Not surprisingly, using the lyrics from "aint no rest for the wicked" sounds absolutely amazing with this song. all the breaks and everything just fits perfectly. not gonna lie, i would kill if someone with talent in these areas could make a mashup of this and "aint no rest for the wicked".
This song just holds something heavy to it... i can't explain it, but there's something so strong about this whole song... something that literally holds ten thousand pounds and let's you have every last pound of it from the start.
+Ben Latham It's absolutely worth your time. I was in your boat until a couple days ago. Now I wonder why it took me so long to discover such an amazing game
I had played the Steam version a few times, but I'm more of a pick up and play kinda guy... The iOS ports of Bastion and Dust: An Elysian Tail have been filling my time lately. Crushed all the proving grounds, save for the Fire Bellows. Cool concept, I just can't figure a good way to use it.
Have you played it by now? You should also play Transistor and Hades. Both are definitely worth it. Pyre too is not bad but it's basically a mythical basketball game so people may not like it.
I was watching a borderlands live stream and the person I was watching puts music in his live stream, and this is amazing walking around in a endless desert
Love the sound of this song. Just sounds like a song that would play when you're walking down a street by yourself and your about to do something either incredibly stupid, brave, or right.
Never played this game, but this song is one of the greatest i've ever heard. I mean, western, electric guitar and an awesome beat combined? Glorious! Makes me think of some teenagers stuck in the Wild West or something.
I got to say there was nothing quite as awesome when this song kicked off for the first time. DAMN this game was incredible long live Supergiant Games Studio!
Bastion plays well, really nice stylised graphics. the music is outstanding, really sets the mood. The narrator finishes everything off. It has a fantastic atmosphere, really draws you in.
+That random guy from NISLT's comment section any representation of life or something man made is art under concept this my friend, is a master piece thats what it is
Damn. I was so impressed by the overall experience of playing this game that I never really sat back and realized how great the soundtrack was. I mean, I knew the music was good, and Zia's song stuck with me. But wow -- every single track is great. I was going to give it a few months before I hit "New Game Plus," but I'm going to go do it right as soon as I finish listening to the whole soundtrack. So much love went into this game! I'm honestly grateful to the developers.
I just realized why I love this song so much. It strikes so many nerves of nostalgia for me from playing Spyro the Dragon as a little kid, but it still has a great modern feel to it.
Music's from Bastion. A video game by Supergiant Games about a boy who wants to rebuild a broken world. The narration and art are pretty damn good. I'd recommend a purchase and a play through. You can find it on Steam.
The kid opens an internet browser, only knowing what awaits him. He navigates to a video streaming site by the name of 'TH-cam'. He misses the music, the songs old folks used to play back in the old days of the Bastion. And for that one moment in his life he relives an old memory...
Super late reply, but I was thinking of Rayman too! Rayman 3 would fit this kinda beat-happy country, though the first thing that came to mind for me was the Bog where you find Count Razoff. Had to look that up to remember who the heck that guy was called, I was so young when I played it.
@timvstim1 you took the words right out of my mouth... But that's not a bad thing really... I mean that's how GOOD this game is to immerse you so deeply, that you forget it comes bundled with a haunting and a can't-stop-listening-to soundtrack...
Now this one is more to my liking when I play this song on the guitar ,loved the slow song version but this is great for improvisation and backingtrack to build something on your own.I am stunned about how great the music are in games, and has been since the old 8 bit melodies in most games and oldschool teams that should be remade by professional studio musicians or instrumental guitaristst,dj's etc.. Some of the cracks for softwares usto have amazing 8 bit music by thhe same old amiga legends.
“This reminds me of Firefly, this reminds me of Borderlands, this reminds me of Led Zeppelin, this reminds me of...” You know what? This song reminds me of Bastion and why the game itself was really good! That’s all!
I played this game with my friend. We were on two chairs, switching whenever we died. At the start of this level, our legs were happy and joyful. After, well, pain. Just. Pain. Never had my legs hurt so much before in my life.
Zia's Kaylee. She's the love able adorable kid character who bad things happen to a whole bunch. Kid's River, he's a fuckin' death machine, but dude's outta control too. Plus, dat accuracy. The Narrator's Book, he's the old guy with a history to do with the highly military government. The robot bull you get is Jane. BASTION CONFIRMED AS FIREFLY SEASON 2
@JustFable I love how there are separate comments for different loadouts. My favorite? Calamity Cannon and Galleon Mortar "Oh come on now. That's just overkill." XD
Sittin' in the roads in what's left of the city Sittin in the roads of an age gone by Sittin' in the roads in what's left of the city No one left to say goodbye.
I can't take this anymore! I have to own the soundtrack, i can't go another second without paying a little money for one of the best soundtracks, to a game, ever !
This seems to be a good year for indie game soundtracks. Frozen Synapse also has an amazing soundtrack, although in a very different style to this one.
It sure has some amazing music, that's for sure, and I've seen minimal gameplay in the past. Something I might look into for the future for sure. could be a good lets play. Especially if I recorded it without having played it before.
he actually still is a kid and his tours was scouting, I'd say mid to late puberty. but the setting a bit medieval and kids were considered "adults" on an earlier age
Kid searches TH-cam not knowing what he's looking for...
Gets caught up in sweet memories...
Suddenly, all internal dialogue is in Rucks voice
And then... he falls to his death.... Im just foolin'
BONK
"Know how many times the kid nearly fell off that cart?
'Bout six times."
"Not even once"
Not surprisingly, using the lyrics from "aint no rest for the wicked" sounds absolutely amazing with this song. all the breaks and everything just fits perfectly. not gonna lie, i would kill if someone with talent in these areas could make a mashup of this and "aint no rest for the wicked".
I'll try to give it a whirl
"Sometimes a pike just ain't enough. That's what the Carbine's for."
"Walk by a Kid with a machete and a mortar, you just keep on walking."
OK now that’s just plain overkill. I mean come on.
Kid don't need no fancy tools.
Is that a game, because if it is, I WANT TO OLAY IT
@@niktech8129 Yes it is, and a freaking great game at it!
Kid's rockin' out was stopped for a spell by the Comment Calamity.
Ain't a problem, though. Gramophone's still workin' fine.
Best comment on here by far
It's been years since I heard this. Great OST from Bastion thanks for uploading.
Now this is some banjo work that i can truly appreciate, the people who did the music for this game are just straight up talented.
One of the best videogame soundtrack ever made right here.. Thank you so much for the funky tunes!
Bastion sent me here.
...oh wait.
According to Supergiant's website, Acoustic Frontier Trip-hop is what the composer called it.
Xexal Number I the composer has a name you know
Late as hell I know but stuff like this needs to just be categorized as Space Western
@@Sellipsis apocalyptic western maybe?
Know how Caelondia became the richest city in the world? Two words: Point Lemaign.
I LOVE that bit!!
This song just holds something heavy to it... i can't explain it, but there's something so strong about this whole song... something that literally holds ten thousand pounds and let's you have every last pound of it from the start.
I haven't played Bastion but I must say it has an amazing soundtrack.
+Ben Latham You should play it. It's definitely worth it.

