I am slightly tired of hearing people say how "make or break" Legacy is but, as always, great take here Boba! Like David Ayer has said before - James Gunn has the hardest job in Hollywood right now. What i really need DC Studios to do is find a new marketing method. Many recent films/series have had awful marketing and it seems like the industry hasn't adjusted to the new way people consume media.
This new Superman needs to be for this generation what the Reeve one was for their generation. No fancy plots, no overcomplicated dilemmas, no "end of the world" sense of urgency. Just the good old scout boy. A all family light warm "happy" movie for this dark times. We need that S symbol more than ever.
This is not an origin movie. This is basically year 1 of Superman, where he's just started working for the Daily PLanet and hasn't done a lot of his major feats because the world already has a bunch of Superheroes in it.@@RyanG0899
I think there’s some things people need to realize here. By the time Superman Legacy comes out, the DCU will have already released potentially two series and have several more in active development with writers, directors, AND actors. Heck, we might be watching a trailer for the Lanterns and Booster Gold by the time we’re sitting in theaters to watch Superman Legacy. Unlike the DCEU, the DCU is ran by people who aren’t gonna make a complete 180 whenever a single movie isn’t a hit. They have faith in this mission, which is important!! You’re the DCU! You have the rights to some of the most popular and enriching characters in fiction! You should believe that you can obtain just as much if not more success than the MCU!! This isn’t to say that Superman Legacy does NOT have an important role in all this. It would be incredibly embarrassing and disheartening if the next SUPERMAN movie is an absolute flop. But at the same time, Do you guys REALLY think that’s gonna happen? I mean, seriously. I understand that DC movies aren’t in the best state and that recasting can leave a bitter taste in peoples mouths, but look at THE BATMAN. A film that not only recasted a praised actor, but introduced an entire new universe in the process! And it was a HIT! Because the acting was amazing, the cinematography was jaw dropping, and the story was great. Superman Legacy is doing darn near the exact same thing! Grabbing new actors, all of which are amazing. Setting up a new atmosphere, one that in James Gunn’s words would be more fantastical like. And with Gunn’s track record of films? Is likely to have a great story! Sure there will be people who dislike it- as some people dislike anything- but to even entertain the idea that this movie won’t be any good? Is kinda silly! Now to Boba’s point? The DCU will CERTAINLY need much better marketing after Aquaman 2. A handful of castings and tweets simply won’t do the job. I say the Superman Legacy team should attempt at a similar marketing approach as The Batman’s. Which consists of: 1. Interviews: People need to… TALK about this movie. Of course this may be difficult undergoing the writers and actors strike, but afterwards? We need details. And not just from Gunn who has been doing a terrific job explaining who his Superman is. Doesn’t anyone else find it somewhat odd how David Corenswet said absolutely nothing after being announced as Superman- his supposed dream role? This isn’t to say that he’s not passionate about the role. Images of his very noticeable growth in muscle and physique shows he’s taking this seriously. But we need to hear his VOICE- his thoughts! Let us know how excited he is to be playing this character and what he wishes to bring to Superman as an addition to all his previous actors. We need to fall in LOVE with David Corenswet. He is going to be the Superman of a new generation! With The Batman promotion, Robert Pattinson was never shy on expressing his interest towards playing Batman and how he perceives his particular Batman. This was all important in helping us connect with this character and take before we even saw a glimpse of it! 2. Suit Reveal: Let’s be honest. Superman’s suit is something we’re all gonna have our eyes on- especially with David Corenswet inside of it! We don’t necessarily need a giant showcase of it during a Comics Con presentation (though I certainly wouldn’t be against it!), but perhaps we should see this suit revealed in a more cinematic light with all the intended atmosphere and camera work to help us truly get a vibe of not only this new suit but the character and his world! Of course there are others such as trailers and potential partnerships with other companies to help give attention to this project, but I mainly wanted to focus on those two.
Also one of the best thing that dcu is gonna do is that they arent gonna change or rewrite things weeks before the movie release, something that the mcu always do, and we clearly see the effect of lack of quality from it
@@costa2794 I want to touch on this, because you’re absolutely right. Kevin Fiege approaches films as a producer, and it shows. The cast always says that they change the script literally every day, and make last minute decisions mere weeks before release. This results in a plethora of deleted scenes, cheap CGI, warped storytelling, and overall messy films. Even Victoria Alonso, the woman who worked right under Kevin before being fired, spoke out saying: “We’re the ones who make these films.” Meanwhile, look at the DCU. There is something inherently special about the leader of this initiative being James Gunn; a writer and a director. He is someone who completely understands the process of storytelling from multiple perspectives. Because of that, you can assume he’s gonna approach this list of films and tv shows with the utmost respect and creative freedom towards writers and directors. He’s not gonna force them to work under a strict and limited time gap. This is great! As it means that each and every project released from this studio, whether it’s our favorite or not, will be made out of actual creative drive, passion, and love.
I would guess that David Corenswet said nothing after the casting announcement because it was immediately before the actors strike, which would prevent him promoting anything, assuming he’s a member of that union.
