The silence from V after Reed had the audacity to mention Jackie...
I can just imagine V thinking of 1,000 ways to kill Reed after that.
i didnt like reed before but i didnt see that line in my playthrough, now i like him even less
I mean, he is kinda right... Taking the Konpeki job was stupid. Even V admits that several times during main story and the DLC.
V and Jackie were two inconsequential klepto-punks that thought they could take on the world. Everyone involved in that Heist was doomed even if it had gone according to the plan.
@Vipus2501 Well, rubbing that in V's face was uncalled for, but you are right.
Anyone with a brain shouldn't go head first into a gig where you steal expensive, prized, one of a kind technology from the world's most infamous and biggest megacorp.
In a way it's Jackie's fault. He was desperate to reach the "big leagues" but didn't stop and think about how some fixer who disappeared for two years and is shady as fuck wasn't odd to him. Not to mention Dex took a large portion of the cut.
And V, gullible guy he is, followed his best friend and even shared some of his dreams.
@@Vipus2501explains why V was low key irritable during that Delamaine ride. Jackie’s go-lucky attitude battling the gut instinct that it’s all gonna go to sh*t. Who could steal a prized tech from Saburo and get away with it? Chances were slim, bar none.
@@johnny4221 You hear Reed slipping in dialogue several times, usually when V is not doing what he wants, then he tries the next angle. For the three professional agents V is just an asset to be recruited. All three (four with Myers) of them constantly try to push Vs buttons, to get her as an asset on their side. Songbird with the "Cure"-Carrot and later with the Brooklyn-Sob-Story. That is what even Alex is doing with the dance, too. As Myers is doing with behaving like a war buddy, when they are on the run. Strong "Homeland" vibes. As Johnny says in the beginning: "You are up against seasoned players. Just don't get played." Superb writing.
That minor league merc remark is what sealed his fate. My 60 level full chromed out V who had solo raided Arasaka 5 times by then took this very personal!
V might be a badass in combat due to having the Chip and Johnny in their heads, but they are still just a "merc in diapers" as they Rockerboy puts it. Doesn't have the contacts and influence as someone in Rogue's level. Even at the top of their game, V still ends up being Blue Eyes pawn, willing to do anything in hope of a cure that might not even exist.
@@Vipus2501After the Sun ending V is pretty much the new Rogue for starters.
And what make you think they end up as Blue Eyes pawn? He had a job and V accepted textbook solo behavior. The difference is that they got that job to begin with because no one else besides them would have even the slightest chance to pull it off. And that alone makes them the best in the business at that point. And it’s a stupid comment from Reed regardless. He calls V a middle tier merc when he relied on their connections to get them into the Black Sapphire or breach Maxtac ICE. Whilst him and Myers took the backseat as always.
@@Vipus2501 I disagree, V prior to solo mission against Arasaka, can be considered to be the most skillfull merc out there when working alone. Rogue even backs this up as while V's reputation is questionable due to DeShawn's failed plans, she admits that V is better off working alone, and even fixers around NC praise V's work with the upmost respect, so they definitely have contacts. That "Rocker-boy" isn't the most reliable source, as his own ego overestimates the events he has. Not to mention, in terms of feats, Silverhand is arguably rustier than V, and often relies on Rogue to get plans done smoothly.
Hell, Mr. Hands, one of the most eloquent fixers can be influenced by V's work, that he manages to get blueprints of the Black Sapphire, something that not even Reed or any NUSA agent(apart from V) could ever get their hands on.
AIIIIEEEEEE CERBERUS-SAMA PLEASE DON'T PENETRATE ME
@@cock9149 Lol with a comment like that your name fits you
*Reed threatening V*
“Gotta delta, later.”
“As you were saying?”
Bro really just hung up on the guy threatening V and Songbird because he could
The Skippy voicelines keep killing me man. That shit's too funny.
"Is that what you told Welles at Konpeki?"
I like Reed but holy fuck even if this wasn't my playthrough my rage genuinely spiked hearing that
I didn't know he said this and now I don't even feel a little bit bad for killing him, keep Jackie's name out of your fucking mouth.
might just start the game over just to fuck reed up over this
I know this is overused a lot but I wanted to shout “KEEP MY CHOOM’S NAME OUT YOUR F***ING MOUTH!!!”
That was a low blow. For that alone, V should flatline Reed.
Man. What a great game, great writing and world building that they could make us feel so strongly about these characters.
If this is how he patronized Song and Alex after everytime they didn’t do something according to his liking no wonder they wanna run as far as possible from him now.
