I know from talking to folks out here that other people have felt the same way when they were involved with hunting and slaughter from a young age and you can see the gears turn behind their eyes when they suck it back up and repress it. We're not born killers, it's something we learn and its something we can un-learn, but the first step is acknowledging that the end of slaughter is the right trajectory. p.s. the alien argument is flawed, it is not considered that we only protect our species because everyone is afraid that it could also affect him or his loved ones. As soon as we talk about morality in other living beings, the scope of application to us and our loved ones is excluded, so it will always be looked at differently. I'm not saying it's justified, but in the end people don't care about everyone except themselves and their loved ones, and that's only going to change when it comes to a regulation that could be a danger to them. In scenarios, you can always pretend "how about it affects us", but there will never be legilatives that are directed against us. That is why one refuses to allow such a train of thought for an evaluation. sry when there r mistakes, not my nativ language
Then apply exactly what you just said to the analogy to get rid of the assymmetry and see if you still think it's flawed. Essentially: what if aliens came and only ate people who were _not_ your loved ones? Would that make it okay?
Yo VG! It depends on the diet and the person's tolerance for it. My partner and I are both vegan and both have differing degrees of gluten intolerance. If either of us eat gluten it makes our gas and faeces smell absolutely foul. But if we don't eat any gluten and eat lots of fruit and green leafy vegetables, our gas and faeces are almost odourless. Generally I do think our meat-eating friends and family have far worse smelling gas and poops than us, but I don't think it's purely because of the meat. I think their diets are generally worse than ours. They don't eat anywhere near enough fibre or fresh fruit and veg.

However, with the burden of experience I dare say that a good vegan diet makes stronger in a more sustainable way, it makes stronger in the long run. Morality is objective. This will be recognized by AGI even if most humans don’t recognize what morality is yet. Not dictated by a God, but by the fact that well-being is the objective measure of our subjective experiences. The future is vegan, it’s just a matter of how long it will take us and whether it’s our human form who will become moral. Some of you are already there, but most of us have to be for real change. Or the few at the top.
Morality isn't objective, just because every sentient being strives for well-being, doesn't mean that every sentient being morally thinks that it isn't okay to harm other sentient beings.
@@denixos what you describe is people being wrong because they have incomplete information. That is not an argument against moral realism, just evidence that people can be wrong. That’s a bit obvious don’t you think? Morality is a two sided equation. The calculation is well-being and the variables (entities preferences) are subjective. That is why there is such confusion. Morality is objective but described by subjectivity. Well-being is the goal that means different things for each person. It’s called conditional logic. A dualistic, dynamic definition. Remember morality is a reference to others. Your own well-being is not part of the equation. Personal well-being is naturally achieved through the process of becoming. But that is harder.
@@machineelf9459 Nothing you've written suggests that morality is objective. Hitler made a holocaust and you would have never convinced him that what he is doing is wrong. He was acting right in his moral belief system, he knew that he was harming, torturing and murdering, he did it despite having this knowledge, almost every rapist and murderer is aware of that they're harming their victim in some sort of way, which is why they can't justify doing it referencing to their victims morally, but they will never see any issue with doing what they're doing because they're acting in accordance to their own moral beliefs. That's why almost all murderers are given life sentences because the chance that they will continue to murder once they're free is 100%. Objective means in absence of a mind, when you ask a rapist if it is moral to rape, he will say yes, someone who is against rape will say no. None of these 2 opinions are valid when there is no mind. Therefore morality is subjective.
@@denixos the point is well-being is the metric that is objective. All beings want to improve their well-being. But the mistake is thinking morality is about yourself. Morality is about how you treat others. Others are really just yourself anyway outside of time. We are only temporarily separate entities. Also you need to recognize that Hitlers preferences and beliefs are also shaped by information. Two people with the same information in totality are the same person only separated spatially. Yes, more information in Hitlers life would have stopped him.

Vegan Gains, when are you going to take on Bart Kay in a debate about vegan diet vs carnivore diet - health outcomes?
Pretty sure Bart Kay is just a troll, would be a waste of time/purely for entertainment
@@Nanashi-sz6wc Bart has credentials, definitely not a troll
@@ryanwellington7493Bart doesn't have credentials. He's a charlatan that was kicked out of academia for being an unreasonable nut job. And he can't handle debates and rage quits while appealing to his apparent authority on a subject he can't understand.
Richard has said many times he won't debate him because Bart is a massive wuss, disrespectful and disingenuous because he dox's people. So he won't debate someone that is so unreasonable that they'd do that to someone over a disagreement on a nutrition debate.
@@ryanwellington7493 lmao
Extremely well handled. I agree that Kolton seemed he was possibly biting the bullet on the superior species topic in a disingenuous way, and when he asked if you've actually been to farms and it turned to silence when you calmly said yes I chuckled from a very personal place as I've encountered the same argument line in Australia with people just assuming I'm not okay with farming animals because I haven't seen it when the inverse is true and what I saw on farms living 500km inland in rural Aus didn't sit right with me from a young age. Was groomed into being a killer and shooting kangaroos by my grandad (who I don't hold anything against btw) using the same unsatisfying talking points I hear repeated over and over again as a vegan. I know from talking to folks out here that other people have felt the same way when they were involved with hunting and slaughter from a young age and you can see the gears turn behind their eyes when they suck it back up and repress it. We're not born killers, it's something we learn and its something we can un-learn, but the first step is acknowledging that the end of slaughter is the right trajectory.
p.s. I think those two got a bit snagged on the wild animals topic because they didn't realize Vegan Gains was talking in star trek terms as possible solutions in a wold that has already dealt with human rights and expanded animal rights to the purview of domestic animals. Nothing seems practical to implement until the steps before it have been implemented and it's kinda fine for people to disagree with it as long as they help us get behind ending the industry because we'll all likely be dead before anything resembling an artificial habitat can actualize
Bro I don't think you should feed your animals vegan diets a nature they need to eat animals human beings do not at least spare them and allow them to eat animals
Were you paying attention at all?
So, pet food cooks all the nutrients that it receives from meat and then they replace it with synthetic ingredients. He's suggesting to replace it with plant protein etc, instead.
@@dawn8542 yeah cats and dogs are not supposed to eat plants, their bodies are designed for digesting animal proteins he said he feeds his cats vegan diets that's not good let the cat decide at least
@@AustenMathison So your solution is to feed dogs and cats the bodies of countless slaughtered animals because that's the more ethical thing to do? Get a clue.
At the end of the day the “carnivore diet” is dumb.. not only is it unhealthy it’s extremely selfish and did I mention dumb
I think a good question would be, what would it take for you to stop doing what you enjoy and what you don't get punished for. I think immediate danger would be the only true answer. Sad but probably the reality for most people.. Old ppl are fkted, only hope in children. but they get fked by there parents, damn :)