James gunn becoming the head of dc us honestly one of my favorite things to ever happen, since James' directorial debut in 2008 he has done nothing but churn out banger after banger after BANGER, i have no doubt in my mind that gunn will make people respect dc again
I truly hope Gunn’s DCU continues beyond just the 10 Year Plan that Zazlav has planned (given that the films are successful of course). I’d like to see Gunn’s DCU go beyond just Chapters 1 and 2 (it’d be interesting to see what he’d do for Chapter 3, 4 and so on), which I’m assuming will be the first 10 years of this universe as part of the Plan. And I’d definitely love to see a Justice League movie with the new characters/cast members at some point and for the DCU to grow beyond that into the future. Lastly, seeing Darkseid, a proper adaptation of him, in the DCU would be epic. I know Gunn prefers the more obscure characters (like The Centre being the big bad for instance), but I hope he includes the popular/main characters as well.
I don't think the Centre will be the big villain for the first chapter. I could see him doing something like the white martians more specific the hyper clan
I love the new improvement for DCU! I was really excited on James Gunn's "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" video. These CBM announcements got me back into Comic Stores! And pushing me over the edge into writing my stories.
This is probably the 3rd most important suoerhero movie, thr first is superman 78 which need to prove you can make superheros on the big screen and have it be good, and iron man saving marvel and starting the mcu
I hope they save some money during production by keeping it simple and clean while leaning more on a good story instead of cheap CGI spectacle. I think they could, later on, pay for a REALLY good marketing strategy to build interest like WB did with Barbie.
I think James Gunn will use as many practical and on camera FX as he can. One reason visual FX teams like working with Gunn is that he uses a lot of practical effects but when he needs CGI he is very clear in what he wants so they don't have to try and guess which makes their job so much easier
I just hope they pull great action sequence, since i think one of the problems that superman return got for making only 4p0 milion at the box office was the total abscence of action fight scene, something that mos pull and made more then 600 milion even when it wasnt a good superman movie
I'm not worried about this at all, Gunn's proven time and again he knows what he's doing with these comic book movies. I'm sure it'll be good if not amazing and dc will finally be on the right track.
I think that for Superman to do good it really needs to stand out as something different from other super hero movies. When the mcu started it really stood out because they were creating a shared universe and just the overall quality of the movies was getting better. But I think now that the shared universes are a regular thing and super hero movies are a regular thing, they dont stand out any more because a few are released every year for the last decade, so for Superman to do good it doesnt need to just stand out from other movies, it needs to stand out as something different from other super hero movies. Its getting to the point where comic book movies are "if you have seen one you have seen them all", Superman needs to break that mold

According to Variety today, all of the Justice League actors will be recast in the new DCU! This means Mamoa, Gadot, and Miller won’t be kept in their current roles. I’m honestly so happy about this! I loved a lot of the DCEU’s actors, they’re in some of my favorite comic book films of all time. But since this is a brand new direction and a NEW DCU with new actors playing major characters (Ex: Corenswet’s Superman), then ALL of the major characters should also be played by new actors. Smaller and/or recent characters like Jaime Reyes, Waller, and Peacemaker make enough sense to keep, so I’m actually alright with them staying, but it would’ve personally bothered me a lot to see half of the JL (Gadot, Miller and Mamoa) being played by old DCEU actors alongside the new faces. Mamoa being Lobo can finally happen now! Not only would it be a perfect fit for him, it’ll be a more ethical way to keep him around as an audience draw without it feeling weird. Gadot could also stick around and help produce the new WW related projects if they want, which would actually be super cool! This reassures me so much and I’m even more excited to see the DCU come to fruition!
I hope that's true because most of the league members were miscast. It just doesn't make sense to recast only half. Just recast the whole team. And this time build towards a justice league film, don't rush into one with barely anytime to establish each member. That's what lost my interest
@MysticFusion7 They absolutely were not miscast. Gal was perfect as was Affleck and Momoa too. They all fit perfectly with the Rebirth version of their characters. Clearly you don't read comics. And not every character needs an introduction.
I'm happy the authority is the second film in the line up bc if legacy flops there's still a chance it gets made and it's my most anticipated movie of the upcoming verse. The franchise starting with 2 shows gives legacy a cushion and bit of a headstart if they gain goodwill from the audience
I think Brave and the Bold should barrow heavily from the animated movie Son of Batman from 2014. Bruce showing love to Damien, focusing on teaching his son right vs wrong, justice as apposed to the programing drilled into Damien by the League of Assassins. Its a fight to help shape the mind and heart of Damien. Plus the humor was pretty good with Damien 'accidently' interfering with Bruce's social life. This wouldn't be the whole movie but a good starting point/template
I haven't started Superman & Lois and thought about giving it a watch. Would anyone recommend the series on how it is, this is also coming from someone that liked Titans even with some of the flaws I have with the series.
I loved it. Tyler Hoheclin did a phenomenal job. It's a different look at supermans feelings and his life as Both a superhero and a dad/husband. There's some real emotion that made me have a renewed respect for the boy in blue Titans is gritty, raw and puts a new spin on some older stories. The CGI isn't great but over all the characters have more to offer.
