther PPS M2, but in the end I stick with the Shield.
Claymore I have mine with Apex trigger kit is the best trigger ever.
I have a Performance Center original Shield with upgraded trigger parts and fiber optic sights as well as ported barrel and slide. Won’t stop carrying it anytime soon.

The g2c should have been mentioned. It's smell enough to be easily concealed. Reliable accurate and easy to fire. Plus it doesn't cost a small fortune. The SCCY cpx9 also but for its trigger pull.

Another great video...I bought my wife the Sig P365 in 2019...she has carried a P228 since the mid 90s...great gun. Unfortunately - a few months ago - her car was broken into at an amusement park (she could not carry the gun inside) and the gun was stolen! Now I can not find one to replace it...but as soon as I do I'll get another.

You just described Hellcat,best microcompact of 2020 according to every major gun magazine,it has the best trigger,excellent factory tritium sight ,largest 12+1 magazine,best grip and accuracy,yet its no where on the list.I honestly think that someone from Springfield had affair with outlaw lady in the past.

G43x is a great cc with 15rds flushed mag! But it is too big and long to cc for small folks. Unles u wear x large shirts. I have athletic body. I always wear muscle shirts. Anything bigger than g42 or p365 is a no go for me.

I carry a ruger lcp2 to work even though I'm not supposed to. I'd prefer the trouble I might get into from using it to the trouble I might get in to from not having it
I just picked up a P365 in November. Awesome little gun.
Currently I’m carrying a 365xl with a true precision threaded barrel. Great setup. Tested it with summer cloths so it looks like it’ll be a year round carry.
That dethroned my Walter pps m2. Carried that forever. Still keep it around for the rare times where I ankle carry.
To us California residents this means "The top 5 small 9mm 's we cannot have"!

Some advice for people who are considering a Shield or for people who already have one and want a small gun with higher capacity. Right now ETS group offers 9 and 12 round magazines for the shield. I have two of the 12 rounders. I have 250 rounds through each of the mags and have had no issues with multiple types of ammo. I use them as backup mags. Just a thought.

How's that? When I lay it over top my Shield they're virtually identical in size, besides being 0.20" thicker. I use them both in the same holsters. With the flush mag the Shield is smaller, with the +1mag, it's larger.

Was looking for a smaller gun than my g2c, the shield and hellcat seemed to be practically identical in size with all 3 stacked on the counter. Didn't like the p365 trigger so I got a Springfield 911.
I bought a G2c on Thursday & I'll be picking it up today.
Already have a G2 slim & G3, excellent value & performance.

I have the G3 and love the thing but I am wanting a smaller pistol to conceal carry so my next purchase will probably be the g2c or g3c.
All these are in my safe besides the mossberg, I also have the 938. You are spot on with your assessment, and that’s about how I feel. Since I don’t have the mossberg, my XDS would go there.
I love my p365xl, I also picked up the Romeo zero and got an amazing stippling job. This pistol I so nice. I would recommend to anyone who wants just a great gun that’s small, to get it.
It is pretty snappy with +p ammo though.

I know people don't trust taurus, personally I've only had experience with a g2s
I get why the g2c isn't on the list due to its size
The g2s on the other hand you can get under $200 with it only down side being finish and aftermarket(which is growing)
I bought a G2s in December & a G3 in February.
Fired more than 400 rounds through both.
Both are reliable & accurate !
Through the 80s & 90s, Taurus was great. During that time, they were taking other's designs & improving on them. I would happily own anything from this period. In the late 90s they released their own design on a DAO polymer frame which completely sucked. I loved Taurus so much that I bought one of the first ones and almost immediately regretted it. It took them 2 decades, but they are finally putting out some quality stuff again at amazing prices - which is what I loved about them back in the 90s. I have a mid 90s pt945 which used the p92 design in a 1911 Commander package (remember what I said about them improving on other's designs?). Unlike most 1911 variants, this thing will eat whatever ammo you feed it including SWC. It is a true workhorse, and in my opinion, a thing of beauty. I am currently looking into the G3 and the TH9. I am also patiently awaiting a G3s. The prices on these things are completely insane for what you are getting. I an so happy to see Taurus getting their $h!t back together.
Owned a few Taurus pistols. It is hit or miss whether you're going to get one that functions well or one that is just plain awful. It seems to go by models and when you buy. My 92 and 24/7 were reliable an shot pretty well. Can't say the same for the 709 and Millennium Pro.
G43X with talon grip and night sights is the one for me. Amazing shooter with the best ergonomics.

Any thoughts on the “new”/rereleased M&P subcompact? I’d love a comparison between it and the shield, heck even lined up next to the p365 and 4” M&P compact. I love the M&Pc but can’t decide between the other 3 for a carry role(still skeptical on the sig).

I had some barrel peening right out of the gate with my 365, it got progressively worse as I used it so I finally set it up to have it sent to sig, they replaced the barrel and had it back to me within a week. Picked up a 320 in .45 last week, good gun.

Both mine made the list. 43X w/ 15 rounder in the fall and winter, P365 in the spring and summer.
Just bought a new Sig P 365 in the basic style. I bought it over the XL as concealment is most important to me right there with reliability. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but looking forward to it. If it performs like others say it has, it will become my daily carry piece. Thanks for all your videos. If its similar to Baltimore PD's you want to be extremely careful 1 cop got shot with his own gun by bumping into a car door of the person he pulled over.
@@mitchelll899 impossible its double action so even if it's loaded it can't fire. You must be thinking of another gun or somehow he accidentally pulled the trigger which seems crazy if it's in the holster. Also I never keep one in the chamber just to be safe. Makes me nervous having it pipped. If need be God forbid I need to defend myself I'll use the action quickly and then fire. Some do keep it ready to go but my life doesn't see much drama thank God. I'm really glad Sig worked out all the issues with the 365. I figured they would in time and the XL seems to be what they should of done to start with. I believe it's time to pick one up.
I just picked one up this week and I have to say it is very comfortable to carry got one made in December I also was waiting for them to get all the links out best decision I could have made.
Would like to compare them with the Springfield Hellcat and the CZ P10s

Just sold mine after buying both 365 and 365XL to carry instead, but still love the shield and never had a problem with it. Original or 2.0. But the 2.0 will rub ya raw if you don't have a shirt between it and your belly...👍
@@kentewell Nice, I have the 1.0 with the safety lever, I like the smooth frame variant better, because the rough texture version handle will ruin your clothing by shredding the cloth or can rid up your waist to expose the firearm...
The shield is a excellent choice. This is a great top 2. I’m sure the p365 was made to take the throne from the shield. But we can’t forget how great the shield was and still is!

Hellspeaker yea bro I know what you mean. I love Sigs and I love M&P. I own both. When I pick up the shield, the grip and the angle it points feel so much better than the 365. I think it comes down to the persons hand and fingers and preferences. Both conceal well. Both are great. Shield 2.0 is number one for me tho. Even though it’s only 8 rounds. I don’t care. I just carry a spare mag with a plus 2. 19 rounds is good enough lol
