Chromoly flexes so it don't snap. Aluminum wasn't flexing as much cause it was most likely at it's peak before snapping. That's why you don't see freestyle aluminum frames and forks
Having grown up as a 80's kid. Having back then the GT Dyno. Which were the deal. I just purchased my self a 26 GT Pro Performer. Gonna use to cruise around with my kid and do some bunny hops.. HAHA.. But its fully Chromoly which I thought would be a good fit. Nice to get comparisons on different types of metals.
I really just dig the classic good looks of a chro-mo frame..I'd go carbon fiber if I had to choose the new tech. My good friends carbon SuperCross is 14.7 pounds...its amazing and he doesnt even race.
i was using this video as reference a few months back to see if the chromoly frame i was looking at was a good choice. it was. i love the chromo in every way over my previous aluminum frame, and it only weighs a half pound more. and mine has zero flex in the gate, that might just be the SX250. money well spent.
I know Aluminum and Carbon are the Future But I'm Old School! I want to be able to Thrash the neighborhood and be able to Race the weekend All in one Ride. So it's Chromoly for me!
Raced BMX, in the 80's on a Hutch 4130 Cromo. have owned aluminum and carbon fibre frames as well. for racing aluminum is great, but way too stiff for hardcore jumping. Have broken a number of aluminium frames.
Bubba Harris came out of retirement in 2019 to race the Winternationals so his daughters could see him race, Bubba was on the SC chromo frame. Harris gave Tyler Brown ALL he could handle. It was kool to see those 2 battle it out, they both raced their ass off and both jumpin’ out of their minds….anyways, Harris being on the chromo frame wasn’t at any disadvantage from what I saw…👍🏻
@@woodystorey That was an amazing day for sure!! I still have the Pics from that day and the Sign Up Slip on my project board as a memory. Bubba calls our Cro-mo frames the #funmachines
If you just wanna ride and you don't race, cromoly, aluminum and carbon are all awesome. Build 1 of each. More is better and variety is the spice of life
I believe it's the racer the rig is just the rig I'm not against those carbon beauty's but its sumtin about the solid feel for me aluminum all day steel man it's a little heavyweight but those carbons look good and sound smooth I'm on the second generation staats pretty solid still for me went to the track a few weeks ago people were asking what is that 🤣😂
Another great production!
I’m team tin foil all the way! Nothing beats a nicely broken in aluminum frame, sooo smooth!

Dude you don't suck serious effort.. I actually learned alot in this segment
Great comparison - that cro-mo bike is a beauty. Carbon for me, but to each their own and just have fun out there!
The Chromoly is very good looking and stronger for dirt jumping casing jumps and 4 the street stuff . Both r very nice bikes thanks 4 upload.
I got it all on my race 24”…Fall Risk Carbon wheelset, Fall Risk Chromo forx, aluminum frame…19lbs…kool vid yo…

What is a strider?
I believe mine has a mixture of metals in the making the frame as well but u are right preference is the bottom line ✌💪☝️🚴♂️
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.....Love me a good chromo bike....awesome as usual KJ
Just picked up a 92 Mongoose Solution Pro aluminum perfect n I man perfect condition for $100 on marketplace. Best $100 I’ve ever spent.
Awesome! Glad you are back BMXin'
Nice buy!
Supercross what dirt do you use for dirt jumps
whatever you’ve got works honestly. clay-based dirt works best because of how it holds up to weather, but you can build with just about anything
@@haydennharves Thanks
Awesome video, thanks!
Great bmx video! Cool to watch you!
I do ride bmx as well..
what about a 4130 with a carbon fork and more? will that help the flex or will it be a weird ride?
Mikey B our Vet pro uses carbon forks and carbon cranks, carbon rims, on his SX450 cro-mo race frame.... he loves it!

THat chromoly frame is sooooo sick
Thank you!! Wait till you see what we have planned for the 35 year anniversary next year!!
what's the point of the goofy rear end? I prefer a chromoly bike personally but I think its subjective to a point unless you are the top 1%
Yea, i hear ya, it's a goofy rear end, just makes the bike stiffer and it a part of Supercross BMX history...
Awesome as video KJ 🙏🏻 would be interesting to see you do a full race day on the cromo 😳😳 you might be surprised lol ..you know I love cromo lol

The people agree and call them fun machines also!😎

have u guys put my number plate on that beautiful masterpiece lol 🤭😂🤣
Can’t wait to win that bike!
Me 2
My SX450 is the best bmx bike I've owned in 42 yrs. Makes me a better rider ❤️
Thank you! We love our SX450
Cool.
I would think that 6 bar frame is heavier than a normal chromo frame because of more material.
Not by much, the extra bracing only ads a few scant ounces and stiffens up the rear tri quite a bit.
Cool beans... so old skool can still be a decent ride, but can carbon trump them all?
Aluminum over the two for sure but I’d ride what ever I can get my hands on tbh 🤘🏻
Always 4130 chrome moly only

Send me that frame 😜 I wanna race lol
That ol'chrome looks good though
How about titanium frames? I know of one. It's a eastern grim reaper?
