Mr Glass.. the fusion is my first camera ever.. I am on an Android phone and laptop PC.. are there any resources you recommend on shooting and editing... I am absolutely clueless.. videoproc blogger....movavi are free editing programs tailored to GoPro cameras.. At present I haven't downloaded or filmed a thing.. I don't even have SD memory cards
good vid thanks. I can buy the fusion 2nd hand for £140 on ebay in the UK. The max is nearly double that. I think I would rather get the fusion as these cameras will become quickly obsolete when the next big jump in video quality comes out which cannot be long now.
I too hope a miracle will happen and new 360 camera is released in 2022 by GoPro or Instagram with large improvements in resolution and sensor versus similar hardware specifications to their past camer and changes in software and design to make it seem camera is new or better when it really is just easier to use and minor difference in quality. I think next Insts360 camera might be better to purchase as they have better software which makes you look like video editing genius. But kind of gimmicky perhaps. My current opinion is GoPro is not able to compete with Insta360 in software and does not try.
I see there was a big improvement regarding resolution. On the FUSION there was more image noise oposed to the new MAX. Regarding Stitch line Fusion seamed to do a better job. Regarding editing process MAX looks easier, or faster than the Fusion Studio, but it might only be my impression after all.
I agree in low lighting when I zoom in close on captures the GoPro Max seem to have more noise than Fusion. I will be comparing video and images in identical well lit situations soon. I have captured some images and videos in low light garage again but with Insta360 One X, Fusion and Max for comparison so I will see if the other images and video were a fluke and see how the last generation of Insta360 camera compares. TheGoPro max workflow is way better than Fusion. But as a Premiere Pro user the Insta360 has them both beat as I can take the files directly off memory card and edit them directly within Premiere Pro without any additional processing. But I find the random red dot in images and video of Insta360 products captured in sunlight to be annoying which is one reason I decided on GoPro Max over Insta360 One R. The second is the reported issues with moisture inside lens one One R.. The Insta360 One X having raw and HDR images makes me feel GoPro is insane for releasing GoPro Max with neither and not adding them into a firmware release. Maybe they are saving those features for their next 360 camera release so we will buy yet another GoPro camera.

If you can afford I suggest GoPro Max because it will save you time during editing. In some situations Fusion may be better quality but workflow is terrible making it not worth it for people who value time. Download files and software for both prior to purchase. Edit the photo and video files. Then decide which camers is best for you. This is best so you make your own decision and not regret your choice. Max screen is bigger and easier to change settings as is more modern with swiping. Fusion is LCD type of screen and pretty old school clunky to get to correct setting as you have to push the buttons to scroll through screens and move up and down. .
I would suggest Invest in something else unless you don't mind the amount of time it will take to process the Fusion files. Maybe find and download sample files and gopro PC app and process them and do the same for another camera. Then ask yourself which you would be willing to do over and over.
Fusion is marginally better in image quality if you take images in raw. But also consider the workflow difference. If doing interior virtual tours to generate income I think perhaps Theta Z1 would be best choice for sub $1000 360 Camera. Insta360 OneX 2 or one R would be another alternate cameras to consider.
I do not have 10 million. I have 100. Not sure what you are seeing. If you can convince 10 million to subscribe to my channel and watch all my videos I will buy you a new car. 😉

I have note used any lens protectors or mounted to helmet so I can't provide advice. Honestly I would suggest saving money and buying GoPro Max or perhaps Insta360 OneX or OneR as the workflow is far superior and will save you lots of time. What graphic card have your computer?. Ram is good. But what give you rendering speed is dedicated graphic card.
Video card is Nvidia GTX 1080 from MSI.

It certainly can be due to costs and ability to do raw photos. But I think Max is easier/quicker to use.
