    • @djoetma
      @djoetma หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Obviously these guests' time is valuable. I'd love for there to be a bit more discussion on thngs based on the question and maybe for them to get some more question. Extra questions like these, but also questions about things that were said during the show. Years ago sometimes Overtime could go towards half an hour and I've seen it once to past 45 minutes. But that's the problem with having guests on that are too prominent. or they should just tell them that it can go on for another 45 minutes.
Also cool in the pas was to see how 'the internet' wasn't taken as seriously, so guests appeared different, more relaxed, more their own person. Took off their suit jackets, loosened the tie, etc., So you saw for example this Romney strategist joking about Romney caring about poor people. So you didn't see the PR/spokes person as much and just the women she was with her own opinions. But those times are definitely over.

That discussion on real masculinity is much needed. The years of difference with Joe, Mark and David showed a great group who could discuss the issues and humanize one another. We need more of this. Please ask your team to find other young people who they know are competent to come on your show. They are out there and need a spotlight other than the TH-cam algorithm.

@@bensonbrett30 He's had a number of youths on the show over the years, but not so many since new format.
A pretty cool one was Xiuhtezcatl Tonatiuh (ty google) who I think was just 17 at the time.
I'd like to see more on the show too, but can also see why there rarely are.
Not meaning this in an insulting way, but if look at the guests he's had on this season, like the mentioned Scott Galloway and Andrew Sullivan, or Yuval Noah Harari, Bob Costas, Larry Wilmore etc.. it's not quite easy to see where having someone young on makes much sense beyond some singular issue.
It's not exactly biased when say that other than those single issues or experiences (like David's, who at 24 is not exactly young) that the young ones don't have a whole lot to bring to the table. Outside of music or sports, they haven't had time to do anything yet at that age.
Some guests like Charlemagne could easily have been replaced by kid that knows nothing about anything, and still have been more interesting.

Bill was talking about why young people are more anxious today than before
He invited Scott Galloway to his show to talk about his book Algebra of Wealth
He explained how the wealth distribution is always going toward older generations than the younger ones
It’s not that hard to follow that trend and realize how desperate and hopeless young people feel about their future because there is nothing they can change in this environment.
It’s such a huge part of their anxiety and it is real not imaginary at all.

It is no surprise that there are segments of the population that are looking at conservative prospects. In Canada, we are going through the same thing right now; with strong support for the conservative view and a push back (yes...push back) on the liberal governing party (Trudeau). This move to the right you can also see in France and other countries. This is the backlash. My fear is that the pendulum is going to swing way too far back, way too fast. And it'll be even more in the years to come if Harris does win. Either way, the backlash will be historic whether sooner or later. You can poke and prod and shame and cancel and use all the underhanded tactics you want, and more often than not people will put up with it for a time, but when you start to make their groceries and rent cost a ton more then get ready for a backlash.
That's not even counting flooding the country with illegals (that you also subsidize) and funneling billions to get laundered in oversea conflict, and a slew of other, at best, negligent and, at worst, intentional and corruption goings on.

Meanwhile we’re complaining about gender and pronouns. There’s gays defending Palestine and so ignorant to the fact that if they were there they would be thrown off the highest building. Maher has the new mid-70's Tonight Show with the old people violently agreeing about Kids These Days. All he needs is Buddy Hackett and Joan Rivers doing guest spots. Like Carson he does funny stuff sometimes; unlike Carson you can see he will not know when to quit.
He was so patronizing to David Hogg. I hope Hogg winds up hosting a show that drives him off the air.

I was a councilor at a domestic abuse shelter. Now I'm 72 and my then husband sold my car I got for graduation and beat me up and nothing was done. 50 yrs later you cant do that. IMO, men are just now catching on that the Rules have changed and that loss of privilege is affecting them mostly on a subconscious level.😊