If Legacy looks good in trailers and screenshots and is good, the movie will do well. The Batman did great for a first outing despite DC having a bad film reputation, as long as you show that the new Superman shows to the casual audience that it's not connected to the DCEU which they already are by recasting most of the cast. It's not rocket science.
I believe that James Gunn can do the impossible to make people like Superman Legacy but there will always be fans complaining i just hope Superman Legacy is an entertaining movie and correctly introduces the new DCU to new fans
He will ruin the movie with his edgy and toilet humor. He literally has it in every film of his. And the fact he added Guy Gardner - who is a very edgy and toilet humor character, only confirms it.
Superman is the first essential project imo as well. Creature Commandos could be great and not many viewers just because they’re not a popular property on top of the current perception of DC movies. Superman should sell tickets alone based on the character same way characters like Batman and Spider-Man did as he’s one of the most popular characters in all of media/ pop culture. If this movie is a hit it will definitely have people coming back to check out what’s new with DC.
i honestly wanted a hard reboot with the DCU and we're not essentially getting that with a few characters from gunn's part of the DCEU being brought in but really as long as the main and biggest characters in this new DCU are being recast with new actors/actresses, i'm okay with it as will the vast majority of the general audience probably won't care that 3rd tier DC characters like blue beatle, peacemaker, waller, and a few others are staying onboard with their previous actors and previous DCEU superman, batman, wonder woman in particular will be the center of this new movie universe in the DCU hopefully and it's looking like all 3 will be played by new people which is the most important part of reestablishing this new universe as for superman legacy and the hype ... i believe at 2024 comic con, gunn along with other DC execs will have a panel there to show us or announce something to the fans about the movie and we're likely to get a slew of casting announcements even before that for future DCU films and TV series ... i'd also guess we'll get some kind of teaser from superman legacy a year from now or by the end of 2024 this current DCU slate is pretty great and i'm hyped for it ... i mean they already announced superman, batman, green lanterns, and we're likely getting a wonder woman movie after paradise lost ... that's 4 of the biggest DC heroes and 4 key members of a potential justice league team and we're not even sure if hawkgirl who has already been cast and will appear in superman legacy will be part of the first justice league lineup either ... never mind a supergirl movie also ... and that's just half of the chapter 1 slate announced by janes gunn so i'm sure we're going to get a flash and aquaman movie announcement too soon not to mention there a report just today that momoa is in talks to play lobo although that was pretty locked into the minds ever since he released that video of him being extremely happy about a new project months ago and we'll also get a solo movie with him in the near future too
James Gunn's biggest strength is making us truly care about the characters no matter how strange or obscure they are. Gotg 3 and Peacemaker are great examples. That, is why I'm excited for this movie.
Great video! Piggybacking off of this idea, what do you think is the urgency for the Authority to do well? I think back to the first Guardians movie and by that time, the MCU was already well-established. If Guardians hadn’t been a hit, it wouldn’t be as big of a deal as it would have if it had come earlier. Since the Authority is going to be the second movie after Superman: Legacy, does it have additional pressure that Guardians didn’t? I think you are right in that Legacy is probably going to have, at the very least, a fair amount of success, because it is Superman and because it is James Gunn. But the Authority isn’t widely known, even among comic book fans. In order to sell this new, different DCU, does the Authority have additional pressure to sell the very *idea* of audiences taking chances on unfamiliar characters in the DCU going forward? What do you think the chances are that James Gunn will also direct the Authority? Will he write it? It would be a quick turnaround after Superman: Legacy and the other projects he is writing, but will he feel the need to inject his particular brand of messed up humor and catchy dialog to really get audiences on board? The Authority is so important to me - I’ve loved it since it came out and I never thought it would become a movie. It has a very particular brand of humor and political commentary that was specific to the time it came out that I think you would have to translate a bit now to our current time, but it still could work really well. Still, not an easy task I think, and one that will take some finesse.
James Gunn will do great things for DCU...he had a great start with Blue Beatle...if we come at these films and series with no expectations, we will be pleasantly surprised!
We are finally get the second half of the doom patrol season almost a year later lol i hope its decent i forgot everything that happened in the first half thanks boba
I think the should have done Sup as Second or 3rd.. maybe build some universe and hype first. Unless JG thought it was best to use Superman to build the foundation
On one hand I agree but on the other, I don’t think anyone beside the Trinity would be a good choice because they at least have the most marketing power
Well, since gunn confirmed that the dcu will have superman and batman basically as the main centre of the dcu, its a pretty good idea to start with superman
My prediction based on James Gunns Track record Budget will be about 150 million movie will make low mark 600 million high mark 720 million 300 million break even 350 million actual profit
I dubt he will be able to pull a superman movie around 150 milion, he could pull it at 195-210 milion, and considering that tbe movie is about a char ver very famous instead a b-d tier char, there could be much more interested by the comics fans and general public, but its all about the word of mouth, which i really think it will helps a lot the movie (gotg 3 had a really good boost thx to tbe word of mouth, same thing could happened with superman legacy if people are still dubting after watching the trailers)
How much money do u think it needs to be considered a success. Cause with the way the general audience is to Dc right now, personally I don’t think it will make a billion even if critically speaking it a 10/10 movie. Honestly ide say if this movie can make anywhere between 750-800 mill and it’s a critical success than I’d say dc is in good hands
@@user-fm3xr9yz3i Marvel, DC both are comic book properties there is no difference between the two. The only difference is the over obsessed fan base that thinks there is one. They both have dark characters and they both have hope inspiring characters. If a person knows how to write and tell a good story they can write for a comic book movie
@@TheHallofSuperheroes I simply put: Marvel isnt DC. From that you derived a whole essay of assumptions that you know my perspective on DC and question my credentials as a DC Fan. Interesting 🤔.
