The unforgivable bit was when he didn't give the position back straight away therefore robbing himself of the chance to retake his team mate legitimately. He chose to make a silly statement to show he was faster rather than actually giving himself the chance to win and prove it that way. If he was gonna ignore them and win the race then fair enough but he wasn't prepared to do that so he should have yielded then re overtook his slower team mate in the many laps still left.
@@braveheart4603 you think the team that created this mess exclusively to prevent their drivers from racing anyone would let them race each other once they’ve swapped back? 😂😂😂
@@braveheart4603 why on earth would he give the position "back"? He didn't do anything wrong. If the team screws it up for Piastri that's their problem. The only acceptable reason to give team orders would be to let Lando win because he is ahead in the championship.

At the end of day every single point matters especially when your car is the best and on a upward trend while your rivals performing relativity worse. What shocked me the most was how mclaren wouldn't say straightforward to Norris what the strategy was. Instead they kept beating around the bush, asking Lando to manage tires, avoid taking risks...This was so improfessional from the management imo. Clear and direct communication is key, especially in such situations

@@Jordyrugby yes me too....unless you are very new in this sport, something PW isn't, you cannot say that silly analysis cause Oscar didn't "torpedoed" Norris when getting to the 1st corner... it was a clean start from him and Norris, recognized by him, had a bad start.......as always
The whole reason Lando was leading is because the team brought him in first on a track where the undercut is massive to cover Lewis (even though it didn't look like he was in range). If they brought Oscar in first like they should have done Lando would've still been P2 but at least would've had the whole final stint to try and get past. All they had to do is box Oscar then box Lando the lap after and they race until the end. That was their mistake.
@@tetra3000 Hamilton was 10s behind Norris when he stopped, he came back 30s behind, in five laps he cut the difference from 30s to 25s. McLaren had time to spare to stop Piastri first and then stop Norris in the next lap. The undercut argument is absolutely nonsense. McLaren's strategy department is full of braindead people.
Throwing 7 points away for the WDC. The most unprofessional thing I have ever seen. Hundreds maybe a thousand people work their asses off to become world champion. And then they do this. It's not only a huge slap in the face for Lando but also for all the people in the team and factory. Unbelievable just unbelievable.
100%. They were under no threat from Lewis. The McLaren race managers created this ridiculous situation. On what planet would their logic ring true...I know, we'll disadvantage the lead car and then swap back around...that won't create an awkward situation at all...Note to McLaren, hire some people with perception.
Max would fit perfectly in the mid-eighties era with Piquet, Prost, Senna and Mansell. His attitude and ballsyness would have given great footage in fight with those guys.
That’s not true at all, they would have punched Max’s lights out many times for unsporting conduct. Cheats were not appreciated in the times of tough men. Maybe not Prost, but Mansell, Piquet, Senna and many more would not have put up with such hypocritical and selfish behaviour
@thankass4414 Not at all. Max would’ve had way more unfinished races because the others wouldn’t have moved out the way while racing. Max is the best driver but he’s not a great racer - he still oversteps the race line and anyone around still better beware.
People here think that the drivers of the past would tackle Max, but forget what Max did to Ocon after the race in Brazil. I think Max will hit back just as hard. Would have liked to see it, Max fighting with Senna, Schumacher and Prost and so on. Simply Lovely 🧡
5 mins in and im already gobsmacked. Did peter even watch the race? Im not convinced because he missed out the context before the pitstops. Oscar overtook lando at T1 and had a 3 second gap before the pitstops but mclaren, in mclaren fashion, prioritised the slower driver and gave him the undercut stategy. Im a brit, but this british bias is sickening. Oscar is just as good as lando already, he has been scammed out of a win and a few podiums just to favour norris and they still have identical career win totals. What lando should have done is give the place back immediately and then overtake oscar on track, if he really is as good as everyone seems to think he is.
@@MalcolmTann0Agreed, I couldnt believe what I was hearing. It was a completely clean move, its not like he did a max and locked up both fronts while missing the corner completely. And then peter went as far to say that oscar should give up the win for the norris because he should want to "win fair and square"??? We have seen senna, Schumacher and max "win" championships they shouldn't have by being dirty, unfair and "ruthless". He literally said that lando should be a more of a "racing driver" and not be so "fair and square"....now all of a sudden peter thinks oscar should be fair and square to lando???? For what? You cannot have your cake and eat it. You cannot have one guy obeying team orders, and the other guy doing whatever he wants. As I said, the british bias is sickening. Horrific take from peter today. Oh, the hypocrisy.
Cherry picking from the facts to spin the narrative is what this whole conversation is about. Extremely biased by Windsor. This should be a discussion on how Mclaren compromised Piastri's win and how Lando's completely illogical resistance to a gifted on track position ultimately hurt him from here on out.
Peter is not British, so can you explain how its possible for him to have " British bias "..?? If i remember correctly, hes from the same country as Oscar; Australia!
I can't be the only one who completely disagrees with Peter's take? I normally agree with most, but Oscar had full control of the race in the first stint. He is allowed to fight into turn 1 for position. Lando had a poor start. McLaren were to blame for this, not Oscar. Lando should've given the position back straight away and no doubt he would've overtaken on track.
Go see the start. Oscar did NOTHING wrong. I can't believe Peter is making such a big deal of it. Watch how Lando almost had Oscar in the barriers on the run down to Turn 1. Also, McLaren gifted Lando the lead by boxing him first. I can't believe Peter's take on this.
Bud, you don't "win" a race on the first corner, multiple drivers have won races starting from P20, a lot can happen in a race, to say Oscar deserved the win because he took the first corner is ridiculous. He went off track a few times as soon as the pressure was one, and cooked his tyres, went off into the gravel as well. As for overtaking on the track, they were told they were not allowed to race each other after lap 40, so your argument is moot.
I totally disagree with Peter here. Sure many great drivers would never have relinquished that position such as he did but many also would have seen the wider picture. Drivers like Lewis would have made a very calculated decision based on many wider factors rather than fight for every single win and every single position out of principle. Lewis is a great example of a driver who understands the politics and manoeuvres those type of things to his advantage to affect more than just a race win. Schumey was selfish but understood the wider politics well also. Those guys sacrificed wins to team mates in order to garner more support from a more bolstered team and it worked out very well for them. I also think there's a decent chance that your career goes the way fernando's did when you become solely self interested. Hopefully not for his sake but i feel Max is at risk of putting himself into the same bracket as Alonso and being viewed as toxic to team environments.

