I've decided to try and complete the second nickel coin roll hunting series books to see how many bank boxes it takes to fill the entire Dansco Album for Nickels dated 1938-1998. There are 136 slots to fill in Series 2 Books and the mission is to BEAT the 167 boxes it took for Series 1.
This is part 118 of the series (Boxes 100-101 for Series 2) and I do plan on updating it from each nickel box I hunt from this point forward until the nickel coin collection is completed!

FYI - The Dansco Album does not have spots for some coins but we'll be hunting these boxes of nickels for Silver Nickels, Buffalo Nickels, Proof coins, Old Jefferson Nickels (namely semi-key and key date nickels), Liberty V Nickels and 2009's for their low mintage.

I’ve been a numismatic since I was 10 years old. My parents had 30 rolls of Frankies and silver Kennedy halves. The look of all that silver got me hooked! Anyway I have always checked my change and anyone else’s change for old coins. Even though I’ve been looking for 55 years, I’ve never found a 50D Jefferson. The one in my book way purchased from a coin shop. Good Luck!

The misc. is a token from the now-defunct Aladdin's Castle chain of gaming arcades...there are two versions (at least) 1 brass and 1 copper nickel both around the 4-4.1g mark! (I couldn't find a date, but I'm guessing pre 2006?)
1982 20 pence is the first year so there were a lot of those - about 740 million - but keep an eye out for the NIFC 1986 (the only 20p coin prior to 2017 not to be issued for circulation)

I did my first coin hunt ever today. (2 rolls of pennies, 2 rolls of nickles and 2 rolls of dimes.) I found two buffalos, a steel penny, 6 wheat pennies and a 10 copper pennies.
Buffalo and silvers always make for a fun hunt.
A big help that I use on the no date buffalo nickels is, i take a qtip and soak it with white vinegar.. Works much better than nicadate and doesnt damage the nickel.. Love your channel and God bless..
The silver jar got some food, there were upgrades and an addition and an old buffalo nickel was found. Not a bad exercise in numismatic spelunking.

I spent a lot of my youth in a video game arcade called Aladdin‘s Castle …. I think that’s one of their tokens
Great hunt there! Last week, I found two war nickels at work. I was opening a roll to go in the till, and there was a 1943 D three coins in. Poured out the rest of the roll, and found a 1944 S.

The mystery token I believe is a Aladdin's Castle. I believe you're holding it upside down though.

Rob, without the Nick A Date only God knew it’s a 1914 D. So, it doesn’t matter. Can’t be a $50 coin because no one on the Earth can see the date and it was beat. It was $.05 coin when it hit your hand and is a $10 coin after the Nick A Date Thank God for $10 rare Buffalo my friend. 💪🏻👌🏻😂

The arcade token is from Aladdin's Castle
That token you found is from Aladdin's Castle, an arcade chain found in malls in the 1980s. It's made of brass.

I don’t understand why the 1926 S is worth less than the 1913 S Type 2 and the 1914 D! The Coin is literally the only Buffalo minted under 1,000,000! I was lucky enough to pick two in the Buffalo Nickel bin at my LCS three years ago for $0.20 each!

That's definitely an Aladdins castle token. I used to have a couple. Someone cheated the coinstar machine. 😄 Awesome buffalo. Such a shame it's destroyed.
When I was a kid going through the buffalo nickel box at one of my favorite coin shops I found a 24-S in the mix. With 1.4 million minted it was definitely one of the key dates. I think I got it for around .25 then.

That’s a really good find. If it has close to a full date & is better than G4 condition then that’s a really wonderful find. I got half a roll of silver quarters yesterday for face value. None were newer than 1957.

Bally's Aladdin's Castle token. (its an oldie)...fyi, you were holding it upside down on the one side without the castle....

The 1914d looks like it was part of piece of jewelry. The Buffalo side has two rivet holes.
Love the hunts too Rob … regarding the token … The back opposite the palace is upside down maybe. Flip side to side instead of over the top!

That is an old video game Time Zone token from the mid 80s. Not sure if it was a chain, but it was a video game and pinball parlor token.

Rob… I had the best face value find ever. I went to my local bar. I heard the shake of silver. The bartender dumped out the roll of quarters she put into the cup. Half of the roll was silver! 20 silver quarters & I paid $5. You can’t do better than that. Honestly I don’t think this will ever happen again. Great job on the Buffalo.😌
