  • Hi guys
    I came to your service with another part of the tutorial on making a filament machine
    In this part, I want to have a surprise, I and a friend of mine, Mr. Robert Sa, were finally able to prepare a special movement code and reduce the costs, so that I have already used another Arduino board to control the movement, but now we control both the temperature and the movement with one board, of course this project is being completed, I would like you to tell me your opinion about this system, so that in the next editions we can have a more complete product.

    Instead of a ship IN a bottle, it’s a ship FROM a bottle, I like the play on words.

      @@mr3dp it is a play on words in English. Instead of building a ship inside a glass bottle(how they are traditionally put together) you took a plastic bottle and printed a ship from it. I like it :).

    You're amazing to share this information. This product called: PET bot costs around $400. And of course people want to make money out of it, but you are very generious to give us the knowledge to build one for our own, without breaking the bank. Therefore I am very thankful and I support your goal and vision. Keep up the great work!

    hello mr3dprint:
    The truth is that in the first editions of this great project, the electronic / arduino part looked a bit complicated, but reading the description I understood why now it looks simpler. my greetings to mr Robert sa for having collaborated with you and making the project simpler and cheaper.
    Greetings from Argentina and thank you for having shown it in detail so that the rest of us can do it too.

    I worked for a plastics company for many years and we had an extruder recycling plastic on an industrial level of course. You have the basic concept. you can run the heating side with a thermostat controller with a thermometer or even with a thermister, i use this, on the feed side, i join the plastic with a soldering iron to have a longer continuous feed. And i have a dc controllable motor on the take off side to roll on to a normal filament roll! good Work PM me for any help you may need

For easier starting you should add the following line after the extruder is heated (this should pause the gCode so you can load the filament into the puller): M0 Press to start motor

    Hello Mr3dPrint.
    I have no words to thank for sharing this invention and I really want to make one for myself. It is brilliant.
    Thank you very much really. I am following the process with great interest and excitement.
    The world needs more recycling and less garbage, the oceans ...
    Apart from making our materials cheaper, etc .. it's great :)
    I have a simple question: I am very new to 3D printing.
    Can I use the 2004 lcd instead of the 12864? It's a really insignificant detail, right?
    I suppose it is a question of having the Marlin with the corresponding screen library to use?
    Kind regards from Spain and I wish you all the best

      My opinion to improve the project or to contribute ideas that you ask in the description, is that it would be ideal if crushed plastics could also be used and that it was not a complicated system. I guess it would be a different machine or a very different concept.
      I mean in this machine a simple system that pushes crushed plastic is attached to it. Maybe I'm going a lot out of the original idea, I don't know, or maybe it's possible ...
      This one is cool and simple, the other idea would also be great in my opinion and would use different plastics from different packaging ...
      but with this philosophy of simplicity and materials within reach.
      Much encouragement and thanks for the great contributions and the desire to share.

    This is an awesome project. I'm wondering what the purpose of pumping air into the bottle and spinning it over the stove is though. Is it to smooth out the shape of the bottle so that it is easier to cut? Also, what is the thing that attaches to the bottle's cap that connects to the pump? Thanks for sharing this.

    • @mr3dp

    I've been waiting for this video for a long time! can I give you an idea '?? why don't you try to make like a funnel so as to insert all the remaining filament bottle caps etc etc? something that automatically drops the filament to the extruder would be wonderful

    • @ChristopherJones16
      @ChristopherJones16 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      huh? drops bottles caps into the extruder? Dont you mean into the heat block? Also did you mean to say.. to shred up the plastic bottle caps and then drop them into the heat block? If so the word you're looking for is a "hopper". OR are you saying for him to direct the filament into the extruder to print immediately upon making the filament instead of rolling it up on a wheel?

    Hi, thsnk you for some great explanations om this topic. I have 2 questions:
    1. Is it necessary to pressurise and heat up the bottle like you do in the beginning? Or what I be possible to skip this step?
    2. When you pull it out of the nozzle that is 1.7mm do you ever get inconsistent plastic size so maybe 1.5 instead? Does the plastic sometimes break when you are making the filament?

    • @l0k048
      @l0k048 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      he pressurizes the bottle so when he heats it up, the plastic expands uniformly and becomes smooth, so when the bottle is cut into a strip the maximum possible of the bottle is transformed into a strip, because those uneveness on the bottle may cause a inconsistent strip and/or break the strip when it's being pulled

    • @mr3dp
      @mr3dp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. The purpose of heating is to smooth the surface of the bottle, we do not do this for smooth bottles.
      2. When leaving the nozzle, if the traction speed is high, the gear filament will come out, load the attachment G-file, the speed is good
