Finished the game and loved it so I'm editing this. Figured out why I wasn't having fun: I was using controller on my first playthrough. Swapped to keyboard and it was instantly so much better because now I could swap weapons in both directions! Anyway, the bullet sponges I mentioned were what I believe was pain elementals and cybermancubuses, whom I must have forgot is weak to blood punch.
How do you mean ‘bullet sponges’? To defeat enemies you need to pull off weapon combos and use all abilities to the maximum, not just shoot them as much as possible. Doom eternal is a complicated shooter where combos, prioritisation and movement are key.
@ I started a new save yesterday and started playing through. I think it’s because I was playing on controller, and it’s very hard to quickly switch weapons when you can’t select individual weapons or scroll through them
Im not capable of playing 2016 after eternal, the gameplay, levels, environment is levels above in my opinion. I tried playing 2016 again but its just too slow after youve played eternal, and just being on mars gets boring, i also prefer Hell in eternal

Eternal feels like it's just too much, like how CoD went from a more plotting and controlled experience, to a total twitch shooter for kids on Ritalin. 2016 feels more deliberate with its mechanics, but Eternal throws so many things at you for the sake of overload (like cool, climbing special craggy walls, what does that have to do with combat? Fire? Freezing? Grenades?). 2016 feels more like a real DOOM game, Eternal feels like a PVE Hero Shooter with DOOM flavour. Yes, spicy takes lmao
@@YungStinkyWinky I mean stuff like climbing walls is only in platforming sections, I prefer dooms hardcore combat and movement as well as being thrown so many things at you, with the 2016 one I just kinda miss eternals movement, weapon switching etc whenever I try comeback into it. I wouldn't really say it's made for kids as it's really hard, and fire and freezing are a core part of the game that contribute to the doom dance, frag grenades u had in the 2016 version too, as well as some useless random other grenades. I honestly prefer doom 3 over 2016 but I respect your opinion and appreciate fellow doom players
I feel you graded the bosses too harshly, without presenting any solutions to their flaws, only pointing out their problems. I don’t want to be too harsh with my critique, I’d imagine you’re fresh to the whole commentary thing, but I recommend when you bring up the flaws of a character or enemy, you provide a potential solution. Great video though, keep up the good work, I’d like to see how you improve
You're right, I'll try to fix that. However, I personally didn't like the bosses that much, and a 5 is a good score, 3 is bad. The bosses are good but not excellent. thanks for commenting.
I like how they brought Icon of Sin back in Doom Eternal to show what they wanted to do with him back then if they had the technology at the time.

Played Eternal first and I loved it but I liked ultrakill better because it has more stuff you can do offering more weapon combos and replayability.
I felt like 98% of ULTRAKILL (yes all caps) player would disagree
