- Today’s video is a look into how I train with Todd. Almost everything I do is modeling the word or concept to him.
Todd is a 6-year-old neutered male cat at the time of this video. Todd and his dad have been learning to communicate with each other since May of 2022 with the help of recordable buttons. We aim to let Todd express himself and tell me his wants and needs. Currently, Todd has 51 words on his soundboard. This channel is dedicated to Todd learning to “talk”. If you would like to see more of Todd and his day-to-day life please visit his Facebook page.

I think it's really kind of you to recognize that Glamour isn't a big fan of being touched and you try to be sensitive to that and even ask her permission to touch her.
Yes, thank you.
The way Dad teaches Todd reminds me of the old days when I used to teach young kids English vocabulary. And the conversation between Dad & Glamour is so funny 😆
😊
Made me laugh, seemed that Glamour heard the mousey button pressed and came for the treats, but went off in a huff. Todd does love the attention he gets.
Yes, he does. We have a very strong bond.
There's a few times now where Glamour's been really watching Todd, and you, use the buttons. Analyzing how the buttons and the words get Todd things. Will not be surprised if one day she just walks up and uses them like she's done it her whole life.
That would be awesome, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
Didn't make glamours day, but made mine.💖🇬🇧
😊
Thank you, this is interesting. Todd is so smart and you are doing a wonderful job teaching him.
Glamour pressing ouch on accident was funny.
I got a good chuckle out of it
Thank you Todd, Dad & Glamour for giving us such delight today 😻
Our pleasure, I'm glad you liked it. 😊
XD Glamour secretly learning words on the side.
It would be nice, but I would say no. If only because I want her to. Lol.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalksshe knows them but considers it beneath her to use them. 😻💕🐈😹
Glam is sutch a grumpy girl🤣
She is spicy, that's for sure
Glamour has such a sensitive Diva soul. You had me laughing. 'Sorry I ruined your day Glamour'. It's only because you love her so much. I would not be able to keep myself in check all the time either.
A standard greeting I have for her is Hi Glamour. How have I displeased you today. Lol
A wonderfull video again. I love aspecialy when Todd looks up to Dad and looking for kisses and/or confirmation❤
Thank you so much!
Glamour has been interested on the buttons lately, she's so cute ❤
Thank you 😊
Tell the missus happy (pet) mom's day from me!
Will do 😊
I had a long haired cat like Glamour who didn’t like to be petted, but she insisted upon sitting on my lap! 😼
It's kind of the same for Glamour. She likes to sit on the couch next to me against my legs, and I am allowed to pet her then.
yes I got my Todd and Glamour fix today because of Daddy thank you
😊
When Glamour said Ouch, I was looking away just for a bit & I thought she bit you or scratched you & you said ouch. I couldn’t figure out why it was funny until l rewound. She’s such a funny girl. 😸
😊
Todd is saying yes I am doing some training, i am training you to give me Mousey. I think Glamour secretly knows how to use the buttons she just feels they are beneath her..lol
😄
Glamour shots for humor content 😹 Todd didn't seem quite pleased to have to wait for evening food mousey, but it didn't deflate him, either.
Todd is very food motivated and he needs the mousey to slow him down. HE may not like having to wait but I think he understands or at least knows he will get more later.
Todd is so clever. ❤
Thank you
Todd wants the easy food mousy, rather than training today. 😂😂😂
Also like that Glamour pops in to watch Todd "work". 😂😂
Yup, today was more about sitting on the couch with a bag of chip rather than going to the gym. Lol
Perfect timing
I'm glad 😊
Thanks for doing this video. I hope I have even a fraction of the sucess with my cats as Todd has had. He is a marvel! Yeah Glamour stole the show today, lol, with her Ouch press.
Good luck, if I can answer any questions for you, please let me know. I'll help if I can.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks thanks so much. It will be 4 to 6 weeks before I can really get into training them. I did put a few buttons in the floor just to let them get use to them and they are actually activating a couple but they roll on them instead of pawing them, so I am trying to work on paw training them. That's going pretty good, it involves treats of course so that is a big incentive.
Good work.
Thanks!
Good he is learning how to use the buttons 😊😊😊
Yes, thanks
I think Glamour might have pushed the "Ouch!" button on purpose. The more I see of her and hear her, the more I think physical touch is uncomfortable or even painful for her in her advanced age as it is for many elderly people.
I could be wrong, but I think it is worth considering.
I understand what you are saying and thank you, but I pet her very gently, and she has acted like this for all her 15 years. I watch her close for signs of true discomfort.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks Oh, I didn't realize she has always been this way, guess its just Glamour things then!
Thank you for taking your time to ease my concerns.
Looking forward to this one. I am always intrigued by the ‘how-to’ videos 😻
If you have any other questions after the video feel free to ask. I will help if I can.
Are you sure that Glamour's real name isn't "Lucy Van Pelt"? She can be such a fussbudget if/when you get on her wrong side!
One of my greeting to her is Hi Glamour! How have I displeased you today? Lol
It’s afternoon here and rather too warm for me. Todd is always a relief to watch but I wonder how he does with his fur coat. Ours sometimes find it too warm.
That is not an issue here. Todd's Mom keeps the house pretty cold and Todd will lay in sunny patches coming in through the windows whenever he can.
I think glamour pressed on purpose! I agree she is a silly girl. I think she likes her nonverbal communication methods ( body language & meows) just fine!
Yes, she can communicate just fine without the buttons.
Is that a cello in that instrument case? I would like to hear you play some time!
It is an acoustic guitar
Do the kitties like it when you play?
@@tl3772yes, they do
Moussey back on carpet?
Unless Todd asks for it somewhere else it is always there.
Todd didn’t seem himself today to me.
How old was Todd when you started to train him with the buttons?
It was late and close to bedtime, we had been playing and were winding down for the evening. He was more interested in the Mousey he asked for when I suggested some training first. He's good. He's just ready for a snack and bed.
Oh, Glamour. You Big Silly, you used to be a Normal Person once.
Actually, she's mellowed out a lot in her old age.