+the bonesauce that's funny because it was the easiest one for me. spin in a quick circle and get all of the birds really quick
Have you played it by now? You should also play Transistor and Hades. Both are definitely worth it. Pyre too is not bad but it's basically a mythical basketball game so people may not like it.
Taught myself how to read and play tabs just to play this song. Holy hell, they're easier than they looked.
It just doesn't sound right without the *BOOM* of the carbine...
Kid pulls out a six-string...
Starts playing a tune...
Esteban Garcia It's called a guitar, dumbass!
I was watching a borderlands live stream and the person I was watching puts music in his live stream, and this is amazing walking around in a endless desert
Not only did Darren Korb make ALL of the music in bastion, he also made ALL of the sound effects / ambiance.
Y'know, now that you mention it, it does.
I haven't played the game in at least 5 years and I still come back to the music from time to time. Anyone else? This artist is very very talented.
Not only is it still there. It still works.
binning uf isek
Love the sound of this song. Just sounds like a song that would play when you're walking down a street by yourself and your about to do something either incredibly stupid, brave, or right.
Nice going straight to my western playlist.
"Kid's loaded down with some of Caelondia's finest firearms."
Never played this game, but this song is one of the greatest i've ever heard.
I mean, western, electric guitar and an awesome beat combined? Glorious!

Even Kid didn't know Kid was a dancer.
I got to say there was nothing quite as awesome when this song kicked off for the first time. DAMN this game was incredible long live Supergiant Games Studio!
Bastion, by far has the best soundtracks and music I have ever heard in a game
I've come from the future to say - you have a lot more Darren Korb to look forward to.
And if you already have? Even better.
This is definitely the song I always had playing on the Gramophone. So good! This game is such a fantastic piece in general.
It's been three months since I last played this game... I still come here daily :)
Bastion plays well, really nice stylised graphics. the music is outstanding, really sets the mood. The narrator finishes everything off. It has a fantastic atmosphere, really draws you in.
this always gives me a smile
they do really good at making this feel like a western
This my friends... is art

+That random guy from NISLT's comment section Can't argue with that. :3
*pins Squidward nose on it* NOW it is true art
Kid plays an old memory of his, still as epic as when he first heard it.
I haven't played Bastion in months yet I can still recognize what point in the game this tune is from.
This is awesome man, thanks for the uploads!

