Nice work, amigo. DOVE has come up with a pretty useful solution to meet a huge need. Will be paying attention as DOVE expands their product lineup. Even more impressed that the Shield RDS held up. They’ve come a long way. Of course there are other mounts that have been on the market for a long time that work similarly, but the DOVE take on this concept is new and looks to be well thought out and implemented.

Dragging it behind the truck was icing on the cake. Would loved to see you let the firing pin in cocked position (empty chamber) before doing that to see if it held or went off while dragging behind the truck. Great video.

If the metal has any coating whatsoever, loctites primer need to be used. The primer has copper in it, and helps the loctite harden. Loctite needs to use the metal's elements to harden. Just an fyi...
I live in a country where firearms are relatively expensive and the waiting period for a license can sometimes take up to a year, so seeing any type of torture test makes me incredibly sad, because we can't simply go out to a local grocery store and buy a new one for a few hundred dollars like you guys, but still I'm grateful for your thorough testing.

Took me a year to get my firearm license at a cost of abt $250 in total as well as around $600 for a Glock 17 Gen 3, so abt $900 before I was legally allowed to pickup my gun frm my local gun shop 😭. And on top of that we hav to renew our firearm licenses every 5 or 10 years depending on the reason we hav a firearm ie self defence or sport shooting or hunting.... For every firearm we want to own we hav to go thru the Licensing process again and again and again. Altho I appreciate the importance of torture testing equipment tht your life could depend on, it really hurts like hell due to our expensive and time consuming system to own guns....

I think this test may have some irrelevancy. But I’m glad you did it. I think it’s hard to say that it held zero without doing it with a reliable dot on top to make sure that plate has no wiggle in it. I also think that you should’ve measured it again with the digital caliper at the end. I know it seems like a lot of criticism but I do appreciate you for doing this experiment!
There is 100% human error when it comes into place to see if the plate moved at all. Great tip to recommend using the caliper again ... missed opportunity I guess lol I wanted this video to be ONLY about the mount, and not the sight (although, the shield sight did amazing and still held zero ... i did a second video on that sight alone, if you need a red dot, buy it.) because I didn't want people to assume I was adjusting the red dot. its so easy to just use a tool off camera and make the red dot shoot zero - thats why I didn't want to include it in this video at all. This plate is perfect if you want a sturdy plate for a red dot and don't want slide cut. I have Glock 43x shield arms gen 3 with +5 extension x2 so 20+1 on a iwb concealed is insane. holosun 507k on a dovedot adaptive is clean build. mine still holds zero no movement at all after 1500 rounds. My plate was so tight i had to go to gunsmith to have him hammer it in as i dont have highend tools i had a cheaper rubber vise that wouldnt work..thing is sturdy as hell. I would of used the short screws though. that was affected the fails. cant believe people don't like the look of it on there. i really think it looks clean and sits flush to the slide and thin plate. compared to every other one.

Hey! I have both MOS slides as well as the Dove system. I have no issues with the height whatsoever. It is such a thin plate that it doesn't even look out of place like others do. That's why I did this test!! To make sure that little piece of metal would hold up, and it did great!
On the packaging they have the option for Sig, but they don’t offer mount for Sig on there sight, instead they have the option for Taurus. I’ve been in contact with them regarding this matter, they have not respond back. I hope they will release one for Sigs pistols, specially the old version like P226, P229.
The durability of the dot and the dove are ridiculously impressive. I just wish it wasn’t still somewhat of a “controversial” option and wasn’t visible , even though it is the best lookkng dovetail mount. Will it work on a Gen 5 Glock 23? The slide is wider than other Glocks
Hello again! This mount will work on any Glock, aside from the Glock 44 I believe, because it uses a polymer slide. The only people making this mount any sort of 'Controversial' are people that would rather cut their slide. Everyone has their own opinion, even if its wrong :) Happy shooting my friend!
Wow, that was pretty impressive. I just bought a set of truglo TFX for my CZ 75 BD. I have not even put them on yet. My punch set arrives tomorrow. Now I feel like I need to upgrade to one of these. I have low vision (LHH-left homonymous hemianopsia) and it is making it difficult to acquire a fast sight picture especially in low light or darkness. This seems like a viable option for me to help keep my pistol in its original condition because I was considering sending it off to Cajun Gunworks to get milling and engraving done. Thanks! Oh, if anyone that reads this happens to know where I can find the Ramlite magnetic laser light for the same pistol I would appreciate it. I have not been able to find one and it seems the company that used to make them went out of business. I wonder if we can bring it back?
So you shoot while the front sight screw still locked loose inside the gun , no way it fall out , the reason for a stoppage ? It may move back preventing the barell locking after shooting in place.

Great torture test, an a true testament first to Glock ,try that drag and shoot with a 1911 as great as they are I doubt it would function, as for the Dove mount I was skeptical for sure and the shield I'm amazed it stayed together. The only thing I would have loved to have seen was the Shield dot to have been zeroed in the beginning and tested at the end because I never seen a torture test like this, the road dragging looked brutal to the whole assembly for accuracy. Thank you Great job and excellent shooting every shot fired would have been effective in real life self defence.
I've been on the fence about ordering from dove until now. At 62 years old I find that I just can't see iron sights like I used go. My wife has an optic and I see now that it is the way I need to go. Didn't want to cut my slide though.
Why not test the shield dot along with the dove mount? Seems like a giant waste of ammo when you could just test both at the same time. Dovetail mounts can be plenty strong but arguably the weaker point would be the optic mounted on two properly torqued screws and maybe some posts. Never mind the strength of the optic itself. These mounts arent meant to be iron sights, they are mounts for a red dot. Not testing its function as an actual optic mount is a bit short sighted. Its obvious you put a lot of time and money into this test and I appreciate that. I hope this feedback is helpful.

