  • Today we learn how to make a simple picture frame inside of fusion 360. Fusion 360 for woodworking projects is still my favorite modeling software to get the job done.
In the video, you can see I make quick work of creating a picture frame. With fusion 360 having the ability to set parameters makes it super powerful. Although for this project I didn't happen to use any parameters, you can see the bookshelf project where I used them quite heavily.

Thanks for this video! I'm looking to 3-D Print miniature picture frames with no Fusion 360 experience so this was so helpful!

This was really helpful. Thank you. I wonder, i tried this with the idea that the glass size was fixed at 11x16, so the rabbets would need to be an 1/8 inch wider and taller while not going over an inch wide on the frame. I got stuck though and couldn't make the fixed size glass fit in the rabbets.

Cool video. The thing I didn’t understand is how this design makes the front glass not to fall?

Thank you for the comment. So glass would set in the rabbet and the backing material would hold it in place. Backing material is normally constructed of thick card stock like material. What holds the backing material is half turn clip. This can be found on just about all picture frames. Thanks again for the comment.

Got it) simple and cool. I will try to use cnc and sheet of painted laminated plywood to make numerous frames of different sizes. Should be easier than standard woodworking procedures.
