I want to see Superman enjoying the little things about what he does. Not just saving, but talking with the people he saved afterwards. Helping calm their nerves. Hell, you could even update the whole "saving a cat from a tree" thing, and instead have him saving multiple pets from a house fire or something. Good use of his powers, using x-ray vision and super hearing to locate the animals. Strength and speed to zip through and get them all safely (in slow motion would be pretty neat with the flames and stuff around him as he flies through the building) maybe the ceiling collapses and we can get an epic shot of him holding out his cape with all the pets sheltering beneath it before he gets them outside to the owner, he smiles, zips back inside to use his freeze breath to put out the fire, and is back a second or so later... I don't know maybe a scene like that would be too much for some people, but i want to see some really wholesome moments throughout.
Fam, no, stop it! Things in the comic book do not always translate well in the theatre! I go to the theatre and you do that mess you’re talking IM GOING TO BE PISSSED! Save multiple pets from a 🏡! Get out of here with that 1950s white bread 💩! We are no longer in the 1950s, you run wholesome crap like that in a film and the die hard will check out! Quick! If you do it, it better be quick, I’m talking a minute or less quick! Leave that in the comic 📚’s
One thing I personally hope to see in Superman: Legacy is for the movie to give the spotlight on underrated Superman villains that we've not seen in live-action movies before because Superman has some really great villains other than Lex, Brainiac or Zod. Villains like Parasite, Metallo, Livewire, Ultra-Humanite, Mr Mxyzptlk, Lobo, Toyman, Silver-Banshee etc... all have so much potential to tell fascinating, relatable and bold stories and give audiences a new look at Superman's mythos and the large extent of his rogues gallery and how interesting his world can be. Of course, not all of them will be adapted but I would love to see just a small few of those villains written well and given a chance
I completely agree, Superman has the most underrated rogues gallery in all of comics and it's a bit frustrating that people only ever talk about Zod, Brainiac, and Lex who are in my personal opinion some of the least interesting.
Metallo would be good as he's a threat due to the kryptonite so we don't have to wonder why can't Supes just one shot this guy? Then Lex can make a short appearance as being the one who funded Metallo's creation, using the data on Superman's weakness to kryptonite to his advantage. Parasite is another good choice. I'm tired of Lex honestly.
@@elmermedina1713 Yeah I completely agree either Metallo or Parasite as the main villains would be such refreshing choices allowing audiences to see how truly expanded Superman's Rogue's gallery are, and how interesting they can be when given the spotlight. I feel like you could really make Parasite or Metallo into sympathetic characters that are corrupted by Lex who acts more a puppet master in the background, acting as an ever foreboding pressence. I even have a pit h idea to my take on Metallo to be a former marine turned firefighter who loses his legs in a collapsing building unintentionally caused by Superman and goes through a depression until he makes a deal with Lex to get surgery but unknowingly became one of Lex's test subjects this sending down a mental breakdown where he takes it out on Superman.
@@nicholassavage8274 Yeah, all of his villains have so much potential on the big screen and with the right vision and direction they can truly be as popular as say Batman or Spider-mans Rogue's gallery's in media and pop-culture. While yes I definitely agree Lex and Zod get used way too much, I don't think Brainiac is less interesting because I feel like his personal connection to Krypton and when he's depicted as Krypton's former global AI it provides a deeper layer of personal stakes and inner conflict for Clark when covering his heritage. Zod in my opinion is the most overrated and least interesting Superman villain as yes his ideals of retaining Krypton's legacy are interesting, but his constant, repetitive usage in media today just feels so exhausting and the more you see him the less interesting and appealy he becomes. Lex, while yes has been used too often as well, does have a justification for his pressence since he is Superman's arch enemy and a legitimately fascinating villain and three dimensional character that acts as the antithesis of everything Superman represents so as long as they use him sparingly and have him more as a puppet master behind the shadows we can finally have the great Lex film adaptation we've all waited far too long for
Funny thing is watching Superman the animated series really gave me a lot of comic book knowledge about Superman I learned about Lana and Perry white and lots of other characters I love it
Here's are my 8 thing i want in new superman 1. Deco Metropolis 2. Interacting with kids 3. World Building 4. The Kent's and krypto the dog 5. Characters Development 6. Fight Scene 7. Clark and Jor-el 8. Quotes in the end credits
Hear me out: The movie starts with a black screen and the words “Doomed Planet. Desperate Scientists. Last Hope. Kindly Couple” with the music slowly swelling as those words appear. Then we are dropped in modern days.
11. The S on the cape. Also I think it’s truer to reality the Donner Lois (and something that ALWAYS annoyed me) that Lois does not even recognize Clark because she is blinded by Superman.
1. The Kents - I personally would like to see them both around to help Kara - Supergirl adapt to earth. 2. Superman Year 3 - I absolutely love this idea and honestly this is basically what he is going to give us. Clark has been working with the Daily Planet for 1 to 2 years and has made a name for himself. Superman is the established hero and protector of Metropolis. 3. Lois & Clark - I would like for Lois to know Clark is Superman and they are dating and she is literally helping cover for him when he has to do his Superman thing. 4. Suit - The Kingdom Come symbol would be dope. No underwear on the outside.....its 2025. Give him a utility belt with yellow and red. 5. Movie and Theme - All heroes and villains exist and the world knows it. How he handles being heroic is not appreciated by all initially but by movies ends most of the world does. 6. Metamorpho Origin - I do not want to see an origin for anyone in the movie at all. In regards to Metamorpho I would like to already being a part of the Terrifics. 7. Villain - Would not mind if Brainiac is pulling strings of B list villains through the help of technology. Would be cool if Lobo was scavenging Earth for its hero's and Mr Terrific and his crew were helping investigate. 8. Lex Luthor - I want him to be President working with Brainiac and Vandal Savage behind the scenes. 9. Clark Kent - Would like his personality to be such as no one would ever believe he was Superman. 10. Larger World Building - All heroes and villains exist and have for decades. Justice Society is taught about in schools for saving the earth in the past. Commercials about heroes on TV while the Kents are eating breakfast and its so normal that they dont flinch. I want it all. Not necessarily all of it in this one movie.
I do like the idea of the kingdom come suit. But I'd really like the red trunks on, because it's so early on. And then a slow transition away from it during a trilogy or something With Lex Luther I'd like to see the middle and eventual election as president. I feel like his ideals would be better communicated in rallys and debates and see clearly how they contrast Superman's.
I'd like to see a New 52 kind of suit. With the belt and the collar. The collar would certainly make him stand out from previous iterations, and I just like that suit 🤷♂️
@kadegetslaid634 4.bp.blogspot.com/-83ki_r52aDs/WHq5RDcULFI/AAAAAAAA0Vo/mk6WEFgL8hwHDNj1K1o96wrtziBYRBAlwCLcB/s1600/nu52superman.png I'd take that look any day of the week, twice on Sunday. But hey, if you boys just want want the same old classic suit, then you do you 👍
I really like your third want from Legacy as that's a crucial part to Superman & Lois' story together. Whether she be the one to figure it out or he eventually tells her, it's after the confession where their dynamic shifts which I'd really like to see done in the new DCU
here's my theory for the suit in Legacy. He could have a more classic primary suit, with the classic symbol and trunks, but he could get a more modernized (like Rebirth or S&L) version either at the end of the movie or in a future Justice League project. I would ideally keep the same cape throughout the DCU, preferably with the 'S' crest on it to carry on the legacy of Krypton and his parents
1. Jonathan and Martha both being alive. One of the things I loved about Superman: The Animated Series was both parents being alive and involved. Why do they feel they have to kill Jonathan to be dead in the beginning of his journey? I get in the original movie it was needed but let’s make it so he’s alive. 2. Lois and Clark being married. Let them be happy and maybe have a kid or two like in Superman & Lois.
