Johnny no one could have done it better than Clarence himself, Thank you my brother very well done, I'm writing this with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😆😆
Michael Antunes has been one of my biggest influences as a saxophonist. I could hear his passion through that horn and wanted to play like him when I grew up. A beautiful tribute to another phenomenal musician in Clarence Clemmons, another huge influence on my style. Thank you for capturing this moment.
Love these guy, an AWESOME band & under appreciated, everyone please show them so love, for there music & the sound tracks to two awesome movies EDDY AND THE CRUISERS!!!!!!!!!
I can't help but smile every time I hear this song!! And while I love every aspect of it, Tune's solo grabs my heart & soul each and every time!! Thank You for that wonderful tribute to Clarence Clemons at the end, it was PRICELESS!! Wow!! Tssssss......
These cats are still out there touring, kicking ass and not taking prisoners! 40+years and still rock no roll relevant kids! Check out their LIVE shows near you or in Rho-Diland this summer! Request this song too, lol Cheers JC&BBB
Love the saxophone & Clarence Clemens was the greatest saxophonist. RIP This my fav song by Cafferty & I believe the sax player was featured in THE MOVIE
I can't help but smile every time I hear this song!! And while I love every aspect of it, Tune's solo grabs my heart & soul each and every time!! Tssssss......
best sax part in a rock & roll song and the close out piano riff is killer. This is jam session raw type recording. who cares, if you want the studio sound, get the sound track or the movie...
I met "Tunes", Pat Lupo, and a couple others of Beaver Brown after a show in Raleigh (Gees, 1985..?). Great guys. Check out EDDIE AND THE CRUISERS. "Tunes" plays a GREAT part in the flick... BTW I understand Southside Johnny Lyon was the Technical Advisor on the film. GOD BLESS CLARENCE..!
IF YOU WERE A MUSICIAN OR ANYONE WHO APPRECIATED GREAT MUSIC AND YOU DID’NT WATCH THIS MOVIE OR, LIKE ME, BUY PARTS 1&2 THEN YOU REALLY MISSED OUT!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE TUNES AND ONE I USED TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THE PIANO AND GUITAR PARTS FOR BUT MY MILITARY CAREER AND FAMILY TOOK PRECEDENCE SO LIKE ANYTHING ELSE I HAVE DEFINITELY GOTTEN SO RUSTY AT IT, BUT FOR ANYONE THAT HAS YET TO GO THROUGH 4-5 CASSETTES, CD’S ; DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, FIND AND BUY THE MOVIES AND PREFERABLY A RECORD ( that’ vinyl for you younger rockers). I GUARANTEE YOU THAT YOU WILL ADD IT TO THE SOUNDTRACK OF YOUR LIFE!! LETS BRING BACK THE REAL MUSIC!! I AM RESPECTFUL OF ALL MUSIC THAT HAS A MESSAGE BUT I AM STARTING TO SEE A TREND IN THE MUSIC WORLD GETTING BACK TO THE BLUES, REAL R&B AND THE CLASSIC ROCK GENRE!! LETS KEEP IT GOING AND TAKE BACK WHAT WE, THE ONES SPENDING THE MONEY AND BUYING THE CONCERT TICKETS BACK FROM THE CORPORATE GREEDY SUITS AND SUPPORT THE MUSIC THAT “ WE” WANT TO HEAR ON OUR RADIOS!!! THUMBS UP TO THE PRODUCER OF THIS VIDEO AND THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT WITH THE WORLD. WHAT A GREAT BAND ( JOHN CAFFERTY AND THE BEAVER BROWN BAND)!!! ALSO TWO OF THE GREATEST SAX PLAYERS EVER.!!! DEFINITELY RIGHT UP THERE WITH KING CURTIS AND BOOTS RANDOLPH!! ANYBODY REMEMBER THOSE CATS? DIFFERENT STYLES BUT, MASTERS OF THEIR INSTRUMENTS. KEEP ON ROCKING AND PEACE, LOVE, AND GOOD BLESSINGS TO ALL🙏🏼🦅✌🏽🇺🇸
That's Vini Lopez on drums I am pretty sure. His style was different than the original drummer. And yes I think that's Gary also. They aren't playing the stock parts either. Thinking about now he would have been a great replacement for Clarence when Bruce was looking. He has that "girth" in his sound.
That’s why he’s pounding on the guitar, trying to get the drummer to get the hint,... there’s no groove, it’s like the drummer never saw the movie. lol.
Ok People... I don't know who made this video... but.... the sax player in the John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band is NOT Clarence Clemons. The Sax player's name is Michael Antunes. And... this song has nothing to do with Clarence Clemons. Although... no disrespect to Clarence. He was a great sax player and deserves all the respect for being one of the Greatest sax players ever to have lived.
Alhanna I don't think he has it ass-backwards...Bruce and John developed their styles independently of each other...they just happened to share a lot of influences. I love them both, and I'll admit that Bruce has had far, FAR more success than John...I think it's simply because Bruce is, in the end, a better songwriter. In terms of showmanship and leading a band, John might actually be better than Bruce.
SO obvious you know nothing about music. Its the drummer that sets the pace. So your comment is garbage. Learn about music BEFORE you make an ass out of yourself. Stupid kid.
It doesn't get any better than that. What a fantastic Tribute!!!
I cannot truly love this as much as it deserves❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love Clarence Clemons😊
The most sincere and heartfelt musical moment I've ever seen. Incredible.
R.I.P Clarence... The angels sleep easier, listening to you playing solos.
RIP Clarence Clemmons. Rest assured your sound lives on . Heavens got quite a legendary choice of angelic harmonies there in heaven. 👸👼👸
Yep... sad.
Johnny no one could have done it better than Clarence himself, Thank you my brother very well done, I'm writing this with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😆😆