Right especially the comment about jackie i shot him on that playthrough cause of those words alone
Right? He acts chummy only as far enough to let him fulfill his obligations to the NUSA. The moment you don't bend, he shows his self.
Reed means well, but he had his head up his ass. He cares about So Mi and Alex but he takes it upon himself to think what is best for them. It only gets worse because it didn't take much for Myers to drag Reed into the game. Reed will whine how Myers fucked him, but at the end of the day, Reed still ends up following her anyway because he is a tin soldier who is all about 'for my country'.
@@korawitbuttramee618Facts, I loved when Johnny and V were having the debate about ideals. Working in defense/government you have to adopt a strong conviction in order to remain sane while doing degenerate activities. “I’ll do anything for my country” will have you back stabbing,
setting up team mates, “necessary” civilian casualties etc. Without that strong ideal they could never last because you begin to wonder if it’s worth it.
Really shows how strong convictions/ideals can only get you so far. Maybe you need to break away from it sometimes but if done so, it’s no longer a conviction.
1:49 The way V calmly interrupts Reed's threatening to kill a few scavs, then casually calls back to let him finish like it's a friendly conversation.
Edit: Just to say f you and hang up a few seconds later.
Reed's not a bad man, but damn is he a vicious dog of one. Unfortunately for him, V is probably more terrifying than he could ever imagine.
At this point Reed is pretty much threatening a T-800. You don't threaten a T-800 unless you know without a shadow of a doubt that you can take it down.
@@MR.LMR1996Why would Reed back down from V? He’s been in the game way longer than them
@@williammoutchia9292 Aye. Yet V has no chill and a body count to match Reed's experience.
I would consider him a bad man. The guy either KNEW or LEARNS that Myers is behind So Mi being "entangled" with the Blackwall AI protocols. YET he treats her, according to Myers wishes.
That's not only a betrayal - but it's evil! So Mi - if taken alive will be left off to "a fate worse than death" according to her own words.
And Reed practically verifies it if you take her in alive. He tells you that the blackwall has destroyed so much of her neural network AND that the AI neural matrix that she got - couldn't save her - so YOU get the option to have it save YOU. But he tells you that she's alive and might even return to active duty...
That means she becomes a PAWN... That is the actions of a bad man....
@@williammoutchia9292 Reed has been a in the spy game longer... V however at this point is the single most lethal cybernetically advanced killing machine in night city, possibly the entire world, who can eat maxtac like tictacs and murder Adam Smasher and a legion of arasaka's finest.
I just wish v had more chances to flex how strong he is in conversations because reed was talking too spicy this expansión
I think so too.
V is already cocky enough💀
Yeah agreed.. You don't really get to explore different personalities, you're unfortunately locked in pretty deep into CD Project Red's V :/ One of the games downsides...
Forreal, lol. Bro was talking too reckless. They should've let us cook.
In a thousand playthroughs, I would f*ck Reed up in every single of them in a heart beat
2:53 the silence was loud on this one
"We could have helped her..." Yeah, giving her to Myers until she dies as a weapon is really helping her, Captain Deluded.
Reeds deluded but so is V. Sending a free will nuke to the moon is the dumbest shit imaginable.
Meh, we will see that in the sequel for sure

Your arrogance BLINDS you
@@LaCokaNostra_ i find your lack of faith... *disturbing*
I roleplay my V as a survivor's guilt bearer, feeling deeply guilty about Jackie's demise and trying to make up for it. And this, this was when Reed sealed his fate of being served a handful of hot lead.
2:52 Too soon Reed. That had to have been a week ago lol.
Another clown that believes the game happened in 2 weeks😂 Y'all seriously need to stop believing your ridiculous theories
Try 2 to 3 weeks, possibly longer. I believe Robert Wilson even mentions this very early in the story once you go see him for the first time in Act 2.
2:23 A minor league merc huh? Bro did more for NUSA in like 2 weeks than the entire FIA combined, smd :D
Calm down man💀💀
Now that's a low blow😂😂
Just like helping river finding peter pans "farm"
does the D stand for dick in your "smh" modification? lmao
if that is the case, unironically very creative and funny. audibly laughed at the idea, which is a very rare occassion for youtube comments. kudos homie
My 1st play through siding with Song Bird and using that same response. When he mentioned Jackie like that I was like: "You just signed your own death warrant. I hope you find me now."
Bum bum be dum bum bum be dum bum
Press translate to English and thank me later
He was dead to me the moment he mentioned Jackie
Skippy at the end, lmao.
