    In Australia the combined price of the XPC yoke and throttle quadrant is $1,118. And that's not including the hub. Adding that bumps it up to $1,200. Can't justify that price over the Turtle Beach which I picked up at launch for $479. I don't doubt that the Honeycomb is better quality considering the stickiness in the V1. But the price here is probably out of reach for the average Xbox gamer.

    The thrustmaster boeing yoke is both Xbox and P.C. compatible,
    It is smoother and more precise than the honeycomb yoke,
    It also makes the thrustmaster TPR Pendular Rudder Xbox compatible as it plugs directly into the yoke.

    Hi Mark, I am thinking of purchasing the alpha and bravo to use with an Xbox series X for MSFS. I note another flight sim U-tuber said that they weren't able to get the bravo gear indicator lights or annunciator panel lights to work when using the bravo with Xbox. I can see from your video you’re using the bravo with your xbox. I was wondering if you experienced a similar problem and if so were you able to fix it? Cheers rob

    Thanks for yet another excellent review.
    I have the original Alpha and Bravo and at the price point they are, for what it's worth and in my opinion, significantly better than the competition, including the Turtle Beech V1 which was admittedly a little cheaper than the HC combo (I previously owned the TB and eventually sold it on).
    The Bravo quadrant in particular is stunningly good value given the features and build quality it provides - indeed on reflection it seems to me under-priced and, knowing what I know now, I would happily have paid more as I don't think anything else in this price range comes close.
    The Alpha yoke is amazing value too. This new variant/edition will be great news for Xbox simmers and appears much the same as my 'old' Alpha, excepting the upgrade to hall-effect sensors and the now spring-loaded magneto/starter switch. Also noticeable is a change to the illuminated front panel which I think does look a little better. The hall-effect sensors I'm not so concerned about as my old PC only Alpha feels very fluid and sensitive in any case but I do wish I could just upgrade the starter switch because this has always been a minor niggle for me (but not enough to warrant buying the new version as I don't use the Xbox for simming at all).

      I think your comments are juvenile, irresponsible and inconsiderate of MOST of the flight sim community. Just because you can afford to foolishly throw considerable amounts of money away on a hobby, does not mean most others are that ignorant or compulsive. People have families to take care of, and can't spend all their money irresponsibly because they live in their parents basement. The prices of these peripherals are TOO HIGH, and thus Honeycomb has priced MOST of the flight sim community right OUT of its customer base. By doing so, they infuriate a large section of this community, and that is just bad business. It's also a horrible business plan to price your product in the top ten percent of a community of hundreds of thousands. They could actually make more money by pricing it into a more common price bracket, and thus gaining most likely more than a 40% increase in their customer base. Pricing for the top ten percent is shortsighted and narrow minded. See Russell Murray's comment just below mine as exhibit number one... His situation is EXACTLY the situation of MOST of the flight sim community.

    I went with the Thrustmaster TCA yoke on sale for £250 as I didn’t like the fact there’s so little roll resistance on the Alpha. I saw someone turning it with their little finger. The Thrustmaster has great pitch and roll resistance, combined with the Bravo I got on sale for £150, and am very happy with this combination.

    My current PC won't handle MSFS 2020 so a nice PC update would cost me around $4 ,000 or $5,000. An X-Box would cost me around $500, hard to justify paying that kind of money if you only won't to run MSFS 2020? Seems like X-Box might be the way to go given honeycomb controls are now available? I'm just getting back into Flightsim after 20 years away. I used to have the CH Yoke for FSX, which I found quite good at the time. The original Alpha Yoke has just gone on sale at Curry's for £150, which seems like a bargain, and I don't have (or intend to get) an Xbox, so is it worth paying the extra £110 for the XPC? It sounds like all you get for the extra money is slightly smoother sensors and a spring loaded start switch. How much smoother is the newer version? Is it £110 smoother or are we talking a small percentage difference? Also, did they fix the imbalance between the tension of the roll vs pitch axis in the newer version? I heard multiple people moan that in the original, it was quite hard to pitch up and down and very easy to roll. How is it on the new one?

      @@SimHangerFS So you don't notice a difference in smoothness? I saw a pilot reviewing the Yoko vs the original honeycomb and he was saying the Yoko is 3 times more sensitive than the original Alpha (so similar to the XPC) and it's noticeable when trying to maintain precise altitude, especially when low to the ground at high speed. What are your thoughts on that?

    • @SimHangerFS
      @SimHangerFS  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mdhazeldine the Yoko is also much more expensive. The XPC resolution is much higher (x3), than the original, but the difference in sim, once your sensitivity settings are adjusted, is minimal. Note the original HC yoke is no longer in production. Grab one while you can.