Beautifully done. Thank you for sharing your video.
His name is Wendle, In the movie Eddie and the cruisers, The big man himself has a smile on his face,
He made fall in love with the sax.❤🎷🎶
No, It's a gnat, or dust, or maybe the pollen in the air. This is the reason that my eyes are watering. Serious, I'm not crying.......
Absolutely fantastic 👏
Just friggin incredible....
How beautiful and heartbreaking....
I can't help but smile every time I hear this song!! And while I love every aspect of it, Tune's solo grabs my heart & soul each and every time!! Tssssss......

Great hearing music as it should be Again, I forgot.
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing.
best sax part in a rock & roll song and the close out piano riff is killer. This is jam session raw type recording. who cares, if you want the studio sound, get the sound track or the movie...
P. J. Whitman I agree. Honorable mention goes to the sax player on the love theme in St Elmo’s Fire (the version recorded by David Foster).
Ho man! That sax!! and Johns singing
great video i thought it waz really great i enjoyed it
I met "Tunes", Pat Lupo, and a couple others of Beaver Brown after a show in Raleigh (Gees, 1985..?). Great guys. Check out EDDIE AND THE CRUISERS. "Tunes" plays a GREAT part in the flick... BTW I understand Southside Johnny Lyon was the Technical Advisor on the film. GOD BLESS CLARENCE..!
When the change was made up town and the big man joined the band!....we miss you C!
one of the coolest things!!
I didn't seek out these feels. They sought me out in the form of recommendations.
Anybody know how hold Michael Antunes is here? ..he's still killing it. ..always been my favorite sax player period.
Mr. Nymous lol yeah my uncle is he is good and well
TUNES IS THE MAN!

You said it all BROTHER. 👍🏻
you mad bro?
WOW!
Wow.
I could listen to JC every day... and not the movie, though I love the movie... but Jersey does it sooo much better.
It would be cool to see Antunes sit in on the E street band and play Clarence's part?
Clarence Clemons ah yes
What a shame
That's Vini Lopez on drums I am pretty sure. His style was different than the original drummer. And yes I think that's Gary also. They aren't playing the stock parts either. Thinking about now he would have been a great replacement for Clarence when Bruce was looking. He has that "girth" in his sound.
My thoughts exactly
Yes that’s MADDOG on the drums confirmed :)
fokk Bruce, Michael stayed right where he belonged.
my good friend vini madd dogg lopez on drums wow
He's playing it too slow.
I believe that is Vinnie Mad Dog Lopez on drums and Garry Tallent on bass.
Us open caddy and to be rock n roll hall of famer and great guy.
Wasn't the keyboard player Toby Tyler? ;)
in my mind since the songs were so great why wasn't this put out more. even a concert with beaver Brown band. since they did the sining
Wow, it seems as if Everyone knows everything here. I don't claim to know anything at all except for one little thing: THE DRUMMER IS DRAGGING!!!
That’s why he’s pounding on the guitar, trying to get the drummer to get the hint,... there’s no groove, it’s like the drummer never saw the movie. lol.
Springsteen original drummer. Is a little slow on this song
He almost died hours after this show in a car wreck :/ he was probably under the weather that day for sure.
😥
Awesome

And... this song has nothing to do with Clarence Clemons. Although... no disrespect to Clarence. They started out good then keep slowing down ...then get faster then slow down again.....but was still good....
Buddy can play the shit outa that sax. lol.
It would be great but the drummer keeps dragging. Love this song.
Who plays the sax
I'm not sure what it's called, but if you touch the upside down triangle at the top right corner, it tells all the band members names!
Marty's got it wrong, Springsteen does it in the style of Cafferty.
springsteen has nothing on cafferty
Don't think Bruce ever did that song
That guy is good, but he can't make Whine the way CC did. Now I gotta go and watch Eddie and the Cruisers for the unth time.
I absolutely love this song but the way they are playing it here sounds like someone has their finger on the turntable.
good song but a draggin a little here.
In the style of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band
ya got it ass-backwards
Alhanna I don't think he has it ass-backwards...Bruce and John developed their styles independently of each other...they just happened to share a lot of influences. I love them both, and I'll admit that Bruce has had far, FAR more success than John...I think it's simply because Bruce is, in the end, a better songwriter. In terms of showmanship and leading a band, John might actually be better than Bruce.
+MartyMartin87 Both guys borrowed stuff, all musicians do. Both have good songs. Neither is the first to use sax in their music.
drummer is dragging badly. Shameful for such a great song and band.
SO obvious you know nothing about music. Its the drummer that sets the pace. So your comment is garbage. Learn about music BEFORE you make an ass out of yourself. Stupid kid.
It took you all this time to come up with that ? Speaking of time...the drummer is dragging.
... nice try. :)
nicetry64 He's actually correct though. He's on time, but he's dragging on the hi-hat, so it's really sounding swampy and pulled along.
I'll cop to that, but in my view this is entirely the wrong kind of song for that kind of thing. And I'll bet he's not doing it intentionally.
Who was the Keyboard Player?
frank ridgeway