Love the disrespect of his corpse yeeting him into oblivion 😂
He just yet him oh you’ll find him decked out in so much Chiron bro
The minor league merc helped him out with getting into the black sapphire, saved his loathsome president asses, escaped from Hansen soldiers, and so on. On top of that, despite being naive (and may be an airhead), he underestimated V who ended up eliminating FIA soldiers. He definitely didn't know V.
V is also capable of a 1v1 with Arasaka on their home turf.
The Fia really didn't have chance with V *_and_* So mi
2:52 - after that line I finished the bastard in the End with zero hesitation.
That last touch was gold man. Tossing him into the abyss below like so much trash. RIH Reed. Enjoy retirement.....in hell.
Also with Skippy reciting "Bum bum be dum bum bum be dum bum"
Reed deadass waited for you to kill those guys to keep to telling off!🤣
2:51 Ahh so you have chosen *death*
Just skippy singing when V throws reed is everything
I loved how these calls confirmed to me I was doing the right choice. He seemed more upset over the fact So-Mi got away with betraying NUSA/Myers than So-Mi herself. Proved he was still a loyal dog even after all that had happened. I still really liked Reed as a character but can't help but side with So-Mi everytime.
in the end, So-Mi used you
@@mencobasukses97Desperately trying to survive, just like V. Never understood why so many people try to take digs at Songbird as if V is a saint his or herself, lol. They'd lie to and use anyone in a heartbeat if it meant ridding themselves of the Relic and getting their lives back.
@@DamnWhoAsked exactly, to me, it's either her or my V, and since it's very clear what her intention was, might as well save my V, it always comes first
@@mencobasukses97 I can’t agree with that in good conscience, as Ultimately So-Mi trusted V by telling them the truth just before getting to the rocket, and literally leaving her fate in V’s hands, knowing there was a good chance V would ditch her because of that betrayal. For me, that ultimate display of trust, I just can’t let her down. As for Reed… that line about growing up and taking responsibility, V should have rebuttaled with Reed’s own failings with Alex, how Reed left her in Dogtown. The Jackie line really did seal Reed’s fate for me, not a chance I’m letting that slide, not after the Offerenda we gave Jackie.
(I apologise to any Latin Americans if I butchered the name of that ceremony)
bringing up Jackie was a low blow
If Blackhand waa the solo of solos 50 years ago, V is the cyberpsycho of cyberpsychos in 2077. What does Reed think he can even do?
Take in mind this is before V storming 'saka's tower. And by that moment V's biggest score (Konpeki Plaza) was a fiasco.
So Reed has reason while saying V's a sorta small fry, he hasn't shown any big feat before Arasaka Tower.
@@notthedeadweight Reed still ignored dozens of cyberpsychos taken alive, gigs from all big fixers, crime scenes cleared and a few hundred gang members killed 3:25 by that one single little merc.
@@Kosogoat First off, the Psychos thing is something that only Regina and her crew should know. And second of all, Reed works for the government and the government works along with Militech, so it doesn't matter what amount of work or for who you worked, someone with the help of a big corpo and the government is more than enough.
I don't mean that they together would stand against V, but from Reed's perspective, V is no rival for such power.
@@notthedeadweight I am more than certain that a word of a merc causing "mayhem" across the city spreads fast, besides that the psycho cases are well known with barricades, witnesees and dozens of victims on scene.
I still think that V with enough motivation (Happy Vergil) coulnd't be stopped with anything short of a saturaion bombardment or an ICBM so Mayer's authority means nothing if not to authorize such a response to V and Dogtown exists...her Myersty coulnd't do sht bout it.
@@notthedeadweight I simply mean for players not to understate V's achievments before the ending.
Edit: Anglisz
I like to imagine this V was thinking "Keep Jackie's name out ya' f***in' mouth!" when he tossed him.
Skippy is wilding 😭
damn i just wanted to save alex not to shoot up the entire air port
Same, I wish that we didn’t have to do that
@@williammoutchia9292myers shot up the airport
To be fair, our Vs didn't go "no Russian" on the airport, Myers' soldiers did.
"Is that what you told Welles in Konpeki Plaza too?"
I wish you could come back to that with a list of all the big things you've done, and basically just go "If the corps can't do it, you think the NUSA can get me? Who do you think your bosses work for?" Something cool and edgy like that. Soon as Reed mentioned Jackie, I knew I was going to side with SoMi Fully. What's crazy is Reed took two revolver shots to the head on that final mission segment so who's laughing now Reed?
that throw was personal
Reed singing that same manipulative song. Like he did to So Mi at 19, to Slider when he forced him to connect to the Blackwall, and to V. He blackmails so well, he even got himself to believe he’s doing it for the good of his country. Even then… I still side with Reed during Firestarter. Neither Myers nor Mr. Blue Eyes will get to keep Songbird as their Blackwall experiment project. Best way for her to be free is death… and all V can do in those few months left, learn all the dets on Project Cynosure and the secret battle against rogue AIs.
we dont even know what blue eyes wants with songbird
@@rangopistacho6928 but we can guess. Cannot be anything good.