Because I'm pretty sure that Lewis or Max or Shumi, or Senna would do, or would of done.
Problem is social media. The team and more than likley Lando would have worried about how many "unfriends" they all would have got if lando took the win. Lando should have turned his radio off and kept his foot in. Webber would have explained to his mini-me.

Peter somewhat contradicts himself by saying, on one hand, that victory is the most important thing and that Lando should not let Oscar pass, but on the other hand, that Oscar should give up. Why? Winning is the most important thing. So why should Oscar give up?
34:12 Windsor criticizes Norris for not being ruthless and winning at all costs, and then says Oscar should give up the opportunity to win the race 😂😂😂😂
If the situations were reversed at that first corner, ie Piastri was on pole and Lando came through on the inside, I absolutely GUARANTEE Peter would be lauding it as a super racing move.
McLaren created this problem by not pitting the race leader in piastri first. If they did pitt piastri first then he is in front by 7 seconds and still likely wins by 3 or 4 seconds. End of.

What Windsor means to say when he exclaims “racers want to win” is that it should be at any cost. Sacrificing everything. Your integrity, reputation, sportsmanship, relationships, self respect even. Were Briatore and the team real racers crashing Piquet? Where’s the line? Should an 800m runner clip the heels of his rival in front? At what point do we stop lionising cheating effectively, or celebrating unsportsmanlike behaviour? The lore of those dramatic incidents as when Senna took out Prost on purpose, or Schumacher on Hill, belie the sour taste we all had in the moment, as the victory wasn’t earned through real racing. The history books may just show the numbers, but for those of us that remember, we all know in our heart of hearts there’s a good way, and a bad way to win.