Legacy needs to have a similar box office as the Reeves the Batman. I remember the negative reactions towards Robert Pattinson and the Snyder bros wanting Ben’s solo. Legacy needs similar acclaim as The Batman. It’s certainly possible.
Honestly for me, I definitely do not believe in dead on arrival. But I am intending to watch Creature Commandos to see how it is. I want to know if James Gunn really means what he said. I was so so on The Suicide Squad but Peacemaker did show me he learned not to undermine serious or emotional moments with Jokes, at least he did less so. So if he can show me again I will have high hopes for Legacy. If not….ehh…not so much.
superman legacy is probably not going to make a billion dollars with all the people who want the snyderverse back it might realistically make 700 million or 600 million. it will probably take a few projects to get the main audience to get on board generally. idk .
The main issue is that this isn't Superman. This is Superman & Justice League (James Gunn: I have more Characters to put in Superman Legacy. Meaning we have not seen all the Characters he wants to put in His first Movie) So calling it a Superman Film may as well not even be the case because it isn't one. Besides We are not counting on James Gunn F things up but WB itself messing things up. 2 Fails and here comes WB to mess thing up worst instead of holding on and hoping thing will get fix.
I don't see what that has to do with this video though? This is a conversation about the pressure Superman Legacy has in making a good impression on audiences for the DCU, not discussing specifically casting.
I think the DCU is making the same mistake the DCEU made. It IS jumping the shark and attempting to walk before it can crawl. With the world already being full of superheroes and supervillains, it feels even more rushed that the DCEU felt.
The real issue with this new reboot, soft reboot, or whatever else the hell they’re calling it, is that it’s still not a Superman movie. This clearly is An adventure of Superman. This is some reimagining of the DC universe with white characters now black, with women not being women, with a complete reinventing visioning of the world that is. These people are not giving the viewers/fans what they want. For over 20 years now every time we heard of a Superman movie all we want is an adventure of Superman. Just like Superman the movie in 1978. it’s not a “story for this generation”. It should be the Superman story done with modern sophistication that is present in this generation that wasn’t present 1938. That was the season of Superman the movie. They changed nothing that would not have been axiomatically changed just by being 40 years later.
Just want to say “thanks Capt Obvious” lol. They better get Tom Cruise to play lex or something? This movie will make or break future of Superheroes. Although Creature Commandos is a nice warm up.
🚨Superman Legacy will work in 2025. 🚨If the Superman Legacy movie was releasing 2024, WBD and I would be concerned about its box office. 🚨 Us DC Fans need time to grieve. For me, ZSJL is the best DCEU Film and one of the top 5 Comic Book Movies ever made. DC Fans need time to vent to be able to except the change. It has to a good script and good acting, Superman Legacy will make at least $600 Million in 2025. ♦️($600 Million is all it needs to be Successful.) 🚨 I don’t agree with WBD decision; however, as a business owner and professional, I understand most of the decision made by WBD and James Gunn. 1. The past and upcoming DCEU films did not hit the $600+ Million bench mark. 2. Black Adam and Flash were there trump cards and the failed to hit the bench mark, earning only $395 million or less. 3. To produce a good movie you need money, some expenses has to be cut. - Actor Salaries: Trust me Cornsweat isn’t making even of 1/3 of what Cavill would be paid as Superman. (Cavill is worth the money; but, the Price for Cavill will not fit the current budget for the this movie; and neither would Affleck or Gal). It pains me but recasting the Trinity, just saved the Studio, $120 Million Dollars or more. Example: For BvS Affleck was paid $43 Million Dollars. Affleck is worth more now. Cavill and Gal are now worth close to or as much as Affleck. New Actors will be offered $500 thousand - 5 Million (Cornsweat and Brosnahan might earn, probably not, $7 up to $10 million as the leads) and Yes it also gives new Actor an opportunity. I understand the business; but we DC Fans need a year to exhale, grieve and heal. After Aquaman, I believe us Fans will need at least a year break; giving most fans who are upset, discourage and disappointed, time to heal. For the General Audience, the year and a half break also kick in the out of sight out of mind factor; the General Audience will see the DCU Superman as something new and Fresh. The General Audience as long as the movie is good, will flock to see Superman Legacy. ♦️ (If the Movie is epic, it will make $800 Million to a Billion Dollars). ⭐️ Again if the movie is just a good movie; yes, Gunn can make a good movies, then the DCU will expand. Legacy will $600 + Million to become a Successful DCU Movie. I believe it will. Again I miss Cavill; but, Cavill has moved on. I miss Gal and Affleck, but future in the industry is promised to make them more money and success. Cornsweat has big shoes to fill; Gunn confirmed Superman Legacy will not be like a marvel movie. Now We wait! But I believe it will make at least, $600 plus million dollars; that is all it need to be a success.