I think John Boyega should play John Stewart. Hes at the right age to play the character and he's talented enough to be a leading man in a superhero franchise. I feel bad he got screwed over by Disney with the star wars movie. Lanterns could be his big comeback role in a mainstream franchise.
For the suit, I used to be against trunks but now I really think they should have them. I think they should do something similar to the returns suit but with brighter colors and a bigger emblem
For the most part I agree with this list. But I just can’t get behind the black and red symbol. We haven’t seen a normal Superman suit in a film since 2006 and I miss it. I think the bold change we need is to go classic. The suits we’ve seen for our dc heroes recently have been the rubbery muscle and armor suits. I think just having a simple fabric suit again will not only look good, but also be refreshing.
Lex should be active behind the scenes; like a rich chessmaster, using his wealth to manipulate the world around him. I think that it should take time for Superman to even suspect him being the big bad, as he will be too busy fighting the manipulations that Lex has set into motion. Superman should also be working towards becoming an inspiration for the other heroes; not in a messianic way, but more like the "truth, justice" and whatever way. He wants to be an inspiration to make people better, and does not understand why other vigilantes would not want to do the same.
I completely agree with the Kent’s being present. Especially with Jonathan. My father has been absent from my life emotionally so im a sucker for movies that have meaningful connections between a son and father. For example, the scenes of Jonathan talking to young Clark about his abilities in Man Of Steel really got to me.
Acknowledgment of classic Superboy. Distinctive Metropolis. Bibbo. Scientist Lex. Real philosophical difference between Lex and Superman. The world needed a Superman (villains originated before heroes). Rules of Superman's powers.
A great story is at the top of my list, not only building up some farfetched reason to have a major confrontation with a lot of CGI at the end of the movie. Superman is far from my favourite hero, but I still hope the world that is hereby created can be a really good one. Perhaps the main heroes in the world are tackling villains head on, almost using the same tactics, and here comes the nice guy, turning all that around. I will watch it in any case, but I am foremost interested in what it shows about the world and the other heroes in it. Perhaps there are even heroes outside of the US, not only villains.
Here’s what I’d really like to see in Superman: Legacy. 1. “Strange Visitor from Another Planet” - I definitely agree that the title of “Legacy” can point to his legacy as showing a better way to the superhero community, but I think we can deeper than that. I’d like to think it’s about Clark rediscovering his legacy, his birthright, as a kryptonian and honoring it. Choosing to embrace both his humanity and alien heritage. “Superman: Brainiac” by Geoff Johns has been cited as an inspiration for the movie, so I do believe Brainiac will be the main villain, and having him as the first alien threat Clark has ever faced and probably having him come to terms with where he came from would really play into how the character originally reflected the experience of Jewish-American immigrants in the 20th century. I definitely hope that comes across in one way or another. Having Clark eventually discover the fortress, or learning about Krypton through Brainiac (In a way similar to the STAS episode “Stolen Memories” and Gene Luen Yang’s “Superman Smashes the Klan”) would be a very powerful story to adapt. Having a Jewish actor play him just adds to that; 2. “Champion of the Oppressed” - I’d really like to see them sprinkle in the golden age element of Superman being a community-based hero. His socialist origins as a defender of the downtrodden would really help define at what point of his career Clark is; 3. “My mother made it for me” - I’d love to see a cloth suit. It bugs me how most suit designs nowadays look like some form of armor. I like having his suit (or at least his cape) be the blankets he was wrapped in as a child. He is wearing the colors of his planet, proudly expressing his heritage through them. I’d love to start with the Fleischer emblem and later transition to the more traditional one after Supergirl enters the scene. I wouldn’t mind if it was basically the Christopher Reeve spandex with a different emblem and a LITTLE bit of texture so it doesn’t look too flat. The trunks are MUST for me. I believe it would help show the audience we are returning to a more earnest kind of version of the character and one we shouldn’t be ashamed of enjoying. Perhaps make them MORE apparent as trunks rather than briefs. I like the “circus strongman” aesthetic and you need something to cut through all the blue; 4. “Mild-Mannered Reporter” - I want some emphasis on Clark as a competent investigative reporter. Grant Morrison’s Action Comics run comes to mind. Maybe a subplot involving Lex Luthor, maybe even Bruno Manheim and Intergang with a minor cameo. But I do think it’s an underplayed angle in most stories; 5. “Superman is what I can do. Clark Kent is who I am” - He was not raised Kal-El. He was not raised Superman. Clark is a dorky, earnest guy from Kansas with a dream to help others. If it wasn’t for the powers, he’d help people as a firefighter. Superman is an extension of Clark, and he appreciates his background as Kal-El, but Clark Kent makes him who he is. Like you said, Tyler Hoechlin nailed that balance and made Clark feel like a real person; 6. “Diseased Maniac” - While I do think Clancy Brown is arguably the best Lex Luthor, and Michael Rosembaum is the best live-action portrayal of the character, I think the movie should take a cue from John Shea’s Lex. If Superman was created as a response to the nazis adopting the idea of the “übermensch” and subverting it, Lex should be übermensch played straight. He should be a cut-throat capitalist with some background in science, but still arrogant enough to wear a Kryptonite ring that eventually gives him cancer. He should be VERY handsome and charming, and physically fit. Have a commanding presence and a facade of philanthropy that Lois and Clark can see through. Lex would think of himself as a randian hero of sorts, Nietzsche’s übermensch. And Superman would morally and philosophically oppose that. I also don’t like Lex being from Smallville. Keep him as an old money city person; 7. “The City of Tomorrow” - Metropolis should feel like its own character. Art Deco meets futurism. I see a bit of San Francisco in it instead of the traditional New York angle. Making it into a tech hub, windy but always sunny, “the big apricot”. 8. “The Meteor Capital of the World!” - Smallville should feel like a Norman Rockwell painting. Like it could be stuck in the 1950s. A lot of classic Americana imagery. Drive home Superman as an American Folk hero; 9. “Doomed Planet” - If we do get glimpses of Krypton, I envision it as having a Silver Age-esque vibe. Very Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon Pulp sci-fi. With a modern twist of course; 10. “Great Metropolitan Newspaper” - Make the Daily Planet a lived-in, REAL place populated by people. Perry, Jimmy, Cat, Steve, Ron… make it feel like a place with a storied history and personality. Maybe Perry has a Ceasar bust in his officer and an Elvis poster. Jimmy and his cameras and action-figures of fictional heroes like “Elastic Lad” and “Turtle Boy. Steve has his footballs. Joking about Lois’ constant typos. Etc. Maybe the Planet’s slogan is that it stands from “Truth, Justice and The American Way”, “Truth, Equality and Justice”, “Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow” or whichever you prefer. Founded in 1938 by George Taylor. Add to the mythology, some fun gags, stuff like that. In the end, I’m very excited. Superman is a character near and dear to my heart that I’ve loved since I was 2 years old when my parents first bought me a dvd with the original Fleischer shorts. The 1978 movie remains my favorite movie to this day. Most people’s general idea of the character is a patchwork of the comics, fleischer shorts, radio show, George Reeves show, Christopher Reeve movies, 90s animated series, Lois and Clark, Smallville, Henry Cavill movies, etc. The same way “The Batman” felt like a celebration of the different versions of the character (particularly the Adam West show, Burton movies, Frank Miller’s Year One, Earth One, the Bronze and Modern age of comics, etc) I’d like to see the Superman equivalent of that. A definitive version that pulls from our favorite versions of the chatacter. I’d personally like to see a character arc representing the character’s transition from the Golden to Silver age, some of Mark Waid’s Birthright and current World’s Finest run, For All Seasons, STAS, Superman Smashes the Klan, Grant Morrison’s All-Star Superman, New 52 Action Comics and the Lois & Clark show. I truly believe we are at a renaissance era for the character with Superman and Lois, My Adventures with Superman, the Joshua Williamson run, and now this. I have high hopes for this movie.
