I only have a few words to say.. If this doesn’t run chills up your spine, then you’re not a fan of the movie like I am.. Long live Eddie and the cruisers..
I just went to a John Cafferty music concert on the famous Jersey Shore of all places and it was totally awesome. I drove over 3 hours each way to get there and back. It was worth it to me as I wanted to see them in concert for many years. I also met Michael Pare earlier this year too. He played Eddie Wilson in the two movies. At the end of the show, I even got to meet Mike Tunes who plays the sax. I still can’t believe I met some stars from the “Eddie and the Cruisers” movies and was in front of John Cafferty singing with him and the band at the show. I had my cold beer from the bar and had a great time. Yes, dreams sometimes do come true! It’s all “just a matter of time.” 😃👌🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Dude I’m so jealous that you get to meet those people man how cool is that these two movies in music I’ve been in my life since I was really young and I never get tired of hearing The songs
@@smsmoof8128 I missed him in 2010. That was the last time he played in the state I live in. 😔 I did get to see him in 1995 with the Heartbreakers. ✌️❤️🌼
U people don't understand how much this music means to my life,...many dark days these guys have pulled me threw another day...God bless my childhood and John Cafferty
@102030920475280199664 this song is so meaningful to me also, it's our first song when we first dated..my wife to be and 3months pregnant was killed by a drunk driver..her car was hit and pushed off the cliff(30') into a creek and she died..although life is hard, but giving up(going on without her) is harder, stay strong...

You can truly feel when a song a written by someone's soul. My all-time favorite song hands down. Thank you John Cafferty.!!!!

This song brings tears to my eyes til the day. I just turned 40 and this was the first soundtrack that I ever fell in love with. It’s literally my life’s dream to see this band live. I live in Cleveland and I pray that one day I get to see them before it’s too late
So today after hearing On the Dark side play in my playlist. I got the random thought to look them up on TH-cam and see if I could find the real band John cafferty and the Beaver Brown band. I'm completely blown away I can't believe I never thought to do it before. I've watched the movie hundreds of times with my parents and it had a huge influence over my life. Makes me think about all the nights me and Mom would watch the movie together while missing Dad. Dad was a truck driver for 30 years. So mom and I would watch just to feel like he was there. Now Dad's home retired and now the cancer has taken mom from us. I'll see you again some day Mom. R.I.P. I love you.
I freakin luv John Caffertys voice. Got all the Eddie and the Cruisers movies and the cd soundtrack to the movie. My alltime fav band from the eighties. You rock John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. Can that guy play the sax or what?

Awesome performance of a truly great and underplayed song! John’s voice still sounds great and “Tunes” on the sax.. incredible! I dard to say that if the late great Clarence Clemmons is the King of Saxophone then Michael “Tunes” Antunez has to be the Crown Prince of Sax! When he’s playing the solo near the end I can almost hear him break out into the solo of Jungleland and nail it the way Clarence would have done it. Note for note! Great band! JC & BB Band!
Lonewolf, you're the first person that mentions the Bruce Springsteen song, "Jungleland." That momentous song, and its chord changes, during the passage that matches the lyrics "beneath the city, two hearts beat," is clearly the inspiration for this song. I feel that "Jungleland" has the best saxaphone solo in all of rock history! And Bruce Springsteen not only hummed every single note of it to Clarence Clemmons, but ingeniously put it all the parts together in the recording studio, after Clarence left the session. It is a musical masterpiece, and much more complex, musically speaking, than the song, "Tender Years." Nonetheless, "Tender Years" is a very moving song, and it defines an era. Bruce Springsteen & The East String Band created the Jersey Band sound. John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band are disciples of this sound. I'd love to hear Springsteen cover this song, as he clearly helped inspire it. I wouldn't doubt that he likes the film, "Eddie & The Cruisers," and also this great track. But anyone who disrespects Springsteen is clueless about his significance in rock history, and relevance to this song.
Michael "Tunes" Antune doesn't get enough credit for his great ability on the sax. The very best sax for rock 'n roll. I could listen to him all night as he wails on that sax. What a great talent he was.

This was our favorite bar band in Rhode Island for so many years. We knew them simply as Beaver Brown and we would love going to see them after a day at the beach at Scarborough or Narragansett Pier. They'd play across the street from Scarborough beach, at a small club called The Beachcomber in Narragansett, and everyone would have their lobster tans and flip flops. The most enjoyable bar band I've ever seen in my life. It was sooooo great!
