Additionally it is possible that the Pinkertons just made up a number for arthur to scare him, in my opinion if the bounty on his head alone was truly that high then it would have made much more sense for them to take him in right there.

In reality he had become addicted to the gang life, the money, and the thrill it provided. Which is why even with millions of dollars on hand, Dutch still says its not enough to go to Tahiti. The real sin is why nobody questions it.
I can't stand those "everything wrong with..." videos. They're all just word-salad, hot-takes delivered with a condescending tone. Aside from burying valid criticisms, they demonstrate the disconnect between someone who just consumes media and someone who creates. Every artistic project, especially RDR, has a brief and goal. Every decision, when made correctly, serves that goal and fulfills that brief, plain and simple. For instance, If you don't like it that the blackwater heist never gets expanded on, thats because only 10% of those details are relative to the player experience as well as the story they are trying to tell. They's an economy within storytelling, and only the important details need to be elevated to the player's attention at the end of the day.

So in Walt/Dutch’s eyes why retire on 5 million/ $7000 when you can keep the snowball going and retire on 100 million/$100000? But of course once they get to that point they’ll say that’s chump change too and want more and more until it kills them. John’s hair in epilogue is the biggest complaint I have about this game, as-well as all of the cut content related to John. If they can add the LeMat, and m1899 in story mode, then why can’t they add John Marston’s original hair with 7 lengths?!

I have been gaming since 1980, and over the years i have played countless games. RDR2 is by far the most immersive and detailed game i have ever played. Im on my 5th playthough and still keep finding new mysteries. RDR2, the game that keeps on giving.
15:10 I always took this as a cool bit of writing. Brontë is perceived as this invincible figure. He calls Saint Denis “his city” at the party he’s constantly talking down about the people there. He’s shown to have a massive ego and thinks nothing of Dutch and his gang. So I always saw his gun not working as a play on his own arrogance that he’s so full of himself and believes himself to be so invincible that he’s never had to shoot his gun and either didn’t load it or just has no idea how to use it because he has never had his life threatened before. Idk I could be completely wrong but hey so was dartigan.

Regarding the sins between John's scars versus the Blackwater heist, yes, you can have it both ways. RDR2 turns out no differently if John did or did not get his scars during the events of the game, hence the pointlessness of the scar origin. The Blackwater heist events lift massive amounts of both games' stories driving the Pinkertons to hunt Dutch and company.
@@dukemeiser19 I do agree with the Blackwater heist needing to be a mystery for the purposes of Arthur throughout the first four acts of RDR2 and thus a narratively legitimate reason for maintaining the mystery for the player. An RDR1 player already knows The Strange Man's claim and a new RDR player should have just enough information withheld to share Arthur's perspective. But Acts 5 and 6 should absolutely see Arthur getting the full story.
Seriously he sinned the immersion of the game that's the best part I love that you get to make Arthur stronger by feeding him and the horse keeping him groomed and everything this guy just sounds silly but it's a good laugh I enjoyed you cracking on him no game is completely perfect but RDR2 is pretty close I played RDR1 years ago but didn't get 2 right away I only had it for 3 years now and it's what I play the most I absolutely love this game and your channel is awesome breaking down the many layers of it keep it up.
The only things i hate about this game is the outfit system being very sloppily programed only in story mode. And activating cheats completley removing your ability to save even if you deactivate the cheat.

you definitely lost me saying there is only two rescue missions in this game, bro there is way more than two with josiah, john multiple times, rainsfall, sadie and abigail, jack, micah, uncle, the german father and many more. you just allow bias towards the game to speak rather than actually put more thought into what is being sinned. yes some of the sins are wrong but a good portion of them still stand. edit: unless it was prison specifically and I read it wrong then the counter sin might stand, still way too many main rescue missions in the game
Lmao I'm glad I found this one. I'm actually quite the fan of Ross cause he does have interesting word play but his hot takes are pretty bad a good chunk of the time. I actually exactly planned to do this with his Metal Gear series. Glad someone got Red Dead for me. XD

