Rare Lamborghini Jarama - 1 of 10 produced!

  • The Lamborghini Jarama is the perfect mix between a true sports car and a luxurious grand tourer. Even though it is a 2+2 with enough room in the back seats to actually fit passengers, it still sports a powerful 12 cylinder engine that provides ample power. The Lamborghini Jarama was a very limited production run, with only 328 cars produced in total. Out of those, there were two different variations, the GT and GTS. The GTS was a more refined version of the Jarama, with horsepower increased from 350 to 365, making it the more desirable of the two variations. The car presented in this video is even more rare because out of the 328 Jaramas ever made, only 10 came from the factory with an automatic transmission. The Lamborghini Jarama combines everything you would want in an exotic sports car, edgy styling, a massive V12 engine, and a luxurious yet comfortable interior.

The last front engined V12 Lamborghini GT was the Jarama’s sibling, the Espada which ended production in 1978, two years after Jarama production ended.

In Italian and Spanish "J" is pronounced like a "Y". Just thought you should know. I've been a big fan of this model since seeing pictures of it in the 80's. I hope that the fact that this is a rare automatic makes a seller be able to charge a premium for it. I once saw a automatic Espada for sale too. I used to have a poster in my bedroom of all the Lamborghini's up to the 25th Anniversary Countach. The Silhouette is my favorite Lambo. Thanks.

The thing about Lamborghini is that they've just managed to get it "right." Their cars are uncompromising and unapologetic. They can be difficult to work on and tune properly but there's just nothing like one. They are kind of like flying on or just even seeing a 747 in that it's something you never forget.

With new cars and concepts like the Jarama, Ferruccio himself would literally wine and dine his closest customers while his engineers took the car down to the bare frame on the first service. He would distract them with wine and theater until the early hours of the morning to buy his engineers time to reassemble and identify and fix stress points on the new chassis all through the night. He was basically doing what Tesla is doing now buying senators, except he was bribing his own customers to be his test pilots. The fact that he was a tall dark haired handsome man with serious business spectacles helped his cause, but it seems a more honorable strategy.

I don't think that's quite true about pulling the cars apart. Bob did more than exhaustive tests on the car before it was made for the public. The Experience shop was the customers factory service garage and that's where the cars were left for their scheduled servicing. Stripping it down to a bare chassis over night is just fable.

Interesting and informative, but missing one thing. She needs to take it for a drive and open it up, and let us see it perform and hear that V12! BTW I love the color. She is right. Nobody can pull off that orange like Lamborghini. Road & Track did an article many years ago where the auto journalist took a Miura SV for a cruise through the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain (I think). It was that exact same shade of orange with a mustard brown leather interior, and gold colored magnesium Campagnolo rims. It was the most beautiful color combination I think I've ever seen in a Miura! Definitely on my bucket list of cars I'd love to own.

Not super knowledgeable about Lamborghini but have been around for 38 years so far and figured as a car guy that naturally I would've heard about or at least seen a pic of this car at some point, but nope. Crazy. I get why it wasn't popular but not sure why this is the first time I've heard anything about it.

The TorqueFlight 727 trans is a good one. I hate autos. I have seen 800+hp(old, IE, real) Challengers utilize that tranny in mostly stock form. Less than 400hp should be no problem. Most of those were bolted to heavy trucks and campers with huge payloads and gave years of great service. Interesting car. One of the few Lamborghinis I found unattractive. The Miura is the sweet one in my eyes.