Legacy will be fine. I expect James Gunn to take off right where Smallville left off and before the events of Man of Steel to start. So he'd just becoming out into the light making saves around the world. He'd be getting into journalism right before a villain like Lobo shows up makes the world awaken to an extended universe and the fact were not alone.
I´m honestly sick and tired of origin stories, specially for Superman and Batman. They are two of the most iconic superheroes ever to be created, everyone knows their origins, we don´t need another origin story for them, not even a flashback like in the Snyderverse did for Batman. Start off with an established universe and build the heroes from there.
Launching with Superman is a mistake. There is little interest in Superman among the GA. Add in the decreased interest in superhero films and SL is set up to fail - as industry analysts from Campea to the NY Post and more are expecting. Batman should launch the DCU. Build up goodwill for the DCU first and the best way to do that is with Batman. If new reports that Universal will buy WB in the next two years come to fruition it is possible SL may get delayed. A good thing. A new owner will evaluate the value of each IP. Batman stands at 29.6 billion while Superman is at 6.9 billion. In financial terms it is reckless to launch with a Superman film. More and more people are questioning this strategy. That Gunn does not see this is perplexing. It may well cost him his job and end the DCU before it has even started.
Giving fans a break from dc would only help dc if marvel wasn’t around. People who are casual really don’t see a difference. They’re all just superhero movies to my dad…
Just throwing a question out there, but any chance Shaq will come back as Steel? If Keanu Reeves has a chance at returning to the role of John Constantine, then we shouldn’t rule out that Shaq does also?
if james gunn got guardians of the galaxy to get 750 million every volume i think he can easily get a billion for superman. this is the most famous super hero written by one of the most consistent super hero director. even if the snyder cultists boycott it (they are much smaller in size than they think they are) it will be a hit.
Dont know man, the problem is the prostepticve that the general public have to dc, i really hope that superman legacy get a really good word of mouth, so it can reach 800-900 milion at the box office, but for a billion at the box office its a a hard challenge, but yet its not impossibile
I'm worried that given the general comedic tone of Peacemaker and the Guardians movies, that Gunn will make Superman into a complete joke, Starlord with Superpowers. I'm worried that because Snyder took Superman too seriously. Gunn wont take the character seriously at all. I'm all for the movie being tonally on the lighter side but I don't want a comedy with tons of pop culture references and 1970s music. I want Superman, and his mythology to be treated with proper reverence and respect, and for the character himself to act like an adult.
@@brian5771 No. But the general tone of the entire guardians franchise was a comedy. I'm for humor in a superman movie, but unless this movie is a complete 180 of his usual filmmaking and writing style. I'm worried they'll make Superman a complete joke. Yeah High Evolutionary was scary. But they still took a huge detour from the story to make jokes about walrus men dealing meth.
Thats your opinion but plenty of others including myself thinks he was the greatest alongside Reeves. However yes it would be nice for a elsewords story on max.

I’m concerned he’s going to try to make the movie overly goofy and silly. I like what Snyder was trying to do with the character by showing Superman developing, growing, and struggling as person and superhero
I don’t think you should scared of that. James Gunn said that they will have different tones for the movies to fit the stories. Also, James Mangold who is directing Swamp Thing, already said that the movie is going horror and gothic.
@@unknown-iy2we Interesting opinion, i often said the same when people disrespected the Snyderverse with MCU expectations. Of course the 'red v blue' needs to stop now that a MARVEL director is in charge of DC. I will never pay a penny for a DC product with Gunns name attached.
Gunn has a poor track record as far as box office success but I think legacy will be one of his best performing. Less than the guardians but way more than anything else he's done

Yea I hate the negativity surrounding it considering everyone’s been happy with his movies in the past
@@firstlast9846most of these negative people are snyder fans
This new Superman needs to be for this generation what the Reeve one was for their generation. No fancy plots, no overcomplicated dilemmas, no "end of the world" sense of urgency. Just the good old scout boy. A all family light warm "happy" movie for this dark times. We need that S symbol more than ever.
So essentially a Superman movie that sounds boring
Right I think he forgot the problem the old movies had… BORING AF!!!
And the actor is so handsome. I need that S.
SO TRUE
@deltaproductions313 No, it needs to be iconic
Make Superman Fly Again
Imagine a main plot point of the movie is Clark only being able to leap around until he learns to fly towards the end. That would be very different.
This is not an origin movie. This is basically year 1 of Superman, where he's just started working for the Daily PLanet and hasn't done a lot of his major feats because the world already has a bunch of Superheroes in it.@@RyanG0899
Yeah.
But at the same time,
Do you guys REALLY think that’s gonna happen?