Lets be honest, modern F1 is a mere reflection, a mirage of vintage F1. Like football and FIFA, the FIA have fucked the sport, and the ridiculous technology and money have also ruined the spectacle. Exactly 30 years ago, at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Benneton’s Schumacher had a fastest lap of 1 min 19 seconds. The fastest lap on Sunday was 1 min 22? Let that sink in. The cars have lost 1 second a decade in speed. The spectacle of F1, the attraction, its disappearing inexorably.

If Piastri was faster, it would have shown at the beginning of his second season. The closeness is due to a DNF and management cock ups. Piastri has felt his first victory. He does not need another freebie! No more Mr Nice Guy, Lando.
@@ChrisJohn-dg8mz The hardest thing in F1 is learning tire management. That's the only thing Oscar had to work on and still needs to work on, but is getting better each race. Everything else is on par with Lando or even better (race start reactions). This race win wasn't a freebie, McLaren made it difficult with their dumb strategy. He had a comfortable lead over Lando and the race was under control until McLaren decided to undercut him with Lando. So nothing was given to him, he earned it. I don't think Lando has that dog in him and with every new race Oscar will show he's the more talented driver.
Respect to both you and Mr. Windsor. In regards to Max on the radio though, it's funny to me that Peter thinks cussing has absolutely no place but being a petulant brat is totally fine. What an arbitrary line to draw. There are plenty of people in the world who do incredibly stressful jobs at the highest level and are still able to communicate with basic human decency. I work in health care and many people give surgeons a pass for being terrible to people because they are good at their job. Problem is I've met some of the best surgeons who also treat everyone respectfully. Talent/ability is no excuse to treat people poorly, even in the heat of the moment. And I honestly think getting a good night sleep is important as well. Again if you were having surgery tomorrow, would you want your surgeon staying up til 3 AM watching videos of different type of surgery? or would you want him getting 8 hrs of rest. keep up the good stuff gents.
PETER WINDSOR has completely lost me as a fan today, and so have you Cameron... why? Piastri had the race won, he got the lead and kept it until the final stops when Mclaren undercut him with Norris, pitting him two laps later and therefore losing the lead. Mclaren stole the lead from Piastri for no good reason and therefore it was right to give it back to him. You guys are chatting like Norris had earnt the win, absolutely not he was given the lead even though Piastri was leading and it was no fault of his own that the team pitted him two laps later. How about you correct Windsor and tell him the facts? he obviously has no idea what happened in the race. Very disappointed, I can't stand Windsor anymore after this even though I was a fan, it only takes one moment of stupidity to lose followers.
Right.. and if Lando had taken the win you could have also said that Lando was given the win on a plate by the team engineering the undercut over his team mate... which I presume Peter would have been fine with? ... because of his belief that Oscar is 'A clear number 2'
It’s incredibly shortsighted to believe letting Lando win that race would have been the best long term strategy after undercutting Oscar twice in that race! You have to be seriously delusional to neglect the possibility of Oscar being needed to assist lando in the future.
Someone in Sky commentary, maybe Martin, said that McLaren today seem to act like a small team, as though winning is new to them, even though they _are_ a big team with a _god tier_ history with the likes of Senna, Häkkinen et al. However, I feel that the damage caused by such a long period of _not winning,_ really has made them a shadow of their former selves.

Peter brings many types of insights and my favourite is the psychology of team-mates and management of same. To me, the psychology of the racer's mind is far more interesting than the technical details of the car/lap/etc.
Tough Lando would be a joy to watch - guess what's missing from F1? nearly dirty racing without the stewards pissing in the cereal after each overtake.
14:23 no one remembers Coulthard following team orders + giving the lead back to his teammate as a “breath of fresh air”. They remember Häkkinen winning the championship in 98. Respect to PW for bringing that scenario to our attention.
To quote one of Senna's most used and often controversial quotes "Being a racing driver means you are racing with other people and if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver - because we are competing, we are competing to win, and the main motivation to all of us is to compete for the victory.” Senna, in his words wasn't designed to finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th and whilst I don't want to glorify Senna's quote above, as it's context was taken in consideration with his infamous crash with Prost at Suzaka, what I will say as Peter is alluding to, is that Lando needs to have more desire & bloody single mindedness - and get some arrogance too.