Preach, brotha. So Mi will be looking down on us from the other side, thanking us for finally granting her the best freedom we could give her. Even if it isn’t the one she hoped for…
My friend took that end on his playthrough, got the jackie quote. I heard him do the end he yelled down the mic "KEEP JACKIES NAME OUT YO F###IN MOUTH" it was one of the most random but also funniest things ive ever heard.
Throw Reed off the airport roof had me cracking up lol
Just saw another vid where V punches Reed with the Gorilla Arms and he dramatically dies like he got shot as well. LOL
You would probably die like you got shot if somebody imploded your chest cavity with big mechanical arms too.

Same lol. Shot bro in the face expeditiously and sent that bitch to the moon. I saw it as a "no hard feelings" option that felt legit and the guy gives the most dickhead response possible.
skippy at the end was hilariuos
Ok, that throw at the end was personal :D
That throw was definitely personal.
As soon as Reed said that he sealed his fate in my eyes. Low blow dude
i love skippy
Scene : Sad ending when you must kill a friend
Skippy : BAM-BAM-DI-BAM
I feel like Jackie would’ve turned on us after the heist, because of Dexter and all that stuff, wouldn’t want to risk moms, or misty, and he was too ambitious, nothing would stand in his way to becoming a night city legend
I wish there was a way to cap Reed, Myers, and Songbird. Fuckers were all psychopaths.
You can kill Reed and Myers in the safehouse just as they are making their escape from Dogtown. So Mi would presumably either die in Hansen's tender care (I don't know if it's weird or not that of the four I kinda like Hansen the most) or from her condition and not being able to get the cure on her own.
Welcome to the world of spywork.
Remember what Jhonny said. These are career psychopaths, make a living being friends with people they plan to betray.
If you ignore the president's downed plane and never go to save Myers, you can leave her to die and Songbird angry at you. It skips most of PL's main story but it leaves Myers dead, Reed living his crappy life under cover, and Songbird still in a bind probably to die without your help.
V just straight up YEETs his corpse like trash!
My greatest regret with PL was that we didn't get a proper bossfight with Reed. Shooting him in a QTE was nowhere as satisfying.
edit: to clarify, I'm not saying I'd like to have a boss fight exactly in place of the QTE, it indeed wouldn't work in that context, I'm saying Reed could have been placed elsewhere. Maybe there could have been a bossfight instead of that segment when V and Songbird use Blackwall to defeat NUSA troops?
Completely disagreed having a boss fight would have utterly taken away from the intensity of the moment. This isn't some generic badguy boss to fight this was a guy you worked with since damn near the beginning and now you have to make the choice between him or Songbird. A bossfight would have completely ruined the highly intense emotional standoff during Killing Moon.
Imagine hating on one of the most deep moments of cyberpunk because it wasn't a boss fight 💀
@@AnEruditeWolf Agreed. The tension of that moment would have been deeply watered down by stretching it out into a boss fight.
Disagree. I think Reed was the scout, and the brains of the Operation, but Alex and Song were the ones who actually got things done.
Skippy singing Rhianna while you yeeted Reed at the end was fucking crazy lmfao
Came in expecting to love Reed cause of Idris Elba but I came out loving So Mi and Alex more.
The moment Reed dared mention Jackie here was the moment I decided that whatever happened he wouldn't be walking away next time he and V met.
I love in the ending where you side first with him but then kill So Mi you get a call from him to meet up at the court.
V can be like "So came to finish me or what?" (Because he killed Songbird and didnt turn her in alive.)
He says pretty much "V if I wanted you dead you would be dead you aint Morgan Blackhand."
Id wish you could have responded to that "No I aint. Im better then him." They kinda nerfed V here bit probably thought "Nah we cant make Idris a wimp."
Of course, a Merc in the circuit since few month, unable to finish their first big Job (Yes the Konpeki was a failure, the objectives weren't accomplished) and having all their crew being killed is more legendary, experienced, able and credible than the best Merc ever known in existance, the one who basically became the most legendary of all during a period where being great wasn't even enough to survive as a Merc: AKA the 4th Corpo War, this exact same war where Smasher became a Legend
In the Orbital Station, Here Lies Reed, A Lousy Partner and the Loyal Dog of Myers.
