Man, it seems that the SLOW AGC settings that you put in the menu is way too looooooooooooooooooooong ! The slow agc hanging time also seems to be fairly important as the needle is barely moving on changing signals. I do not really like the needle going this way. Here are my settings with latest firmware of course.
    Fast : 300msec, hang 20ms
    Mid : 700msec, hang 20ms
    Slow : 1400msec, hang 20ms.
Thanks for sharing this and enjoy the "new" PEP-2000 radio !

Dear... Are you trying to teach me something about the FT-2000 ? I don't have to look in any menu, I have all settings in mind, I have of the first FT2K rig sold in Belgium and I participate at the PEP-2000 program and bug report. I know everything about the AGC settings and hanging time. The s meter of course stay locked with a long hanging time that is the purpose of that feature but IT IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY USING it really ! As I said please keep your bad settings and be happy with them ! ;-)

Hanging time can be set to 2000 msec max who the hell is using this feature like this ? Hanging time should NOT be set to such a high value in any case. Slow delay time and slow hanging time together is not a pretty way for listening to stations both strong or weak signals.

I am sorry OM but the word "MUST" is not in my dictionary ! Your settings 4 sec and hanging time 250ms I will never use this at home. You can't say "must" to someone, you can only give an advice, your setting are not suited for my listening habits and the hanging time of 250 msec is something very strange to me as this value IS NOT possible thru the menu. MAybe re-read the user manual. Ciao.