Something that epitomized Lando to me, more than anything. Which people don't seem to have noticed, that in the cool down room after the race. Lewis mentioned how fast Lando and Oscar's McLarens were during the race. Like really amazed. And Lando took it all the wrong way, and was saying oh well you've had your fast cars in the past, now it's our turn. Wtf was that all about? Peter doesn’t know what McLaren means by having a team behind Norris? It simply means that one day he might need Oscar, his teammate to get a decisive win and he shouldn’t burn that bridge. Oscar has helped him many following team orders in the past, Oscar has also driven impeccably in Hungary and shouldn’t lose the win because McLaren made a shitty decision in the pits. Also he’s taking the credit of Oscar in the first corner, really? Oscar did a move on Norris. Fair move. Risky? Sure, that’s why it was great. Norris lost his position because his launch was worse. Simple. Biased much?
In his own video, Peter said Oscar should have given up the win. In general a racing driver should always go for track position! "They are investigating, give back the position" >>> you keep your place, you race and even if after the race they keep investigating, you've done your best on track.
At the time of the pit stop, Piastri was in front and should have be given the undercut. The engineers created the mess by allowing Norris to pit first. McLaren is at fault, not Piastri, not Norris.
Norris is not initially at fault but he handled it extremely poorly. bitch and moan backstage, dont try to grab a gifted win.

Sorry Peter Windsor… as much as I admire your contribution to Australian motor sport i must disagree with your hypothesis in this matter. 1. Max vertappen racing skills are to be admired - Not his disrespectful behaviour & putting others at risk! 2. Lando’s decision to swap position was to be admired. It took courage! That is what is going to make hime a better person & race champion than Max. 3. Oscar should not have considered letting Lando keep 1st position? This was his 1st race win? Why on earth would a young Oscar think that way? Should Max have surrendered his 1st World Championship in Abu Dabi based on the fact that lewis was the better driver in that race? The race contro;;er gave him his 1st WC not his skill. Bad & disrespctful behaviour should never be supported… no matter what sport your in. Condoning Max Verstappen behaviour is not role model conducive! The best world Champions demonstrate respect on all levels - They are the best role models. If I’m Lando I say, “Now he’s a race winner, can we focus on winning championships?” McLaren are using Ferrari strategy under the Aston Martin guise of chasing championships when their actions are not representative of a championship culture.
As a relative F1 casual, I still don't understand why McLaren did that. If Piastri was already #2 and he wasn't fast enough to catch Norris of his own merit, why would McLaren request that?
Oscar was infont. Oscar had all the clean air and was doing well. The only reason Lando was pitted first was to protect Lando from Hammo and Max. Even though it was a small chance it was none the less a chance. I dont get where Peter is coming from. It was Oscars win
I think the argument is because Oscar was the faster driver up until the pit stop he should have been given the best strategy. Because lando was slower and Mclaren were woried about Hamilton they decided to pit him first giving Norris the better strategy, and allowing him to undercutt Piastri. The argument is that it is not fair on Oscar that he got undercut because Mclaren only pitted Norris first because he was slower than Piastri and Mclaren were worried about Hamilton undercutting them. Imo Mclaren should have inverted the cars immediately and then let them fight to the end.
How the hell can the winner be deceided in a meeting 2 days before a race? "We agreed in the meeting on friday that...blah blah........" Total rubbish, idiotic and shamefull.
Good lort I do enjoy listening to you two gents discuss it all!! Could you perhaps ask Peter about how he got the gig doing the post race interview room moderating?? Lando needed to give that position back. They agreed previous that that would be their way. He was clearly faster than Piastri. He should have done it earlier and then past Piastri on track. I commend him for keeping his word. Not too many people have that kind of integrity. The problem is that they were all (except Piastri) talking way too much on the radio.
Oscar won the race at the first turn. The team screwed him with a weird call to pit Lando first. This is easy to see if you're not a Brit to be honest.
Lando only led the race because McLaren put him there to protect a 1-2 becoming a 1-3 with Lando in third. Next time pit the #1 leading car first (Piastri) and let the chips fall where they may for the #2 car. See how Lando acts then.

