Thank you Dr Iyer for your continuous and positive engagement with the IMG community worldwide. I have been truly inspired by the journey of your august guest from India to the UK to Canada, and the expose that he provided for would be clinical fellows in Canada, not only in the field of Anaesthesia but across surgical and medical specialties. Thank you once again and I wish you greater successes going forward.
Thank you both for your valuable time and information. One question, can I apply to a fellowship after I am done with one, for example Interventional cardiology then structural cardiology, would that be feasible or there are some limitations Thanks
Sir first of all thank you for creating such wonderful content. Its really very inspiring. I have done my MBBS and MD in Clinical Microbiology from India. Is there any fellowship program related to my field?
Thank you Dr Iyer for the amazing work that youre doing for IMGs. While applying for clinical fellowships in Canada would it be appropriate to mention your purpose (in the letter of intent/covering letter) that you are eventually seeking the role of a permanent staff position in Canada? Or would that play against the candidate? Does being honest and frank upfront help? Thank you in advance.
Thank for this wonderful video. I am an OBGYN from Brazil and looking in the hospitals websites in Canada, most of them require a funding confirmation for IMGs. I don't understand that quite well, because for me it is not possible to get a funding myself, I am looking for a paid fellowship. Could you explain it better for me? For exemple, the University of Toronto application form has a space for IMGs to "show the evidence of funding support". What shoul I write on this? Thank you very much
Thank you so much for this informative video..i am about to clear my FCPS in Pakistan and also giving FRCopth part2 soon..i feel like getting a clinical fellowship in VR or cornea in Canada would be great..but i feel like number of paid fellowships is quite limited..can you guide about the important factors that they consider while granting those fellowships?
The concepts for getting a fellowship in Opthal is similar to what is explained in the video. Background experience, goals, CV, well roundedness etc. play a role www.IMGSecrets.com
Thank you very much doctor for the amazing video. i have two questions one of the comments asked whether clinical fellowship is possible with a person holding MBBS and you answered no. is it because for clinical fellowship you need masters or PhD? secondly, as an img, would a specialty in radiation oncology or internal medicine/family medicine be more advantageous in getting a clinical fellowship position than a surgical one? thank you
Dr Iyer, I am an anaesthesiologist ( DNB, DA) from India with 11 years of practice . I have received my PR and will soon relocate to Ontario. I humbly request you to please guide me as to how I may earn as well as continue ahead in my professional life there . Dr Neha
Based on this chat, would you say it’s best not to apply for more complex or more popular fellowships from outside of Canada then? For example for a UK trained anaesthetist who wants a Regional fellowship, is it better to apply for a Clinical anaesthesia or other more general fellowship first, do that for one year and then apply for Regional or do you think it is possible to just directly apply for Regional? I guess same question could be asked about others like Thoracics or Transplant. Would applying for both Regional and a more general fellowship be unwise?
Sir is there any respiratory medicine fellowship in canada.. I did my md respiratory medicine after mbbs in india, any fellowship program applicable for me ?