He was possibly just stringing the gang along with what seemed to be an almost insurmountable goal. That bank heist in Valentine alone would’ve had them set for travel. I love RDR2 but some of the plotline decisions made by Dutch and the gang wasn't all that good. for example. when agents Milton and Ross visit Dutch at Clemens Point and warns them they will bring the law and 50 armed men after the gang, Dutch orders Arthur and John to go and take over Shady Belle and make that the new camp, right next to Saint Denis and chapter 4 starts. the problem here is the distance between Clemens Point and Shady Belle isn't that big. the Pinkertons should have easily found Shady Belle in a week or whatever. also given the fact how much chaos the gang did against the two plantation families. the gang should have been easily found by the law. what I'm going for is, Shady Belle is a terrible camp location. I would have preferred if Lakay was the official camp during chapter 4. why? because Lakay is a very well hidden place, very secluded. and close to Saint Denis as well. and also extremely far away from Clemens Point and the area of Rhodes, the region in which Pinkertons would be searching extensively. also, since Dutch meets Thomas in Lagras and wants to use his boat to sneak into Bronte's house, Lakay would have made more logical sense. Lakay and Lagras are right next to eachother. how can Dutch even afford to travel from Shady Belle all the way to Lagras, spend time fishing with Thomas? the t roads should be crawling with Pinkertons. Shady Belle is a terrible camp. probably the worst. same with Beaver Hallow.

@@dukemeiser19 I do agree with the Blackwater heist needing to be a mystery for the purposes of Arthur throughout the first four acts of RDR2 and thus a narratively legitimate reason for maintaining the mystery for the player. An RDR1 player already knows The Strange Man's claim and a new RDR player should have just enough information withheld to share Arthur's perspective. But Acts 5 and 6 should absolutely see Arthur getting the full story.

Seriously he sinned the immersion of the game that's the best part I love that you get to make Arthur stronger by feeding him and the horse keeping him groomed and everything this guy just sounds silly but it's a good laugh I enjoyed you cracking on him no game is completely perfect but RDR2 is pretty close I played RDR1 years ago but didn't get 2 right away I only had it for 3 years now and it's what I play the most I absolutely love this game and your channel is awesome breaking down the many layers of it keep it up.

The only things i hate about this game is the outfit system being very sloppily programed only in story mode. And activating cheats completley removing your ability to save even if you deactivate the cheat.
I really like the "everything wrong " format of videos. I just wish most creators didn't pull non existing sins out of their bumm to make the videos longer

you definitely lost me saying there is only two rescue missions in this game, bro there is way more than two with josiah, john multiple times, rainsfall, sadie and abigail, jack, micah, uncle, the german father and many more. you just allow bias towards the game to speak rather than actually put more thought into what is being sinned. yes some of the sins are wrong but a good portion of them still stand. edit: unless it was prison specifically and I read it wrong then the counter sin might stand, still way too many main rescue missions in the game

He was possibly just stringing the gang along with what seemed to be an almost insurmountable goal. That bank heist in Valentine alone would’ve had them set for travel. I love RDR2 but some of the plotline decisions made by Dutch and the gang wasn't all that good.
for example. when agents Milton and Ross visit Dutch at Clemens Point and warns them they will bring the law and 50 armed men after the gang, Dutch orders Arthur and John to go and take over Shady Belle and make that the new camp, right next to Saint Denis and chapter 4 starts.
the problem here is the distance between Clemens Point and Shady Belle isn't that big. the Pinkertons should have easily found Shady Belle in a week or whatever. also given the fact how much chaos the gang did against the two plantation families. the gang should have been easily found by the law.
what I'm going for is, Shady Belle is a terrible camp location.
I would have preferred if Lakay was the official camp during chapter 4. why?
because Lakay is a very well hidden place, very secluded.
and close to Saint Denis as well.
and also extremely far away from Clemens Point and the area of Rhodes, the region in which Pinkertons would be searching extensively.
also, since Dutch meets Thomas in Lagras and wants to use his boat to sneak into Bronte's house, Lakay would have made more logical sense. Lakay and Lagras are right next to eachother.
how can Dutch even afford to travel from Shady Belle all the way to Lagras, spend time fishing with Thomas? the t
roads should be crawling with Pinkertons.
Shady Belle is a terrible camp. probably the worst. same with Beaver Hallow.