Simply mentioning Bastion and Firefly together broke my awesometer.
I like how this Track has a Western esthetic to it and it would definitely be a potential Theme for Wildwheel from Transformers Cyberverse.
I just realized why I love this song so much. It strikes so many nerves of nostalgia for me from playing Spyro the Dragon as a little kid, but it still has a great modern feel to it.
Listening to this song on a headset with Dolby 5.1 is like listening to pure distilled happiness in audio form.
Music's from Bastion. A video game by Supergiant Games about a boy who wants to rebuild a broken world. The narration and art are pretty damn good. I'd recommend a purchase and a play through. You can find it on Steam.
I love how the melody for this song is derived from Build That Wall (or vice versa)
After getting back into Trigun I could easily hear this in there or vice versa.
Bastion has to be one of the most stylish games to come out in years. Absolutely wonderful game!
Why the hell did i read this in bastion narrator's voice..?? EPIC voice..
I love bastion
The kid opens an internet browser, only knowing what awaits him.
He navigates to a video streaming site by the name of 'TH-cam'.
He misses the music, the songs old folks used to play back in the old days of the Bastion.

Bastion's soundtrack does indeed sound like what would happen if you gave Captain Reynolds a hammer.
If there's ever another 3D Rayman game, I hope it's got music like this.
Super late reply, but I was thinking of Rayman too! Rayman 3 would fit this kinda beat-happy country, though the first thing that came to mind for me was the Bog where you find Count Razoff. Had to look that up to remember who the heck that guy was called, I was so young when I played it.

Further credence to why harmonica, mandolin and slide are the three best things in music, ever.
This soundtrack is just simply genius....
Amazing, amazing song. Amazing game.
This song is used in the strangers "who know where" bit too it is awesome
I haven't played it, but I just bought it for my Xbox queue, so I'll get to play it after the trip. The music is awesome.
This song really puts you in the mood for smashing things.
Everything about this is perfect
I have this on loop. best score of the game.
“This reminds me of Firefly, this reminds me of Borderlands, this reminds me of Led Zeppelin, this reminds me of...”
You know what? This song reminds me of Bastion and why the game itself was really good! That’s all!
This somehow reminds me of the Mythbusters.
I've got a Trigun feel.
thank you I this would have bothered me to the end this song has an amazing Badlands feel
Same here!!
never ever seen gameplay of this game but the soundtrack is f-ing awesome
The soundtrack is what got me into this awesome game.
Reminds me of the Firefly series soundtrack :D
Every time I listen in, I feel SO AWESOME O/
I played this game with my friend. We were on two chairs, switching whenever we died. At the start of this level, our legs were happy and joyful. After, well, pain. Just. Pain. Never had my legs hurt so much before in my life.
Zulf always reminded me of Simon Tam from Firefly for some reason.
I kinda see that...

i wanna watch a gif of a challenger loco chugging along with this playing on in the background
I've been looking for this song for 2 years after hearing it on a modded Fallout Dust playthrough. I had to use AHA Music to find it.
That and Bastion has an amazing soundtrack

Awesome soundtrack. Amazing game.
The kid exhales every last breath of wind, last set last rep.... Finish strong
oh love this game and love the soundtrack :D
This seems to be a good year for indie game soundtracks. Frozen Synapse also has an amazing soundtrack, although in a very different style to this one.
I agree, he was working on the wall twice, and the second time he was there for 5 years so he must be early twenties
The chance of someone seeing this is slim, but if you don't own Bastion yet, it's currently on sale on steam for 3.49€.
Play it you will love it :D especially the moment this is played.
Wow, this is really, really good.
"Kid just rages for a while"
I sense a old west duel about to start. (draws pistol) Heh, bring it on...
"you want to survive in the wild? pack a pair of slinger pistols and a machete"

Is it HIGH NOON?
either that or some saloon beatdown
This is the only game, where immediately after beating it, I rushed to my computer and ordered the soundtrack, this will be hard to top for me.
It sure has some amazing music, that's for sure, and I've seen minimal gameplay in the past. Something I might look into for the future for sure. could be a good lets play. Especially if I recorded it without having played it before.
The kid's been pressin that button for as long as I can remember. 'Don't think even he knows if hes ever gonna stop.
Propably the most badass song ever made