McLaren is the new Ferrari. They created a potential conflict between their two drivers that was never there. That’s very poor management! There is no other way you can judge it.
Come on McLaren, what the hell are you doing? You actually OWED Lando that win for screwing up his last pit stop (41/2 seconds) plus you put the wrong tires on his car at Silverstone. Now you threaten him if he doesn’t give up his easy win yesterday?
The only deeper reasoning I can think of for Mclaren wanting their second driver get a win is so their drivers have the pressure of winning their first grand prix out of their system. Maybe? 🤔
I think the incident highlights the difference in mentality between Max and Lando. Remember Brazil 22 Max wouldn't even give up P6 (from memomy) to Perez when he was already champion. I think Lando did the right thing, but I think Mclaren really need to review their strategy; they keep putting their drivers in these awkward situations with poor strategy. Mclaren should have inverted their cars immediately after Oscar was undercut. There was like 10 or so laps left, they robbed us of an entertaining battle for the race lead. Furthermore, Mclaren have now somewhat tainted Oscar's first win.

The unforgivable bit was when he didn't give the position back straight away therefore robbing himself of the chance to retake his team mate legitimately. He chose to make a silly statement to show he was faster rather than actually giving himself the chance to win and prove it that way.

The whole reason Lando was leading is because the team brought him in first on a track where the undercut is massive to cover Lewis (even though it didn't look like he was in range). If they brought Oscar in first like they should have done Lando would've still been P2 but at least would've had the whole final stint to try and get past.

You're not the only one. Peter has an excellent take 99% of the time in my opinion, but here he is just talking nonsense.
yes! I couldn’t believe it when he said McLaren were right for not double stacking in Silverstone. Didn’t you see Merc fam?
He's losing me a bit with these takes.
Absolutely agree with Peter. Lando is not going to win a World Championship with his current attitude. He needs to get tough. And soon