Which consists of:
Awesome ideas here. I 100% agree
Even Victoria Alonso, the woman who worked right under Kevin before being fired, spoke out saying:
“We’re the ones who make these films.”
Meanwhile, look at the DCU.
David coreswet did a great job in a show called Hollywood. I'm hoping he can pull this off too. 🙏🏽
I love the new improvement for DCU! I was really excited on James Gunn's "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" video. These CBM announcements got me back into Comic Stores! And pushing me over the edge into writing my stories.
Babe wake up, Bobatalks just uploaded
This is probably the 3rd most important suoerhero movie, thr first is superman 78 which need to prove you can make superheros on the big screen and have it be good, and iron man saving marvel and starting the mcu
Looking forward to this run of Superman. Great vid Boba❤
Superman Legacy definitely has to be a hit!
I'd say it definitely will with Gunn
The key is to make good movies on a reasonable budget.
I'm not worried about this at all, Gunn's proven time and again he knows what he's doing with these comic book movies. I'm sure it'll be good if not amazing and dc will finally be on the right track.
I’ll watch the Superman I don’t really get the hate for James Gunn. He does what he does and his movies arnt that bad
The hate from Gunn is coming from one group of people - and nobody cares what they think cos they think BvS is a masterpiece.
His movies aren’t bad at all
I wonder if his historical tweets, parties and friends have anything to do with it.
@@user-fm3xr9yz3iFrom a decade ago and he’s already publicly apologized for it and hasn’t made tweets like that in over a decade
Those claiming DOA DCU have no idea how lucky they are Gunn even agreed to do it.

When are you gonna make your DCU fancast video? Long have I waited 😅
Aquaman 2 is DCU.
@MysticFusion7 They absolutely were not miscast.
Gal was perfect as was Affleck and Momoa too. They all fit perfectly with the Rebirth version of their characters.
Clearly you don't read comics.
And not every character needs an introduction.
It isn't though. It's the last film in the DCEU until the reboot happens in 2025. Superman is the first DCU film to come from James Gunn's slate
@@MysticFusion7 No it's not.
Everything AFTER the Flash is DCU.
Just seen your subscriber count.... didn't realise how massively the channel has grown in recent times! 👍👏
I haven't started Superman & Lois and thought about giving it a watch. Would anyone recommend the series on how it is, this is also coming from someone that liked Titans even with some of the flaws I have with the series.
I loved titans i did watch Superman & lois and honestly give it a watch it's really good you will not regret it!
I loved it. Tyler Hoheclin did a phenomenal job. It's a different look at supermans feelings and his life as Both a superhero and a dad/husband. There's some real emotion that made me have a renewed respect for the boy in blue
Titans is gritty, raw and puts a new spin on some older stories. The CGI isn't great but over all the characters have more to offer.
People refer to Superman and Lois as a spiritual successor to Smallville and it shows
If Legacy looks good in trailers and screenshots and is good, the movie will do well.
If this movie is a hit it will definitely have people coming back to check out what’s new with DC.
i honestly wanted a hard reboot with the DCU and we're not essentially getting that with a few characters from gunn's part of the DCEU being brought in
but really as long as the main and biggest characters in this new DCU are being recast with new actors/actresses, i'm okay with it as will the vast majority of the general audience probably won't care that 3rd tier DC characters like blue beatle, peacemaker, waller, and a few others are staying onboard with their previous actors and previous DCEU
superman, batman, wonder woman in particular will be the center of this new movie universe in the DCU hopefully and it's looking like all 3 will be played by new people which is the most important part of reestablishing this new universe
as for superman legacy and the hype ... i believe at 2024 comic con, gunn along with other DC execs will have a panel there to show us or announce something to the fans about the movie and we're likely to get a slew of casting announcements even before that for future DCU films and TV series ... i'd also guess we'll get some kind of teaser from superman legacy a year from now or by the end of 2024
this current DCU slate is pretty great and i'm hyped for it ... i mean they already announced superman, batman, green lanterns, and we're likely getting a wonder woman movie after paradise lost ... that's 4 of the biggest DC heroes and 4 key members of a potential justice league team and we're not even sure if hawkgirl who has already been cast and will appear in superman legacy will be part of the first justice league lineup either ... never mind a supergirl movie also ... and that's just half of the chapter 1 slate announced by janes gunn so i'm sure we're going to get a flash and aquaman movie announcement too soon
not to mention there a report just today that momoa is in talks to play lobo although that was pretty locked into the minds ever since he released that video of him being extremely happy about a new project months ago and we'll also get a solo movie with him in the near future too
I completely understand that Superman needs to do well and I hope it does. I will most likely be seeing it
James Gunn's biggest strength is making us truly care about the characters no matter how strange or obscure they are.
After the success of Peacemaker i think Gunn can do whatever the fuk he wants.
People already hating on the DCU are genuinely mentally I’ll fans that need to put their phone down
I just hope that superman is successful
James Gunn will do great things for DCU...he had a great start with Blue Beatle...if we come at these films and series with no expectations, we will be pleasantly surprised!
I have faith in James Gunn, i think it will be really good
can't see this movie failing
That Superman actor looks like "We have John Krasinski at home".
