    They are 72 and 74 years old !! Most of the audience was not born when these songs were composed ! It is amazing that they can still perform on stage.

    This was the best show I've seen since The Beatles broke up. They were magic. They wrote the best songs that ever will be. Paul and Ringo back together at last! Awesome. There are no words to express what The Beatles mean to me. They defined my entire generation. The Greatest!

      I'm just recently 15-I am a beatles obsessed freak. 5 years after the beatles reunion, though! 😄
      Music today... I seriously wanted to cry when I hear the hip hop on the bus... Soulless untalented crap just made for money. The Beatles wouldn't reunite even when offered 50K dollars...Paul is the richest mucisoa never and I'm sure he knows he can't sing like he used to- still goes out and kicks a$$ on concerts just for us.

      Damon Blevins Paul's voice isn't always bad. When he sings on tour he sounds realllllly good still. But on here, he sounds nothing like he used to. I think he needs a few hours to warm up. Just look at a video from his out there tour. He sings like he did 20 years ago there.

    to anyone saying Paul's voice didn't sound as good as Ringo's....Ringo's vocal part was written for his voice, which has very, very limited range. He sounds the same, yes, but its not a hard song to sing. Sgt Pepper is a hell of a tune to pull off, and Paul does sound older for sure...but damn can he still hit those notes

    True Beatles fans know that the remaining two of the Fab Four are "getting on a bit" for a pop arena, and that yes, their voices may well now reflect their ages to some obvious degree. But older, true Beatles fans also know that about themselves, and can celebrate the earlier arrival of the undisputed [by sane people] greatest band of all time; and that that arrival also came at the beginning of a period of new hope in ourselves, our lives and the future. The soundtrack to this new sense of hope was comprised of many new, now iconic bands, but non so prolific in that "soundtrack of life" as The Beatles. Macca particularly, has proved himself to be one of the greatest composers, musicians and singers of all time, and in very many awarded instances. True Beatles fans are saddened by those with the very wish to find fault in age and experience - because that is symptomatic of the thing that will destroy, and maybe already has destroyed the sense of hope for many, that came with, coincidentally or otherwise The Beatles.

Thanks for posting - it is fun to see them perform the song written specifically for Ringo Starr (as he cannot sing like McCartney or Lennon or Harrison).

      mind you Paul's got further to fall in the vocal arena, no offence meant to Ringo there but that's a fact

    • @essessessesq
      @essessessesq 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      GreenshieldKnight Very true, Paul once had a vocal range similar to Elvis, in that he had a number of different excellent "voices" he could use, for ballads, rock screamers, country, pop...now he just sounds a bit strained....whereas Ringo still has the same distinctive yet rather ordinary voice.

    • @Harvester236
      @Harvester236 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's because Ringo always sang baritone so it has never damaged his vocal cords. Paul has spent 72 years screaming and wailing the highest notes which, although it worked in his prime, has completely damaged his voice now he's older. He ought to train himself to sing properly again with warm-up exercises or just lower the key of each song because this is just embarassing.

    I hate to brag but luckily I saw this live and the Grammy awards show too! As well as George when I was 15 near L.A. at the Forum; Ringo on his first two tours and Paul seven 7 times!
    Even if Paul & Ringo weren't at the Grammies awards show (in addition to this tribute special) beating even The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, and two or three other very significant groups, or artists to win in their category making the awards show by far and away the best Grammy show ever! You see the Grammies used to suck really bad for years, since they used to ignore so many amazing bands, while honoring a lot of dippy stuff that can't hold up over the long haul like of course The Beatles have and will forever; such that The Grammies eventually had to instead make up for this by giving instead lifetime achievment awards to like among others for example; The Allman Brothers Band and so on!
    I mean with among several others, Carol King, Lang Lang playing with Metallica; Willie Nelson, Merl Haggard & Kris Kristofferson, and even most of the younger artists were actually good (with one or two exceptions that still sucked at much as ever); those that could indeed actually play an instrument live! Like Justin Timberlake for instance, who I realized I had to admit after seeing him on Saturday Night Live several times that he wasn't just as I originally figured; nothing but a two bit, dippy fly by night type, not worth remembering!
    Besides, the ending with Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac playing with a combination of Nine Inch Nails & another band (the name of which I can't recall); having Black Sabbath get up there to say that The Beatles are the greatest! Given you see; they were supposed to be the antithesis of The Beatles, coming from that industrial town of Birmingham in Northern England etc.
