  • Hey we got a new shop and a second channel! Check out "More Mortske Repair"!!!
    / @moremortskerepair4354
After failing to repair the transmission leak in my 1971 Ford F100 in my first several attempts and robbing the tires for the 1966 Ford Bronco I decided it was time for some bigger rubber as well! And also to finally fix the transmission leak once and for all! The leak repair got quite a bit more involved than I originally had planned... I really enjoy this pickup but Duff says we can't keep them all. So if you think you need this 4x4 F100 in your collection you can own it for $15,000 USD. As always, thanks for watching!

I know you like 'em low, but I really like the stance the tires gave it. It's a 4X4, so the old school rigs look good a little jacked up. Brave attack on the tranny paid dividends, looks like she ran smooth. The price is right for such a clean example - she really looked more than decent underneath, drive shaft schlop notwithstanding. Ahhh, just clean her up, spit-polish her and keep her - she's on the upper end of the '68-'72 F100 spectrum. Always a good thing!

Two things really impressed me in this video.
One was a cinematographic David Lean moment when Duff was running in the field alone in widescreen with perfect contrast color and light balance. The exuberance of Duff on the run in his territory was transcendent.
The second one was one of continuity; it's in a lot of your videos. At some point when you're in the cab or front seat during a test ride and you return to the shop, you give Duff a rub on the ears. Every time, Duff responds in a way that demonstrates the affection he has for you by putting his paw up and curls it over your arm. His eyes shine with the true meaning of mans best friend and complete trust.
Love the Duff. Looking forward to the Caddy!

That was brutal to watch, my anxiety level was ratcheting up as you went deeper into the trans flying blind. I have worked on enough transmission carnage after someone didn't do some research, nice recovery. Next time check to see if the sealing washers are good on the pump retaining bolts, another source for oil to weep past, some sealer or an o-ring can help that out. The pump gasket is to maintain oil pressure from pump to transmission, the quadring is to keep it from leaking around the pump and case.

Hey Mortske, I worked in a tire shop years ago and I would straighten wheels out by applying a little heat and using a crescent wrench. You don’t really need heat with steel wheels but aluminum wheels will crack or split without heat. Obviously using the “jaws” of the wrench you can control where your bending by opening or closing the jaws. Hopefully I explained ok. You’re a smart guy so you’ll figure it out. Keep up the good work man.

Spot on as usual - rims, tires and stance really make the look, and I'm with you in that 32 inches is likely the perfect tire on that 250 for actual driving without a lift - same for the 60s K-10s on 16x5 steelies. Really appreciate this video and your approach. There's so much to learn each time, like the Bronco front hub repair when I saw you pull the axle out to get the C clip back on. I found the same clip floating on grease when I pulled the manual hub on a swapped blazer axle - and now I know just enough more than the last guy who put it back "together".

I love the 67-72 generation of Ford trucks. Yours is a great looking truck, especially being a 4x4.👍😁

As a child of the Seventies, my parents used to drive us around in the vehicles you restore. Especially the '71 Ford F100. Cool story bro: our windshield busted out of the Ford, and my dad drove with us to the repair shop with the wind full blast in our faces, when a bug hit me square in the face at 60+ MPH. Thanks for the memories, Mortske!

I love that truck! We had an old 74 Ford when I was a kid. I love the tires and wheels. But the beauty rings got to go. Can't see the wheels for trim! Thanks for another great episode!

Hi Mortske and Duff. Great looking Ford. My older Brother owned one that year. He kept it for a long time. Those C6 transmission's were tough. All my very best.

I love your videos! When you asked if anyone had a trick to bend them back, well I use a big adjustable wrench and bend the bead back, to where its straight.

Thanks Mortske, the truck looks great with the big tires, silver paint and thinner beauty rings would be my vote. I've taken many transmissions apart, they don't always go back together though! (least favorite job!!)
    Puddin got you good!!

Love the truck, wish I could come across a pristine example like that . Keep doing what you are doing it clearly works and the data ,subs and views proves it. There is always someone who goes for a different cup of tea. Lift the truck a couple inches if it rubs. Leave it if not.

If you don’t want oil down to your armpits … tie shop rags around your wrists and then remove them after the soaking … it also works for fuel … 👍🏻

This is bringing back bad memories. I did this to my c6. You're doing everything the same. It's the sealing rings holding you up. You gotta jiggle the pump in. The second gear band.....I'm commenting as I'm watching so good luck. Lol

I cringed the whole time ,watching you struggle with the c6. "Mortske Repair..edge of your seat entrainment" I am not a transmission expert, I rebuilt a E4OD ford tranny that actually still works because of , 'Transmission Bench' you tube videos. That Guy has 40 years experience, he teaches like a hands on class room, breaks the videos down in sections. Ford, Chevy and Dodge. He makes educated dummies like us look "way good ". You and Duff keep up the good work. 👍
