The noise the knife makes as he pulls it out of the table tells you how deep it is lodged. This is Rambo at his best, dark, angry and out for revenge, and no one gets in his way, even death gets behind and says "No I insist, after you".

“or I’m gonna hurt you... real bad” I love that line. The way he says it lets her know she really has no idea just how bad you can hurt, and she doesn’t want to.
Probably if she killed herself before Rambo even found her, he would have no chance to do it at all.
Even at that age, he can still make himself intimidating. This was one of my favorite scenes in the movie along side Rambo having Gabrielle's dad against the door and saying he should have broken his neck ten years ago.

Sly did an amazing job conveying an amazing range for John. You can feel the monster inside of him that he's trying to hold back with everything he's got, focusing instead on being the parent that Gabriella needed. It goes from him asking as a civil concerned parent where she is, but when he realizes the truth, that parent vanishes like breath on a mirror. It's almost as if he didn't need to draw the Bowie knife for the audience to know that this was now the blood and guts version of John Rambo she was talking to. The last person anyone would want to be caught alone in a room with. This bitch showed her true colors, so why shouldn't he? With friends like these who needs enemies?

I like gazelle’s reaction. She’s experienced on the street and knows how to talk but realizes this man means what he’s saying. That slow draw from Rambo and she knows she’s in deep.
Most people in this movie doesn't realize they are messing with John Rambo...deadliest assassin and war veteran...one who would destroy a town in a blink of an eye...
So true, but I have one critique when he fell into a trap so easily that was disappointing to me, because the movie could of been over right then, and there. Besides that the rest of the movie from beginning to end was amazing.

I'd like it more if it was more grounded like it's a messed up situation, but it's believable that someone actually could escape from this. That's just my opinion though like I said it's still a great movie.

Rambo is a true warrior, the embodiment of combat, violence, death, destruction and warfare. A warrior that represents and above all, symbolizes all forms of strength and power.
Just like Kratos Rambo is the modern version of Kratos
If Colonel Samuel Trautman was there, he'd say to Gizelle, "You're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best--with guns, knives, and his bare hands. Personally I think her being spared condemned her. That other Don, the one Hugo and Victor was trying to impress, is still alive. He wasn't even on Rambo's radar. So naturally when a potential business partner turns up dead and everyone associated with him dies except for her. He's got someone to torture and kill for failing since he was robbed the opportunity to do so to Victor and Hugo. To put it lightly, Rambo is an old Dog, Gizelle is the fish he caught, but rather than eat her, he tosses her to the nearest bear. The bear being Don Miguel.
This scene scared me more than every horror movie I’ve seen.

When Gizelle looked into Rambo's eyes after he had the knife out....she saw a BEAST of a man SO dangerous he was almost inhuman. She knew right then and there he could easily kill her like as if it was breathing. Thus she was petrified and completely at his mercy.
This is just a man acting really good.
You have no clue what looking into the eyes of a real killer is, trust me.
For example Mirko CroCop and even he is a sweetheart
The biggest problem with putting your foot on a tiger's neck is that you can't remove it in no time. and Giselle did it by showing Grabiela's bracelet. And what happened? she's awakened a monster she's probably never seen from Rambo. and besides, the best threat is not to scream but it when you speaking low because only then will you understand the monster you didn't want to meet.

Sylvester Stallone is totally underrated as an actor in my opinion.
He does what he does very well!

stallone isn’t underrated. he is clearly a hall of fame actor. one of the greatest actors to ever walk this planet earth, he’s right beside pacino, deniro, pesci, costner, liam neeson, all these great actors stallones one of them…
Sly definitely got better as an actor with age. With age comes wisdom and life experience and he plays older Rambo so well.
There was panic in her voice and the story progressed. You could tell Rambo could sense her fear when he said "she left without saying goodbye?" He knew she was hiding something from him and he was ready to beat it out of her if he had to.
I remember watching this scene in theater and when he slammed the knife it was like thunder through the theaters surround sound system

I remember seeing this in the theatre, and everyone freezing motionless, breath stuck inside, including me. :D THAT's how you know the movie is directed good and the actors are good.
Well if Stallone makes one more Rambo movie it should take place in a Red Dawn scenario it would be great seeing Rambo defending home turf I think he'd be the most dangerous in that mode

Stallone said in an interview that his idea for another Rambo film is to have him be on the run from the cops because of the events at the end of this film and have Rambo find solitude at a Native-American Reservation (because Rambo is half Navaho on his father’s side)

@@kidstlme8230 the unfortunate thing is that the cops would care. The Cartel have to get their drugs in and I imagine that they would have cops in their pockets. That’s true to today in real life. Also, Rambo used explosives, traps and even possible illegal weapons. Regardless of their affiliation, even clean cops cannot ignore that. Murder is still murder. I like your idea better, but I cannot stand here with you thinking that his idea wouldn’t work. I would watch the hell out of it

To be frank its him composure thats intimidating. His stare alertness, lack of emotion and that cold stare...
The knife in the table just solidified what he'd do
The first rambo is still my favorite. The theme of the pariah, rejection of society and social questioning having as much importance (see more) than the action scenes.
But this one, despite average opinions, left a very strong impression on me.
After all his life, suffering and loss, you think he's finally found peace, you find yourself trapped in the empathy between him and his niece...and then it happens.
I would have been driven crazy if that had happened to me.
When you think that the producers initially refused that Sly play his character in the first film...It hurts me to see that he is aging, but he embodies the icon of the old lion to perfection.
And for this scene, rambo is definitely scarier with his knife than with any gun.
