That moment when you just got done streaming the Orioles game and then turn this game on to see Ryan Mountcastle at the beginning of his journey after seeing him playing in the majors in real time! It all comes full circle
The dude they mentioned in the "Maryland Lottery Home Run Sweepstakes" at 35:58, got $4500, that night. $500/home run, plus $500 just for being selected.
Dude! $$$ Is there a stat for the money the MD lottery paid out in all the home runs paid out while this team was bombing everyone? Great time in balmer
Sadly this was near the end of Chris Tillman's time in the rotation. He showed promise in his first couple of years but clubs found a way to hit him, and hit him hard, so his days were numbered.
While watching this game, I focused on the fact that some of the Phillies players were not hustling or trying very hard. Not all of them, of course, but a few had noticeably given up early in the game. Case in point; watch Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz at 22:56 and 23:30. It's the bottom of the first inning and he didn't hustle whatsoever. That's a sad thing to see from a man who was paid over eight million dollars a year to play baseball for a living. Millions of men would do anything to be in that position and would likely play harder than Ruiz ever did. It's tragic.
I was there with my father! It was his birthday. He sadly passed in 2017, but this is a memory I’ll never forget
Sorry for your loss. A beautiful memory indeed.

Sorry for your loss. I'm glad that you have that memory. There were some special games with that team.
@@metr1ck Thank you, I'm glad to have seen the team so sucsessful from 12-16, and really glad that the tide is turning now!