1. I want no trunks 2. I want brainiac 3. I want jason mamoa lobo 4. I want incredible fight scenes showing why superman is not to be trifled with. 5. Some form of space battle or him on a different planet . Tired of earth being the only place we see superman 6 . Show case all his main powers.. (looking at you ice breath) 7. Great acting 8. Him being the first superhero 9. Be the same damn age as batman 🙄 10. NO FCKING SLO MO
An interesting arc for Lex could be to introduce him in this movie as being supportive of Superman at first but the events of this film begin to warp his view. The sequel has him in the background manipulating events to "test" Clark, which in his mind Clark fails. After that he's in strait up villain mode. I want this Lex to be scary. He's calm and cool in public but becomes more and more unhinged behind the scenes as the movies go on. Later scenes with him should leave the viewer shaken by his presence. Borderline horror villain level menace. Something I'd like to see anyways.
I say either have Lois already know he's Superman or have him tell her in this movie. Still prefer her already knowing. Overall I hope we get a good balance of a hopeful, inspiring Superman (hopefully not as campy as the classic Reeve movies but along the lines of the comics, specifically 86 Byrne run to current) and some kick-ass action (even if not Man of Steel level I still wanna see him slug it out with a powerful villain...if not Brainiac then anyone who can hang physically with him). I agree 100% about Lex as well...do the slow build with him over time. I agree about the Kents as well. Would be nice to have a franchise where we have both of them around for a while.
I am so beyond excited for Superman Legacy. I really believe that this film is going to bring back the true image of Superman, and bring back the audience that loves the character.
I want classic cloth Superman suit with trunks. No body armor, or modern cgi stuff on his suit, or muted colors. Suit similar to what Christopher Reaves wore that was his suit in his comics for decades.
I agree. I don’t like how the suit in most modern movies looks like armor. I want basically the original Reeve suit design back with a LITTLE texture so it doesn’t look fully flat. You could start with the Fleischer symbol and when Kara comes around, switch to the classic symbol. Also, trunks. And make them a bit more visible AS trunks.
Cavill’s suit is far superior than Reeves. Gunn might give us a more “traditional” take on the character but he will have a suit closer to Cavills for a modern take. Maybe a better and more polished version than Tyler’s on Superman & Lois.
@@DarthSoto78 Exactly. The armor is nonsensical. I didn’t like it in the New 52 and I don’t like it in Cavill (though I did like his casting. I just didn’t enjoy the direction his character was taken in). The suit is his connection to his background. He wears the colors of his planet, the emblem of his house with pride. They are the blankets that wrapped him as a child. Some very light texture on the emblem and spandex would be nice tho. You can go with the “tough material to destroy” approach from Birthright/Secret Origin or the “he emits an aura that rests a few milimeters above his skin so the skin tight suit is indestructable while on him” from the Post-Crisis Byrne/Jurgens runs. I prefer the latter cause it also explains how he is able to tackle people from falling buildings without killing them. Since the aura extends to everything close to his skin, it protects them.
Another great video! I think “Clark” should be played closest to the George Reeves version. George’s version was a solid, hard-nosed reporter. There was absolutely no “stumbin’ and bumblin’” there.
smallvile surprisingly created some good lore, the way the fortress came to be and yes the Kent family as a hole, these things should be touched on in the legacy film being as its supposedly based on his early years, legacy should especially touch on why Clark eventually began to fly and the emphasis on the special connection between Lois and Clark and how important Lois is
I know superman and lois are attached at the hip in damn near all the stories but just imagine if they werent and you could let him just grow first. Or let him a wonder woman or someone who could be almost just as powerful as him be his partner. It feels time for a change and if done rite I think would be badass. That way when it comes to his sons they become some crazy unknown that everyone is torn on
For the best new Superman you have to take the powerful feel and approach Cavill had with the great Superman character personality wise that Tyler Hoecklin gave us. Mix both and you have the best Superman interpretation (Side note: if given the chance I do believe Cavill could of played the traditional Superman that we all know and love if given the opportunity)
I was thinking something along the lines of the Batman where Bruce is in year 2. We've skipped the origin with nods to the Wayne murders without recreating yet another scene. Something like that I hope would be felt in Superman: Legacy, maybe they show him using a certain power not totally perfectly. Not like he loses control or anything but something little to show along with having a strong grip on his powers already he's still got something to learn. With Boba's description of the Suit I have nothing specific but I would like an older black emblem costume like from Superman & Lois to be shown. Not the whole movie obviously but as to show a more personal side of Superman maybe his main blue & red is torn up a bit and for the final battle he goes into he wears the old black emblem that Martha Kent made for him. Not exactly like this since I just thought of it on the spot but the costumes worn I think must reflect what stage Superman is. The classic blue & red to show he's ready and the old black emblem is he's in infancy or it's symbolic for something. Idk love your vids Boba!
1) no Pa Kent. Not being able to save his father is a crucial motivator to why Clark became Superman 2) ‘the love triangle’ Lois is amazed by Superman, doesn’t see Clark as a romantic partner, yet. That’s a slow burner as she begins to slowly fall for Clark. In the meantime Clark plays second fiddle to Superman, creating an interesting dynamic. 3) More Perry, Jimmy, Daily Planet. Built around Clark as well as Superman. 4) Superman year 1. He’s a rumour on the streets of Metropolis. He’s out there saving people but hasn’t been ‘announced’ to the world. 5) max fleischer superman ‘S’ 6) Character development. Which means not too many characters all given limited character development. It hits harder when you know and feel for the characters, this takes time to develop for the audience to get to know who the characters are. 7) Lex is in it. But not the main antagonist. A Lex with gravitas. I like the idea of a loved public figure, whereas behind the scenes his true character is hidden away as he observes a genuine threat to his plans-Superman. 8) an amazing Metropolis. A city which has its own identity. Yet isn’t NYC or recognisable as another real city. 9) ‘uncool Clark’ he’s a big old farm boy from Kansas who’s innocent country ways make him ‘uncool’ to the city slickers. There’s nothing worse than a ‘cool sexy Clark’ (see Cavill/Dean Cain) who’s good looking and would be clearly popular and a standout in day to day life. There needs to be a distinction between superman and Clark. Remember, Clark is the disguise. 10) no Batman. Not yet.
No Trunks for the Suit. It looks like Bullshit-Pampers. It looks like a perverted kind of Underwear. He's still Superman. And not a hiding Belly Mitch Bucannon. Superman don't needs Santa's Underwear. I think a Nano-Suit like Iron-Man's were really cool. The Chest Symbol needs only a 3d-Look, red and yellow colours. No dark or black colours. The blue should be a little bit darker than Reeves Suit, but brighter than the first Man of Steel Suit. The Cape should have a kind of Leather-Look like Brandon Routh's Suit. But a brighter red. The Boots should have a Modern or Mecha-Look, like Captain America's modern Boot's. The Cape needs urgently a yellow Superman-Symbol. And he needs a long Cape. The Cape must reach until Supermans feet. Just a little bit above the Ground. Not a short Cape like Reeves'. It looks really really ridicilous. Brainiac or Parasite for Villain(s). No Lex Luthor on Board. And no General Zod. Enough of Lex and Zod. And the End of the Movie needs a Cliffhanger with Lobo.😄
I do agree with The Kents being in Superman Legacy. It's a rumor that Kurt Russell is going to be Jor-El, but I can see Russell as Jonathan Kent. Played a terrible father in the MCU, he can play one of the best dad in the DCU.
Metamorpho should get his powers by mistake. A “mistake” Luther set him up to make. Metalo could be a project Metamorpho could be working on for Lexcorp that goes haywire and Metomorpho looses trust in Lex because of it. Lois and Clark could reveal Lex’s underhandedness that turns Metomorpho against Luthor. Set down roots of who can you trust and where alliances form.