I've watched the first 6 minutes of this. Did I understand you correctly and that you are using the mount with the red dot on it but not making sure the red dot functions for every shot?
@ApexNick correct. This test was not a test for the red dot, although it did work perfectly after everything was done (link in description) this test was done for the Dove mount itself to see if it would move or not under extreme conditions
Jeff, I am impressed, but I am confused about what sight you actually used. It must be me, but in your introduction, you said you had an acrylic sight and then in the test description you said you had a glass sight. Shield sights are made both ways. What exact model did you use for the tests? I couldn't see the box clearly enough to see a model number on it.

Great videos Jeff! This mount is exactly what I have been looking for to put on my Glock 19 Gen 2. As soon as they come back in stock I'll be ordering one. My only question is as follows: Since the rear iron sights of the mount and the raised front sight are basically suppressor sights, for elevation, did you find that you had to put your sight picture at 6 o'clock on the target bulls eye, 12 o'clock or dead center of the bulls eye to get your round to hit in the center of the bulls eye? I think I had maybe 5, but I attribute that to the cheap mags I was using. As I said in the video, I used a 30 round mag that was aftermarket and they weren't the best things money could buy.
I use a plate and have 100s of round through it. I get a hard time from the slide cut guys but that doesn’t matter to me as the plate and red dot do the job
'The Slide Cut Guys' are all over in the gun community. Forget them... 'My guns better, my guns faster, my guns more expensive, my gun is factory, my gun my gun my gun' ... They always want to talk about theirs and think its better than yours. At the end of the day, you do what YOU like. If you want to paint your gun pink, DO IT! Avoid those types of people my man. This is a great product. If it wasn't, I wouldn't endorse it. I have had at least 15 other products come across my email asking me to review their product and give a POSITIVE light to it, which I wont do. I don't trust them. I trust this and you should too. Hope DOVE replaced that slide lol the cement footing bashing was harsh... great testing! You proved the product **edit** hope they bought you a new G19 product is solid in my eyes... sold!
It's a great product! If you ever watch me videos again with different products, just know I test them all and wouldn't put my name on it unless I trusted it. This was just one of those tests! I'll never put my voice or face on a product that I wouldn't trust with my life.
In the first day of testing, he forgot to put the tritium insert in and said so. (The front sight comes with the dove mount.) By day two, he apparently put it in. The tritium is eventually disposable and can be easily replaced if it breaks. The important part is if the sights shift or not.

It's millimeters different from a cut slide. It's not for everyone! And it does look different than a cut slide, But it is a great option for people that don't wanna cut their slide.

The Glock won't fire unless you or something else pulls the trigger! Also the striker isn't cocked if you just rack the slide.

Great videos Jeff! This mount is exactly what I have been looking for to put on my Glock 19 Gen 2. As soon as they come back in stock I'll be ordering one.
My only question is as follows: Since the rear iron sights of the mount and the raised front sight are basically suppressor sights, for elevation, did you find that you had to put your sight picture at 6 o'clock on the target bulls eye, 12 o'clock or dead center of the bulls eye to get your round to hit in the center of the bulls eye?

Great video. Out of curiosity, how many stoppages did you have? I counted 2. That would be 1 every 500 rounds.
I think I had maybe 5, but I attribute that to the cheap mags I was using. As I said in the video, I used a 30 round mag that was aftermarket and they weren't the best things money could buy.
I use a plate and have 100s of round through it. I get a hard time from the slide cut guys but that doesn’t matter to me as the plate and red dot do the job
'The Slide Cut Guys' are all over in the gun community. Forget them... 'My guns better, my guns faster, my guns more expensive, my gun is factory, my gun my gun my gun' ... They always want to talk about theirs and think its better than yours. At the end of the day, you do what YOU like. If you want to paint your gun pink, DO IT! Avoid those types of people my man. This is a great product. If it wasn't, I wouldn't endorse it. I have had at least 15 other products come across my email asking me to review their product and give a POSITIVE light to it, which I wont do. I don't trust them. I trust this and you should too. Happy shooting my friend, and forget the haters!

Can any red dot be mounted to this, I know some have different footprints? I have the Sig p320.
This follows the Shield Sight footprint. Such as the Holosun 507K. Vortex, for example, will not fit.

It will fit on any glock! As long as it isn't a polymer slide!

It's a great product! If you ever watch me videos again with different products, just know I test them all and wouldn't put my name on it unless I trusted it. This was just one of those tests! I'll never put my voice or face on a product that I wouldn't trust with my life.

Different how? Compared to what?
In the first day of testing, he forgot to put the tritium insert in and said so. (The front sight comes with the dove mount.) By day two, he apparently put it in. The tritium is eventually disposable and can be easily replaced if it breaks. The important part is if the sights shift or not.

It's millimeters different from a cut slide. It's not for everyone! And it does look different than a cut slide, But it is a great option for people that don't wanna cut their slide.