And Lando took it all the wrong way, and was saying oh well you've had your fast cars in the past, now it's our turn. Wtf was that all about? To me it's all about Lando thinking everything has to be fair, fair, fair. Nothing in Formula 1 is fair. The best, take the best for themselves. He's far too nice to win a World Championship
Lewis has used the "they are so fast" line lot in the past when sandbagging so its hard to distinguish when its genuine
@@Visual_Ghoul I was pointing out Lando's response, more than Lewis's comment. But on the subject of Lewis. He's the epitome of a Champion. He knows how to get what he wants, whilst being courteous and a gentleman. Max and Lando, et al, should look to him as the example of a true champ
@@mattalford389Lando isn't the sharpest of the current crop of drivers. Still has a big chip on his shoulder, when his car is fastest. His salty reply shows he's still sensitive about having the fast car.
@@bensynewsshoedown4999 Agreed. And Lewis is the master at Mind Games too. I think his comments were planting the seeds of pressure on these two young guns.
That was disgusting how they threatened Lando to allow someone else to win.
Not really what if the roles are reversed in Abu Dhabi & Norris could win the championship
lando pushed oscar against the wall on the start, he was not "that kind", but he left more space that if it was another car, probably ^^
Fella hit the nail on the head it’s an absolute farce . Imagine Alonso Lewis max even button at that stage in their career . It just wouldn’t happen. I’d love to see it come down to a 10point gap . Piastri is nowhere near contention splitting races just makes both drivers suffer. Absolute bollocks
Lando isn’t anywhere near contention either.
Now I understand the McLaren situation.
I wondered why Norris tried to cover Piastri at the start rather than both blocking the field until the first corner.
I still haven’t heard a word of Zak Brown since the Hungarian gp, whats his opinion on the matter?
I thought Peter was usually spot on with his criticism of drivers but listening to him crap on about lando doing McLaren a huge favour by saving them a big pile up on the first turn is embarrassing I’m out
Peter doesn’t know what McLaren means by having a team behind Norris? It simply means that one day he might need Oscar, his teammate to get a decisive win and he shouldn’t burn that bridge. Oscar has helped him many following team orders in the past, Oscar has also driven impeccably in Hungary and shouldn’t lose the win because McLaren made a shitty decision in the pits.
Also he’s taking the credit of Oscar in the first corner, really? Oscar did a move on Norris. Fair move. Risky? Sure, that’s why it was great. Norris lost his position because his launch was worse. Simple.
Biased much?
this!
In his own video, Peter said Oscar should have given up the win. Come on, indeed - an inconsistent position like that is not Peter's usual approach, he seems more heated about this one for some reason, and it shows. Arguing Stewards should have investigated Oscar's pass at Turn 1 after the start? WTF
Max is the same as he was when he just started.
Yeah and what is wrong with that? He is what he is,a damn hard fully committed racing driver. Mercyless. We don.t want gentlemen drivers with smokings calling "After you". Social media is rubbish, messing up peoples minds. The death of many things because people are guided by social media. They forget to form their own opinions, rational thinking.
His mentality made him one of the goats of F1.
If Lando had changed places straight away he could of caught Oscar passed him and won the race
then you run the risk of contact on a pass with zero points.. after mclaren messed up the pit stop they shouldve let it ride out and taken responsibility for it. Oscar would get his first W eventually but now his first W is ruined.
@@62dingbat I don't think they would have allowed that to happen. I bet the deal was whoever goes into the first corner in first place will take priority.
Deciding the winner 2 days before the race....total fix.
@@seemssafe2995 But they literally said over the radio "you can race the Papaya car" early on. So that couldn't have been the case. I think if Lando was told the full plan and agreed to take the undercut, he should've said "agreed, as long as I'm able to race him after giving him the lead and letting him regain the preexisting 2-3 second advantage". That would have meant nobody questioning Oscar's first win, Lando could've had a chance to get full points properly, and the team wouldn't have had to be begging over the radio which was unbecoming.
Lando was clearly faster in the last stint and I agree that they would've been at least within fighting distance. At that time though, if there's only a few laps left the team could come in and say look this isn't worth it.
you don't take into account that if happened Oscar would be aware and would say goodbye to look after the tyres then we would have seen a big fight when contact would have been possible and the points potentially would have gone for both driver and the Constructors champ would have suffered then MV would have left Hungary in a better position...this scenario would have been possible..think about it
@@seemssafe2995 i agree with what you say but having worked on the inside Motor Cycle Racing for 20 years also for 3 years in with the FIM the F1 by the FIA Is sold to the world as a race BUT THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE WHAT THE WORLD RECIEVES ANY LONGER
I was waiting for Lando to simply say, "Thanks for just convincing me to sign my RedBull contract for next year." McLaren embarrassed themselves so much I don't know if they can recover from how embarrassing that was.
He should have refused.
It was a team 1-2 anyway but
Wndsor is out of his tree criticising Piastri's driving into turn 1...it was perfection
Even I know. Take the win today over promises for tomorrow. Lando should have said no.
100k fine for swearing cmon Peter that is just ridiculous these guys aren’t robots let them show their emotions
Can someone tell me of one other pundit who's said Oscar made an error on Turn 1? Peter seems obsessed by this. Looked like a typical aggressive Turn 1 on the opening lap of a Grand Prix. I just rewatched the start. I don't see Lando having to take evasive action at all. How could he with Max on his outside?
PW is unbalanced.
@@BuildHQ-auHe’s usually extremely interesting and insightful but he’s just so so wrong on this one especially the first corner “incident”. Just watched Palmer’s analysis and surprise surprise zero mention of it.
Love the music at the start! Sets up the video very nicely
brillant thoughts about social medias, thanks for sharing your passion! indeed lando has a e-reputation to care, with quadrant and all that stuff, but not sure if he will be congratulated or hated to offer that victory. it's like 50% of fans are admiring that and 50% of fans are hating that 😂
I like Oscar, but I totally agree with Peter. I would not have wanted to win that way.
I would go with Cameron's take, Lando is to nice, to be world champion you have to be ruthless.
Lewis is hardly ruthless. Everyone seems to love him
@@AJS86 Pre 2017 Lewis was quite ruthless.
@@AJS86 Really?
Go watch his time with Rosberg
Lando will never be like Max, you can't change someones character/personality..... You either 'have it' or you don't .... (same with Charles, too 'nice'....)
Charles is ruthless...he was with Seb
I doubt Lando will resign with McLaren. The emotional blackmail was out of this world.
McLaren was absolutely embarrassing yesterday. I can't fathom how they were able to make such a huge win into such a huge L. I mean did they not realize that their actions would put the team in a strange place. Personally I think the only way this could be a little more acceptable if the team had agreed to let Oscar get the win if he was in the lead to get his first win out of the way then after the rest of the season will be focused on Lando. Regardless of it all, this is a terrible look for the team and I 100% want to hear Zak Brown's thoughts on the matter
I want my son to be fair & respectful in anything he does in life. Not be a selfish, spoilt and disrespectul person who does anything to win & chucks childish tantrums when losing!
@@jamie4943 Ahhh okay I get ya, that clears up a lot. Thanks for the info dude!
@@TrumpAndKamila yeah I don't get what Peter is talking about when it comes to the race start as well. Clean pass from Piastri.
Why should piastri have to pass Lando when Lando couldn't pass him?? Team swapped them, don't ping this on Piastri, Libtard.
Lewis isn’t rejuvenated. He always loves the second part of the season.
He's a bit of a slow starter isn't he?
How the hell can the winner be deceided in a meeting 2 days before a race?
"We agreed in the meeting on friday that...blah blah........"
Total rubbish, idiotic and shamefull.
Good lort I do enjoy listening to you two gents discuss it all!!
Could you perhaps ask Peter about how he got the gig doing the post race interview room moderating?? Peter used to ask the hardest hitting racing questions mere minutes after the drivers were out of their cars. And it was awesome and even the drivers loved it.
From Lando No-Wins to Lando One-Win to Lando No-Balls... all in the span of 8 races. Take a bow.
And Oscar wagging the "Seb finger" in his face after the race was the icing on the cake... you just couldn't make this up.