Things I want in the DCU Superman overall. 1.) an exploration of other Superman love interests prior to Lois Lane. I love Lois and Clark and they should always be endgame. But I’d love some flashbacks to Clark’s childhood with Lana Lang. And if they show Clark in college I think Lori Lemaris would be a fun addition. 2.) Bizarro and Bizarro World. A cube shaped planet? Sign me up 3.) different color variations of Kryptonite (Red/Green/Blue mainly) 4.) a revamped version of the Max Fleischer Superman suit. 5.) The Legion of Superheroes. I think this would be a fun addition to also shake up the origin story for this version. 6.) if we see Krypton destruction again I’d love to see it from Kara’s perspective and I hope Krypton has a Judeo-Futuristic aesthetic akin to what Black Panther did with Afro-Futurism in Wakanda. 7.) President Luthor. I think it could be an overarching thread for multiple films even outside of the Superman films. 8.) Ma & Pa Kent being alive for the most part. And if you want to kill them off don’t do it immediately and let us grow to love these characters. 9.) Metropolis as an actual character. I would like it if maybe they took notes from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy because NYC in those movies genuinely felt like it was filled with life and these background people didn’t just feel like extras. I’d also like it if they took influence from the Art Deco design in Superman: TAS. 10.) Crossing him over into a lot of projects and really centering the universe around him. He could pop up in a Nightwing movie to show his dynamic with Dick Grayson, he could pop up in a rebooted Shazam series since the crossovers between them are fun, he could show up in the Supergirl movie, he could pop up in the rebooted Flash to redo the race between the characters, etc. just make him the glue of the universe
I think they should bring back that Lex and Clark old friends dynamic where they were good childhood friends. Something could happen in there past where Clark suited up as superman and almost killed Lex by accident while trying to save him. from then on Lex develops hate for superman and other super powered beings.
That wouldn’t make sense cause than Lex would know Clark is Superman. I believe you are talking about the Smallville approach which is awesome but they even had to essentially kill Lex off to bring him back later with no memories to set up the Superman v Lex Luthor dynamic
BobaTalks. I don't know if you read comics too but I am on a massive Superman comic binge! All-Star Superman is by far my favourite Superman story ever and I recommend Superman: Brainiac by Geoff Johns for what I'd imagine a James Gunn Superman story could be like. But today I read Superman: Birthright by Mark Waid. Absolutely love it! I would want Lex Luthor in Legacy to be similar to the Lex in that comic, someone who once knew Clark but never knowing his alien side yet, a tragic, abused, tormented genius who's become so powerful in terms of intellect, technology and wealth but lacking the love and positive virtues that The Kents passed onto Clark. A Lex who does the bad things he does to make himself feel better about himself and his place in the world. I have too many ideas on what I'd want to see in a new Superman movie but I totally have enough trust and faith in Gunn that I am excited to see his vision of these characters he seems to love so much. Hope your doing well, mate! XD
I've seen outfits where he has red on his shoulders instead and I think that look is a happy middle ground for everyone. As for hero refrences there's plenty of easy ways to do that, like for example maybe Clark passes by a store that's owned by Bruce Wayne, or he sees news reports of merfolk sightings for Aquaman. Gunn can do small things like that to give the impression of a big superhero world while keeping the focus on Superman.
My wish list for Superman Legacy: 1-COMIC ACCURATE CASTING 2-Kara (not Supergirl yet) maybe in an end credit scene. Boba why didn't you include her? 3-Clark and Lois NOT in any romantic relationship yet. They are friends, they feel the chemistry and are on their way 4-Lex Luthor behind the scenes plotting but not the main villain. Clark and Lois know him from their reporting 6-references to Batman and Wonder Woman 7-Character building 8-The Kents still alive, not in flashbacks 9-A lower level super villain as the main antagonist (Toy Man?) 10-Jimmy Olsen as a young photographer and intern
You basically mean the goofy light stuff that only super diehards from the 60s and 70s care about! Toy man? Stop it! Outside of character building which is important, most of what you say, do it and that film will flop, HARD! Comic accurate? Ehh I get it but I don’t mind a non comic accurate version either.
I'm not talking about the "goofy" anything from the 60s & 70s. A Toy man from modern day! listen, this movie has to be different. Going back to the "boy scout" Superman is the way to go. Would you rather have Superman kill again? Not me
@@JT-lw2wv Ehhh, maybe you could make Toyman modern. Maybe make his goons dress up in regular goon street clothes and wear something like The Purge type masks, it could work. You could modernize the exploding dolls to be more of a gag by his view that explodes or use modern looking dolls or gadgets that release a nerve gas instead of exploding. However, Toyman isn’t a well known villain and unlike the comics in the films he’ll have to be serious or psychotic or you could flip it and make him anti-hero so it could work. Toyman is just known for being silly and goofy and not extremely popular as a Superman villain. The movie Has to be different? It was DIFFERENT! Going back to the Boy Scout Superman is the way to go? You just stated a contradiction of your own creation. You said you’re not talking about that goofy 60s and 70s Superman but then you say Boy Scout Superman, bring him back, THATS THREE VERY ESSENCE of the goofy Superman. As far as Superman killing, no don’t make him a kill machine or anything like that but if it’s necessary it’s not a deal breaker. Superman, albeit not often has killed in the comics before people just have selective memory or unaware. The reason why Cavill and MOS worked was because he was relatable! He was more reflective of the modern times! I don’t want Superman to be a killer but it was clear they were going with the Injustice Storyline. Gunn style is goofy slap stick humor and DC audiences have ALWAYS prided themselves on being more serious mature and edgy readers! They made Shazam goofy and look he’s viewed as a 2nd rate Superman when he’s a serious character and can legit go toe to toe with Superman. I fear they’re going to make Superman Legacy goofy and light hearted like Spiderman 1 and nope that’s it! Plus too many fans feel alienated after WB took a dump on them with Cavill and nixing 10 years people spent investing into the trinity
@@LanternEnergy Yeah I get it. I was talking about Superman villains with my "goofy" comment, not Superman. I of course want to see him modernized but still represent the best in us. It's always been ironic how it took an alien to represent the best of humanity and it's something that has always resonated with me. Boba, if you're reading this I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Something I'd like to see from Superman: Legacy actually has nothing to do with the movie itself. I think it'd be really neat if the movie posters were all different Superman comic covers. Like Action Comics #1, Superman #1, so on and so forth.
Also. I would like to see some kind of reference of Batman or Bruce Wayne. Like Clark is walking past the TV and it's a story on either Batman or Bruce Wayne
Half way through the video but If Superman is already an established Superhero id like to see a flashback scene of the first time he saved Lois, it doesnt even have to be long just maybe Clark looking at an article of it then a 30 sec or minute of it actually happening, i loved in Superman: The Movie when he first saved Lois, would be good to see the first save/interaction of Lois & Superman. Also I'd love to see Superman save random people who dont just happen to be part of the story, like one of the scenes i actually liked in Returns was him going through the city saving people from debris and catching th DP globe - even if its just a couple times throughtout Legacy - heck id settle for him saving Eve (maybe Luthor testing his speed) But honestly just hoping for an awesome movie so we can get more and hopefully not wait too long for a sequel if successful
Definitely the real pa Kent should be present. My Adventures of Superman gave a fgreat depiction of a Pa Kent full of hope and positive energy who you could see raising the Superman we know. this Pa would never tell Clark that killing or allowing death around him was ok.