I do have doubts about the plans I've seen, but I'm waiting until I see the movies before I judge it.
Many things will be in the hopper anyway by the time they have numbers from superman legacy
I just enjoy Superman movies all around.❤
We are finally get the second half of the doom patrol season almost a year later lol i hope its decent i forgot everything that happened in the first half thanks boba
I think the should have done Sup as Second or 3rd.. maybe build some universe and hype first. Unless JG thought it was best to use Superman to build the foundation
On one hand I agree but on the other, I don’t think anyone beside the Trinity would be a good choice because they at least have the most marketing power
Well, since gunn confirmed that the dcu will have superman and batman basically as the main centre of the dcu, its a pretty good idea to start with superman
I hope that Mr. Gunn doesn’t go crazy with some many characters in one movie. I know that the avengers were successful but I mean just does go crazy.

Nothing official until the actor strike is over
Not sure what you mean by that with regards to this video?
I don't see what that has to do with this video though? This is a conversation about the pressure Superman Legacy has in making a good impression on audiences for the DCU, not discussing specifically casting.
Good Luck.
I think the DCU is making the same mistake the DCEU made. It IS jumping the shark and attempting to walk before it can crawl. With the world already being full of superheroes and supervillains, it feels even more rushed that the DCEU felt.
I'm sorry about Henry as Superman

🚨Superman Legacy will work in 2025.
🚨If the Superman Legacy movie was releasing 2024, WBD and I would be concerned about its box office.
🚨 Us DC Fans need time to grieve. For me, ZSJL is the best DCEU Film and one of the top 5 Comic Book Movies ever made. DC Fans need time to vent to be able to except the change. It has to a good script and good acting, Superman Legacy will make at least $600 Million in 2025.
♦️($600 Million is all it needs to be Successful.)
🚨 I don’t agree with WBD decision; however, as a business owner and professional, I understand most of the decision made by WBD and James Gunn.
Not really interested in a James Gunn Superman.
I'm definitely excited to see the new Lex Luther since seeing Michael Rosenbaum's podcast where James said he IS THE BEST lex luther. True dat bro
Michael isn't Lex in the DCU you know
Launching with Superman is a mistake.
No interest in Superman???

I highly doubt Shaq will be back as Steel seeing as the guy is 50.
if james gunn got guardians of the galaxy to get 750 million every volume i think he can easily get a billion for superman. this is the most famous super hero written by one of the most consistent super hero director. even if the snyder cultists boycott it (they are much smaller in size than they think they are) it will be a hit.
Dont know man, the problem is the prostepticve that the general public have to dc, i really hope that superman legacy get a really good word of mouth, so it can reach 800-900 milion at the box office, but for a billion at the box office its a a hard challenge, but yet its not impossibile
With age I’ve come to think that it’s all about the chemistry between the actors. Don’t knock it til you try it. Kill your darlings.
Well, hard reboot it is
It is.
Entire new cast
I'm worried that given the general comedic tone of Peacemaker and the Guardians movies, that Gunn will make Superman into a complete joke, Starlord with Superpowers. I'm worried that because Snyder took Superman too seriously. Gunn wont take the character seriously at all.
I'm all for the movie being tonally on the lighter side but I don't want a comedy with tons of pop culture references and 1970s music. I want Superman, and his mythology to be treated with proper reverence and respect, and for the character himself to act like an adult.
High Evolutionary was comedy?
@@brian5771 No. But the general tone of the entire guardians franchise was a comedy. I'm for humor in a superman movie, but unless this movie is a complete 180 of his usual filmmaking and writing style. I'm worried they'll make Superman a complete joke.
Yeah High Evolutionary was scary. But they still took a huge detour from the story to make jokes about walrus men dealing meth.
@@tommyfishhouse8050 Gunn can balance humour and drama. He knows when to make it serious and when to make it funny. He is not Taika Waititi
Idk man… “The Flash” trailer looked pretty good but certain people kept referring to EM a “they them”
I dont care what anyone says, we should have gotten Henry Cavils superman in a kingdom come story out of the snyderverse.
Boring
@@mrbluesky4838 you bugging. That wouod have been 🔥
@@kinghitman6270 his superman was terrible, but if they wanna give him a chance with an elseworlds story then they can go for it
Thats your opinion but plenty of others including myself thinks he was the greatest alongside Reeves. However yes it would be nice for a elsewords story on max.
@@kinghitman6270 he’s incomparable to reeve. What exactly made his superman so good exactly?
I feel like this movie is already at a disadvantage by ppl not going to c it due to not having Henry cavill & synderverse fans will boycot it.
If this flops then i think the future is bleak for DC box office outside of batman
@@ahmadmohammed4212 I dont think Cavil would downgrade himself from Superman to some other DC character
Oh it will completely crash and Burn ..... AND DESERVEDLY SO Getting rid of Actors that made the role there own WAS and IS a HUGE MISTAKE ..... Marvel knew not to mess with the lead roles.and kept them all on for 10+ yrs and longer.
WB f*** up way too long and way too many times. I am going back to comic books, I feel i need a break from all these superhero movies/tv series...comics never fail
Marvel had a heap of flops before they got it right too.