He eats about a gram of protein for each pound he weighs.

VG you should have mentioned Novak Djokovic as hes almost entirely plant based and the goat of tennis
Because he's an elite level tennis player regardless of being at optimal health, he would have been even better on meat. He also tore up his meniscus in his knee and still won, you think that gave him an advantage too? 😂 Funny thing is he probably would have avoided that injury completely if he was animal based as vegan diets increase risk of sarcopenia, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
@@ryanwellington7493 40:14 in the video, they talk about sarcopenia and other elderly diseases, and from large perspective cohorts studies there's no difference as long as protein is equated. Same with osteoporosis if BMI is equated (vegans have the lowest on BMI average). Vegans probably have significantly less risk of osteoathritis too since they have less inflammation (lowest amounts of CRP, key indicator of inflammation).
djokovic is not almost entirely vegan, he IS vegan, 100%.
@@ryanwellington7493 djokovic was a meat eater before becoming vegan, do you think he himself is not the best judge of his abilities on each particular diet?

these people make even vegan gains look energetic. Confirmation bias here, but taking enough electrolytes is pretty good (check out LMNT propaganda). I feel like the energetic child which does what it fancies.
Ive swapped Pepsi for those Olipop sodas What's your take on em good or bad?
the alien argument is flawed, it is not considered that we only protect our species because everyone is afraid that it could also affect him or his loved ones.
I think he's maintaining a consistent position, even if it's a little gross.
Yo VG!
I know this is a long shot and youre probably not going to respond to this but maybe some of your viewers will - here goes:
Ive started working out a lot and yeah.. mainly get my protein from either meat or shakes. Im starting to get tired of eating chicken, beef, tuna and all the other sources of protein. I was wondering, since youre vegan, what plant based protein source do you use the most? Im genuinely interested.
Tempeh, tofu, seitan, beans, lentils, nuts, nutritional yeast, mock meats, etc.
Aren’t you the guy who forces their carnivorous cat to be vegan? Guys look up the tofu lion from Futurama.

"An alien species invading and killing us would not matter to me" sure dude. I would not have kept going and just quit the call ngl.
Do vegans poo / farts smell better or worse then people who eat meat? This is a genuine question
I only watched the mass effect andromeda video you posted how bad the quality was and remember why cos everytime you just rude to everyone who you bring on or show. Vegan gains anger. Kinda like the Muslim ppl just shoving their culture down your throat

Let's fucking goooooo
I can understand the appeal of superheavy meat diets for dudes totally into strength training. These kinds of diets make you stronger and bigger faster. However, with the burden of experience I dare say that a good vegan diet makes stronger in a more sustainable way, it makes stronger in the long run. If we look at 10+ years the one on a legit vegan diet will still be making gains, while the heavy meat dieter peaked long ago.

Yes, more information in Hitlers life would have stopped him.

one of the GOATS of tennis, novak djokovic, is vegan. one of the GOATS of women's tennis, venus williams, is vegan (i believe her sister, too). one of the GOATS of formula 1, lewis hamilton, is vegan. ex mister universe, barny du plessis, is vegan. former boxing champion, david haye, is vegan. richard, you should learn these important facts before you go and debate meatards.
David haye eats meat these days. I dont think serena williams is vegan, could be wrong but she used to talk about occasionally eating ice cream and didnt sound like it was plant based. not that any sane person would argue she derived benefit from that. djocovic doesnt even like the label vegan, so lets just say these people are plant based (at best)
@@Andrew-yf3lu david haye was spotted (and reported in a single tabloid paper) eating something resembling chicken wings (might as well have been fake chicken), but i couldn't find any records anywhere of him admitting he's no longer vegan. do you have a link to prove otherwise? regardless, there are plenty other boxers (nate diaz, bryant jennings) athletes and body builders who are vegan. djokovic might not use the vegan label but he sure owns a vegan restaurant in monaco.