Great video, great ideas! Here are ten things I’d like to see! 1. A new atmosphere/ aesthetic- I really want Superman Legacy, if not the entire DCU, to feel and look different from everything we’ve seen before. I don’t want this to look like the mcu or the Snyderverse. I want the soft colors of Superman’s adventures, I want Metropolis to feel like an actual fictional city and not just New York. But it doesn’t always have to be exciting, either. Perhaps when he’s not Superman and he’s not working at the Bugle, he lives in this quiet cheap apartment room where the colors are bit muted and it feels entirely grounded. Kinda like Toby’s Spiderman sitting in his apartment, a complete contrast to the whimsical nature of what lies outside. Even when you look at Christopher Reeves Superman movie, check out how Richard Donner showcased the Daily Planet. It’s packed, messy, filled with life, and entirely human. If we can grasp that atmosphere once more? That merge between reality and fantasy? We will have a visually beautiful movie! Speaking of beautiful- 2. A beautiful soundtrack- I’m gonna be honest, I’m not a huge fan of Hans Zimmer Man of Steel soundtrack. It’s great, and works with Snyder’s Superman. Though, while hopeful, it also had more of a battle ready vibe to it. Which, again, fits Snyder’s Superman. But with this new Superman, something more somber and pleasant but still hopeful and inspiring would really work with this more comfortable and sweet take on the character. Something like the John Williams Superman music, something you could play with your grandma and she’d like and find warmth in! 3. Make Clark and Lois rivals! - Something that I think alot of people forget when it comes to Clark and Lois is that they started off as rather intense rivals. A lot of people nowadays just think that Clark came into the Daily Planet and was just tailing behind Lois until she learned to respect him, but that’s not really the case at all. Lois was always at the top until the new guy Clark arrived, moving at faster speeds than her and being able to grab more stories. It was a competition of sorts! A rivalry that would soon blossom into companionship ship, and afterwards? Romance. I think this allows you to explore a lot of things! One, a classic enemies to lovers trope. Two, you get to see why being a reporter is so important to Clark and Lois. For Clark, it’s his way to connect with this new environment and feel human. For Lois, it’s to prove herself capable to both herself and her father who always wished he had a son instead. Three, you get a new side of Lois we hardly ever see in live action! She’s not only a go-getter, but a COMPETITOR to SUPERMAN! That would be really cool! 4. Make this a Year 3 Superman- This is a Superman who is still fresh. People know who he is when they see him, but for the most part he’s remained grounded. He hasn’t ventured off in space to battle the likes of Darkseid or survive in Warworld. He’s not even really a celebrity, even. He’s more of a boyscout who’s only really saved cats out of trees and citizens from burning buildings. He MAY have gone toe to toe with Lex before considering that’s oftentimes a year one scenario, but there’s still a lot more to be dissected and explored from their dynamic. Keep in mind, this is the beginning of Clark’s 8-10 year story! But yes, he’s less of Superman: Earth’s Protector and more Superman: A Friend! 5. Superman’s Power Level- I’m honestly surprised that no one has talked about this yet, but I think it’s important we establish how powerful this Clark is. Atleast in his first movie! I say he should be around the same power level of Superman The Animated Series, where he can run fast and punch hard but can still feel damage when another meta human hits him and is arguably slower than the Flash. And he DEFINITELY isn’t fast enough to go back in time! You don’t need Kryptonite to have a fair chance of beating him. High tech and superpowers can do the trick. 6. Heavy Emphasis on The Kents! - While I’d love for Jonathan Kent to be alive, he doesn’t necessarily NEED to be in order for me to be happy. As long as Martha Kent can still baby her son and call him every once in awhile to see how he’s doing and how he’s fitting in. When Clark feels lonely and melancholy, he goes to his parents. He heads out to the farm to help pa. He takes Lois on a date to Smallville. That homemade essence is very important here. 7. The Suit- I say just give him the All Star Superman suit, it’s literally perfect as it has the soft blues and reds, but a fabricated texture that still looks like it was handcrafted by Ma Kent but woven with the materials of Krypton. I don’t want his suit to look like body armor, but something comfy and warm. Something you’d wanna hug him in! 8. Let the Authority be the main antagonists! - I don’t think people understand how much of a great opportunity this is really. Considering the Authority are basically the Elite from Superman Vs The Elite, you have an amazing cast of villains who are perfect for the theme of legacy and heroism! You have these guys who believe the world is broken and the definition of hero has evolved into something more cynical but necessary. Meanwhile Clark clashes with this idea, believing it is important not to stoop down to a villain’s level but always try to help. The Authority can challenge Clark both philosophically and physically! They give you an idea of who this Clark is ideologically and some fun action sequences where he gets to throw down!! 9. Let David Corenswet Prove His Worth- Something I’ll always be saddened by with the DCEU is that Henry Cavil never really got the chance to show off his chops as a valid candidate to play Superman. He obviously cared alot about the character and really wanted to do him justice, but was never allowed to show he has what it takes as it just clashed with Snyder’s vision. It felt like two versions of the character were on screen almost. What excites me is how both James and David described their ideal Superman, which is mostly the same! I’m hoping David is giving the freedom and script to not only embody this character, but have fun with Superman! 10. Give Superman An Arc- I know from most of what I’ve said, I honestly made Clark sound like someone who’s already got it together in life and just perfect. But I really don’t want that to be the case! I want this to be a Clark who still makes mistakes, battles with self identity, social anxiety, and maybe even loneliness. Perhaps he comes across certain issues that he can’t punch away such as world hunger or oppression. This could make him feel hopeless and even test his faith, but find a new strength in not just trying to help others, but teaching them to help eachother. He dreams of a world where the people don’t need Superman and can return to loving one another like family. If he can push for that, then this will be his legacy…
When I first seen Hollywood on Netflix first thing I said was damn this guy needs to be Superman he just looks it and his character was just I felt very Clark Kent. Minus all the sex and stuff but just that “Golly” attitude
While I can't wait for Slegacy I wish a massive sequel to superman returns ..Louise son had special powers...and superman clearly told the young kid about a transfer of powers...it's sad the story didn't continue and kate bosworth did great job....superman the movie 1977 was amazing I still recall cinema crowd cheering when he flew up to catch Louis and the chopper..we don't see this anymore...i think it screened 4months....I hope slegacy pulls on our heart strings and some form digital sound expansion of original score it pulls me in no matter what...jay new zealand
i think the one big question is will james gunn use the john williams superman theme ... seems like that will always be the theme most of the general public and a good chunk of superman and or comic fans will only associate with superman on the big screen will gunn go back to the theme or do what the nolan/snyder regime decided and go with a different one when they chose hans zimmer to create a new superman theme with man of steel which imo is really good but again most will always want to associate the john williams theme to the superman character
I think superman should be a little over 2 years in with villians like Metalo, parasite, toyman, live wire and other low tier villians and have villians like lex and braniac as villians for the sequals if they don't do brainac as the first
I want his glasses to also change the way his face looks slightly to other people (like making him look more pudgey) not just slapping them on and no one can tell. I don't want it to actually change his face but more so puts a cloak over it that alters its appearance ever so slightly.
@@matthewphilipp6115 exactly, I think they will go the Christopher Reeve rout. May work with the average person most people don't pay that close attention, and why would they. Although if it's set present day technology would-be an issue, facial recognition. I just hope it's good a DC universe like the MCU use to be would be great.
1. Fumbling Clark (who saves people on accident) 2. The frustrating love triangle 3. The Rockwell Kent family 4. Brainiac 5. Lobo 6. Metallo 7. Parasite 7. Lex and the scale of his operation 8. The Watchtower 9. Superman working with military 10. Hope winning! And “Superman flying really fast saving all the people than smiling for the camera” HISHE lol
This might sound weird, but I really want Kon-El/Conner Kent’s Superboy in this movie. I don’t need him to have a leading role, maybe just a cameo with him and Kara in the Kents Farm. I think that if Batman is starting with a full Bat Family, then Clark should have at least half of a Super Family. I also really like the relationships between Conner and Tim Drale in the comics, so if Conner’s in this movie I’ll be happy. He probably won’t be, but I’d really like it.