You should give him yours then as its clear you don't use or need yours.
@@godsmercenary4869 true
BTW - I agree that Max should not use the F-word in public radio transmissions - however, I have often seen/heard non-native speakers of English lack the nuance that native speakers are capable of. Agree with Peter that the art of defense is very important - but passing is rated much higher than defense: listen toCroft from Skysports say "Brilliant racing" when Lando passed Max (and the other way about later) in Silverstone as a result of DRS...."Brilliant Racing"?????
Lando needed to give that position back. They agreed previous that that would be their way. He was clearly faster than Piastri. He should have done it earlier and then past Piastri on track. I commend him for keeping his word. Not too many people have that kind of integrity. The problem is that they were all (except Piastri) talking way too much on the radio.
I have listened to Peter a bit now and I agree he is a wise F1 personality!
Lando would have won had they done that
@@LawsonSims44 Yes and he'd also likely have won the race if he'd just gave the place back when he was supposed to. I knew he was ultimately not gonna go against the team so i'm pulling my hair out during the race wondering why lando is messing up his own chances of a legitimate win. He had way more pace in that last stint and woulda been heavily favoured to overtake oscar but instead got caught up in the nonsense politicking.
@@braveheart4603 mate he was not supposed to cause he did not agree to anything prior to that, he simply listened to the team and pitted and then was 1st, he should have won but the team threatened him with not helping for the rest of the season

"You can be remembered as that nice guy who was a great teammate...or you can be remembered as a world champion."
M. Shumacher to S.Vettel.
This is F1, not a playground. #1 goal is maximun points towards the WDC, and beat your teammate. Lando ran his own race and came out ahead.
The team screwed Oscar, yet again, and that should be on them. They absolved themselves of that mistake and put that burden on Lando, the radio messages were insufferable. Big L for McLaren. If Lando loses the championship by 7 points, Stella needs to be fired or Norris should leave.
Always wait for this one after the race !!!
You won’t win the championship if you let your teammate have points that you could have had
The only deeper reasoning I can think of for Mclaren wanting their second driver get a win is so their drivers have the pressure of winning their first grand prix out of their system. Maybe? 🤔
I think the incident highlights the difference in mentality between Max and Lando. Remember Brazil 22 Max wouldn't even give up
P6 (from memomy) to Perez when he was already champion.
