      Thanks. You need ECFMG Certification to apply as a clinical fellow. This is step 1+ step 2.
      I suggest you are better off also completing USMLE step 3 soon since this will help you get a H1B visa & this is also required to work as a consultant/attending physician.

    I am just an MBBS doctor from India, planning to apply for IM residency. I want to increase my chances of matching as much as i can. This pre residency fellowship idea is giving me hope. Will i be eligible for these fellowships without homecountry residency?
    Thank you😊

      Most of these fellowships are post home country residency fellowships and then gives experience to make it pre residency in the US

      Dr. Soufiane, I appreciate your interest. While the department that offers you a research fellowship can assist in processing the visa, it's important to note that the ultimate responsibility lies with the Immigration Department in Canada.

    Hi doctor! Thanks for the video.
    I wanted to know in USA how long are usually Research fellowship lasts? and during fellowship does Research fellowship candidate Paid salary same as Clinical fellowship?

    • @IMGSecrets
      @IMGSecrets  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. The duration of a research fellowship can vary depending on several factors and typically spans a few years. The exact length is often influenced by the nature of the research project, funding availability, and the goals of the fellowship program.
      When it comes to pay, the compensation for research fellowships is variable and contingent upon numerous factors.

    Hi doc, in your opinion, what fellowships in anaesthesia are the least competitive and therefore better for IMGs to apply for?
    Do you recommend direct applications to program directors or can IMGs use a fellowship matching system?

    • @IMGSecrets

      Great question. The competition keeps swinging and doesn’t stay the same. Both types work depending up on one’s eligibility.

I am looking to apply for a fellowship in the USA. I just want to confirm on something that you mentioned, you said that as an IMG one can not apply through the match process is that correct?

    • @IMGSecrets
      @IMGSecrets  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well as an IMG you dont have to apply through match for anesthesiology (for some may be) which means this will work in your favor.
