Thanks for the informative video. You and Earl Moorhead are my go to utubers before I pull my sledge apart. Bent a shock and front cv...had a big tumble.
I liked your observation about how the CVD’s fit perfectly in the rear as well so I have a couple more on the way to give it a try. Thanks for tearing into yours and figuring it out. By the way; part 9550 is a completely assembled CVD. They are $22.00 for anyone interested.
Still don't have my Sledge...but, the extra pair of front CVDs (for the rear) did arrive, along with the aluminum shock caps & bellcrank posts, sway bar kit, and TiN-coated shock shafts...oh, yeah, and PowerHobby 729MBL servo (say "goodbye slow, underpowered Traxxas servo"). Still waiting on the preg glued belted tires.
Nice, sounds like a killer build. You will love it. Keep an eye on the axle pins and consider replacing the hinge pins with RPM Xmaxx pins. I'll have a vid on that in the next day or two.
@@rcilluminati26 Will be in the lookout for that...although, truth be told, I usually avoid RPM products, as most of their stuff tends to be lower in quality (comparing suspension arms, I start away from RPM at all costs...plastic is too soft). Another idea, if pins start 'moving', is to use Loctite to keep them in-place...red Loctite, that is. The automotive & motorcycle industry uses red Loctite, and, if that holds auto/MC parts, RC parts certainly wouldn't come out.
@@robbryan3044 I’ve found the same with RPM. Some parts work great and some don’t. I had zero issues with their pins on my Xmaxx so I’ll give them a try. I just used some Loctite for slip joints on one axle and super glue on another to test it out. Also peened over done of the metal around the pins. If it works I’ll post a how to vid.
hey RC Illuminati! Wow this truck sure has alot of issues right out of the gate Crazy for 800.00$ truck or truggy whatever think they would of done some more testing before releasing the new platform??? great tutorial on replacing the front CVD dogbone! I think I'd put those on the back if you can and shim them to take the slack out of needed! 🤔😉👍📹✔️💯👋👋👋👋
Its a great design but cheap metal is really holding it back. With most RCs I figure on about $200-300 in upgrades before I'm satisfied, I guess this ones no different.
Thanks. Hey looking at mine one rear suspension pin snapped at threads part 9543. Nothing on rear of sledge is broke. 3.5x56.7 mm. Hardware store? I have several hobby shops in town nobody has this part.

@@rcilluminati26 Sounds "like a plan".
Could you please do a how to video on replacing the drive gear, and upgrading the motor mount?
Thanks for the video. Helpful to me.
You've got more subscribers 👍

Big...Huge Help, Thanks a lot😀👍👏
Appreciate the video. Bent my dog bone and was wondering how to get off spring. Ty
I went with the M2C shafts to replace these and it was such a good idea! lol. If they break again, I suggest going with M2C instead!
Love you videos. Thanks for sharing.

Do you have a video on replacing the screw in the center drive cup? Also how do I reach you instead of adding comments in a video?
The screw that holds the spur to the diff cup?
Thanks again
Y not grease bearings since u had it apart
because grease attracts dirt and will wear/damage the part
nevermind i thought you meant the cv axle.
