question....im doing a similar swap 2.7 to 3.5....after puting everything back togther....everything seemed ok when i turned the key then i lost power in the inside of the car...now everytime i plug in the car battery it sparks/arks and it burns up all my small Ground wires....my grounds glow fire red when i plug the battery up and im pretty shore all grounds are connected...i have no idea what could be causing this......having a very hard time with this swap.
If youre gonna swap it...why not just go v8? The ECM has the code for everything up to the big 6 liter v8s... and if youve got the nag1 its interchangable across a ton of stuff. You just tell the pcu the engine is that liter verson. Its on...i think...( if youre gonna use hptuners) i think it was the general tab towards the...top left, youll find it east. I could go into hptuners vcm software and just swap that field to 6.1 and itd think it has a 6.1 and could run one just fine.
@@DeltasWorld i got a question im about to do the same thing but how can i check and verify the engine and the transmission numbers? Like u mentioned ?
Had a question, there were three transmissions that came with that 3.5 engine setup, it was the 4 speed, the 5 speed and the all-wheel drive. My question is I have the four-speed transmission, and the junkyard has the 3.5 L that was hooked up to a all-wheel drive vehicle. Do I just need to change the oil pan and flywheel or is the bellhousing area where the transmission bolts up different? Thank you
Hello doing the same thing, I'm glad to have found your video. My 2.7l's 8th digit is d, so what 8th digit will i be looking for in the compatible 3.5l?
Thanks man I’m doing my 08 charger now
Did the same and pretty happy.
My 09 2.7 doesn't have blade runners, just not sure if that's an issue
Going from a 2.7 to a 3.5, there was no modifications needed? everything was just straight drop in and go?

did you ever find the reason?
Did u use the harness for the 3.5 or the 2.7

Cheap option. V8 cost 5x the cost compared to just swapping to new v6 and gain 60 to 70 hps
So did you guys use the same Harness the 2.7 had or did u get the engine with the harness?

aside from the hoist, any other special tools for this job?
Was this successful...just engine needed?
Does anyone if the wiring harness will work for 5.7?

What are you wanting to bolt the 3.5l up too
All you had to do was pull the hood fans and radiator no need for the numper
I am looking to swap my 2.7 in my 08 charger. The front end (bumper and stuff) is pretty easy to take off?
