Engine Harness is different depending on transmission that is in the car..I have a 2006 that had 2.7 . I got a 3.5 out of. A 2006 with harness . 2.7 has some wires from transmission intermingled in with engine harness.....

What did you do about the transmission the flywheels are very different from the 2.7 to the 3.5 or no The 3.5 flywell will not 52.7 What can I do to fix this
Where can I find the last video? Did it crank right up or had to be flashed? Was flashing the computer a DIY or did Dodge do it? I'm completing a swap but having start up issues.
Teresa Buckbee Mine started right up after i noticed my helper unplugged an important plug over by the passenger shock tower once it was plugged in no problems and ive been driving the car for months now. I never even had to have it flashed

So I take it you didn't have to get the PCM reflashed? I just picked up an 89k 3.5 out of an 08 charger to put in my 07 magnum and I have been watching all your videos on tips. I guess I need to go round up and AC compressor and hopefully be able to bend the lines to make it work or just buy new lines.

How did you get around the wiring harness issue for the transmissions versus the 4 speed speed and 5 speed.. I have a client who changed motors but tried to keep the same 4 speed transmission. But we are having major difficulties trying to figure out how to wire it Because the doughnut hornets came from 835 with a 5 speed so that horners will connect to the motor but will not connect to the 4 speed transmission... Is it possible does anybody know any ways to fix this
I have the 4spd transmission and I did not have any issues with the harness. What year is yours mine is a 08 magnum. I wish I had the 5spd transmission though.

I have one question I did this swap it run and drive good but my problem is. did you put that water hose coming from the firewall to what I think the oil cooler and I take i got a pcv problem because when I first started it up it run and drive good but once it warm up a little bit it will have a smoke coming out the tailpipe but once it warm up all the way it stop smoking can you Please Help Me
Hello! So, i can change the 2.7 engine to 3.5 engine on my dodge charger 2007? i will have to do another mods or it will just place and i wont have to anything more?
The computer will work just fine with the 3.5 that's what im running with my 3.5 swap. Only thing you have to watch for is if you change transmissions from a 4 spd to a 5 spd and there is a difference in oil pans between the 4spd trans or 5spd so you just have to watch that when doing the swap.
I see you connected only one intake valve which is SRV(driver side). why? 2.7 had only MTV so that computer should throw code if MTV is not cennected and the other one wont work because your old computer did not control SRV because there was none. So these wires that you connected to SRV are from 2.7 or 3.5? IF its 2.7 you connected MTV wires to SRV so neither is working like it should. IF these are wires from 3.5 why there is only one? I saw in vide that engine came with wire and connectors for both valves.

@@goldmoufbeats I guess this comment section is dead :D did you also swap ECU maybe? because I heard if yous wap ecu(ecm) your car wont work, because its somehow connected to the vin of old car. The MTV and SRV thing will throw a trouble code, but the car will run without big issues. I kept old computer
Im using the old computer ....the thing is the car only stay in one gear and olny allow me to drive about 25mph and when its in park and i try to rev the engine it only does it half way then it stops. But sometimes if i keep pressing the gas pedal fast and hard then it eventually rev up and allows me to drive the car faster than 25mph but only in that one gear ...im getting the gear 1 ratio error code but my transmission was fine before the swap
And i can have no intake valve connected and i wont get any codes the car run the same no matter which one is plugged in. Or if none is plugged in it still run the same So im confused
so Im thinking of doing this swap because ive got a blown 2.7 and it has bee heck trying to find one when 3.5 is readily available at half the price is there any way you could give me some details on what all I need
One line goes up to the back of the motor under the intake. There is one that runs to a cooler on the side of the motor and it t's to the resovoir tank
I'm tryin to find out if the other hose on the cooler connects to the resorvoir tank.. I'm sorry but idk much, I wanted to try it out since the car was pretty much scrap
I did a 07 2.7 swap to 06 3.5 dodge told me they couldn't pin. down the issue I'm not sure what going on i changed the transmission to the one I bought the motor for its a 5 speed. but its not shifting it gets stuck in 2 nd. and it will just rev up and the mrp. hand isn't working
@@damienespinoza7970 no but i was told a week ago by a pro mechanic that the problem is i need to change the rear end also he said he did it to another magnum when someone else change to the 3.5 engine and it fixed the problem but im done trying im selling my dodge magnum with to working transmission included for $800
Because the 2.7 and junk engines and blow up all the time so they are sought after more to replace the bad 2.7 and well the 3.5 are pretty good and don't have all the issues the 2.7 does so they are not as needed which keeps the price down.

Alex Zavala Yes but there are two diff oil pans one is for the 4 speed on the 3.5 and one is for the 5 speed. I kept my 4spd since mine is stock now the 5spd is a much better transmission and can handle more power

I have been a car guy all my life and been building cars since my first car a 240z and doing bikes and lifted trucks. I do more swaps and custom builds which you will see more of in 2020. I also have full machining ability and dyno in my shop, including a cnc vertical mill, cnc plasma table and even two vertical mills boring machine and Sioux valve and seat grinder, metal lathe.

i need to change my oil pan i have everyhing off but the back 4 bolts...looks like a mount that hold the oil pan up

so the pcm from the 2.7 dont need to flash plug n play ,did you use the 2.7 engine wiring harness or the 3.5 ?

i did the swap. after adapting the 2005 magnum 2.7 tranny harness to the 2007 charger 3.5 harness it is doing fine.

I have the 4spd transmission and I did not have any issues with the harness. What year is yours mine is a 08 magnum. I wish I had the 5spd transmission though.

Yes the 3.5 will go right into the Charger. There is a few things that will need to be changed like the ac compressor and a few other little things.

The computer will work just fine with the 3.5 that's what im running with my 3.5 swap. Only thing you have to watch for is if you change transmissions from a 4 spd to a 5 spd and there is a difference in oil pans between the 4spd trans or 5spd so you just have to watch that when doing the swap.

There is a lot of info on whats needed in the description on the videos. Its a simple and easy swap and you get a better motor w the 3.5 motor.
Cody..I did the swap ..still having starter issues ..do u think its the alternater ..I'm getting spark from the rod so I don't think its the starter.

Alex Zavala oil pan will be a 5spd oil pan on your 3.5 otherwise pretty much the same if you had a 3.5 and swapping in the other 3.5 from the 5spd