I'd like to see a DCU where the heroes dont end every film looking like they just stepped out of the proverbial Telephone Booth. They're supposed to be in these larger than life battles and they dont even get dirty. Destroy the suits, build new ones. (Not just new bat vehicles)
Because of the classic Superman trope where he used to quickly get changed in a telephone booth. Way back before we had cell phones. And it hasn't happened in any film yet, which is my point. Zod and Superman were crashing through buildings and exploding oil tankers in each other's faces. Yet by the end of it they both still looked clean, like they hadn't been fighting for the past 20 minutes
@@hexum7 yes, there definitely was. I believe it happened in Lois & Clark once or twice. But if you really want some good classic golden age Superman entertainment, I highly recommend the 1940s Max Fleischer Superman cartoons. Hands down my favorite Superman, to this day.
The minute you make Clark goofy, silly and light you can forget it! People aren’t going to invest in that long term. They did it with Shazam and 👀! Shazam is known to be a serious character they made him goofy and nope! 👎
Year 2 would be ideal. Maybe Cornswet's Superman has stopped a plane, rescued a few cats (classic stuff he's known for) It be a good balance if Superman is early into his career. Example Superman publicly debuts in say May 2024 (just an example) Superman faces Matalo in say June 2024 and its seen by the citizens of Metropolis and Amanda Waller covers it up so its known locally but to the World at Large he's a growing urban legend. Superman then fights Toyman in the Autumn of 2024 that wa he has a couple battles under his belt but he's still a young, learning hero known to only a few (Waller and a certain world's greatest detective) but only they know and them alone.
I would like to see Superman look up to another hero. He is early enough in his career that he wants to do things like some hero’s and not like others. I would like to see him work with another hero/ take down a villain at the same time/ and that other super references a larger world of heroes. “Your not bad but your no….”
Sub characters like Jimmy Olsen and Lana Lang help flesh out the Metropolis background and backstory for Clark that I feel are necessary. Even having Lois’ sister Lucy and General Lang… having these characters I feel are just as important as the Lex Luthors, Metalos, and Monguls
1. Clark’s Friends, I think all of these movies completely ignore the aspect of Clark being a regular guy that likes to do normal things with his friends such as: Steel, Lana, Jimmy etc.. 2. A fitting music score similar to or heck copy and paste from the animated series 3. Johnathan Kent being more of staple in these films and import to Clark’s development similar to Smallville. That’s all I got rn
In terms of this new reboot, I just want to see individual heroes be introduced one at a time before setting up a team up movie which is what the DCEU failed to do. Sure, if the plan is to already have heroes established as part of the new universe already, maybe at least tease that character before their solo movie comes out but please don't have a repeat of BvS where it's just some league member cameos that don't get their own movie until after the team up. I understand Superman: Legacy is not going to be an origin movie and that's ok. Plenty of Superman media have opted out of the origin story (i.e the Superboy TV Show and Superman & Lois) which completely skipped the origin but at least let you know where Superman came from. But just don't make it a repeat of the DCEU. We need solo films before a team up, otherwise it feels rushed with no real world building nor character development. Just my opinion of course. Plus, it's more and more sounding like this will be a hard reboot, despite what James Gunn has said. I only hope that at some point James Gunn puts the confusion to rest and makes this new universe more clear.
~21:30 I could totally see Gunn opening the movie with a sequence of Superman stopping Vigilante from killing people for jaywalking or something lol. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part
I think the kents should have kyrpto so that there always being protected Definitely lois and clark beginning his relationship is definitely a good start Showing superman do tons if little hero stuff like saving kids, grannies and ect and having fun interactions I don't want luther to be the main badguy but interoducing him wpuld be cool. Show a hopeful superman and i want an iconic theme that goes along with him. Show superman struggle to have time for human relationships.
For lois and Clark relationship I think have the first film them dating and find out he is superman, then in the 2nd have them get married and in the 3rd have a kid
I feel as though that Superman should be no more than Year 2 of Supermaning because if other heroes are out there who have no idea who he is, he should be really new but not like learning small rookie stuff either
What ever way they go with these movies I just hope they focus on superman, batman, flash, wonder woman, aquaman, martian manhunter and shazzan before we start seeing Supergirl and batgirl and bat family. Spend 10 to 15yrs building these boys first
they could do a superman trilogy in the dcu in a full arc. superman legacy could be the beginning of his journey and he deals with a situation in the middle east for part of the movie as we see him return to metropolis to face the main villain who could be mettalo or parasite. lex Luthor could be the villain in the background we see him manipulate the situation in the middle east and metropolis but wont be the main villain of the movie. the authority movie could be next that deals with the origins of the team. the superman vs the authority could be next, and it could be the kingdom come storyline that ends with the authority possibly changing its ways idk. superman origins could be next it could deal with Clark and kal El origin in a different way with lobo or brainiac being the main villain. superman could be aware of lex Luthor's true nature in second movie but has to deal with the intergalactic threat first. there could be a dcu max show that shows the perspective of metropolis through human eyes that is set between the second and third movie. superman annihilation could be next, and it could have superman finally fight lex Luthor in his lexo suit. Clark could tell Lois he's superman in the beginning of the movie. idk .
I want a Superman-centric film. One that includes Superman family characters - friends and foes. Unfortunately Gunn is not going that route and instead including DCU non-Superman characters. The problem is, as Boba mentions, a follow up film is not guaranteed. If Superman characters never before seen on screen are not in SL they may never get another chance to be showcased on the big screen. Clark and Lois and their relationship should not be rushed in the film. Granted a Clark/Lois arc is unlikely in Gunn's DCU but rushing their relationship as Snyder did takes away the magic. The reality is if Superman has a guest appearance in The Authority or another film Lois will not be a factor. That film will have its own supporting characters so SL should not promise something that can't be delivered in a future film. Fans have been waiting for Brainiac or Metallo as the Superman villain forever. Again, if such a villain is not done in SL it may never happen. I want a Superman film - not a DCU ensemble film. If Gunn delivers the latter SL will fail as the fanbase will sit the film out and without the enthusiastic support of a fully engaged Superman fanbase the film is DOA.
I don't care everyone has what they want for the villain. I don't want a small villain if he's been superman for a couple of years. I want brainiac he's been scrapped for cancelled films for too long. That's what I want. Keep up the great content.
Keep it simple, would love to see a more clumsy Clark (I think the new guy should be playing 2 different characters essentially), I dont need much world building or anything extra; I'd rather they focus on Clark and Lois (and Superman), I'd much rather see lower level story with fun action intersperesed. character over spectacle. It could even be set in the past, I think of all the superheroes, Superman would really suit being back in the 30s or 40s.
Well as a huge DC fan I'm solely disappointed and quite frankly depressed at the mess tye brand is in so I hope Gunn can turn it around and make it as great at the mcu was. Otherwise if the brand is sold off again i hope Universal can do it instead.
David Corenswet was Born in 1993 so he would be 30 years old in 2023, 31 years old in 2024 and 32 years old in 2025 so because of that he's in 30s my guess Superman would be late 20s to 30s
My fan cast (some repeat actors, but new universe) Batman - Scott Adkins (but would need to be Batman oriented, little to no Bruce Wayne, mostly just Batman action sequences), Superman - Cavill, Wonder Woman - Gadot, Green Lantern Hal Jordan - Chris Pine, Flash - Grant Gustin, Cyborg - Shemar Moore, Green Arrow - Stephen Amell. Directed by Christopher Nolan but action sequences directed by Zack Snyder. Let the hate begin, lol
Lex, while yes has been used too often as well, does have a justification for his pressence since he is Superman's arch enemy and a legitimately fascinating villain and three dimensional character that acts as the antithesis of everything Superman represents so as long as they use him sparingly and have him more as a puppet master behind the shadows we can finally have the great Lex film adaptation we've all waited far too long for
Funny thing is watching Superman the animated series really gave me a lot of comic book knowledge about Superman I learned about Lana and Perry white and lots of other characters I love it
Here's are my 8 thing i want in new superman
1. Deco Metropolis
2. Interacting with kids
3. World Building
4. The Kent's and krypto the dog
5. Characters Development
6. Fight Scene
7. Clark and Jor-el
8. Quotes in the end credits
I’d like Metropolis to be a blend between Art Deco and Solarpunk
Hear me out:
The movie starts with a black screen and the words “Doomed Planet. Desperate Scientists. Last Hope. Kindly Couple” with the music slowly swelling as those words appear.