Oh my gosh skippy at the end LOLL
Wtf! That bit at the end killed me
Bro came in out of nowhere thinking we are bros hoping we i will side with him instead of helping a trapped soul find peace
I was considering allying with Reed on my second playthrough but after hearing him Mention Jackie like that I think I might have reservations about that. Maybe this time I'll aim for the torso instead so he has a few seconds to think about how he failed before he dies.
That moment right there that I knew that I made the right choice.
Low blow Reed. But Idris Elba made a awesome job voicing. You can really feel the pain coming through. He knows it's wrong but he still can't say no to NUSA. It's really a shame that the only way to send Songbird to the Moon is through him but after that train ride I just couldn't say no to So Mi.
Of course sending her to meet with another likely AI might not be the best thing for her...
That throw was personal
i reckon johnny listened to that and instantly took everything he said about reed n him being one in the same back and now wanted to instead of storming arasaka storm reed 💀
LMFAOOOO the ending plsssssss
“You would have been wise to keep Jackie’s name out of your mouth. You just crossed a line you’re going to wish you hadn’t Reed. Run back to Rosalind before I send you back to your maker.”
V, says that they made a decision and stand by it no matter the cost.
Reed: You need to start taking responsibility.
Reed's a boomer confirmed.
THIS HAD ME SO MAD OML
love how he called back just to say f you and hang up on him
I never watched any content about the dlc until after i beat it, i like to link things up myself and started noticing how much of a manipulative psycho songbird was, but i also knew she would find out about the virus and rat us out so i had to betray out of fear of alex's life.
I find out later i was right but am sad to not find anything else about if she was ok like the 2 chooms who came to your hidey hole early on that i didn't kill only to see them leave and get the message "i took care of them" from, well, reed.
This is good content
I might have to be Bringing La Chingona Dorada to that final mission now…
Well if I had any regrets from pulling that trigger now they are gone.
I understood his side but that one just killed all sympathy I had for reed
NGL I was going back and forth during that call. When Reed said that line, he was a dead man on borrowed time.
How you can save Songbird and keep reed alive??? Couldn't do that
I didn't expect that ending xD
Reed was like: Take me to the moooooon
LOL the interrupted call was great.
The moment he said that, no fucking mercy the instant I saw him after Contra La Luna.
that throw at the end fucking gold
I felt sad a bit when i killed Reed on my first playtrough. Then i did the other ending and heard this. Felt like going back a few save files just so i could kill him again.
nah, aint no way Reed is gonna slide after talking like that about the choom, Jackie.
As Reed was being thrown into the void, a warrior of true strength exclaims his goodbyes "bum bum be-dum bum bum be-dum bum" the warrior said as Reeds body was thrown off the bridge
Whatever you choose, Reed was always untrustworthy asshole that tried to manipulate in every sentence. Never trusted him.
Which operation system is this?
threatening gods sounds like a wise thing to do
Mean Reeds right song is a nuke bomb which could destroy the Blackwall
i always jumped when Skippy suggested to jump lol ... i am a simple man :D
I’m so invested in this game I actually felt offended by you throwing reed’s body 🤣
I didn’t even know that his body could be picked up😭
Pretty sure that only works with the gorilla arms cyberware
hes gettin Guts to the face when i get to this in my playthru, and thats saying something since im a netrunner/knife yeeter build.
The more times I play through the DLC, the more I am re-affirmed in my decision of siding with Song.
In my first playthrough I got the other ending and after I met the Cerberus I would shoot Reed anytime even if he was the nicest guy in NC.
Damn, he crossed a line there. Bad mistake, Reed. Bad msitake
2:50 "jackie welles" "take responsibility for you and for others"
a man like reed thought long and hard about saying that, knowing V attended Jackie's ofrenda, the remorse he shares with others on T-bug, the anxiety he had in the elevator to Hansen's party.
Out of all the people who wronged V, this no doubt was the single worst thing anyone has ever said to him and it only here during the entire convo and for almost 99% of the game where V has nothing left to say to him, sad
V's silence was loud
Only thing that they should afraid of V is when V has nothing to lose.
Regardless of how Reed acts in this path, King Of Cups is still easily the best and most fleshed out ending to the DLC
Reed was desperate cause NUSA would bring the worst case to capture songbird
So he just legit saying shit now trying to make it easy for him to capture us
Reed mentioning Jackie is like a dirty surprise low blow. He has no right to bring out Jackie's name at V.
I made a video about this
In my mind what reed says makes me wanna do king of wands, always. As a canon
2:53 at that moment, that became personal.