Now DC has Gunn.
James gunn gonna make all these bum charactets litt he made gotg litt nobody knew Who they were before gunn
Superman 6 is going to flop #Firejamesgunn
Yeah in your dreams mate, I love how you seem to be deluded into thinking that hashtag will actually do anything
🤣ok bud whatever you say. Superflop 6 is already a bust and all this clown seems to do is run his mouth - and the careers of those involved - straight to the ground@@mrbluesky4838
They said that about Peacemaker too
And it did😂@@dcmastermindfirst9418
I’m concerned he’s going to try to make the movie overly goofy and silly. I like what Snyder was trying to do with the character by showing Superman developing, growing, and struggling as person and superhero
I don’t think you should scared of that. James Gunn said that they will have different tones for the movies to fit the stories. Also, James Mangold who is directing Swamp Thing, already said that the movie is going horror and gothic.
I will never pay a penny for a DC product with a Disney/Marvel director Gunns name attached.
Singer, Whedon and Gunn failed DC.
DOA 🚮
Enough with the fake ass red vs blue feud bullshit!
@Comicbookfanboy31 Your a Marvel Gunn Guzzler posing as a DC fan. What is the Snyderverse?
@Comicbookfanboy31 What is the Snyderverse?
DC needs Zack Snyder
Nope, he needs to stay far far away from DC
No it doesn't.
Mark my words. Like a flash. DCU is a reboot of a reboot now. Free to be real now. In Jesus Christs name we pray amen.
Yeah but now it actually has a plan and Gunn is directing it all.
Under Snyder it was a mess
I’m not doing another reboot. Gunn is a creep. Flush.
Gunn has a poor track record as far as box office success but I think legacy will be one of his best performing. Less than the guardians but way more than anything else he's done
Box office yes Superhero movies his track record is pretty solid
@@SuperAz1981 no his MCU movies have good numbers. His movies without the mouse behind them do not.
@@dobi287 if you look at at scoring from critics and audiences. Suicide Squad box offices not withstanding considering at.thwbpoint the General Audience already ditched DC properties faired really well for audiences and critics. Peacemaker series was so well received it was ordered to second season the same day the finale aired. So all his comic book movies have been considered hits by the studio the critics and the over all public that watched them
@@dobi287 The first shazam has a box office score of $140.5 mil and it still got a sequel. So critics scores and audience opinion do factor a lot more to a film success.
Also trying to differentiate his Marvel & DC stuff shouldn't matter because It's all part of his career, and his track record is pretty solid.
@@unknown-iy2we audience opinion does matter and to a lesser degree critics but money talks the loudest to studios/businesses. Literally EVERY movie Gunn has made outside the MCU has lost the studio money, so how exactly are his numbers "solid"? He's lost HUNDREDS of millions, that's not an exaggeration.
Ps the first Shazam made 367 million
What if he makes less than Man of Steel? What if it makes less than 400 million? What if it makes as much as The Flash?😂
What if you just shut up??
I doubt it'll make less than those two films
Say what you like about me as you are all entitled to your opinions and you are all entitled to suck up to gunn and co but not for me..For instance just look what happens when a marvel crossover enters the DC..We get Joss whedon's version of the justice League which was so bad that Snyder was called back in to finish off the original movie and I was one of the many millions with such high hopes who watched it at the cinema back in 2017 and what a car crash of a movie that was..it's not about what I like or whatever other fans like..it's about people who go out and spend their hard earned money to go to the cinema only to be robbed by a rushed movie that had to be released by a certain date only to have the original movie re released via streaming services four years later.

This Superman will fail. Man of Steel captured the Zeitgeist of the general audience. Autistic critics from rotten tomatoes will not be able to protect james gunn this time
Can't wait until James gunn fails and gets it wrong and the movie bombs just like the flash,Shazam and black Adam.. Don't like him or saffron and hope they fail in everything they do and then hopefully they will get kicked off all future DC projects.
Well, I mean, Gunn has no bad CBM. He had a great reputation. You're not a DC fan at all. Snyderbots were not DC fans. You're disgraced to the fandom
I'm here for very very very tall superman, batmen will line up to play supporting actor
I have zero faith that James Gunn is capable of making this the film it needs to be and I’m sad you’re stuck covering his bullshit now. I miss the days of reeves and snydercut dominating the air - this DCU shit is going to fucking suck.
Please just shut up about Snyder.. he’s not even a good director - so sick of hearing about him.
Snyder universe failed though
Lol.did you see Peacemaker or The Suicide Squad???
Both excellent
snydercut is overrated and god awful
@@firstlast9846 Yeah, he only released the most financially successful films of the entire DCEU and brought the dark graphic novel tone that people love about DC, fuck that guy. Lets write more jokes about how Aquaman fucks fish and Superman having a poop fetish yeah that sounds awesome.
Its going to fail BIGTIME....everybidys done eith capes and spandex unless its dark R rated brutally realistic and with veryittle cgi....gunn hasnt a hope of any of this
Yeah they said Peacemaker would suck too.
See how that turned out?