Then we are dropped in modern days.

9. banter/rivalry between clark and lois
11. The S on the cape. Also I think it’s truer to reality the Donner Lois (and something that ALWAYS annoyed me) that Lois does not even recognize Clark because she is blinded by Superman.
Hell no to the S on the cape lmao
I love how our name changes from video to video. Bat Family, Kryptonians, ect
Yeah me too ❤
And then a slow transition away from it during a trilogy or something
With Lex Luther I'd like to see the middle and eventual election as president. I feel like his ideals would be better communicated in rallys and debates and see clearly how they contrast Superman's.
I'd like to see a New 52 kind of suit. With the belt and the collar. The collar would certainly make him stand out from previous iterations, and I just like that suit 🤷♂️
That collar sucked . Everything else is fine

I'd take that look any day of the week, twice on Sunday. But hey, if you boys just want want the same old classic suit, then you do you 👍
Good call on Jonathan Kent. Would be nice to have his character live through a few movies
I really like your third want from Legacy as that's a crucial part to Superman & Lois' story together. Whether she be the one to figure it out or he eventually tells her, it's after the confession where their dynamic shifts which I'd really like to see done in the new DCU
Can't wait for Lois & Clark!
here's my theory for the suit in Legacy.
Since James Gunn helped with Brightburn... let's just rip the band-aid off and have Brightburn vs Superman
I think John Boyega should play John Stewart. Hes at the right age to play the character and he's talented enough to be a leading man in a superhero franchise. I feel bad he got screwed over by Disney with the star wars movie. Lanterns could be his big comeback role in a mainstream franchise.
Freaking love him! Was hoping he’d be black manta back then but this is great too!
For the suit, I used to be against trunks but now I really think they should have them. I think they should do something similar to the returns suit but with brighter colors and a bigger emblem
I agree
I agree. Less texture than Cavill, Big S like Reeves with the bold colors of Routh.
I want Tom Welling and Erica Durance as Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van
Lex should be active behind the scenes; like a rich chessmaster, using his wealth to manipulate the world around him. I think that it should take time for Superman to even suspect him being the big bad, as he will be too busy fighting the manipulations that Lex has set into motion. Superman should also be working towards becoming an inspiration for the other heroes; not in a messianic way, but more like the "truth, justice" and whatever way. He wants to be an inspiration to make people better, and does not understand why other vigilantes would not want to do the same.
The black and red symbol looks best imo 👌
“Superman: Brainiac” by Geoff Johns has been cited as an inspiration for the movie, so I do believe Brainiac will be the main villain, and having him as the first alien threat Clark has ever faced and probably having him come to terms with where he came from would really play into how the character originally reflected the experience of Jewish-American immigrants in the 20th century. I definitely hope that comes across in one way or another. Having Clark eventually discover the fortress, or learning about Krypton through Brainiac (In a way similar to the STAS episode “Stolen Memories” and Gene Luen Yang’s “Superman Smashes the Klan”) would be a very powerful story to adapt. Having a Jewish actor play him just adds to that;
2. “Champion of the Oppressed” - I’d really like to see them sprinkle in the golden age element of Superman being a community-based hero. His socialist origins as a defender of the downtrodden would really help define at what point of his career Clark is;
3. “My mother made it for me” - I’d love to see a cloth suit. It bugs me how most suit designs nowadays look like some form of armor. I like having his suit (or at least his cape) be the blankets he was wrapped in as a child. He is wearing the colors of his planet, proudly expressing his heritage through them. I’d love to start with the Fleischer emblem and later transition to the more traditional one after Supergirl enters the scene. I wouldn’t mind if it was basically the Christopher Reeve spandex with a different emblem and a LITTLE bit of texture so it doesn’t look too flat. The trunks are MUST for me. I believe it would help show the audience we are returning to a more earnest kind of version of the character and one we shouldn’t be ashamed of enjoying. Perhaps make them MORE apparent as trunks rather than briefs. I like the “circus strongman” aesthetic and you need something to cut through all the blue;
4. “Mild-Mannered Reporter” - I want some emphasis on Clark as a competent investigative reporter. Grant Morrison’s Action Comics run comes to mind. Maybe a subplot involving Lex Luthor, maybe even Bruno Manheim and Intergang with a minor cameo. But I do think it’s an underplayed angle in most stories;
5. “Superman is what I can do. Clark Kent is who I am” - He was not raised Kal-El. He was not raised Superman. Clark is a dorky, earnest guy from Kansas with a dream to help others. If it wasn’t for the powers, he’d help people as a firefighter. Superman is an extension of Clark, and he appreciates his background as Kal-El, but Clark Kent makes him who he is. Like you said, Tyler Hoechlin nailed that balance and made Clark feel like a real person;
He should be a cut-throat capitalist with some background in science, but still arrogant enough to wear a Kryptonite ring that eventually gives him cancer. He should be VERY handsome and charming, and physically fit. Have a commanding presence and a facade of philanthropy that Lois and Clark can see through. Lex would think of himself as a randian hero of sorts, Nietzsche’s übermensch. And Superman would morally and philosophically oppose that. I also don’t like Lex being from Smallville. Keep him as an old money city person;
7. “The City of Tomorrow” - Metropolis should feel like its own character. Art Deco meets futurism. I see a bit of San Francisco in it instead of the traditional New York angle. Making it into a tech hub, windy but always sunny, “the big apricot”.
8. “The Meteor Capital of the World!” - Smallville should feel like a Norman Rockwell painting. Like it could be stuck in the 1950s. A lot of classic Americana imagery. Drive home Superman as an American Folk hero;
9. “Doomed Planet” - If we do get glimpses of Krypton, I envision it as having a Silver Age-esque vibe. Very Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon Pulp sci-fi. With a modern twist of course;
1. I want no trunks
2. I want brainiac
3. I want jason mamoa lobo
4. I want incredible fight scenes showing why superman is not to be trifled with.
5. Some form of space battle or him on a different planet . Tired of earth being the only place we see superman
6 . Show case all his main powers.. (looking at you ice breath)
7. Great acting
8. Him being the first superhero
9. Be the same damn age as batman 🙄
@@neromusic138 No Cavil's suit is awful. Why does Superman need body armor? He is Superman.
The REAL question we should all be asking: Chest hair or no chest hair?
Amazing Video ❤🤠
Another great video!
I think “Clark” should be played closest to the George Reeves version. George’s version was a solid, hard-nosed reporter. There was absolutely no “stumbin’ and bumblin’” there.
I cannot wait for Superman LEGACY!!!!
I just want Superman to be a boy scout again. Just a happy, optimistic guy who inspires the best in those around him.
smallvile surprisingly created some good lore, the way the fortress came to be and yes the Kent family as a hole, these things should be touched on in the legacy film being as its supposedly based on his early years,
legacy should especially touch on why Clark eventually began to fly and the emphasis on the special connection between Lois and Clark and how important Lois is
I also want Jonathy Kent in movie too ❤
I know superman and lois are attached at the hip in damn near all the stories but just imagine if they werent and you could let him just grow first.
