I unconsciously have avoided listening to this song and We will be Heroes since I was a kid because I felt I would get too emotional in a way. And I was right. Those movies and songs gave me so much hope back then. I can't explain it but it's like I'm back then, listening to this for the first time.
Out of all the Diamond and Pearl theme songs, I think this one is my favorite. It just has such a strong, tenacious feel to it by keeping the team of heroes together, hold a strong friendship, and do what they believe is the right thing to defend the world. It just has so much encouragement, energy, freindship, and tenacity from within its strong lyrics. I just.......I just love it. 100% agree, this is top 3. The OG song is untouchable for nostalgic reasons, of course, but this is just as great musically. And third for me is Johto Journeys song (first Johto season). Diamond and Pearl 1st season theme song is great as well, love the rock/rap style of it, its unique. Honourable mention to Orange Islands, its just so unique lol, always brings a smile to my face :)
Pokémon Platinum was my first Pokémon game and when I was younger I used to get up and watch this and the entirety of the sinnoh arc on tv. Gen 4 was amazing and will always be my favorite. D/P/PT & HG/SS are amazing and always will be, I have such fond memories of Sinnoh. I don’t know how someone could really hate Gen 4. I could get disliking it but I guess it’s just special to me because of my memories. I hope we get a Sinnoh remake someday just for the sake of getting to re-live nostalgia. FireRed was my first Pokemon game, got it Christmas of 2007, but Diamond was my second, which we got like two days later. Platinum is my favorite Pokemon game and favorite game probably ever, to be honest. I would always wake up on Saturdays to watch the anime as well and I had tons of cards. I was obsessed. I've probably replayed Platinum... maybe over a hundred times at this point. Might be overexaggerating that number, but the sheer amount of times I've played through the game, be it romhack, randomized, or just plain vanilla is more than I can count. Gen 4 had so much life put into it and everything about them was just PEAK Pokemon. I really hope that Sinnoh remakes happen, but I want them to be *good* remakes. Sword and Shield's disaster worries me and I don't know how well Game Freak is going to pull off Sinnoh remakes.
Pokemon Pearl and Platinum were my first games and the Sinnoh arch was my first series. They will always be the best games and the best series ever. I was 5 when I first got into Pokemon. I think I remember one of the Hoenn openings, the one where the group are on a hill. That's what started my love for the show but it wasn't until the Sinnoh arch etc that I actually got into the show. That was 12 years ago and I am now 17... I still have my Platinum game. I lost the Pearl one. I also have Heart Gold.

I have actually been writing something for Pokemon Special Manga that includes zombie mutants of pokemon. Here is one of the mutants you may encounter. The Gulpers (Water) - Warped Pokémon that have water as their primary typing eventually mutate into Gulpers. Due to the bacteria amplifying the Pokémon’s water powers, it causes the cells in its body to swell turning its body gelatinous. They mainly live in or near bodies of water, in the sewers, and even in areas that have become flooded. They can’t stray too far from the water otherwise their moist bodies will dry up; however when it rains they are known to go farther inland. In order to protect themselves they cover their bodies in a thick slime that not only helps them move very easily in the water and on land but it also protects it from physical attacks. Because of the slime any attempt to melee or grapple these creatures is pointless because any punch just slips by. It also doesn’t help that they can spray slime at an attacker making is so slippery that they can’t even stand up without slipping; also any weapons or pokeballs you have will become impossible to grab onto. Since their bodies are mostly water and have very flimsy skeletons, they have a relatively weak bite force so they tend to swallow their food whole hence the name “Gulpers”. They have large gaping mouths and expandable stomachs that allow them to eat large prey as well as tiny hook-like teeth that prevent prey from escaping their mouths. One method of dealing with their slime is to throw sodium polyacrylate over the slime; sodium polyacrylate is super absorbent can absorb 100-1000 times its mass in water. This can be used to get rid of the slime and if you find yourself swallowed by these guys; just pour this out into their stomachs and watch as the water is drawn out of their bodies and die from dehydration. Another good method is to wrap your hands with cloth so that you can hold onto to you weapons better. Finally if you have access to them, try using potassium core bullets. Since potassium reacts violently with water it will explode once it enters their wet bodies, giving maximum damage; however be careful storing them as they can explode on you too.

Hello. I'm 16 today. I am currently watching galactic battles. I've decided that i will watch whole pokemon series. Theme songs of battle dimension and galactic battles are the best I've ever heard.
I grew up with galactic battles and diamond and pearl in general and now that I'm almost 17 i find myself constantly coming back to listen to the theme song or rewatching whole episodes just acting like I'm a young kid again to make my inner child happy in a way?
I had Jewel of life recorded on my DVR for a year just so that I could hear this theme in the opening over and over. Hilariously every time I see watermelons these 15 years later I still hear it in the back of my mind.

