In the lower levels people are only thinking about gaining positions instead of racing fair and strategically.

I find it funny how people are saying oh only a couple more weeks of GT Sport as if its just going to stop being used. There are people who do not have the funds to be able to buy GT7 straight away so I can see GT sport still going on for a while yet. Oh and great race

So i have brought a budget wheel its a Hori wheel been using it on f1 2021 but i just don't think the wheel is good for it so as a newbie should i get gt sports or wait until gt7 comes out to start on?

What a fantastic race, those ones don't come along all that often but when they do, they get the blood pumping. Noticed that you are still using the DD Pro, just wondered how you are getting on with it?. I placed my order a few days back but got the V3 pedals with it. With the V3 pedals, there are a lot of videos saying that the brake performance kit is a must, now having just spent a little over £1200 i really don't want to spend any more if i can help it, do you have them installed Rory? sorry for the the questions but it has been a big investment, moving from a G29.

Can you show the settings of your wheel and ingame settings somewhere?
In corners with a tighter radius than 90*, don't focus on corner speed so much. Sounds counter intuitive but your main goal is getting it rotated fully so you can shoot out. In rally, they slide hairpins because it essentially shortens the wheelbase and the speed of rotation is of primary concern. Brake a touch more, keep the front end just below the limit of grip and make exit speed the biggest concern. Sometimes leaving a little entry speed on the table gets you a better set up for the big straights because you can get to power pre apex.
This comment shaved half a second off my quali time trial… went from 1:39.555 to 1:39.067 very insightful stuff thank you

Quite enjoy this track, altho can never nail the braking point for the two 1st gear corners for some reason. 1st race I did, managed to get myself finished in 3rd, quite happy with that, but 1st and 2nd must not have used both tyres (they both pitted) and got the hour penalty!

I do 1.40,1 here. My favourite circuit.
1.40.3 for me. I used to loathe this circuit and Catalunya, but like both now.
I have heard complaint after complaint about the tuning in GT Sport. It's always been a thing in the world of GT. You guys realize that suspension tuning is a thing in real racing, yeah? Taking the same setup to different tracks isn't how it's done. Not every car manufacturer uses the EXACT SAME camber, toe, shocks and spring rates. To me, the biggest draw back to GT Sport is the lack of being able to adjust the suspensions to help with grip and tire wear. I've had some cars that can have a general setup and do OK at multiple tracks. If I take the time to practice and tune the car to the track, a second or better can be a great help and aid in tire wear. I understand that there are quite a few drivers on GT sport. I also understand that there are quite a few folks that just like to play the game. I for one, cannot wait for GT7 with a proper single player campaign. I can get back to tuning and practicing, actually enjoying time with the cars and tracks.
I'm not bashing anyone outright here. I applaud Polyphony for trying something interesting with the online racing. If I had the money and space, I would have loved to have a sim-racing setup... As it is, I don't and the controller can be quite difficult in traffic... Or I'm getting old and not as steady as I used to be.
Also, have I not seen you use setups in iRacing??

I find it funny that a lot of the TH-camrs don’t like the tuning races. I like how it adds another layer or strategy and competition to the race
I think it's cus they aren't mechanics, so knowing how to tune is a bit of an art in itself that I don't think many have the time or patience to learn.
i completely agree , been having great fun on this since monday, and even got a win today in driver rating c and now bumped up to b where racing is much cleaner,. i put the race up on my channel if any ones interested.

Good racing but not clever racing. All of you lost tons of time battling. Gaining positions is not the priority, having fun is, but imo it kinda killed the mood because all of that battling and seeing you start from P7 and ending up in P9 after all that hard racing.
