I've just answered a bunch in a row and I think I may have just answered another one of your comments with the same answer so forgive me if I'm repeating myself but no I haven't been on for a long time although I'd love to. I miss the game but I can't get matches, I don't know if it's worse because of being in Scotland for my local player base but I can sit over an hour sometimes without a match then load into where there's only one demon and it times out then get lobby dodged when it finally finds a pair for me to play. I'll be well rusty now as I've been playing the dlc with air control on again for tricks in that play through I've started but I hope to come back to a livened up player base once they announce the next doom game and people come back for a while. I may even just give it another try, my videos have gained a bit of attention again lately so maybe there are just more players coming back in

That's the Immoran skin from getting all 7 streaks with the slayer in the first season of Battlemode 2.0. I'd imagine they'd roll it back in at some point but I don't know what the plan is with these from the Devs. Console controls must be crazy difficult for Slayer, it's been just over 2 years since I moved from controller to PC and going back I've lost all of my abilities on the sticks lol, always takes me ages to pick it back up but even then at my best I'd never be able to pull off a ballista boost on the controller. I've seen it done I just don't get it lol. Dunno how players on console deal with a dread knight berserk. Positioning, timing and setting up glory kills and chainsaws for 'I' frames must be essential to plan out. I always think It's impressive what the console players can do on the sticks
Nice vid for the uninitiated, one thing I still need to work on is the bunny hops, can't pull them off consistently, but just to be sure, you try and hit jump the moment you land on the floor right? Does it help if I am looking down instead of straight while doing the jump? Also for maintaining the movement after the first bunny hop, do you just keep your finger on W and move with your mouse? Without hitting the side strafe buttons?
That's right. Think it has to be either the same frame as you hit the ground or close to at least. Looking down helps to put less on your screen at once which increases frame rate although depending on your frames it may be that it only makes the bunny hop itself more powerful, might not actually make it easier, although I have found it to be more consistent when looking down at times. Only problem with this is in battlemode things can change so fast I tend to want to have my head up and looking, so prefer to get used to not looking down anyway. To maintain the movement you need to keep hitting the bunny hop every time you bounce, for me I feel I want to have used both jumps before every time I land then the third is the bunny hop. Otherwise if I have a double jump available it will just do that instead of the hop, plus the double jump does increase your bunny hop too. Hope that all made sense, ofcourse without air control in Battlemode usually you only get a couple of hops before it's time to change direction or react to something that's changed anyway. Makes a huge difference when running from a dread knight berserk though

I'm using binds. I thought the hotkey was just a controller thing. Didn't realise we got that too. I've got "Q" set to switch my grenades for single player at the moment. Always have I'm sure
I understand that, I was on Xbox basically until just before doom eternal launched. When I started playing this game I couldn't use the keyboard without having to look at where the buttons were but doom has been amazing for dropping me in and forcing me to learn it all real fast then being able to take that same learning online. I played doom 2016 on Xbox and I liked it but it has been way more fun to play without having to stop or slow the gameplay to open up weapon wheels all the time even though it took a long time to learn. I hear now a lot of console games are starting to support mouse and keyboard though so here's hoping the new doom game will as well... However, having said that. Mouse and keyboard on doom would be completely over powered against a controller no matter how much auto aim they give it I think. I've got videos up of me beating pc hackers because there's so much more to this game than just the aim. Maybe it would be too unfair to make mouse and keyboard support for the console version because the keyboard is hard to learn but once you've got it down in a game like this the advantage is way too high I think. I'm not sure how I feel about that, just thinking off the top of my head. Personally I'd like to see everyone have access to the best, most fun way to play possible but at the same time it would be a shame if people who don't have a keyboard and mouse just can't compete or play online at all. If all the consoles came bundled with a keyboard, mouse and controller that everyone would have access to right away then I guess that would be fine but otherwise it kind of gets a little pay to win. Mouse and keyboard owners would just top the leaderboards would be stuck, you could also have it set up where you can choose to play mouse and keyboard or controller matches which would open up possibilities for cross play but that also could hurt the player base on Xbox cutting in half the amount of games you can find in the controller only lobbies so I don't think I like that either. I had help changing to pc from a friend who knows what he's talking about and I needed that help getting set up but now that I am I'm glad after like 15 years of console I switched. Only thing I'd say is if you're going to pc save and go big ish for the first one. I got a cheap one at first to see if I liked it but caused more problems than it was worth and didn't get the pc gaming bonuses like above 60 frames for example. Air control is great in the campaign, however in battlemode, you don't have that rune active, so basically what Joe is trying to do here is to make you learn & a get a feel for the movement you would have in battlemode. I can share with you the controls I use if you're interested in trying it out, will take a while to build muscle memory but once you do that you're gonna be a quickswap champ.
I love air control, best rune in the game. Should be on by default, however... You don't get access to air control in Battlemode and going from having air control active in campaign to not having it active in battlemode always throws me for the first few games. Plus ballista boosting is slightly different with air control on, if your pushed to the left or right coz your sense is wrong then you can correct it with air control. Don't want access to those bad habits then start a battlemode match and find we keep smashing ourselves into walls then need to sort out our sensitivity and re-learn how to shoot with the new one mid match. I still play single player with air control on all the time. It does make the campaign more fun I think but when practicing and warming up for Battlemode we need that crutch turned off so we can go it at our best. Great question, thanks for asking.
In regard to the key binds, I didn't include this because every ones equipment is different, for example some people have a lot of buttons on their mouse to help although switching may impact aim where as others use a keyboard with a thumb stick on it, although I'm not sure how good they are, apparently the thumb sticks themselves aren't great. When it comes to the speed I can pull off my swaps along with being able to still move around at the same time, that is all practice and time spent building the muscle memory with the binds that fit best for you. If it doesn't feel natural to you in the beginning it's just going to take that much longer to set into your muscle memory. If you'd like to pick up a great tool to help and have some extra money to spare, switching to a razor hex V2 mouse has buttons 1-7 around the thumb, if your new to the keyboard this will be a godsend. I remember what it was like trying to get a grip of all the keys when I was new, I used Doom to learn it myself. I lucked out and just so happened that was the first mouse I bought, then doom eternal came out and I set the weapons to the numbers on the mouse, it was awkward to get used to at first but takes some keys away from one hand to share with the other. Frees your keyboard hand up for movement

Totally dude, Im going to be getting parts to build a PC that can hopefully run DOOM eternal, I might kill it if I end up going fast as you 🤣, I hope there ends up being a tournament to see who is absolute top thar you can participate in. Yeah thanks, for players practicing they might as well have second chance on incase of a bad boost and slow down the demons too from their recovery, if they like playing on nightmare like I do it can be real frustrating to try and get used to not having air control at first. If you wanna make it extra difficult and turn everything off then go ahead but that's not advice I'd give in my guide. you'll wanna be used to having increased speed after chainsaws and glory kills anyway so you will be used to being able to aim while your speeds up so better to keep that on as well I'd say. Do you still use the quickswitch hotkey or are you only using weaponbinds? ("Q" by default)

How come you don't like air control? I might've missed it if you explained it in the video. I just feel so neutered without it
Also, do you have a video with your keybinds? Switched to PC recently and trying to get used to it
