The odds might be the best Canadian band of the late 80's to the mid 90's... Calm down, people.. Not a slight to any other great Canadian Bands like the Hip or 54-40... but there was a decade when everything the Odds did was fantastic... They had their own sound... Original lyrics and great harmonies. This was not a case of a band with a one hit wonder and then a follow up...This was a band that for almost a decade churned out an album every other year and each album was packed with great original music. To the person that mentioned Sloan... Sloan was a lot different... Sloan was evolving trying to find their sound in the early 90's I love Sloan and they were great for a Kid Growing up in Halifax in the early 90's Sloan really turned a page in the late 90's when they came out with Navy Blues in 1998.
Odds fan from NY here - just saw them in London, first show in 20+ years. Miss SD but Murray is a great fit, and they might be a tighter band now than then. Maybe you missed a few EPs and the last album (Cheerleader)? But fret not, older fans - Odds still rule.
May we never forget how this song was part of our upbringing. And thank the Gods for Chom 97.7 in Montreal. Every now and then, I hear this song on the radio and it reminds me of how fragile my dreams are. I will always remember this song over all the crap our futur offspring has to hold onto.
There's a song from an obscure Canadian band out of the 70s that the Odds paid homage to in their song nothing beautiful that I'm trying to find. Can anybody help?
This band was nonchalantly brilliant .Very Canadian.

I remember listening to that song everyday on Mix 96 in Montreal! Oh how I miss the 90's
Masterpiece.
Love the bass how it compliments the song in the background!
I would have died if you played this last night in Winnipeg. It was a very enjoyable night nonetheless. We loved it and you sound great

A beautiful song about truth and beauty. Beauty is beautiful because it doesn't last.
Im almost in tears, this song made my want to play guitar and I still play. i miss my childhood.

Very Very Sloanish that's not even a word but it sure the hell is a band! The harmony is exactly like our SLOAN!

I am just going to keep telling you guys, AWESOME!!!! Yeah, I'm redundant, I know, but it needs to be said, said, and re-said!
