I watched nearly every orioles game i possibly could when i was growing up. I was 6 when this game happened and i remember i could stay up that night because it was a friday and not a school night. My old man would tell me "Mikes pitching tonight!" or "Erickson is pitching tonight!" and i would get doubly excited for the game that following night

I was at this game - what an amazing night...so close...the electricity in the air towards the later innings was amazing. It was just this feeling like it could happen...almost did!

I was there, too. It was so intense as the game went on. Most memorable game I’ve been to.

Great job by Sandy Alomar. Hate to see Moose lose it, but it's much more tolerable than Carl Everett's blooper with two strikes and two outs. Clean single, great job of hitting someone who was hurling the unhittable.

Most impressive is that’s a big boy lineup he faced.

Happened in the playoffs as well, with Chuck getting the better of that affair.

How was Mike Mussina (The Moose) not selected in the 1st round of the Hall of Fame. One of the best during his aura.

Gosh, Mussina was sure something else against Clev in 1997.

@Councilman Les Wynan Not his fault - he had no run support in either of those games...hugely disappointing watching those ALCS games as an O's fan. But Mussina did everything he needed to in order to win. Just didn't have any runs to back him up...

@@mdduckman Yeah, and Armando Benitez certainly didn't help him in relief either. The game in Cleveland he struck out 15, and then Benitez gives up a freaking HR to Tony Fernandez of all people to lose the series in Game 6 when Mike pitched another gem.

Man, Sandy Alomar had something against Mussina. First, broke his perfect game, then a year later broke his eye socket

I don't get when a pitcher pitches a perfect game an opposing player breaks it up.
