- Now let's check out the GameBoy version of SuperSponge! Most people are familiar with the second SpongeBob SquarePants video game, SuperSponge, but the GameBoy Advance edition isn't as well known. It's notable for being remarkably true to the console edition, so let's see how it is!

For some reason, some of the tracks in the GBA version suffer from that weird audio quirk. There are clean uploads of the tracks on SoundCloud. And on SoundCloud, those issues are gone. Maybe there was a technical issue that caused the tracks to warp like that. It was always a nitpick for me when I was a kid, playing it on a 2-pack.
I still have the double pack on GBA
@@xpdev0 Same here. Grew up with the gba version paired with revenge of the flying dutchman
5:13 LOL, even though it looks poorly animated (the helmet is a still image on top of SpongeBob that doesn't even move correctly when his head goes back and fourth), they really should have put that water helmet in the console version.
It’s cool to see that you’re making separate videos for both the ps1 and gba versions of supersponge
He should do that more in the future.
It's funny, the music in this game (all sfx actually) are pitched up 12 semitones, or twice their speed. if you were to slow all the audio samples down to half time, it just sounds like the ps1 version but compressed. No idea why they did this
These games feel so rough, just by looking at them...
Did you ever review the GBA Battle For Bikini Bottom? That's the one I have very good memories of.
I had this game as part of a 2-in-1 with Revenge of The Flying Dutchman as a kid but I've played this one the most
Squidwards looks kinda like a god, looking down on his creation spongenbob.
*spongenbob*
do you know if youll be doing any of the major fangames like Around The Clock?
it contains a lot of references to some of the more obscure games youve played on the channel so youd probably enjoy it
I’ve thought about it! I may cover them in the future!
I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but after seeing the Anti-Luci Club, it warrants asking ~ Why hasn't there been a video on the Jumpstart 4th Grade replacement, Sapphire Falls? It appears to be the last one in the Adventures sub-series not covered, so it would probably be a good idea to as it's been months since 6th Grade disappointed.
I definitely plan to cover it! The case has actually been sitting on my desk for a while. I planned to do it a while back but I couldn't get my version of it to work. I bought another and played it to a certain point, recording everything, then it completely froze and has since refused to go anywhere beyond that point. I took a break from it to focus on more cartoon games, but I do plan on going back to it.
I played this game when I was a kid two years ago I found it along with 3 other Nickelodeon games on one cartridge thanks for the nostalgia!
great video as always :D though did you see the magic shop from the episode f.u.n. made an appearance at 5:39 ?
I never knew you could get a helmet in the treedome level lmao wouldve made it easier as a kid
It’s a good day today cause the goat uploaded a new video
3:27 0 days not mentioning wix
I’m getting this game soon. It’s a combo pack with battle for bikini bottom, and is kinda rare from my understanding as it was only released in Europe. I think both versions are good, however I think the gba version has a slight edge to the psx one. Also if you’re gonna start reviewing every SpongeBob game, I’m all here for it. You should check out revenge of the Flying Dutchman next, but be warned, if you play the ps2 version, there is a VERY big glitch where if you go into a new area, your game will crash. Also you have to manually save in the pause menu, so just play the GameCube version. There is a gba Flying Dutchman, and gotta be honest, it’s not good or fun. (Also in Sandy’s treedome, where is the water helmet, cuz I can’t find it anywhere)
I'd love to cover Revenge of the Flying Dutchman! I have a lot of special memories with that one. And in the treedome, there's a part on the leftmost side of the screen where it looks like you can spring on a nest to a higher branch, but you just barely miss it. If you go over the edge to the left and fall into the tree leaves you might be able to find it.
@@lucililium ok, and thanks for the treedome thing.
@@lucililium 4:13: Actually, despite being called “Squidward”, he’s an Octopus; that’s because they originally planned to call him Octoward, but decided to give him a more catchier name.
8:27: Those are Torpedos.
I acknowledged that in the video before this. It's a recurring joke with cephalopods. That's why I use that term.@@robbiewalker2831

Enter the Anti-Luci Club
Ooo I’m always like Sonic when you post😂 super fast to watch😜
Did you answer my request of gba spongebob games? Nice!
Great video!
Man this fella makes some enjoyable videos
Can you make a review on as animaniacs game pack for the PC, please 🥺🙏🏻
It should be called Advanced SuperSponge.
The weird sound effect in a lot of the music is actually not intentional. It's a result of a limitation on the GBA's sound engine. You can listen to the soundtrack without that limitation in this playlist: PLJYOFsSdyjESkpDxa8zF9Mey1jNE7y7ru
In a weird way, I think I like this better on GBA even though it is a little worse in some aspects. The game is more impressive to me by that system’s standards than it is by PlayStation’s.
I mean even the sprites just look like they were downscaled from the PS1. Which isn't surprising considering how much of the game was 2D. And when you consider that this was being played on a GBA players are less likely to notice all the artifacting.
it 2.5D
The one Lonely Goomba played
SuperSponge should have been on the GBA because the PlayStation one had the same graphics as the GBA one
Odd feeling comment, is a port si ir course it was directed to the same assets.
The Non-Man Ray Lair!™
I had already SuperSponge on PSX and GBA.
Would be cool to see you talk about some Disney flash games. I remember there being a game I played for the Disney show lab rats, but I don’t remember the name of it and I’m not sure what your level of interest in that will be. Also I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment.
2:44 WHY IS SQUIDWARD GREEN HERE? 🤣🤣
Is it bad that I actually prefer the GBA version of this game over the PS1 version? SpongeBob feels FAR easier to control in this game over its PS1 counterpart. It also doesn't have the weird 3D style of the PS1 version... and ironically *less* screen crunch. A handheld adaptation having less screen crunch than its console counterpart is practically unheard of.
I just beat the gba supersponge on a emulator a few days ago
Yo bro can you make a vid about the old SpongeBob animation parodies (panchitomatrix,flatflat100,cooler2000)
@@Someboringmariofan i still watch him to this day 😭
4:12
4:11 Not again. (Since when is there an Anti-Luci club?)
This game looks like a bootleg lol
