I feel like I'm watching a documentary lol, this is actually a pretty educational game.
Yeah, some people don't like it, understandable. I like it. Would've been better if they did a mix of the narration and voice-acted characters for the various historical figures.

The OG games had this encyclopedia where you could go in and read facts about troops, leaders, history, etc. and I spent freaking hours just reading about the history of my favorite nations.
Economy management is as important as maintaining an army. Make sure you have 15 villagers on lumber, atleast 20 on food, 5 on gold and 5 on stone all the time. That will help you with a constantly productive economy so that you can focus on building an army and defending it. As you progress through the game, build atleast 4 town centres, and do the same amount of the villagers on the aforementioned things. Build many tradecarts also. Good luck!
I loved playing Age of Empires growing up but there was another game that I liked even more called Empire Earth if you ever want to play it I recommend the golden edition if you can find it

There was a game called empires dawn of the modern world I believe that was amazing too. The ending are was WW2 era. So good
agree first time i played it i was 3 days no sleeping, empire earth and 1600-1800 era is the best game ever

Putting your troops in specific formations during battle and travel will also help you
My man Robert Curthose deserved better. Henry actually returned to Normandy in 1105 and specifically went for Bayeux because his close friend Robert fitz Haimo had been captured by Gunter d'Aunay (the constable of Bayeux) and Rainald de Warenne. The two men did it to basically make a quick profit in ransom and also tell Henry that they thought he was a bit of an arse. Kind of backfired in hindsight.

My tips:
Make a really big army at first with even just a few or a little more siege equipment, make sure your resources are in constant flow so while attacking, you can keep up the pressure with reinforcements, also, always do attack move (Press A + left click to any point) because I've seen you ordering troops to attack a troop even there's too many of them which makes your troops disorganized. Make sure that your army is also perfectly balanced, not just melee soldiers or cavalry, but also skirmishers such as archers. Trust me (lol, don't trust me...jk, jk), but really, it works fine, and you will just keep up the attack without even having to retreat.

Hey Apollo in case no one wrote it yet this game is kinda paper rock scissors.... cav is good on archers, archers on Spears, spears on cav and swords nothing and nothing so against archers or on sieges are swords are really kind of useful.... btw love the game and video thanks!

I’ve played age of empires 3 since I was a kid, and watching you play this with no strategy hurts my head😂😂 town centre all messy, only making spears, no swordsmen or cav until later, recourse supply’s lacking😭😭

Your Rams are used against Buildings and not soldiers...
You can group your Units (1,2,3 usw) so its easier to control. Its mostly a Macro Game

You're playing the game like Total War but it's not how this game works. It's more like rock paper scissors where units have strengths and weaknesses against specific types of units. You should target your archers against infantry and cavalry against archers.

have you played total war troy saga? ive only tried playing medieval 2 and its fun but soo old lol, however not sure if my laptop can run higher games

AoE2 will most likely still be the bigger game but AoE4 seems to have a rather positive launch. Much better than AoE3
Yeah the multiplayer is going to be fun I hope, but the campaigns are rather soulless if you compare them to AoE2.
I want to ask. When one enters the multiplayer realms are we put alongside other noobs or we have ti face experts from the get go?
It is skill based matchmaking. As well as a ranked mode

@@ManguKing Maybe. I've heard mixed things. If you don't have a good experience in multiplayer you can play AI skirmishes, the AI is remarkably smart and not boring to play with.
