I ordered the rally tall version of the Seat Concepts seat for my 2024 Africa Twin DCT a couple of weeks ago. It’s the fully flat seat that will allow me to slide back as far as I want. Can’t wait to get it!
Just purchased ‘24 adventure sport and noticed first thing how uncomfortable the seat was after riding just a few miles. I’m 6’2” and the seat in highest position leans me forwards with the grippy seat spitting nuts in halves. Thanks for the review on the seat concepts seat, your content is Awesome!
Love your reply. You and I are in the same boat. I just bought my ATAS last Monday. I too am 6'2" with long legs. The low position was down right painful because of crunched leg geometry. The high position was better in this respect, but my arse hurt pretty bad after a three and a half hour ride home! Love to hear if you found a solution. All my best! Dale.
@@dalezesiger9873Doing some research now (Corbin,Touratech)will keep you posted. I would like to have a little less bend in my knees as well, prior to the purchase I saw SW-motech had adjustable foot pegs, but when ordering some add-ons I found out they’re not for the ‘24! I’m going to call to double check on those also.
My Africa Twin first had the OEM seat then the “comfort” seat; now it sports a rock hard Sargent. By far, I prefer the Sargent but I’d not recommend it any more than I’d recommend a soft or a hard bed. I’ve also had seats I loved at first (IE the OEM seat on my BMW RT) but later came to believe it was designed to extract confessions. Who knows? Clearly . . . not me.
Yes, you deserve to subscribe and like. I am very interested in this bike in general. I ask you to tell me about the bike: Before I buy it, I want to take it on a more international trip and drive 50,000 miles. I care about your opinion.
Great review! I’m considering the SC for the 2024 AT base model, but was wondering if you are going to sell your OEM seat? I’m interested. Thanks again for the video
Greetings to you. Thank you for an informative review. Sorry if it appears obtuse, but I am very confused as to the height (s) of these seats. In your video you state that this seat is always in the "high" position. All good there. However, on Seat Concepts site, they have a "Comfort" seat and a "Comfort High". Their description states that the "Comfort" is slightly lower than the stock "low"; however, their "Comfort High" is 5/8" higher than stock. Very confusing...is that 5/8" higher than stock "low" or 5/8" higher than stock "high". In your video you show that the seat you are reviewing is always in the stock "high". Which seat did you buy? I liked the fact that the seat you are reviewing is always in the stock "high". I tried the stock low when I left the dealer with my 2024 ATAS last Monday. I am 6'2" (33" inseam) and my legs were crunched something awful. I had to stop halfway home (at about the 100 mile point) and put the seat in high. Anything lower than stock high will not work for me (but slightly higher is ok). I want this seat. Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Dale.
SMDSR- I have 2 klx, seat concepts on both. I have a flat butt and my tailbone hurts all the time. In the past I've tried all manner of air hawks, Alaska skin, ATV pad, sergeant's, saddlemen. Almost 20 years of riding and usually butt burn on tail bone issues on all sorts of bikes. The only exception is my buddy had a VTX1300 with a Mustang seat. That one was no problem. Mustang only makes seats for cruisers though. - A Russell Day long LOOKS like it would work, but that is $500+. you have to send em you pan, and I think it would just get torn up on a small DS. My next desperate attempt will be to add a wind riders cover to my seat concepts to see if it helps. I've heard some people have felt worse. (I've also tried every layer of moto skivvies and biking shorts I could find)
I was thinking the same thing. My first thought was how nice it is that the Honda dealer let him use their shop for his video, then I realised it was his own garage - impressive.
Dan you’re completely right. I also bought the OEM comfort seat for 2024, and you have the same plush feeling but you slide fed and feel terrible. I’m thinking of seat concept seat cause the ergonomics of it are perfect. Please tell us how you felt after your 200 mike ride…was it comfy or just bearable ? Thnx mate
Yeah my son use to ride with me, but after my accident my wife isn't a big fan of that, also messes with my head a bit as well. So as far as passengers I don't really have a good testing source.
Might give this seat a try as well. I've got another question: do you know if this windshield would also fit a 23 atas or are the mounting points different?

Now, I don't own either, so I'm not a fanboi, but for me, the question is... do I spend $20,000 on the Africa Twin Sport DCT ES and then another $2-4k in farkles, or do I spend $22,000 on the 2024 BMW GS and not have to add a single farkle?
The Africa Twin Adventure Sport ES DCT is $18K - not $20K. Get the base GS 1300 w/ the Premium package (try to find a GS 1300 without a premium package) and you are looking at $23.5K. The GS is at LEAST $5.5K more expensive than the ATAS. You need the same amount of "farkles" on each bike - luggage, guards, etc.

@@adventureundone , base with DCT.
As a fellow TH-camr, i really appreciate your content. I have this seat on order too... cheers!

you really explain things well. I would get that other seat too

Is that seat the gripper top semi gripper or the other one and what's the difference in them which one you recommend
What crash bars did you go with on your ATAS?
Heed
I'd love to see a comparison of Seat-Concepts to Corbin seat.
My take away from this video is total jealousy of your garage! Very nice.

How about some feedback and comparison regarding the pillion section? I like to ride 2-up and want my passenger to have increased comfort.

By any chance did you live in Hawaii and work for BAE corp at the Navy's Lualualei Navy Radio facility about 20 years ago?
No
how much is the OTD pls appreciate it!

He has many videos on the A Twin on his page. Several hours worse of watching.
Can you tell if there is any difference between the seat for the 2024 and 2022?
same seat
2024 is a modification of the . There is more foam and it is wider
wide seats have less legs room to flat foot it . big butt for passenger is great !
What gloves are those? look good for warm weather
man I have been loving these gloves, and they don't cost a bunch amzn.to/4d5GwmW

Seeing that beautiful machine with all those boxes... so sad. Looking that stupid tank bag... pain :(
Bro, you really need to get rid of those panniers, they do not suit the bike at all, they look horrible
yeah I mainly only use them when I hit the road for a tour. I always run a tank bag and a rear case
@@adventureundone I'll bet that if you grab the handle bars and face forward, the bags look just fine.
What would "suit" the bike. Soft panniers, Aluminum?