Mix both and you have the best Superman interpretation
(Side note: if given the chance I do believe Cavill could of played the traditional Superman that we all know and love if given the opportunity)
I agree year 3-5 that way we can see him kind of finding his groove but still figuring things out and how to navigate dual lives
Not being able to save his father is a crucial motivator to why Clark became Superman
2) ‘the love triangle’ Lois is amazed by Superman, doesn’t see Clark as a romantic partner, yet.
5) max fleischer superman ‘S’
6) Character development.
I like the idea of ToyMan being like the opening villan, but what about having Mr. Myxlplyx!
Sign me up
3.) different color variations of Kryptonite (Red/Green/Blue mainly)
4.) a revamped version of the Max Fleischer Superman suit.
I want Tyler Hoechlin in DCU
Prefiero no cometas el mismo error de bvs de crear un universo cinematográfico antes de que empiece trata de hacer una buena película
My wish list for Superman Legacy:
1-COMIC ACCURATE CASTING
2-Kara (not Supergirl yet) maybe in an end credit scene. Boba why didn't you include her?
3-Clark and Lois NOT in any romantic relationship yet. They are friends, they feel the chemistry and are on their way
4-Lex Luthor behind the scenes plotting but not the main villain. Clark and Lois know him from their reporting
6-references to Batman and Wonder Woman
7-Character building
8-The Kents still alive, not in flashbacks
9-A lower level super villain as the main antagonist (Toy Man?)
10-Jimmy Olsen as a young photographer and intern
Yess, i love seeing lois and clark as friends before they date
Steve Lombard, Cat Grant, Ron Troupe, Maggie Sawyer, Dan Turpin, Bibbo Bibbowski, Emil Hamilton. Having some fun colorful supporting characters
Also I'd love to see Superman save random people who dont just happen to be part of the story, like one of the scenes i actually liked in Returns was him going through the city saving people from debris and catching th DP globe - even if its just a couple times throughtout Legacy - heck id settle for him saving Eve (maybe Luthor testing his speed)
But honestly just hoping for an awesome movie so we can get more and hopefully not wait too long for a sequel if successful
The trunks are a must and a symbol on the cape
Speaking of beautiful-
Gunn as Wonder Dog. Safran as Mr Mxyzptlk. Zaslav as Granny Goodness.
i think the one big question is will james gunn use the john williams superman theme ... seems like that will always be the theme most of the general public and a good chunk of superman and or comic fans will only associate with superman on the big screen
will gunn go back to the theme or do what the nolan/snyder regime decided and go with a different one when they chose hans zimmer to create a new superman theme with man of steel which imo is really good but again most will always want to associate the john williams theme to the superman character
I think superman should be a little over 2 years in with villians like Metalo, parasite, toyman, live wire and other low tier villians and have villians like lex and braniac as villians for the sequals if they don't do brainac as the first
Good list. I’m a huge fan of Tyler Hoechlin’s Clark.
I would want to see some explanation of how he hides his secret identity. One with Lois but even photos.
1. Fumbling Clark (who saves people on accident)
2. The frustrating love triangle
3. The Rockwell Kent family
4. Brainiac
5. Lobo
6. Metallo
7. Parasite
7. Lex and the scale of his operation
8. The Watchtower
9. Superman working with military
10. Hope winning! And “Superman flying really fast saving all the people than smiling for the camera” HISHE lol
I want Superman to be more detective and trying to make hope around the world by solving some probleme
What DC film did that happen?
I’m right there with you! I’d love to see more of a goofy Clark Kent!
Braniac, Braniac, Braniac! I dont know how many times i have to say it. We've already seen four iterations of Luther. Enough!😮😮😮
Que bueno que mencionaste a mongul mucha gente se olvida de el
1. Clark’s Friends, I think all of these movies completely ignore the aspect of Clark being a regular guy that likes to do normal things with his friends such as: Steel, Lana, Jimmy etc..
2. A fitting music score similar to or heck copy and paste from the animated series
3. Johnathan Kent being more of staple in these films and import to Clark’s development similar to Smallville.
That’s all I got rn
Great Video!
I use to hate that they took away the trunks but now I’m not so sure I want them back maybe just a belt would be a good in between
In terms of this new reboot, I just want to see individual heroes be introduced one at a time before setting up a team up movie which is what the DCEU failed to do.
~21:30
I could totally see Gunn opening the movie with a sequence of Superman stopping Vigilante from killing people for jaywalking or something lol.
Maybe that’s just wishful thinking on my part
Boba where is your doom patrol love I've missed your reviews and we are on the last episodes
for preference too is with no trunks, but for it can save it for the sequel movie. for first time, with trunks it's okay
Great video Boba!
Thanks!
I think the kents should have kyrpto so that there always being protected
Definitely lois and clark beginning his relationship is definitely a good start
Showing superman do tons if little hero stuff like saving kids, grannies and ect and having fun interactions
I don't want luther to be the main badguy but interoducing him wpuld be cool.
Show a hopeful superman and i want an iconic theme that goes along with him.
Show superman struggle to have time for human relationships.
If Superman is in his early 30s, he's been doing it for more than 3 years.
Let it go, dude. He's been Superman for at least 5 years.
Start with a relatively seasoned Superman. More is not better for one movie, unless flashbacks or flashback type teasers are used.
I want the knightmare eventually it was just too cool looking
Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore would be perfect Mama and Papa Kent!
I agree, love the ideas
What ever way they go with these movies I just hope they focus on superman, batman, flash, wonder woman, aquaman, martian manhunter and shazzan before we start seeing Supergirl and batgirl and bat family. Spend 10 to 15yrs building these boys first
And focus on one lantern before we get multiple lantern s
Just Hoping The MOVIE Has "Guts and Bravery and Meaning."
they could do a superman trilogy in the dcu in a full arc.
superman legacy could be the beginning of his journey and he deals with a situation in the middle east for part of the movie as we see him return to metropolis to face the main villain who could be mettalo or parasite.
lex Luthor could be the villain in the background we see him manipulate the situation in the middle east and metropolis but wont be the main villain of the movie.
the authority movie could be next that deals with the origins of the team.
the superman vs the authority could be next, and it could be the kingdom come storyline that ends with the authority possibly changing its ways idk.
superman origins could be next it could deal with Clark and kal El origin in a different way with lobo or brainiac being the main villain.
superman could be aware of lex Luthor's true nature in second movie but has to deal with the intergalactic threat first.
there could be a dcu max show that shows the perspective of metropolis through human eyes that is set between the second and third movie.
superman annihilation could be next, and it could have superman finally fight lex Luthor in his lexo suit.
You guys already have superman films throughout so you saying is DOA when we having even freaking seen it yet it make no sense at all 🤦
I don't care everyone has what they want for the villain. I don't want a small villain if he's been superman for a couple of years. I want brainiac he's been scrapped for cancelled films for too long. That's what I want. Keep up the great content.
I would love to see either superboy: Connor or Jon
Keep it simple, would love to see a more clumsy Clark (I think the new guy should be playing 2 different characters essentially), I dont need much world building or anything extra; I'd rather they focus on Clark and Lois (and Superman), I'd much rather see lower level story with fun action intersperesed. character over spectacle. It could even be set in the past, I think of all the superheroes, Superman would really suit being back in the 30s or 40s.
Good points.
I would like Lobo to the villan for Superman Legacy.
Well as a huge DC fan I'm solely disappointed and quite frankly depressed at the mess tye brand is in so I hope Gunn can turn it around and make it as great at the mcu was.
Otherwise if the brand is sold off again i hope Universal can do it instead.
Boba I can absolutley see your Metamorpho theory being true that he will get his origin and be an antagonist at first
David Corenswet was Born in 1993 so he would be 30 years old in 2023, 31 years old in 2024 and 32 years old in 2025 so because of that he's in 30s my guess Superman would be late 20s to 30s
Sounds shit tbh.