I just finished watching DP for the first time. It will 100% be in my heart forever. I love Infernape, Buizel, and all of Ash's Pokemon. I love the hell out of Dawn and Brock, and their pokemon too. I love the characters, the arcs, the battles. It is truly a Pokemon masterpiece. The weird thing is, the series was very nostalgic. Diamond was my first Pokemon game, but I never watched the anime at the time. The game has such great memories and nostalgia attached to it, as well as the Sinnoh region itself. Unless TPC dishes out some hella good seasons, this series will always be my favorite.

As one who started on the Sinnoh saga and heard this as their first opening I can honestly say that it is still one of my favourites. The song itself fills me with nostalgia and the verses of: “Because your friends are there for you. Reaching out to pull you through” really hits hard as it’s true. One’s friends are usually there for them. Thank you Pokémon for teaching me these lessons.
I am a truly fan of both, I'll always preffer Pokémon, but it's weird to put them in battle, both are different to each other, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! Japanese Openings are excelent too.
This is without a doubt the best opening song that pokemon has ever or will ever have. I could listen to it until I get a headache and I wouldn't be sorry. It's also more evidence that Diamond and Pearl was when the pokemon anime was at its peak.
Why is this so good? Seriously, the diamond and pearl series is the last one (before Journeys) that I started watching, and still this is my favorite Pokemon opening theme! Its lyrics remind you that not all is bad in the worldand that you can get back up and dust yourself off again, because your friends are there for you, reaching out to pull you through (that was a corny reference to the lyrics, and I don't care). It's hard to believe that this is just the theme song to a 2000s kid show, but I'm so glad it was.

I have actually been writing something for Pokemon Special Manga that includes zombie mutants of pokemon. Here is one of the mutants you may encounter.
The Gulpers (Water) - Warped Pokémon that have water as their primary typing eventually mutate into Gulpers. Due to the bacteria amplifying the Pokémon’s water powers, it causes the cells in its body to swell turning its body gelatinous. They mainly live in or near bodies of water, in the sewers, and even in areas that have become flooded. They can’t stray too far from the water otherwise their moist bodies will dry up; however when it rains they are known to go farther inland. In order to protect themselves they cover their bodies in a thick slime that not only helps them move very easily in the water and on land but it also protects it from physical attacks. Because of the slime any attempt to melee or grapple these creatures is pointless because any punch just slips by. It also doesn’t help that they can spray slime at an attacker making is so slippery that they can’t even stand up without slipping; also any weapons or pokeballs you have will become impossible to grab onto. Since their bodies are mostly water and have very flimsy skeletons, they have a relatively weak bite force so they tend to swallow their food whole hence the name “Gulpers”. They have large gaping mouths and expandable stomachs that allow them to eat large prey as well as tiny hook-like teeth that prevent prey from escaping their mouths. One method of dealing with their slime is to throw sodium polyacrylate over the slime; sodium polyacrylate is super absorbent can absorb 100-1000 times its mass in water. This can be used to get rid of the slime and if you find yourself swallowed by these guys; just pour this out into their stomachs and watch as the water is drawn out of their bodies and die from dehydration. Another good method is to wrap your hands with cloth so that you can hold onto to you weapons better. Finally if you have access to them, try using potassium core bullets. Since potassium reacts violently with water it will explode once it enters their wet bodies, giving maximum damage; however be careful storing them as they can explode on you too.

I had Jewel of life recorded on my DVR for a year just so that I could hear this theme in the opening over and over. Hilariously every time I see watermelons these 15 years later I still hear it in the back of my mind.

I just finished watching DP for the first time. It will 100% be in my heart forever. I love Infernape, Buizel, and all of Ash's Pokemon. I love the hell out of Dawn and Brock, and their pokemon too. I love the characters, the arcs, the battles. It is truly a Pokemon masterpiece. The weird thing is, the series was very nostalgic. Diamond was my first Pokemon game, but I never watched the anime at the time. The game has such great memories and nostalgia attached to it, as well as the Sinnoh region itself. Unless TPC dishes out some hella good seasons, this series will always be my favorite.

Such nostalgia! This was the first series I watched since I became a fan of Pokémon. It was one of my favourite songs I had ever listened to, and still is.
As one who started on the Sinnoh saga and heard this as their first opening I can honestly say that it is still one of my favourites. The song itself fills me with nostalgia and the verses of: “Because your friends are there for you. Reaching out to pull you through” really hits hard as it’s true. One’s friends are usually there for them.
Thank you Pokémon for teaching me these lessons.

This is without a doubt the best opening song that pokemon has ever or will ever have. I could listen to it until I get a headache and I wouldn't be sorry. It's also more evidence that Diamond and Pearl was when the pokemon anime was at its peak.
Why is this so good? Seriously, the diamond and pearl series is the last one (before Journeys) that I started watching, and still this is my favorite Pokemon opening theme! Its lyrics remind you that not all is bad in the worldand that you can get back up and dust yourself off again, because your friends are there for you, reaching out to pull you through (that was a corny reference to the lyrics, and I don't care). It's hard to believe that this is just the theme song to a 2000s kid show, but I'm so glad it was.

This is the best theme song after Advanced Battle ended. I never grew up with this due to a lack of cable.
