    It was a perfect game. It might not be in the books, but everyone knows that last call was bullshit. It was pretty obvious that the runner was 2 steps away from the bag when miggy got the ball in his glove. I remember watching the last 3 innings of the game as a kid. I was in bed sleeping and my dad woke me up on a school night to watch it. When that runner was called safe I freaked out, I cried and threw a huge tantrum because I have Armando's autograph.

    Another ironic fact about this game:
    Jim Joyce is from Toledo and attended BGSU. He more than likely grew up a Tigers fan, as Toledo has long been linked to the Tigers due to its close proximity to Detroit and being home to their AAA team, the Mud Hens. You have to think he also received the wrath from his friends back home for this blowing this call.

    He would have joined Addie Joss on the perfect game with the fewest number of strikeouts (3) and the second fewest number of pitches (83) since Addie Joss (74). Batting is better than it ever has been, so we may never never again see 24 bats making contact with the ball and resulting in no hits. The Tigers fielding was also impeccable. MLB need to rewrite this wrong.
    It's particularly egregious because he was an otherwise average pitcher having the greatest day of his career.

Replay shows he was out by half a step. Watch the reactions of the guys in the Indians' dugout. Surprisingly, the Indians don't argue the call. Tigers go on to score two more runs. Replay wasn't in use at the time. This likely was what finally got it installed.

      because this happened in 2010. mlb didn’t have replay review until 2015.

    I am not a Detroit tigers fan but if Miguel Cabrera Takes the ball and runs I think he could have been out and he could’ve had a perfect game

    How do you record these games?

    • @daybaek
      @daybaek 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      by getting 27 outs in a row through nine defensive innings, without allowing a batter to reach a base in any way. and a pitcher cannot reasonably achieve it without his infield and outfield

    umpires should be on the field for ceremonial purposes only - and paid minimum wage.

    Ball was right too the second baseman. If Cabrera would have just went to first and covered and let the second baseman take it that’s probably a perfect game
