Well, for me it is hard to "undermine" Helm. Personally from the first time I read more about him so many years ago I thought he was a perfect example for maybe a good warrior but a horrible king. He killed a man just because that man insulted him (after Helm insulted him first), made the son of that man and his relatives outlaws and hunted them away from their home. And than it should come at a surprise that these hunted people wanted revenge? The people of Dunland all together had reasons to hate the "forgoil", and Helm with his more than slight racism just made the fire of hate burn stronger. You could really argue if canon Wulf was a villain. He allied himself with the people from Harad, but the main reason of that war was an old circle of revenge and hate in which good and bad are not easy to decide. Not the great conflict between the Shadow and its enemies.

Hi. Reasonable doubts. I found mine were allayed by the Japanese trailer. Hera is less "bratty", we see her love for her father and we see her fighting alongside her brothers. The pacing is far better, it's exciting and takes you through some emotional beats. Knowing nothing of anime, the style didn't bother me, except that with the fast pace you notice less of the slight jerkiness and flat rendering of the foreground characters. There are fewer and different legacy scenes and the voiceover narration jumps right in, no messing with future-Eowyn (who no-one would have recognised anyway).
It's almost as if the English trailer is ashamed of the film! Or was made by people who didn't understand how it's supposed to work. Here's hoping anyway.
